We have been having issues with rats in the attic of our old home. Currently one has died up there in an area that can not be reached. Nightmare. I reached out to Edgar for a second opinion. I called based on the reviews, and they were as professional as advertised. They made an appointment the same day that I called, arrived on time, and did a thorough inspection of the unit and the building. Immediately they identified a problem that I would never have suspected! Since it required me to repair a wall where I had recently installed an AC unit, they declined to trap any rodents until that was done, since they determined that they were coming in from outside the house, and thus closing the hole was crucial. No charge, a thorough explanation, and a solution that I could use. As soon as the work is finished I will hire them to ensure that the problem is solved permanently. Edgar was excellent from the first phone call we had with him. You could tell he really loves what he does the moment you speak with him, which for rat exterminating sounds weird but it made us feel hopeful that we had found someone to help us!! Our first visit he came to the house the very next day and exactly on time. Set up a bunch on traps all over the attic and some in the house. With in hours we're heard them going off! Very next day he came back which was nice because it was earlier then we had originally scheduled but he understood the creep factor in having dead (and live) rats trapped in your house. That day he sealed up allll the possibly entry ways which was way more then the one we had thought. By the third visit there were no more rats and he deodorized the house further scaring the rats away. He even cleaned out our cabinets of all the rat droppings which I thought I was going to have to hire a cleaning company for. Edgar is a true "rat expert" with the knowledge to find solution and good person of integrity overall! It was a blessing to have him come to our home and throughly inspect around the perimeter of the house, up on the roof, and inside the attic. He was very thorough in explaining all the possibilities and discarding those that were not applicable. We just moved into an older home in Miami Beach with rats int he attic/ walls, making noises at night, and one had the audacity to come into our kitchen 3 times in one night to eat an avocado on the kitchen counter, which thank God I saw with my own eyes and saw through where it escaped (behind dishwasher). Edgar was able to inspect all over after my husband had closed up allllll holes all over and he explained that this was actually NOT a main point of entry into the home, just an escape hole back into the walls.... Which lead us into the investigation of WHERE they are entering. In the end, the entire home was sealed up and confirmed that the point of entry is, unfortunately, a much worse situation than expected and appears to be through the sewer lines/ cracked plumbing. This is not a surprise but hard to digest. However, Edgar assured us of all the steps we need to take (and all the specialties we need to hire) to solve this serious issue. We are only at the beginning stages but we are grateful for his expertise and how he educated us. Edgar not only understood and figured out the source/ entry points leading to our rat infestation BUT he also noted and documented (with pictures) evidence of OTHER insect infestations (roaches, spiders, termites) we also have in the attic/ crawl space/ fascia, the damage they have been causing, and the steps needed to resolve them as well, prioritizing them and explaining in what order to take steps to resolve since there is a LOT going on which is a bit overwhelming but can be resolved one step at a time.
