Granting one star simply because I did manage to get a drink from this bar- and I can't give zero stars. This is all due to the horrendous service. I waited for what felt like days while the bartenders stood with their backs to me. One bartender, when he finally turned around, simply ignored all customers and walked away. The second bartender finally served me after I pretty much chased her around the bar until she was willing to make eye contact with me and take my order. Later, my husband went to order a second round and the same bartender told him she wouldn't take his order because the bar was closing and he hadn't been sitting at the bar (we'd been sitting at a table)- not sure what that would have to do with anything. As Austin residents, we were embarrassed to think that this is the main bar at our airport. A sad state of affairs. read more

Should be sooo ashamed. Yesterday I stopped here to have a drink before a flight and was joined by 5 tables or so of Army Rangers who just returned from the Mid East. I watched as the restaurant manager came in, shook their hands and thanked them for their service. The guys told him they had been there quite some time and the waitress had not addressed them or offered service. The manager said he would "take care of it". 15 minutes later they come up beside me to order a drink because after 35 minutes of being at the restaurant the waitress STILL had not come to the table. Smarten up Ray Benson, that waitress should be fired. This men fought for us, protect us and keep us safe.They arrived in full uniform and take up 5 tables and you don't jump? I would GLADLY have waited an hour to be waited on if it met them getting what they needed. Never make that mistake again and I hope noone else will either. read more

The worst bar I have ever been to! Ordered a dirty martini (probably the easiest drink to make) and the bartender poured strait olive juice in a glass, handed it to me and the glass was only 1/4 full. Then when I told her it didn't have any liquor in it she poured Smirnoff over the counter strait into my glass. Horrible, rude, and overpriced! Will never go back! Delayed for a flight and everything just wasn't happening. First looking at the drink menu sitting on the table and deciding on a drink, but went to order and was told the menu was old. Then my friend ask about dark beer, and was told 'we don't have any dark beer'. Then couldn't remember who's ID she check out of three people so then asked again. The previous table left a 50 cent tip, now I understand why...avoid the unless you are desperate. read more

great bar if you don't end up with Cara as your bartender....drinks are weak. I'm pretty sure the bloody mary I ordered has zero alcohol. I've had bloody Mary's here before and the gentleman that normally makes them are delcious. last time my friends and I were here they wanted mimosas, she told them they didn't carry champagne...2 minutes later she made mimosas for other ladies. I think because we are in our late 20s and we look younger she probably thought we wouldn't tip...well she missed out on a good tip because we were all servers. other than that I've had no complaints about this bar at the airport especially when there's live music! closing hours are a little arbitrary. apparently theyre based on the last flight to depart. which sucks if youre the last flight to arrive and really want a bloody mary after a long day of travel the food is sorta decent and the bloody marys are not very big. maybe 12 oz max with ice included. read more

Edwin at the sandwich bar here was a real dick. One waiter for the 30 tables here and no service even after flagging down an impatient server after 15 mins of waiting, I went to Edwin at the sandwich bar and he was rude and completely useless. Asked him what beer they sold and he "didn't know." Ordered an overpriced shitty pulled pork sandwich which he left at window without telling me it was done. I asked about it and he scolded me "you should have known that was there." I was sitting right next and the asshole couldn't even tell me. It was cold. It sucked! Don't go here. read more

Sad. The people that work here are unbelievably stupid. While I was first in line they continued to serve the people behind me. All I wanted was a few bottles of beer. You don't have to pour anything or clean any glasses you just grab it and take my money and it took 15 minutes! They are working in 10 feet of square space and both people working there asked for my ID when they're standing right next to each other! Merry Christmas ! I am departing this great city of Austin after visiting my family and grandsons to be greeted by the most amazing staff at this airport bar!!! I have traveled the world and never experienced such gracious, efficient service from Christian and Julie working Christmas night. Regardless of them having to work a holiday they made my departure so joyous thanks to the management for these amazing employees! Disappointing. Really bad service. You practically have to bribe them to take your order and deliver your check.

I travel to Austin quite a bit, and usually stop here to grab a drink (or more) while waiting on my flight. My gates are generally located close to this restaurant/bar. Here are the positives & negatives: Positives: Centrally located in the terminal. Good selection of beers (draft & bottled), as well as liquors. Food offered is just ok....nothing to write home about. Negatives: Service is HORRIBLE. In all my years stopping there for a drink, I have yet to see a bartender or wait staff that knew how to smile, or had a personality. They all act like they hate their job, and are slow as molasses. I'm usually a person that tips more than the norm, even for mediocre service. And I continue to do that here in hopes that some of them can finally afford to buy either a smile or personality! They don't start serving alcohol till 9:30, which sucks if you have an early flight and want to grab a drink. The prices are quite dear - I had one Bloody Mary and it was $9. The service is ok but the drinks are loaded with ice and have very little alcohol, if any. read more

Bricket sandwich was so bad I only took one bite and the meat felt like it had been chopped so finely that I was eating powdered meat, the cheese burger meat looked as it had come out of the freezer and been reheated. This bar makes me embarrased for my town. I hate to think people get off of a plane here and are greeted by the same angry bartender me and my husband were. The same female bartender with dark hair whom others seem to complain about was unbelievably rude to us, we ended up canceling our order and leaving because of her. Very poor service. I don't get out and travel as much as I'd like to, but when I do, I would appreciate a smile/manners from the bartender at the airport. My boyfriend and I stopped in the establishment on 5/28/18 @ approx 4:45pm for a drink prior to boarding our flight and had the worst female bartender we have ever experienced. Her attitude was beyond RUDE. All the other patrons felt the same way. We have NEVER not tipped, even if the service was not up to par, but we did not tip this woman and I hope the others didn't either. If you want a tip, change your attitude, You are in customer service......And a tip for the management, get a new bartender. read more

The bartender was horribly rude and surly with me, and in an angry voice yelled..."we're not open yet!!"..I looked around and saw at least five other people that had been served. I don't know what this guy's issue was on this particular day, but he just cost this place a lot of money, as I come here every time I fly. Will not go back ever! I had a very bad experience with Cara as well on Sunday evening. My wife, who is 55, had an expired drivers license. CARA refused us service, instead calling the airport police. This even though we had proof that the license had been renewed online with the state DMV. Her rudeness and arrogance is remarkable. I cannot belief someone like this can be employed, much less STAY employed in the service industry. She even refused to refund the price of the beer I did not drink after she refused to serve us a glass of wine for my wife. With the proof we wanted to offer to her that the license had been renewed. Even the police officers shook heir head in disbelief how arrogantly and unprofessionally she handled this situation. They stated they would have had no issue with the license as ID. Neither did the airport security personnel at both airports. My wife was able to travel without having to produce any other documents. The last thing I would think a business like this should consider is to call the police and waste their time with such a trivial issue. They surely had better things to worry about on Thanksgiving weekend. I have written to her superior to demand a refund, but so far have receives no response. I wish that I could give this place 0 stars for service. I sat at a table looked at the menu and waited, and waited, and waited, and no one came for over 20 minutes (I had the patience and time due to a long layover). I went up to the bar to ask about table service and continued to wait as the bartender made eye contact but he continued to put glasses away and perform other non-customer related tasks. Eventually a woman came to the bar and said that she would serve my table, even though there were no servers on duty. It would have been helpful if there was a sign indicating that one should order at the bar. The food however was decent. Stopped by for a quick Tex-mex taco and a beer between flights with my fiancé. Bartenders deliberately ignored us despite the crowd being thin and looking over at us a number of times. We left after seven minutes of finding the service lacking. I do not recommend. The other reviews complaining about the same are spot on. The popcorn was stale and over salty, the pretzel tasted like it had been frozen and defrosted, frozen and defrosted....several times over then dried out from sitting out too long. The cheese tasted like reconstituted powdered cheese product. My hot dog kept falling over in the paper container. Will not eat there again. read more
