Terrible service! Placed a to-good order and got home to find out a piece of fish and side of Mac n cheese was missing. Immediately called the store to let them know and was told all they could do was give me another if I came in. I told them I'd be on my way and the lady who said her name was Owen, sarcastically said "you're coming back for a mac and cheese??". YES!! I paid your steep prices for it and you won't honor your error any other way so Im driving back from Galt to get the missing piece of catfish and mac and cheese. When my husband arrived to get the missing items, they gave him the run around, stating they know they cooked it and put it in the bag. So I guess they thought their food was that amazing that I'd eat all my food then try to lie to get an extra piece of fish and mac and cheese. What was resolved over the phone became an issue when we came back for them to make it right. Customer Service needs a cleanup at this restaurant, especially after spending $40+ on a dinner, only to be treated like we were trying to get over. Worth mentioning, the mac n cheese was hard and impossible to cut with a fork (even when still warm) and tasted like boxed Kraft mac n cheese. Disappointing but promising. So I ordered 100 pieces of chicken, 50 pieces of catfish, greens, Mac and cheese and red beans and rice for a Saturday 11am pickup. Food was ready when we arrived for pickup. I had my son pickup the order so I didn't check if it was correct. We got Party wings instead of mixed chicken. The wings were a little tough and not well seasoned. I believe the fish was tilapia and not catfish and it was rubbery. I truly believe that both the chicken and fish was prepared overnight. I ordered online for catering services which was organized and easy to use. Right after I put my big order in, someone called to verify the order which was much appreciated. The food was ready at the pickup time and was nice and hot. Someone also helped me with bringing about 7 trays of food to my car. Lastly, the food was great and my party loved it. Rays is SO GOOD!! I go here whenever I'm craving fresh fried chicken and fish and they never disappoint but beware you will literally crave this EVERYDAY after eating here!! The service is beyond amazing! The cashiers always make sure I get my sauces and drinks with a smile on their face :) the energy once you step in this restaurant is so lively with outgoing oldie music playing from Bob Marley to Michael Jackson. I was so disappointed with this place. First they sent VERY DRIED no flavor FISH SANDWICHES, buy one get one free and I see why they did. They wanted to get rid of it. And I ordered fried green tomatoes and they were all mushy and greasy and tasted so nasty no flavor at all I felt like I was served yesterday's leftover. Great food and service! We tried this place four times the food is amazing and very flavorful. We tried their crab, basa, catfish, buffalo, & whiting fish, crab cake and shrimp. All were tasty. I love this place, was hesitant for the longest time due to the prices but I am glad I decided to give it a try! It's so worth the money & they give large portions! The lovely Iya helped us she was so sweet and down to earth, she recommended some delicious dishes, she stressed the fact that they separate the fish and seafood products from the chicken frying together, as she her self is allergic to seafood, so if you have a fish allergy and want some tasty chicken you can feel safe to eat here, we had the alaskan cod so delicious the fries had a crunch and were very tasty, the tenders were moist but also had a wonderful crunch, the greens were really good we also got some red velvet cake moist just right loved it, the ambience is nice it's quite and cozy feels homey, Iya is an amazing worker she was very knowledgeable and very personable love her!! Came in to order some take out on a Saturday afternoon. It was empty inside but we were greeted right away. It was quiet inside and there was a lot of cool decor and photos on the walls! I ordered a combo plate of 2 kinds of fish (cod and shrimp) with potato salad. The flavor of the breading was really yummy and tasted super good with the tartar sauce. I ultimately couldn't finish my food but it was so good! There was a lot of choices of fish to get which I find pretty interesting, instead of just one set kind of fish. The people who run this place are delightful. Friendly, polite and helpful. The place is pretty barebones, but scrupulously clean and bright. This is largely a takeout place and therefore low on ambiance. The prices are in line with other fish and chicken shops. You do get good value for the cost. I wan to love the food because of the freshness of the fish, but everything I've ever had is too salty for my dietary needs. The fish and chicken is beautifully fried. Crispy on the outside and juicy and tasty on the inside, and not greasy indicating mastery of frying. I went in this time for the calamari which was a good mix of rings and whole squid (which is what I prefer). It was too salty for me to enjoy it. I think that their dredge is over seasoned for those of us with healthy eating concerns. I have tried several of the desserts, but haven't been impressed. As with many local restaurants, the desserts are away overpriced and clearly not the focus of their business. read more

I've never had fried basa before but I would say it's similar to fried catfish. The fried fish was coated in cornbread batter with a little extra seasoning. Actually all their fried items seem to be like that. But no complaints because it just made the food taste better! The fries were great. I didn't know what to do with my bread so I didn't eat them. I wish they served rolls or toast instead. I also ordered their new breaded cauliflower. It was good, but not the best I've had. It was more fried than actualy cauliflower. Their greens are soupy good and savory. You can really taste the meat in there. The potato salad was to my liking because I prefer my potatoes on the hard side, not the mushy soft ones. The coleslaw I could care less. The fried corn on cob..yes FRIED CORN..was ridiculous. My fiancé really loved it but I thought it was unnecessary. I couldn't taste the natural sweet corn flavor. i should have been rated this place, but better late than never. one of the best fish spots around. i love all of the cashiers. they're all sisters and have great personalities. they always make me happy to patronize their business. anything that i have ever ordered has always been good. my main dish is the shrimp over rice with extra sauce. so delicious. they don't sell pork for all my non-pork eaters so that's a plus. the only downfall is that they stop selling the chocolate cookies. lol. i have never had cookies that tased that good. i wish they bring them back, even if it is temporailry. and i just saw that they are open until three am on weekends. that is a plus, because we always have to settle with mexican food since they are the only 24 hours or late hour spots around here. read more

We drove from Downtown to the Bruceville Rd. location (a distance of about 8 miles) in the pouring rain. The place was clean, devoid of any other customers and freezing cold inside. Our order: small (2pc) cod meal $12.00 (meal comes with fries, bread and salad choice) small catfish meal 13.00 small gumbo 13.00 calamari (only) 11.00 Banana Pudding 5.00 Okra 6.00 Tax 5.25 Tip 9.00 Total $74.25 The woman at the counter who took our order, packed up our food and handed my husband the bag. She told him we were her only customers. Please tell our friends about them. We drove 8 miles back home in the pouring rain with our much anticipated meal. Upon unpacking the bag I found that the $13.00 gumbo was missing. Then I said where is the okra? My daughter said it's right here, when I tore open the bag of okra I found the cod and bread had been plopped in with the okra.... instead of the fries that came with the meal. The okra was a separate order and not ordered in place of the fries. Weird. I called and the woman said she was sorry, could we come back? I said we are 8 miles away and they closed in 20 minutes. She asked if I lived near Arden. I said I was about in the middle of the two locations. Then she said I could just call at a later date when I was near a location and they would give me a gumbo and fries. ???? Yeah I'm sure that would happen. I said NM I'm on my way back. That's another 16 mile RT in the pouring rain. I had to leave my sad over salted food to get cold while I drove back for my missing items. We got there right at 9:00 p.m. She again, said she was sorry, handed my husband a bag, this time he pulled out the contents to check. She tried to head to the kitchen but, I asked if we could get a banana pudding for the trouble? This obviously made her mad. She flipped her hand at me and said, "You can get a soda!" I shouldn't have even had to ask. This was her screw up. Very poor customer relations. I got a soda and told her to enjoy her nice tip. No wonder you have no customers. We will not be back. We went back home to our now cold sad over salted meal. The calamari just plain sucked, over cooked and so, so salty. You can literally see the crusting of salt on the food. The gumbo was mediocre. Half the food went in the trash. What a waste of $75.00. She asked us to tell people about them.... so, I am! Pretty sad. You got $70.00 of my money. I got to spend an additional 40 minutes of my time, a gallon of fuel and my crappy food to get cold making it completely unedible and you couldn't wrap your head around giving me a $5.00 dessert for my trouble. Truly woman, good luck in keeping your business afloat. SIde note, the hot fries are pretty darn good if you like coated fries. I DO NOT recommend this place, at all.
