I can't believe I didn't find out about this place sooner. I'm a huge Bills fan and I only discovered Ray's after walking around Midtown during the Pickle Festival held around there this past Spring. Since the season started, we've been to Rays a couple times with friends on game day! There's an atmosphere you really can't beat at any other place in Omaha. Also, the servers, bartenders, and managers are so helpful and quick with getting you sat and taking orders. I normally get the charbuffed extra hot wings since they're so crispy and not too messy. There's also a large selection of pizza, sandwiches and appetizers for those who want something else. I'd recommend getting to Ray's around 45 minutes before Bills kickoff on game day. We've always found seating four 2-4 people the couple times we've been in. With wall-to-wall coverage of screens, you'll always have a great view! read more

We only recently visited Ray's although being local Bills fans and had a great time, regretting that we haven't visited sooner! We went for game day and luckily got the last table inside, where the whole place was packed with Bills fans! The servers were all super nice and even with it being super packed very attentive, checking in frequently to refill drinks or get more food. We ordered the fried pickles which were delicious and crispy, and I loved how they were thin spears over chips. We also ordered the buffalo chicken rangoons which were delicious as well. Later we ordered the mild wings which were really good- very saucy but not soggy at all. They have lots of sauce options for all tastes and levels of spicy you might be looking for. The selection of different appetizers and other food items are perfect for hanging out on game days. They also have a good selection of beers on draft and otherwise, with a nice drink list too. There are tvs everywhere so you never miss a second of the game, and Bills memorabilia between every tv. The patio is nice too if you're looking to sit outside. We're staying in the Element Hotel and just walked in during the afternoon to order takeout to take back to our hotel room. This is a sports bar and has the sports bar vibe. Everything was nice and clean when we walked in. Matthew took care of us and was great in providing pleasant conversation while we waited for our food. Good vibes. Just got some chicken fingers and a small salad. The tenders are big juicy pieces of chicken and they were breaded and sauced just right. The ranch was nice and thick. This hit the spot for chicken and I would come back to try the wings just based on these fingers. The food was good quality compared to other sports bars I've experienced. I don't do a lot of takeout usually because the quality is not the same as dining in. That was not an issue this time. I was staying at the nearby Element Hotel and decided to order takeout and bring it back to my room. The bone-in wings, charred, with regular wing sauce was perfect. The temperature/heat was still good even though I picked it up 15-20 minutes after I asked for it to be ready. The sauce and charred flavors were just right. It came with delicious blue cheese dressing and fresh celery in a nice sealed bag. It's the little things sometimes. I also ordered a Caesar salad on the side. Went to Ray's for the first time today. We were the first ones in there. Our server was prompt and friendly. We both ordered large beers first and I was happy when the large mugs came out and they were ice nice and cold. Now I ordered 10 wings. 6 with the Buffalo X hot and 6 with Jamaican jerk rub. Had a side salad to accompany my wings. I really liked the homemade blue cheese dressing. Now the Buffalo X hot sauce was very flavorful. Delicious! The Jamaican jerk was ok. To much oregano in it. Garlic Parmesan was the best Garlic Parmesan I've had in a LONG time! Perfect touch! The Tequila Lime flavor is one of my new favorites! This flavor is amazing! I would highly recommend this flavor to anyone! These wings were a perfect combination of thick, crispy and mouthwatering! Brilliantly cooked. The whole environment is relaxed and casual. Good food, but abysmal service. I usually order takeout from Ray's, and it takes a bit to get someone's attention to tell them I'm picking up a to-go order. But today I decided to go in and sit at the bar. I figured 1:45 on a Saturday wouldn't be too busy for Midtown Crossing--there were a solid number of tables filled, but I wouldn't necessarily have called it "busy". I took a seat at the bar and it took 10 minutes before someone even made eye contact with me. I finally let them know I wanted to place an order, they said "one minute," and then I left after being ignored for another 10 minutes. I don't normally leave negative reviews because it could be a one-off, but with the difficulties of picking up to-go orders as well, I think this place just needs to hire more people. Don't come here if you want a quick in-and-out bar meal. Two stars because the food is regularly good but I cannot suffer bad service any longer. read more

Sitting outside at the Night Market, we snagged the same table as last time. This is a great spot for listening to the live music. Last time we were here, Bookguy had chicken wings, which he thought had dry spots. He liked the sauce though. This time we ordered pizza --one 8" veggie and one 8" pancho billa. The veggie had cheese, mushroom, onion, green pepper, banana pepper, and black olives. The other pizza had Buffalo sauce, chicken, and ranch. Bookguy thought the flavors complimented each other without being too strong. The veggie was generously loaded with toppings whereby I had to use a fork to deconstruct a bit. I keep reading reviews stating that this restaurant has the best wings in Omaha.......well, obviously NOT TODAY. My better half wanted to eat here for her bday, so I figured... 'let's give it a shot.' From the gate, the waitress was slow to take our order (with only 4 other patrons in the building). When she came over, we all asked for waters. She comes back with the waters, sits three of them down... then spills the 4th on the table. She says sorry, then asks if we are ready to order. We all look at the puddle on the table and then back at her... "No ma'am, we need some time." She leaves and we proceed to the wipe the table off (mind you, the table is slanted and being held stable with a pair of napkins). She returns and we all place our orders. 2 BELT's (Bacon, Egg, Lettuce, Tomato sandwiches w/ Mayo on the side), curly fries, 10 wings Char buffed, 10 wings LunchBox style & an app of Pizza Logs. She leaves and we enjoy one of the many TVs throughout the establishment. The wait time was noticeable, but nothing worthy of complaining. She returns with the food and continues off to service other patrons. As for the food... Pizza Logs: Definitely a good concept (an egg roll with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese and a marinara dipping sauce), but they fried it so hard it was "hard as a rock". It took a knife to even get into the inside where the goodness was. 2/10 Curly Q's: Just regular ole curly fries. Same as the ones you can get from your local grocer's frozen section 3/10 BELT sandwich's: They are large in size and have a side of fries (that may ACTUALLY be the best in Omaha). The sandwich itself is very dry.. and they didn't give us the Mayo that is supposed to come with it.. sooo... I'll resort to reiterating that they have amazing REGULAR fries. 4/10 Char buffed wings: I was hoping for ''Oscar's amazing'' char buffed wings, but got the "someone left the chicken on direct heat for too long, at the family bbq" char buffed wings. They charred them for so long that they were literally flavorless. 2/10 LunchBox wings: There was no real definition as to what these were, so I don't know what I expected. I know what I got were some bland wings covered with a combo of a 'sweet' and an after taste of 'spicy sauce. They were very subpar, and nothing worth ordering again. Okay, these may be my favorite wings in Omaha! A friend called me up after church and asked to grab dinner! We were feeling wings and neither of us had been to this spot just a few blocks from my house in midtown. We walked in on that Sunday night, and it was probably around halfway full and we found a table in the back to sit at. There are plenty of TV's around and the space was clean. I ordered a 3/4 pound of boneless wings and took the recommendation of the server and went with the Lunch Box Sauce. It was delicious, and I've definitely been craving to go get them again. The people were nice, but the food was pretty subpar. The pizza sub was not good at all. It's honestly just sauce, cheese, and whatever topping on a hyvee style hoagie. It was burnt and was nothing special. It was disappointing since it said something about being a garlic bun but it wasn't. (I cant rememberthe exact verbage), which it definitely wasn't. The wings were okay. It was really saucey to the point that there was a puddle in the bottom of your basket. Waited 20 minutes to get the most flavorless salsa I ever had. It looked awesome, but nope, pass on it. I got the Korean BBQ bone in chicken, it was ok, better than that franchise wing place. I also had the cheese curds which we pretty good and a basket of fries, also pretty good. My partner wanted to do the wing challenge, but they said they were understaffed and couldn't accommodate us. The owner came in, stayed for about an hour or so and left, so why didn't he do it? It's his restaurant and I think it would have been a neat touch. But nope. It also made me wonder that if they are so understaffed, why would the owner come in stay and hour and a half and then leave. But, hey maybe he had commitments other than the restaurant. The first guy that waited on us us was kind of rude and talked super fast while usually walking away from our table, dude I get it, you're busy and don't have time for us, message received. He informed us that if we ordered in the next 10 minutes we still wouldn't get our food for a long time and that chips and salsa was the only thing we could get quickly. Which I ordered and 20 minutes later after ordering 2 more times, they came, they were NOT worth the wait. However, a nice young woman eventually took over our table and the service was way better. Overall the restaurant is kinda dirty, floors could definitely use some attention as well as the women's bathroom. The bar area was nice and shiny. If we're not meeting other people there, who suggested we go there, I honestly would have left after the rude waiter telling us the wait time would be long. Am I glad I stayed just because of the company of our friends, but I cannot say I would go there again. The owner seems to have no real spark for the place and at least one of his staff members wishes you would just leave so he won't have to deal with you. Not sure this is where you should help celebrate a 7 year olds birthday but the beer was ice cold and the buffalo X wings were hot. Wings were huge but fried perfectly and you weren't left trying to wipe your wing at the bottom of the basket for lack of sauce. Wings are good and they have a pool table! I had the XXX wings and they were a hot buffalo, not too crazy. I like the pilsner beer glasses and they have all of the normal beers on tap. Not really a craft beer hotspot but there was a pretty good selection of brew. The bartender was great but this place is enormous so she's got a lot of room to cover by herself! I was there on lunch so it was sufficient service for the time of day. TouchTunes is nice since I've got a large amount of credits added on another night at another club. Seems like I always overload them when the playlist is full, haha! If I'm ever back in Midtown I'd probably return. Between Oscar's, Salty Dog, and Ray's I'd say they're a close third. Salty Dog's smoked ghost pepper are my favorite. This place had a good amount of meat on the wings and more wings than drums. I always hate when places sneak too many drums in... Ray's Wings are some amazing quality wings. I have to say these are the best wings in town. They are a bit more expensive per wing than other places but the you get much better quality. For lunch they have a great all you can eat serve yourself buffet, This includes all of their sauces. Big crock's of the naked wings pick and choose your flats or drums and then add your own sauces. The sauces are decent and there are over a dozen I think. Rays has the best Garlic Parmesan sauce around. The service is fabulous and they have some newer staff now that are awesome!! I think midtown crossing is cursed. I felt like I was at a college bar with sub par wings, fries mushrooms and cheese curds. I drank a PBR and ate it. It was fine. Not good not bad. Definitely not good for you. The thing that stuck out to me the most was the 20 something staff giving horrible service to everyone. There were two ladies and a child seated in front of me, they ordered way ahead of me and my date got served ahead. The poor kid about 3 years of age was starving and it took another 15 minutes at least to get their food. Service lacked, food lacked. Not off to a great start. Also talked to the manager about the family in front of me and their service. She told me to talk to the owner. The owner flat out told me he just went to talk to that family.
