The pizza was amazing and so were the calzones but what topped it all was the amazing service of this family owned restaurant. My daughter accidentally knocked over a whole carafe of ice tea and broke the glass carafe and while she was very upset and crying the owner and his mother and their son all jumped in and comforted her and cleaned up the mess my daughter had made and made us feel right at home. I usually don't review chain restaurants but I think Ray's deserves special dispensation. My favorite New York pizza joint in town is Yo Pauly's and that place certainly hits every note almost every time. It's as close as you'll get to that place around the corner in New York City. That said, I've gotta give Ray's props. For whatever reason (and you don't need a reason), I was just craving a slice and a beer. I was up at Northsight (Hayden near the 101) and figured, what the heck. I've been to Ray's before and I didn't feel like going all the way down to Via Linda for Yo Pauly's. Ordered my two mushroom and cheese slices and a Bud Light. About five minutes later, I was diving into a lovely bit of deliciousness. Crispy crust, garlicy sauce, and the right amount of cheese (Just No! Pizza shouldn't have more cheese than crust!). About 30 seconds and a burnt roof of my mouth (that's supposed to happen), got a third slice and actually tasted it. It's not Romella's on Merrick Road in Valley Stream and it's not Joey's on Central, but it's pretty damn good. read more

Horrible, horrible customer service! I placed an order on their website at 1pm in the afternoon for a 5:15pm pickup. I arrived at 5:15pm, and was rudely told my order wasn't ready and that it was for a 6:15pm pickup. I showed the owner my email confirmation showing a 5:15pm pickup and he started screaming at me telling me that he doesn't care what my email said. I couldn't believe they would treat a customer like that. I called my credit card to dispute the charge and will never buy anything from there ever again. Extremely rude service.... went here twice to try to have them redeem themselves. The first time they served the wrong beer and garlic knots tasted like they were microwaved. But pizza was very good! I called in to order the second time, the guy was very rude the whole time and hung up as fast as he could. I ordered a pineapple jalapeño and mushroom pizza, which was repeated back to me several times and I confirmed it was pineapple. My fiancé went to pick up the pizza and they put pepperoni on it and argued with her saying she didn't order the pizza so she wouldn't know what was ordered. *she was sitting next to me while I ordered and listened on speaker* After going back and forth with them blaming us, they said "well what do you want me to do with these then?" ...... we don't eat meat so we could not accept the pepperoni. The overall experience 2x in a row was horrible. I hope whoever goes there has a better experience than us, but they seriously need to work on customer service. read more

I've been here multiple times and the customer service is always quite poor. Extremely bad attitudes from everyone that works here. Today will be the final time I order from this place. I placed an order online through their website (and got a confirmation the order was placed); got there 35 minutes later and they had no idea what I was talking about and were extremely rude, combative and had a bad attitude. They checked their system and found the order but didn't even apologize. I know it's thanksgiving but don't treat your customers badly just because you hate your life. So I've been eating this pizza for 20 years from this location. Tonight I order a pepperoni pizza and it was awful. For 20 years thats a good record except 27 dollars for a pepperoni pizza I thought to myself a little crazy so I called just to say just not up to par. So I call and the guy says bring it back and I'll give you your money back and I can go somewhere else. If it would make a difference! Not even hey sorry to hear that. Nice crust but not much flavor. The best by the slice was the sausage. The pepperoni tasted a little like it was frozen meat that might have changed the flavor a bit. I would have given 5stars but the wine choice tasted like cheap boxed white wine. A pizza place should always have at least one good red and white even if they charge a bit more. Authentic New York Pizza. I've been living in AZ for three years (transplant from Pennsylvania) and just discovered Ray's. From what I hear they are relatives of the NYC Ray's. Knowing my love of pizza and my search for an AZ favorite, a co-worker highly recommended that I try Ray's. Wanting to to see if the pizza was really as good as he claimed, I braved the never-ending strip mall/parking rodeo that houses this location and oh, I am so glad I did! Walking up to the door, I nearly swooned over the beautiful aroma of baking crust, garlic and red sauce. For me, it holds the same allure that "new car smell" holds for guys. Inside is even better! It is kind of a controlled chaos near the entry - lots going on but somehow it all works. The guys behind the counter were taking orders, handing out food and working 5 ovens that I could see at the same time - very impressive! Initially I was just going to try a slice, but decided I needed a whole pie all to myself! It was ready quickly, and I am very proud of myself that I did not immediately rip the box open in the parking lot. I managed to wait until I got home to savor the flavor! Of course I went with the pepperoni and mushroom new place test combo and I was very happy. Even reheated for lunch the next day, very tasty. Yay! read more

On our way out of Staples we couldn't help but become enticed by the smell of fresh baked pizza.. following our noses we saw the window.. frickin nice! It reminded me of some of the Asian places in San Francisco where you can see before you buy.. so many wonderful looking pizzas.. Ordered 3 slices and had seat.. this place is immaculately clean, huge kudos!! Pizza, cheese, pepperoni and a slice of cheese Sicilian.. all were really good, not like amazing or anything but very solid. I like the fact that they had herbs, parm cheese and garlic powder to dust your slices with. While I wouldn't go out of my way for Rays Pizza, Id certainly come back when in that neck of the woods. read more

In Scottsdale from out of town helping an ill friend. She wanted pizza, we ordered and waited for GrubHub to deliver. My order said pizza was delivered, it wasn't!! Called Ray's and the guy (very unenthusiastic) said it's not our fault, call GrubHub and complain and they will give you a refund. Never tried to make it right, never said sorry you waited 45 min for pizza and you're not getting anything, never offered to remake the pizza for pick up. Horrific customer service!! The owner always has the worst attitude and his employees are no better. I've had SEVERAL orders messed up by them, including Uber Eats that I've had to drive back for. They gave me a deep dish instead of a regular slice. When I drove back for my regular slice he had the nerve to say something along the lines of "and I won't charge you for this one" like he's doing me a favor. Ridiculous. Ordered a calzone and added pepperoni. My employee ordered the same thing. Once the two calzones were picked up and brought backwe began eating.... NO pepperoni. We called and were told we ordered incorrectly. I heard when the calzones were ordered, pepperoni was added. They forgot to add it and informed us we ordered wrong. The best they offered was for us to drive back, order calzones again, pay for them, and he would throw the pepperoni in for free. What he fails to realize is we chose Rays for lunch while working. I was generous giving even a one star rating to Ray's Pizza in Scottsdale. Is the lowest rating I could find. I've been a loyal customer at Ray's for seven years. The owner is the biggest asshole I have ever encountered in my entire life. I wouldn't here with a date two weeks ago and got two slices a piece, ask for water glasses and was rudely told if you get more than water in my charging for it.
