Absolutely amazing. From the views to the freshness of the menu, we came here BOTH nights when we were in Seward for dinner. The complimentary bread and oil/balsamic/ pine nuts were delicious. Lots of great specials and good portion sizes. Good list of local beers. We had the special scallops appetizer one night and the shrimp boat app another night- both great and a ton of shrimp in the app. Got the seafood salad both nights because it was that good. Good amount of cod, scallop and shrimp in it with plenty of fresh veggies. My dad had the salmon specials both nights and loved it. Will be back when back in town! read more

We were seated immediately and right by a window overlooking the marina. This was perfect as we were first-time guests to all of Seward. Service was a little slow, but we could see the restaurant was bustling, and our server was kind. We got our drinks, followed by crusty, fluffy bread, then our special appetizer a little later. We got the oyster plate, but the menu did not specify the quantity. We received 6 fair-sized oysters with a kind of red wine vinegar and spring onion dressing. This was unexpected as we are used to horseradish and cocktail sauce. We would have preferred horseradish and cocktail sauce, personally. We received our (halibut) fish and chips and the halibut special. The coleslaw and chips/fries were savory, but we were not big fans of the crunchy breading on the fish. We much prefer the breading on Humpy's version of the same dish. However, Ray's dill dip (I'm guessing) was delicious! The halibut special was fine, perhaps mildly overcooked. There was more of a chew than fluffy texture to the fish. The fruity beurre blanc (I believe) sauce was flavorful, though a tad excessive. The asparagus and butternut squash mash was palatable. In the end, we did feel things were overpriced for what we received. However, it was delightful to see wild otters and other sea creatures pop up during our meal. If I could do half stars this would be a 3.5 star rating. read more

I'm convinced that Ray's is the best option there is in Seward - it has such a welcoming atmosphere, the views are unmatched on the pier, and the food was amazing. Was it cheap? Definitely not. Thankfully, we got there on a day where all of the entrees were half off (I believe on Mondays), so that was a pleasant surprise, but I'm not sure how affordable coming here would be on a regular cadence. That being said, the location is super convenient (not that Seward is a large city, but you have plenty of space to walk around afterwards and you're close to all of the hotels in the area), the views of the mountains and water are incredible, and the food was well-cooked. We ended up ordering the seafood basket, the king crab legs, crab cakes, and the salmon, but I'd drop the king crab legs - I don't think there was enough meat to justify the exorbitant price tag, even at 50% off. Had the Seafood Linguine and it was a total waste of money. 3 medium shrimp, 2 small scallops, NO Cod, about 6 small pieces of zucchini and a ton of mushrooms. Little to no flavor. Basically pasta with water and mushrooms. The berry crisp for dessert was instead rhubarb crisp. Thankfully I enjoy rhubarb but some people might be disappointed thinking they will get berries. First off the dining room opens at 4 but the bar is open prior. They don't take reservations but when we showed up at 4 to have an early dinner we had a 15-20 min wait due to bar patrons moving over to tables. We had a party of 7 so they had to put two tables together. The place was busy but our server was great. He had my kids food out fast and the main dishes were soon to follow. I will say the prices are very inflated for what you get. Nothing was spectacular food wise but when in Seward you don't always get in at your first choice restaurant. We went to Ray's based on the recommendation of the young woman who rented us our car at Enterprise in Anchorage. She really knows her stuff! The seafood chowder was delicious and the bread pudding was "not to be missed." We asked what kind of bread they use for the bread pudding and was told it's the same delicious bread they served with our chowder. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. Somehow we ended up In what has to be the best table in the house, overlooking the harbor. This made a great addition to our scenic drive to Seward. read more

Glad we got first in line because we went during dinner time which they opened at 1600. Line was already piling up at 1530. Our table was amazing as it was next to the window with the GREATEST VIEW EVER. The mountains with glaciers, the port and seeing people coming off the boat from fishing and from site seeing. Seals were popping their heads and people passing by going fishing and coming back from fishing. The food overall was great. Went twice during my stay in Seward. Impeccable service each time. I loved the atmosphere and the view of the marina is unmatched. There is nothing better than dinning and watching sea otters swim around. Incredible! Food was even better. The seafood was fresh and the meals were hot. 5 star service, 3 star food, so we're averaging out to 4! Service from the host stand to the servers was great. Friendly, accommodating, and on point, particularly for how busy it was (and is all the time). At 5:30 on a Saturday it was a 45min - hour long wait. We were happy to be seated next to the window with a beautiful view of the harbor and the mountains behind. Two of us split the crab dip, which was served with perfectly flavorful crostini and was definitely the highlight of the meal. For entrees we had the cioppino and halibut piccata. The cioppino was curiously served over linguine, so more of a soupy pasta than a stew and was totally fine. The halibut piccata was also curiously topped with a lot of mushrooms and was slightly over cooked and not overly flavorful. Not bad, but not great for $40. We split the crème brûlée for dessert which had a nice custard base but wasn't particularly bruleed. I'd heard mixed reviews of this spot, so my expectations were met. The service and setting were definitely the best part! Probably won't be back, but it's such a popular spot, I'm glad I tried it. read more

I am not sure why people rave about this place. The prices are ridiculous and the food is not great. The calamari were super super greasy you could tell there oil needed to be change. The rosemary chicken plate needs work, my mash potatoes were full of just potato skins. The broccolini was so bland and the chicken was good but it was in a bath of sauce. They say bread is complementary but it was not because we were charged for seconds which was the only thing great other then the halibut. read more

We came on a Saturday night right after the sightseeing boats unloaded, so had to wait 20 minutes, but was worth it. Nice atmosphere with a view of Resurrection Bay, fresh flowers at the tables. This was one of the best meals we had on our vacation to Alaska! We arrived right as they opened at 4:00 and there was a short line outside. We were able to get a table up by the windows looking out on the water it was a perfect ambiance and environment for Seward - we watched a sea lion playing as we waited for our dinner! We came here last night for dinner after a day fishing...great experience all the way around and the only reason they lost a star was for the way over cooked salmon I ordered. We had a pretty large party and I was very impressed how well the restaurant did with handling our party. They played it smart and has some extra help with the bus boy who was on top of it and kept everyone happy as well as our waiter did an outstanding job as well. We started off with some great appetizers that consisted of fresh oysters, calamari, fresh shrimp and roasted garlic with roasted baguettes. My favorite was both the calamari and roasted garlic which both where outstanding, but also had a cup of their seafood chowder which was unlike a traditional clam chowder and instead of clams had fresh seafood....worth the calories for sure. For dinner I had the cedar plank Alaskan salmon with fresh veggies. The flavors were great but my salmon was way over done. This was a little disappointing since it was the main thing I was looking forward to. Either way all around great experience and truly enjoyed our visit. read more

I was pleasantly surprised! We had been here before and it was less than mediocre. Seward really doesn't have any fantastic places to eat in my opinion. We came here with a large group as it was about all we had for options. We ordered the blue cheese, garlic appetizer and it was really good BUT they give you like the smallest petri dish of melted blue cheese that's enough for like two pieces of bread. Meanwhile you have enough roasted garlic and bread for 18 people...weird ratio. They need to give more cheese to make this dish worth it. The seafood chowder was good, but needed salt and pepper. The ahi however was over cooked and dried out, total bummer. The seafood fettuccine was seriously good enough to bathe in. I will be going back for that little heart attack in a bowl. Overall, it was a good experience, service was great for having a large group and I'm happy I have a place to go when there I can count on a good meal. read more

This was definitely the highlight of our Alaska trip, food wise. Waterfront views, great food, and very reasonable prices? No wonder this place was packed. It's not cheap but $18-$30ish for seafood and that view? About the same or less than we paid at hotel restaurants that were no where nearly as good. We all ordered different things and everything was great. My cousin had the Halibut Andamann with coconut curry sauce. She LOVED it and said it was one of the best things she has every eaten. I tried some, it wasn't really my kind of dish but I think it is excellent for people who enjoy Thai seasonings. I had the copper river salmon which had an incredible lobster sauce. It was the special of the day and was SO SO GOOD. I opted for the mashed potatoes instead of the rice and that was an awesome idea as the mashed potatoes were some of the best I have had. Delicious. Somehow we saved room for dessert share. The "chocolate praline fantasy" hit the spot perfectly and had just a tiny bit of salt that made it perfect. The bread was also fantastic and the wine was well priced. Overally, a great dinner. Highly recommended if you are in Seward and well worth the wait (no reservations). read more

I understand COVID-19 has dramatically impacted supply chains and has lead to staff shortages, but wait times for appetizers and the meal were egregious, taking nearly an hour and a half from being seated to get food. I can't say the payoff was worth it either, as the cedar plank salmon I waited for was over cooked, dry, and flavorless. Our poor waiter sadly informed me I would have to wait even longer for a replacement, so I decided it wasn't worth it.
