Always a great option for a quick lunch if I didn't bring one with me to work. Close by and convenient!

It's close and convenient. I'm a soup a holic. They have usually 2 soups a day such as tomatoe bisque and chicken noodle. Got one of the sweeter apple spinach salads too. What you see in the photos below was enough for lunch and breakfast.

Best Reuben sandwich anywhere in San Diego in my opinion. Probably due to the Boers Head meats.

Incredibly slow for a place that just sells boars head sandwiches. Not worth the extra time you'll spend here waiting.

Spill the Beans has completely ruined every other coffee shop for me…read more I'm here every single morning, and there's a reason. The bagels are larger, fluffier, and have this perfect subtle sweetness -- rumor has it they're boiled in agave syrup, and honestly, it shows. The Lox, Stock & Bagel hits different when the bagel itself is this good, and the McLovin is worth every bite too. The rotating selection keeps it fresh enough that I genuinely look forward to switching it up. Then there's the Basic Sitch -- don't let the name fool you. Best Caramel Macchiato I've had anywhere. Parking is a bit of a pain bit of you are in waking distance or come early enough it shouldn't be an issue. Sometimes they run out of items if you come later in the day. They have a special Bagel of the month, so make sure to ask what it is. They have several bagel flavors, and different flavor cream cheese spreads. I love the habanero bagel, it's one of my favorites, but just be warned it is very hot. Definitely don't eat it without something cold to drink. They also have a breakfast sandwich called the San Diego which is a favorite of several people I know. You chose the bagel you want it with and they add fried eggs, bacon, cheese and aioli. I highly reccomend it. I've not had a lot of their deinis, but i did order the cinna-bee which has honey, cinnamon, espresso and milk. I thought it was good and would order it again. Definitely check them out and try some of their bagels, or perhaps one of their sandwiches.

StB was actually not foreign to me before my initial visit - one of my friends who loves SD as much as I do had been here before with great things to say. They have several locations in the SD area, and the one here is pretty small - it's really just a walk-up space but that's fine since it fits the vibe of Seaport Village. The menu contains a variety of beverages as well as some breakfast/lunch sandwiches. The biggest standout for me was their cold brew made with chaga - I totally needed to look that up while waiting in line and learned it was a type of fungus. I wasn't in an adventurous mood, so I went with their standard cold brew with a little almond milk. The beverage was good - nothing too special but just a really good solid coffee. Service was good, and overall I was feeling the vibe of this place. I enjoyed my experience, and wouldn't hesitate to return next time I'm in SD.

I also liked that they had a Chaga Cold Brew for $8.25. I appreciate a more natural kinda morning high in my morning caffeination. It was delish and huge! My friend and I also shared the McLovin ($13) breakfast sandwich which was so packed with ingredients, there was no way it couldn't be tasty. Scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage patties, cheddar cheese and maple butter made for such an indulgent, protein packed breakfast. Loved the food and vibes at Spill the Beans! I'll absolutely pop in again next time I'm in Seaport Village!

Can be a lil salty on the top where the salt is but contrast with parts that dont have it. Egg sando 5/5: yummy and filling, has cucumber and the milk bread is thick and so fluffy! Chicken katsu sando 5/5: my favorite. I love the spicy mustardy sauce not sure if it's in the actual brown katsu sauce or separate mustard. My bf didnt like it but i loved it! Chicken also juicy and soft. The milk bread is so fluffy and lil sweet and perfect pairing. I did enjoy the egg one much more as the katsu one had a strong vinegary sauce that was overpowering the whole sando. Service/Ambiance 4/5: There was plenty of seating and the workers were nice. We were really hoping to try the shrimp sando but they were out. Don't think I will be coming back to try it though.

Of course, the meats are tougher to replicate, but this is the absolute BEST vegan bacon I have ever had. The sausage is great too. The sandwiches are good, but I think that the last time we went they had a heavy mustard hand because it's all I could taste. I would skip the Turkey-Bacon Club and get the Reuben instead. I'm looking forward to trying the BLT and the hot dogs! The cream cheese is reeeeeally good too. We tried the Jalapeno and the Bacon-Scallion. I recommend getting one of those added to your bagel sandwich.

Oh Nomad Donuts how I love you. This place is a local gem that offers craft donuts, breakfast…read moresandwiches, and fun rotating drinks. My favorite part of the start of a new month is checking their monthly drink and donut specials. This month nothing really called my name but they did have a weekend special that really appealed to me. I have had some of their bagel style sandwiches before and ohhhh goodness they are good. This time it was my favorite style of sandwich, a bahn mi. I had high hopes because of the picture they posted on their social media and just the level of creativity they usually bring. Considering it's North Park, I knew ordering online would be the best option and picking up. My estimated time was 15-20 minutes but it only took them under 10. I got an order ready notification before I even left the house. I got there and it was dead, maybe one other person in and out. There's a lot of seating inside and some outside on their patio. They also have different counters for ordering and pick up which helps speed things up. My experience with service was very transactional, nothing bad just nothing to really highlight. Let's talk about this bahn mi. It's promoted as marinated and charred pork shoulder, house made sweet aioli, nuoc cham compound butter, pickled carrot and daikon, mint, cilantro, and jalapeño on a locally sourced Paris baguette. First off, nuoc cham compound butter?? YES. That is the kind of creativity I love to see. I got my sandwich and the wrapper was pretty oily so the sandwich itself looked kind of glossy. The whole thing felt a little rushed, like everything was just thrown on. I will say I wasn't expecting a generous amount of meat but they delivered in that aspect. I first wanted to try the compound butter on its own and it had a slight nuoc cham flavor, but in the sandwich it didn't really stand out past all the bolder flavors. Now if you've seen my other reviews, the best part of a bahn mi to me is the pickled daikon and carrots. These might be the best I have ever had anywhere. They are exactly how I prefer them, sweet with a slight acidity and THICK CUT. The crunch on these... please let me buy a whole jar. The bread was alright, they mention they source it locally so it's not made in house, but mine leaned a little old and I could tell through the texture. The pork was marinated really well, I do wish some of the pieces were more charred because you could see where some of it didn't hit direct flame. This also came with a side of what tasted like a hoisin vinaigrette. I liked the creativity but felt like the sandwich didn't need it. It was way too acidic and strong and there's not much need for that sharp vinegar hit here. I paired my bahn mi with a miso caramel matcha latte. This was expensive, a 12oz for $8 is steep even for matcha. It was good but not amazing. It leans more sweet than matcha forward. The miso caramel actually surprised me though. At other cafes it usually comes off more like a salted caramel, but here it had more depth, slightly savory, and when mixed with the milk it came out really creamy and smooth. The matcha was a little grainy though. Overall I will definitely be back and will keep my eye out for more specials because that's where they really shine. And seriously, if they ever let me buy those pickled carrots and daikon by the jar, I'm there immediately.
