Finally got to try this place! I originally ordered on the website 2 lunch portion which contains chicken and koobideh with rice. But upon pick up, I asked if it was enough to feed 2 adults and a teen and the lady at the counter it was good enough for 3 people but I ordered another just in case. First of all, kinda nice I got to order the lunch combo for dinner. A few bucks less than shareable and it came with a drink. It is pricey but so are fast foods these days. The chicken was very flavorful and juicy, it goes well with the rice. The koobideh was a miss for me, not as flavorful as I was expecting. I've been to the San Jose location many many times and the koobideh is just not the same. With that being said, my son, who has been craving for Persian food for a while now says if we can't go to Persian Room, we will just have to order a catering rice and a bunch of chicken kabobs "you can't really go wrong with their rice and chicken!" It's unfair to compare this place to Persian Room. It's like comparing a pick up restaurant to a well known sit down establishment. I'm sure they are still working out all their quirks as they are still new, but this will be our new go to Persian restaurant. You might ask why 3 stars when I definitely recommend this place. Let's start with the food. The food is definitely quality. The chicken was tender and I didn't have to cut out ligaments or large pieces of fat like some places. The same went for the steak. The Koobideh was tender and not overly fatty or tough but like the other meats they were in my opinion under seasoned. I get that seasoning level is highly subjective but there are a couple of other places in the area that I consider well seasoned. Both of which if my only choice was the Koobideh I would choose first. My choice here would be the chicken and or the steak. Both entrees came with rice that was light and fluffy. Like most Persian restaurants the veg is one tomato. It would have been nice to have some onions and fresh mint though to go with the lavash. Although I'm more a Greek pita kind of guy. But, that's a personal preference. The lavash was good and doesn't overwhelm the meat. The service. They are busy so you are going to want to order online. When I came in the workers were busy filling orders, including mine. It took a few minutes for them to stop and ask if I was ordering or had put in an order online. One kid was pretty good at keeping things going and making sure that the orders were filled properly. Well, that's what it sounded like. The problem with carry out is you take it on faith that what's in the bag is what you actually ordered. When I got home I found that one of my orders had chicken and not steak. Although I only live 15 minutes away from the store it's not like you want to drive back and correct things when everyone is hungry and you aren't allergic or offended by chicken. That and the app I used had a fairly large discount. The appetizer combo. It consists of a few ounces of Hummus, some tatziki and some cucumber salad. In my opinion a small amount of all of these should actually be included with each meal. Since I used uber eats and they had a special where if you spent x you got the appetizer combo free, so it actually did, but if you don't use the app it won't be free. In other reviews people complain about the price. The one entree that includes the 3 meats could easily feed 2 adults if not three. With the 2 entrees we fed 3 adults and one a 6'4" 240 pound 21 YO. A few others complained about the "limited" menu. This isn't The Persian Room. For the limited space the menu has pretty much the most popular items of every Persian restaurant. You're not coming here for date night or a birthday or anniversary celebration. This is not a place where you're going to bring a date or sit down and enjoy a meal at the restaurant. The tables are more suited for taking your SAT's than eating lunch or dinner. You can eat there but it's not even like Taco Bell or Mc Donald's. If I were alone and looking for a quick lunch I'd eat at one of the tables. Half of the restaurant space has what looks like the set of a house band. That's because the owner moved his band out of the garage or basement and has invited musicians to come jam with him on Tuesday nights after the restaurant closes. In my opinion they close too early. 7:00 PM is pretty much when I start thinking about dinner. But as the owner said, when I had a conversation with him. You can pick up the food most anytime they are open and serve it when you're ready. Don't let my 3 stars keep you from trying the place. There are plenty of reasons to eat here or at least try it and see if the spice levels are to your taste. The sign outside says they have a very large number of 4 or more star reviews so odds are pretty good you're going to like it. And I liked it too. Food was good, but service was a miss for me. There are additional items on the menu, but the staff doesn't know about them and doesn't have signage in the restaurant about them. You have to go on your phone. I saw lots of instruments set up, like they are going to start live music- but the staff doesn't know. I ate my food there and every time a customer comes in the staff asks "are you here for a pick up order." Several people who came in we're not there for a pick up order and you could tell they felt unwelcomed..... They were like "can we eat here," "I was just in the area and wanted to try, does it have to be pick up only." Just say ,"welcome, how can I help you..." This is very basis customer service. I'm sure why they do t know this. Sweet peppers seemed out of place. I don't believe that is authentic. However, kebabs were very juicy and I like that they give you sumac on the side. Portions were large. They serve everything on paper, plastic, Styrofoam etc. I'm ok with that, but I know many dinners who would expect better for the price you pay. Overall, I would be back because the next best Persian place is in the desert ridge area and this is closer to me. Stopped in since it just recently opened near our house. Inside is very casual and spacious. The cashier was very friendly. We ordered 2 of their lunch specials which comes with a plate, drink and small side w/ pita. The food was good but portions are definitely lacking. $15 for one kabob and rice. Nice to have a kebab shop in the neighborhood. However, this fast food version leave a little to be desired. The food itself was OK, but not that authentic. The young man is running the counter and the Cash Register was super polite and helped us through deciding what on the meeting would be best for us. New Kabob place in Chandler! Recently opened sister store of their other location in San Jose. Great looking menu and the gentleman behind the counter gave me the rundown on what's what. I went for the Combo meal of Chicken and Beef Koobideh with rice along with Shiraz Salad. Both meats were flavorful and very moist. The portions were not large and at $24 bucks might have been nice to have a few more vegetables then just one Roma tomato. The food was just ok. The standout was the chicken which was moist and tender. The koobideh was flavorless and lacked seasoning and spices. The steak was thin and also lacked flavor. I was excited about trying this place out but sadly was disappointed with the expensive price point and overall experience. The tables and chairs are cheap and uncomfortable for a place that is charging so much for so little. The service was friendly but it took a good 20 minutes to get my food which in this drab waiting/dining area was simply not worth it. The size of the salad and hummus was ridiculously small. I'm from Seattle and we've got the best mom and pop owned Persian restaurants back home, so I was craving Persian lamb rack, unfortunately they don't have lamb here (why I dropped a star!), but I saw that they were new to the area and the menu looks great. Well, my husband and I were SO glad we tried them out. The food is delish and makes for great leftovers as their portions are large. This could be a good/bad thing, just depends on appetite. We did have to wait 15+ mins for our order, so maybe not the best place for lunch if you're in a pinch but if you give them a shot, you'll be so happy you did. Situated in an easy to get to strip mall with plenty of parking, this is THE place to come for fresh, authentic Persian food. We happened upon this place on the day of their grand opening, there were drums set up for a party later in the eve. We learned that this is a family owned place and that their other restaurant is in San Jose, CA. We ate hummus while we waited, delicious! We tried just about everything: chicken, beef, and the cabob, all very good and fresh off the grill. The sides were perfect to add a different taste to it all, and I loved the roasted tomatoes, too! I came into this place as I love Persian food and we had the koobideh plate with a side of cucumber yogurt. Unfortunately the koobideh was unedible. The texture of the meat was Jell-O like and appeared to be made mostly of fat or gristle. The rice was bland but the Shirazi was great. The pita bread that comes with the meal appears to be store-bought and lacks flavor and texture. The price of the food was not reasonable and was expensive, but I was willing to pay as like I said I love Persian food.
