I was curious about this place and went off reviews, since this was located near my house. I gave 4 stars because the time to wait for my food to go was so long. The restaurant itself could use an up date but other than that the staff was friendly, attentive, and they were busy with a lot of to go orders. Now to the food, I ordered summer rolls aka spring rolls these were fresh and so good, but the peanut sauce could be better but it hit the spot. This place has a very homey feel . It's a family run restaurant. Went here on a Friday evening with my family. Order the egg roll and fried calamari. The egg roll was good ! The filling remind me of my moms back in the days , just your traditional filling. The calamari is ok . The kids had fried shrimp and a kids pho . My oldest seems to like the shrimp and the younger one like his pho . My wife had the shaken beef . Good season on it but she had it well done , she seems to like it . The food was great. This would of been a four star review but unfortunately the service was bad. There is a young boy who was handling the serving, cashing out customers and sometimes running food out. All the while we waited for him to come back and take our order but he seems to have forgotten about us. I don't blame him since he's so young but I do blame the manger which I'm assuming is his parents. I had to get up and walk up to the cash register to remind them we needed service. After we ordered and got our food we never got any more attention. I'll be coming back since I'm a fan of pho, I think they may have just had a bad night. Also, the cheese wontons sucked. read more

English isn't the first, or probably second language here... it makes ordering difficult. I really wanted bubble tea or Vietnamese coffee, but the server couldn't tell me if they used real milk or if I could get it with soy/coconut etc. DANG IT! We ordered the beef combo pho, and a beef ban mi sandwich to split. The pho, while it had plenty of meat and noodles it was blah... not much flavor at all. Even adding the jalapenos didn't do much. This is the place to go for pho when you are particularly hungover, or are sick.... on a normal day eh. The Ban Mi Sandwich was pretty good, I would give it a top three of all the Vietnamese sandwiches I have had so far in SA. It had much more flavor then the Pho. read more

I called in my order tonight and went to pick up my order of Combination PHO as I always order for pick up. The lady took my credit card and charged me for the order. Instead of handing me the order she had her son/grandson place it on the table behind me to grab! I see her son/grandson behind her helping her with English. I then continued to grab my order to go and noticed a mobile phone on the table next to my food. I picked up my food and some chop sticks and did not think anything of it( must belong to the owner, I thought )as its at a table where they are preparing the silverware. I then proceeded to walk out of the door when this young boy was practically screaming at me to stop and running after me accusing me by asking me where his phone is?!! I was livid this kid is accusing me of stealing his phone! He misplaced it on a table and did not know where HE put it and is now accusing me of taking it as I had to grab my order that he placed next to his phone and his EYES cant see it. He even looked at my bag to see if I was carrying his phone. I went back into restaurant and showed his ignorant self where he placed his own phone and he looked shocked that I didn't take it and he misplaced it on his own table And there were customers in the restaurant while this was taken place. This is a simple pho shop with a pretty good variety of Vietnamese food. I feel like good Vietnamese restaurants barely exist here in San Antonio, but my family and I enjoy this place. It looks like there's plenty of parking. Some faded labels of parking spots for certain stores/restaurants but since they're faded I'm not sure if it still applies or how it really works. The staff is friendly. A little shy and timid, but they are nice and sweet. Their service is like a typical Vietnamese place which doesn't bother me. They take your order, bring out your food, and may refill your water. Most of the time you'll probably have to try and flag them down for any attention. When done, you go up and pay at the register. The food we have tried is fantastic. We tried the wonton soup, special rice plate, and bun bo hue. All is great and portions are decent. The bun bo hue could be a little spicier, it's kind of on the sweet side to me. It's my favorite dish so I've had better but this place isn't bad and is enough for me to get my bun bo hue fix. Eventually we would love to try other stuff on the menu. Prices are fair. Average is about $8-$10/dish. We would come back any time we craved Vietnamese food and didn't want to cook it ourselves. read more

First pho place we tried in San Antonio and it was great! We were on the go so our order was to-go. Hubby got the brisket and steak pho while I got the beef bon hue. The pho broth was delicious and my husband thought the same. He isn't into pho but ate some because he didn't want Sonics Lol. It was my first time trying beef bon hue and it was okay. I think I'm going to stick with my usual. It's not that I didn't like it, I just prefer pho noodles over vermicelli. We also had their summer rolls. Theirs come with pieces of shrimps and pieces of pork. It was alright, we had better. It was missing some components such as mint, basil, cilantro leaves or lemon grass. It was made with shredded lettuce, shrimps, pork, and noodles also we could do without the pork. Will probably try their spring rolls next time! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Marvelous Banh mi and it's actually lean meat, which is a rarity in San Antonio. The seafood pho is perfectly seasoned and has plenty of shrimp, squid, whitefish and scallops. The real star is the vermicelli. The house special (bun dac biet) is hands down, the best I've ever had in Texas. Really wonderful Vietnamese style spring rolls round out the entrees our family has tried from this delightful little restaurant. There were several pros and cons to this restaurant. In regards to the pro's, the restaurant had excellent customer service. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the manager who made us felt at ease and conversed with us. The food was brought rather quickly, and everyone was very nice. In addition, their Taro bubble tea was excellent, by far I must say it has been the best bubble tea I have had in San Antonio so far. But in regards to their food, taste and quality, I was very displeased with my steak and meatball pho I had. My coworker had gotten the chicken Pho which tasted pretty decent, but my steak and meatball pho was a disappointment. The broth, tasted good, and we received a lot of noodles, more noodles than meat I must say, for my soup, I only had about 3 small meatballs and the steak was on the side. I was discontent with the steak and I have attached a photo below so that you can see, but the steak seemed raw to me, there was still blood on it, and I was automatically disgusted with it. Therefore, overall, the customer service is excellent but in regards to the plates, I would be carefully ordering the steak pho, the chicken pho was ok not as good as compared to other places. We did receive a lot of vegetables to put into our pho, but the steak just ruined my overall experience for this restaurant. The bubble teas taste great and are in large sizes. read more

Even asked if I wanted it without the tapioca balls which I thought was nice since I always just leave them in the cup. I ordered the combo pho- it was delicious! My wife and I are pretty new to San Antonio and noticed Real Pho "coming soon" near our home. I've never had Vietnamese food but my wife has and one day while looking for something to eat the Real Pho was NOW OPEN! We had to try it. My wife went in and ordered Pad Thai and some other dishes and got me spring rolls and Pho which was pretty awesome. The Pho was filled with all kinds of vegetables and came with a large serving of rice noodles. I'm sad she didn't get me a boba drink but I definitely will make this my "go-to" for my boba fix! I ate there with some friends on Friday night, our waiter was more concerned with checking his phone than checking on us, the grandma kept staring at us so I understand it's a family business but she went damn out of her way to stare us down, made me very uncomfortable eating my food or much less having to walk past her to pay the bill. I really think whether it's a family business or not they should keep their relatives out of the dinging area for their patrons, the interaction just rubbed me the wrong way. Food was good but I'm not going to break my leg doing back over there unless I'm invited by someone. The food was definitely was definitely good but I'm hoping my second visit is different next time.
