We visited the Real seafood for restaurant week. We wanted to try a few things not on the restaurant week menu. We started with the Brussel sprouts, they were delicious, probably the best Brussel sprouts I've ever had.i also had the smoked salmon salad which was good along with the salmon. Our food took a while to come out considering it was restaurant week the kitchen was a bit backed up. We stopped in at 8:50pm on Saturday night, just a party of 2. Devan the hostess, was immediately very unsure about getting us a table, yet there were 8 noticeable available tables that were clean and set up. After almost 10 minutes of waiting, we watched Devan and a few servers talking and looking at us. Their vibes fully gave off that It's Saturday night, and everyone is trying to get out of work and go out. Plus to top it off, we are an interracial couple... giving them more reason not to want to wait on us. I walked over and questioned what time they close, and they replied with 11:00 (even more questions then arose since they are open for another 2 hours with a ton of empty tables). I made them aware that I'm a veteran server and bartender and I was sure what there conversation was about. Another few minutes went on and they still had not returned to us, to seat us. So we decided to make our way elsewhere. We are very easy going and because of being in the service industry, we always tip 25-50% on all restaurant and bar tabs. We walked across the street to the chop house and were immediately greeted at the hostess stand with extra friendliness and a great smile, seated right away, and had our drinks within 2 minutes of walking thru the door. I have never dined in at real seafood and I was quite excited to have my first experience. After tonight, I will never return to try their restaurant, nor would I recommend it. read more

Restaurant week special for two was a good value and there is a fun happy hour including raw oysters and craft cocktails plus a nice atmosphere. Service was fine but the kitchen had to have a do over on cooking their walleye so the entire serving was evenly cooked plus the kitchen forgot to put crab in she crab soup with the salad choice much better as a first course . The kitchen / chef are lazy or understaffed. 4 stars anyways as they are trying hard in tough times for restaurants with years of excellence earning then a pass for imperfection. read more

This place was delish. Everything was 5 star from the moment we walked in. We were sat right away and our waitress (Kelly, I think) was absolutely amazing. She understood our humor and understood out wants. She went above and beyond the entire night. Our food took awhile and she kept apologizing, she ended up giving a free dessert for the inconvenience. The moment I walked into the door, it was super crowded. Almost all the seats were taken. We were seated by a table of 12 and it was very tight. I sat next to the heat and I was already wear a light dress. This was definitely one of the worse experience I had. However, the service was pretty quick and efficient. My boyfriend and I ordered the Steak and Lobster and the entree was amazing. The steak was cooked at a perfect medium rare. I didn't like using the butter since it was too dense for me. Before the entree, I ordered the salad. I was pretty upset when I saw the salad since it was FILLED with cheese. I took a few minutes to take off as much cheese as I could. I only had one crouton and one tomato. My boyfriend has three croutons and zero tomatoes. We both felt heavy and gross after eating the salad since there was so much cheese. He and his family were declined seating by a staff member and manager even though the restaurant was over 60% vacant, claiming reservations held the remaining seating. At 4:00pm. First of all, let me say the food was excellent. However, we came for a family celebration in a private room. We were presented with event menus that did not have prices for the items. We were told that the salad was a first course. No one ordered a salad, since many had ordered appetizers. Everyone was served a salad they did not order. Everyone was charged $4.95 for the salad they did order. There were many corrections necessary before the bills were correct. The room was cold, almost too cold for us to be able to enjoy our food. Came here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. The food was unfortunately quite disappointing. We shared the seafood alfredo as well as the paella. The Alfredo was very heavy so ended up not being able to finish it even with the two of us. It was overwhelmingly fatty and creamy to the point that it was no longer enjoyable after a few bites. The paella was very dry and flavorless. The rice was also undercooked as well. It was not warm when it was brought out to us which leads me to believe that it sat out for quite some time. Came back to real seafood, and for the most part my review does not change. Good fresh seafood, they do not do anything to screw it up, but, I do not feel they add any culinary excitement to their dishes. To start we ordered the seafood platter, for $50 you get a whole Maine lobster, a cup of crab louis, raw Tuna tartar served with guacamole on a toasted cracker served with and Asian ponzu type sauce, 6 pieces of shrimp cocktail, and 4 raw oysters served with cocktail sauce, horseradish, or their house vinaigrette that you can add to the oysters. Everything here was tasty, fresh, and raw from the ocean. We also ordered the real seafood sandwich which is a fried fish (Cod) sandwich served with Lettuce and tomato, and tartar sauce. Nice sandwich good portion for lunch. My wife ordered the lobster roll for $17.95, I was surprised to see it come with two rolls filled with lobster. My advice to the chef on these rolls would be less is more. I felt the rolls had to much mayo/cream and onions and it took away from the sweet lobster meat. Other than that it was ok. read more

The restaurant looks like it would fancy inside, but it wasn't. It has those old "grandma" style tablecloths so I think its fair to say the decor is a bit outdated. The food was alright. Everything is a kind of expensive, which is typical for seafood but I don't think the food was worth it. I ordered the battered shrimp and the shrimp did not taste fresh. Seafood should never taste fishy. As weird as that sounds, if it smells fishy, its not fresh. The vegetables were good but a bit soggy. I think it safe to say Red Lobster would be better. read more
