Great little coffee shop in La Crescenta! We were looking at houses here and in between decided to get some coffee. The Starbucks drive through line was CRAZY so we came here. This place was actually opened to the public as there was a man sitting, drinking his coffee. The worker said they were open but had limited hours and number of seating. I was going to get my standard cold brew but saw they had a couple of summer specials so I decided to try the cereal latte, which had milk soaked in cereal, with lucky charms marshamallows on top! I got my boyfriend a dirty chai. There was only the one guy working and several more people came in after me. He took the orders and made the drinks. He was quick and my iced latte was delicious! Nitro Cold Brew with half and half Upon arrival, the friendly staff asked if I've ever had the nitro cold brew to which I explained this was a first visit. The cashier explained that their cold brew is very special because of the bean having an almost wine flavor (he has a much better explanation but I can't recite here) and that the flavor of the nitro cold brew ends up tasting akin to a blueberry muffin. I was skeptical but excited. HE WAS 100% RIGHT. It tasted like a blueberry muffin with cream - refreshing coffee flavor on an already hot summer morning (it was in the 80s by 9:30 AM). The other day I decided to check out Reborn since I had driven by it on my way to work for a while! The service was great, and Nathan who took my order was so friendly and helped me decide what to get (an iced Nutella latte, highly recommend!!!). After asking about their housemade syrups, I ordered the cinnamon vanilla latte with oatmilk. The flavor profile was fine but probably could have used a bit more of their cinnamon syrup. The espresso was also weak so there really wasn't anything amazing about the drink, and it definitely was not worth $7. Got 2 drinks- Iced dirty chai and a strawberry matcha. They use a concentrate for their chai and it was pretty good- balanced 'spice' and sweetness. Was recommended this cafe by a local body shop to wait at while my car was being serviced. The staff is friendly, drinks are good (ended up getting 2) and they're actually following COVID protocols!! Everyone was wearing a surgical mask (not those thin cloth kinds) which was nice to see and the tables are properly spaced out! The matcha matter and caramel latte were perfect for the overcast. The drinks didn't come out burning hot (a personal pet peeve: when I have to wait 10 min before being able to sip) and weren't too sweet! They did have a couple rushes but handled it smoothly and the drinks came out fairly quickly. Most of their clientele seem to be grab and go customers but there were a few others that took advantage of their indoor seating. There's a patio with ample outdoor seating as well! read more

Great little coffee spot in La Crescenta. We stopped by for a quick coffee after a drive on Angeles Crest Forest and could help but notice that the place sells fantastic coffee beans. We got a cold brew (Guatemala) and Vanilla Latte and a bag of Guatemala beans for espresso. We also got Ham Croissant and Tomato danish. Cold brew was excellent with clean finish, you could tell beans were roasted fresh from the scent. Croissant and Danish were good but nothing outstanding. The prices are slightly higher than other coffee shops, but worth every penny. You are paying for better quality so it makes sense. But that's a testament to the in-depth service I received today--I was walked through the menu, all the way from what I might like based on my tastes, down to the coffee brewing process at large and what I should look for going forward. Coffee was delightful. Service was poor. The staff look so sad and are unfriendly. Their behaviour makes you unwelcome. The dark hair girl behind cashier that takes orders doesn't even bother to say where warm pastry or coffee comes out. She just takes the payment. They just let it sit on the counter till coffee and pastry gets cold. Funny thing they see you are standing there waiting for your order yet they don't say a word where it comes out till you ask after a while waiting. My fav coffee drink in recent memory. Their oat milk has such a nice, lush consistency that other places don't seem to match mixed w their tasty coffee but that came at the cost of over ~15$ for one 20oz and one 16oz iced oat milk latte -- at least that's what we were charged the first time we came. Oddly enough, the next time, I got a quad shot, per the baristas recc, and it came out to only 5.34. Possibly leans toward being slightly too trendy for this old school neighborhood and service was a bit wonky the first time we were here. They've been open for about 2 months now but clearly the first dude could use a bit o training. Yikes. They have a good assortment of milks (soy, almond, coconut, oat, macadamia) and we were suggested to try the macadamia nut milk but, as it turned out, they ran out... as the only person making drinks, you think they'd know that but whatever.. we both ended up gettin the oat milk and it was delicious, fortunately! Free parking in the small plaza lot wasn't too bad when we came but it is quite small. There's also free street parking. Limited seating inside (lots of outlets!)and out but there really was the putrid stank of sulfur outside and even the draft from people coming in and out made the inside a bit off putting. Came in this past Saturday around 4:30pm, we had quite a large order. Every table was actually taken and there were constantly customers flowing in and out for a late afternoon coffee. It was clean inside and felt very welcoming. Everything came out quick and was delicious. We ordered a Nutella latte both hot and iced, iced strawberry matcha latte , an americano, cold brew with cream, and hot early grey latte. The workers were super quick and kind, wish we got there names. Highly recommend stopping here for a coffee!! read more

They do seem to have a lot of other inventive drinks though that I would like to try so I haven't completely written this place off yet. I've been a frequent customer at Reborn since its opening, but the drink I just had was so good that it finally compelled me to post a review. The ambience makes this cafe an ideal study space, and the baristas are all outgoing, kind, and knowledgeable about their craft. The coffee itself, though, is above and beyond what you could find at a Starbucks. In my opinion, while it's a bit on the pricey side, Reborn is well worth it!! They are very knowledgable and will patiently explain the techniques and various beans used. This used to be an old Starbucks but it couldn't be more different now...it's been REBORN... Reborn is new to Southern California and I predict much success. This location just had their grand opening on December 2, 2017. Their next location will open in Corona De Mar next to Mayur restaurant. What's so different about Reborn? They start with the water. They call it "magienzed" - magnetic and energized and it's sourced from Palomar Mountain in So Cal. The coffee beans are "green bean conditioned" utilizing their special process of hand-processing optimal beans. They also feature "over class cold-brew extraction" for a strong and flavorful impression. Sitting in Reborn, that's the main thing I heard customers commenting on...the strong clean taste. And the employees...are not on their iPhones! They were actually passionately discussing...Coffee Bean Sourcing...true story. I've been to Reborn a few times, mainly when the line at the Starbucks is insane, and I always ask myself....why don't I come here more often? The coffee is excellent, each drink is made to order, and the service is kind and efficient. They've got the full array of dairy and non-dairy milks; my last drink was made with oat milk. There's plenty of inside/outside seating, as well as plentiful street and parking lot spots. Definitely a great coffee place to add to the rotation! read more
