The hvac system works fine but the customer service is AWFUL! The biggest issue is that two pvc lines were hung across a door cutting off access to an entire room of my house. Apparently nobody thinks this a problem. It was pointed out to the installer who told us to deal with it later. It took 5 calls from my husband and one extremely irate call from myself just to get an appointment to get it corrected. Well they actually sent a service call person and not an installer and the service guy was not able to do the job. We were told we would receive a call in the morning.... Yet again no call back. So at this point I still have no access to one of my rooms, and its halting progress in a renovation costing us time and money. Also, there were other issues I might have been willing to over look, but added all together are just really annoying. They're delivery men ripped down an electrical line on our street, left the live end in the middle of the road and 30 feet that had snapped off laying in my neighbors yard and left us to deal with it. We were told they would call half hour before they came, but they just showed up. They left our basement door open for over 3 hours letting leaves and debris to blow in and left us to clean it up. They were suppose to install a new thermostat and carbon monoxide detector, but they left them for us to install on our own. The installers were walking around with giant holes in the crotch of their uniforms, which is so not appropriate. The other major issue is they were specifically told not to move a particular piece of duct work because it would interfere with out renovations. The installers took it upon themselves to do it anyway and it is having a huge effect on the layout of the new room. Needless to say I am livid, and will never use Recker and Boerger ever again! I just hope at some point they will fix the pipes so I can get on with my renovations. read more

I called in to ask for a quote on 4 stainless appliances for an investment house. I talked with a guy named Jerry. He was rude and short with me. He told me that he couldn't quote me on the units I wanted unless I went on the website and told him specifically what I wanted. I had no problems making this same request with HH Gregg and Best Buy. I told him I was very short on time and would be open to suggestions and to just give me a few options and prices. He refused. He then told me I would be difficult to work with and would prefer not to talk with me! read more

Absolutely horrible! Nobody in the shop seemed interested in trying to help me, I was treated very rudely and I am glad that I did not purchase anything at all. In addition I am confident that I witnessed one of the senior employees abusing drugs inside the office, a very shady place indeed. read more

Well, I don't remember the last time I wanted to hurry home to review such poor service! I went there hoping to find a refrigerator that was less than 35", reviewed THEIR website, and picked out some Samsung refrigerators that would fit what I was looking for. So I go and they have GE, Fridgidaire & Electrolux out the ears, but not many Samsungs (they didn't have the model on the floor I was looking for). The guy said he would go and call his supplier to see if they can get the model # I was looking for and he came back after a few minutes and said they COULD NOT get the refrigerator. I was very surprised and disappointed as it was on THEIR website and he said they couldn't help me. Oh, but they had plenty of GE's & such which did horribly in reviews after reviews I looked at online. He had an "oh well" attitude that really turned me against ever buying from Recker & Boerger for anything! This was just the Montgomery Road location. I really don't want to bash any other location because they might have a lot better salespeople who actually care to make a customer happy. read more

If you don't mind paying $300 an hour for labor charge this is the place to go with since I'm partly disabled & can only work 20 hours a week that's a lot of money to me and when I asked for a idemized bill they said couldn't do that but the tec would call & explain it to me guess what he never called The tech did do a great job he cleaned out my air exchanger but there was no itemization on my bill so I don't know how much the parts and labor and breakdown was read more

An AC tech came out twice to fix my air conditioning unit that stopped running. He was very professional and polite. I needed new coils and they were able to put them in the next day. The cost was less than another company and he quickly got it running again. He also spent extra time with no extra charge helping to get more air to the upstairs. I was very satisfied and would definitely recommend them. read more

I recently had a washer and dryer delivered to my house. My husband and I waited until our 1992 dryer went caaput before we decided to get new ones. Just so happens it was a Friday afternoon. I called Recker and Boerger spoke with an intelligent sales man he gave me a great price and was able to deliver and install the next day! It all worked out perfectly. I was extremely impressed with how professional the delivery guys were. They took the time to explain to me about the new washer and dryer and were very efficient workers. Recker and Boerger is at the top of my list! I will recommend them to anyone. read more

I was interested in knowing whether it made sense to repair my current stovetop, or if I needed to buy a new one. The salesman would hardly even let me finish talking before telling me he didn't sell parts. He was very unhelpful and uninterested in helping me buy a new stovetop. I purchased a top of the line Electrolux front load washer from them last year based on their recommendations. It is still under warranty and is broke. Recker & Boerger will only authorize certain companies to fix appliances under warranty which are bought from them. For 5 weeks I have called this store and the repair shop and everyone is sorry but no follow up to get it fixed. Even the manager told me I live out so far out that they can make more money repairing other appliances nearby. Initially the manager suggested refunding my $1,000 because he felt I had purchased a lemon but now they feel its not their problem and sorry about my luck. He would not even exchange it for me. I am 64 and live by myself. I trusted this store because of its previous reputation. I hope other people realize Recker & Boerger only care about selling products and making money. Our AC went out going into the summer. The service we were given by Recker & Boerger was professional, personable, and helped our house to cool down at a critical time (with two little ones sleeping upstairs as the weather was only getting hotter). My wife and I were treated very well and given a thorough assessment of the state of our HVAC (recently purchased home built in the 1930s). Recker and Boerger advertised a washer/dryer set in their ad in the Sunday paper. We went in on Monday to get the set. They kept trying to sell us a different set. Long story short, they refused to honor the ad. We got several excuses along the way as to why they wouldn't honor it (wrong brand was pictured, picture was wrong color, ad company messed up, etc). They ended up putting all the blame on the company that prints their ads (even though Jim Recker approved a proof of the ad before it printed). This company can not be trusted.
