Dill rockfish. Best dish we had because of the herbs
    Moe T.

Nothing particularly appealing. Dill fish was probably the best thing we had. Beef in betel leaf was tasty but much less beef than other places we've had this. Mala beef cheeks lacked flavor and spice level was low. I should have known this was going to be very average

Crispy Saigon Carmelized Prawns: very flavorful, but too salty

Pros: good vibes, food is flavorful, parking is easy, there is plenty neighborhood parking available nearby Cons: some waiting staff is friendly and helpful, but not all, service is inconsistent, food is on the salty side

Great service. Staff is fantastic. Had the chicken fried rice and it was delicious. A lot of flavor. Came out steaming hot. Yum!!!

Food was solid hands-down, but the papaya salad was very spicy - Had chili seeds in it and actual chili powder Layered on the top - was left with just chili powder taste on the tongue so we couldn't quite finish it but both noodles and fried rice was hands-down good... I am not a huge fan of tomatoes anymore so I enjoyed everything except for the tomatoes in the fried rice.. will ask them to take them out next time!

Reckless has been on my list to check out for a long time. Our server was very friendly and helpful with our drink and food decisions. There were 4 of us and we shared everything family style. The reckless fried rice and the pork fresh rolls were highlights for me. My cocktail was the Oh God Yes which was their riff on a Last Word (RIP Murray). Would definitely come back.

Looking for great vibes and great food in the Central District? Then Reckless Noodle House is the place to go. The service was friendly and attentive. Our waiter was lively, and they always made sure we had enough water. At the end of our meal, we forgot our leftover container on the table, and one of the waiters came out and gave it to us. Everything on their menu is lively and full of flavor. For drinks, we ordered the Crouching Tiger Hidden Vodka and the Reckless Mule. Both drinks were light and refreshing. For our dishes, we ordered the Shanghai Spicy Wontons, Lobster Bao, Papaya Salad, Caramelized Pork Fresh Roll, Roast Duck Crispy Roll, and the Reckless Fried Rice with pastrami. All of our dishes were perfectly balanced and came out hot and fresh. Everything we ordered was a favorite, but if I had to pick, my top choices were the Shanghai Spicy Wontons, Caramelized Pork Fresh Roll, and the Reckless Fried Rice. It's a great restaurant for ordering multiple dishes to share. It's a great place for larger groups, but also perfect for grabbing a drink and a bite at the bar.

Because why wouldn't you want to sample some delicious Asian insoired bar food with a variety of Amaros? Reckless is pretty cool as a Bar with bites. My Paper Plane was well done, as were the CioCiaro and NA Pathfinder. Food-wise we had the wings, chicken cabbage salad, carmelized prawns and pork. rolls. Sizes were perfect, small enough without being too filling. Friendly, happy servers to boot.

The service was good, and the decor was fun on the bar side. The Bo La Lot was my favorite dish. And the Tuesday trio special they run is a pretty solid, an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $35. The Curry Vermicelli Bowl had good flavor, however I thought the carrots were too chunky for the dish and the potatoes seemed a bit undercooked.

Usually hipster restaurants are quirky and the staff is nice. This had neither, the food was oily and unoriginal. We had asked for no protein for one of the noodle dishes and the waitress, who had been rude since she sat us down, wouldn't allow that? We needed to add something so ended up with extra vegetables with over took the plate. My guess is they weren't giving enough noodle to make a complete dish. The restaurant is pretty busy but in a suffocating kind of way. They have people speed walking around and yet no one can let you know if your table is ready. We felt like a burden to them anytime we asked for something. The only nice one there was the girl bringing us water. I would recommend it just based on the price and service.

We dropped by Reckless Noodle on a Friday with two friends. We used the Q app to make sure we were on their waitlist in the event it was super busy. Service was very attentive and upbeat the minute were inside Once we were in we started things off right with some cocktails and starters. I enjoyed the barrel aged Manhattan and the table shared the roast duck crispy rolls. For the main all I had ever heard about were these beef cheek noodles so I had to try it and honestly no notes- the noodles were chewy the beef cheek tender and the spice was hot and numbing. Others at the table tried the seafood dishes which they enjoyed a lot. We did somehow find room for dessert - a seasonal creme brûlée. We spent a good amount of time eating and drinking the evening away - enjoying the music and the comfortable dining area. We will be back.

Food - fresh spring rolls were good. perfect size for app or re meal for me because i can't eat huge amounts. Service - great! friendly & things came out quickly. Ambiance - we sat outside with the dog. and the patio is really nice and feels secluded despite being in a parking lot off a busy-ish street. they did a really nice job of decorating it to feel like its not just an after thought. very chill vibes & busy on the weekend.

    Wok seared tumeric rockfish

I guess this is what we'd call gentrified asian food. The type of thing my parents would scoff at but I'm always curious to try when I see. I always wonder "how do they 'elevate' these dishes?", or "is there anything creative that sets this apart/is a fun fusion concept?". So we got the papaya salad: good, same as other papaya salads except 0% spicy in stark contrast to other salads which are somehow always the spiciest part of the meal. We also got the wok seared tumerick rockfish: the fish was great but i think it works alone better than it does with the noodles, they felt really distinct to me and I didn't necessarily eat them them together. Also I learned that i really like dill with fish. That was delightful. The beef cheek soup: was good. Great quality, very well thought through, you can tell there was a lot of intention in the dish. And it tasted like a dang good beef noodle soup. Overall food was good and i enjoyed trying the things we did.

A fantastic spot! I've been wanting to try this spot for a while, and finally got the chance to for their Seattle Restaurant Week menu. We put ourselves on the waitlist ahead of time so were able to get seated right when we arrived. For the special menu it was three courses - to start, we got the lobster bao, duck crispy roll, and grilled beef appetizers. They were small, but all pretty good! For our entrees we got the mala beef cheek noodle, hokkien wok noodle, and duck noodle soup. All three were fantastic - I loved the tenderness of the beef and the savoriness of the hokkien wok noodles! Finally for dessert, the vietnamese coffee creme brulee was spectacular and so unique, I've never had something like it! They also had my absolute favorite flavor black sesame ice cream which was absolutely perfect. Vibes are nice with dim lighting and good music. I'd definitely recommend!

The Lemongrass Chicken had incredible flavor, especially the broth, which was so good it's worth taking home if you don't finish it. The only downside was navigating all the bones. The Drunken Chicken ended up being my favorite main dish. It reminded me of sweet-and-sour chicken, but without the overwhelming sweetness that usually takes over the dish. The Lao Burger was still very good, although it wasn't quite as delicious as I remembered from 2022. Perhaps the recipe has changed over the years, but it was still worth trying. The Lao Beef Jerky had great flavor, though it was drier and tougher to chew than we expected. This time, I checked out Chan Seattle, and baby, they left NOTHING on the table. I enjoyed my entire experience from start to finish. When I arrived, there was a sign asking guests to wait for the hostess to be seated. I stood there for about 2-3 minutes, but no one ever came to the hostess stand, so eventually I just seated myself at the bar. ‍ Not a huge deal, but definitely worth noting. Chan is located inside a hotel, and the restaurant itself is pretty spacious. The actual bar only seats about three people, but there's also open-kitchen counter seating with maybe 8-10 seats. I grabbed a seat at the bar with my book, although I mainly ended up listening to a podcast while I ate. Perfect little solo dinner vibe. One thing that made me laugh: the restroom is part of the hotel, so Chan staff actually have to give you a key to access it. Top-flight security over there! Now, THE FOOD. I started with a glass of cava from the happy hour menu and the tuna tartare, topped with avocado, radish, and sunchoke. Both were $10 each. For my meal, I ordered the roasted cauliflower from the happy hour menu for $10 and the small portion of Alaskan black cod from the protein menu. Everything was absolutely delicious, but that tuna tartare?! That was the star of the evening. Fresh, flavorful, and easily the dish I'd order again without even looking at the menu. The service was wonderful too. The bartender seemed a little stiff and rigid when I first sat down, but he eventually warmed up and I got to see his kind and friendly side. He was attentive and offered recommendations, which I always appreciate when I'm trying somewhere for the first time. The regular menu prices are definitely on the higher side, but Chan has $$$ on Yelp, so you know what you're signing up for. That said, the happy hour specials are GREAT and make it easy to try several dishes without running the bill all the way up. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and happy hour, Chan Seattle is absolutely a must-try. I'll definitely be back on a future Seattle visit, and the tuna tartare already has a spot on my repeat-order list!

Service was super friendly and quick. My friend and I shared the pork sliders, brussel sprouts, beef cheek ragu rice cakes, wagyu ssam, and the ginger crème brulee. Everything was so surprisingly yummy. Pork sliders were juicy, flavorful, nice fluffy bun. Good proportion of bun to filling. Brussel sprouts at first were your average well made sprouts, but when we reached the bottom of the dish where the sweet potato puree was, it changed the entire flavor profile of the dish! So good. Maybe better served in a wider bowl so we could appreciate the puree sooner haha Beef cheek ragu was super good too. Flavorful rich sauce and I loved that the rice cakes were extra thick and charred on the outside. Made for the perfect texture: lightly crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Wagyu ssam was great too. Not as standout as the other dishes, but solid steak pieces that were perfectly tender. I think my favorite has to be the ginger crème brûlée. The ginger flavor is light, and the hardened sugar on top tastes like crystallized ginger candy when chewed. The doenjang caramel drizzle balances it out as well. Overall, a fantastic meal. It's definitely on the pricier side, and all the dishes could use a bit less salt, but I will definitely be thinking about that crème brûlée for a long time

Fried oysters, eggplant w garlic sauce, green beans, and mapo tofu were good, but felt a bit overpriced given the quality and quantity. Have had better versions of these dishes elsewhere, but not bad choices here if you need non-meat options. Peking duck was good, and the addition of candied lemon is similar to that of Peony Kitchen. Came with steamed buns, but a bit pricier than PK. Dong po rou also came with steamed buns for sandwiching the meat in. Meat was very tender. I haven't had authentic bo kho (oops), but we thought this tasted quite good! Tender meat and veggies, good flavor, and came with banh for dipping. Squid ink fried rice was pretty good, and came with a thick layer of cheese on top. Couldn't really find the chunks of squid, but was quite tasty. On the pricier side, but worth a visit. You haven't lived until you've experienced their "Muscle Beach Merlot Mondays" where the sommelier spots you through a vertical tasting while shouting encouragement like "LIGHTWEIGHT BABY" and "AIN'T NOTHING BUT A PEANUT" between sips. Their wine descriptions include both tasting notes AND the optimal rep range for maximum gains. The "Lou Ferrigno Lounge" area features leather seats made from recycled weightlifting belts, and every wine glass has grip knurling. Their coasters are miniature versions of the original Gold's Gym logo, and they refuse to serve anything less than full-bodied wines because "light wines are for WIMPS." Their "Pumping Iron" wine club (which meets in what they call The Dungeon, a clear homage to the original Gold's basement) requires members to deadlift their wine allocation before taking it home. The sight of someone clean-and-jerking a case of Grand Cru Burgundy is both terrifying and beautiful. Five stars for creating a space where wine snobs and gym bros can finally coexist in perfect harmony. I've witnessed heated debates about both proper squat form AND proper wine storage temperature, often in the same conversation. P.S. Their "No Pain No Pour" policy seems strict, but you haven't lived until you've seen someone do burpees for a better pour of Barolo. P.P.S. The bathroom mirrors are positioned at optimal flexing angles, and the hand soap dispensers are shaped like dumbbells. ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Note: This review was written while watching their sommelier demonstrate proper clean-and-jerk form using a methuselah of champagne as a training weight. Special Addendum: To the customer who complained about the mandatory flex pose before entering the reserve wine room - this is about CULTURE, Karen. Final Thought: Never has there been a more perfect fusion of fine wine and fitness culture. It's like if Joe Weider opened a wine bar and Franco Columbu was the beverage director. Remember: Every wine glass comes with its own "PR" (Personal Record) tracking card, and yes, they do measure your wine lifting form. No kipping allowed on the Bordeaux pulls. Warning: Side effects may include excessive use of phrases like "crushing it," "lightweight baby," and "yeah buddy" while discussing vintage vertical tastings. P.P.P.S. Their new "Swole Somm Certification" program requires both blind tasting skills AND a minimum bench press requirement. As it should.
