Espresso flan

I went to Red Agave for their grand opening to celebrate my boyfriend's aunt's birthday, and wow. What an experience! The second we walked in, we were sat right away. The place is gorgeous, like a piece of tropical art that makes you feel like you're on vacation. They even had live music that kept the vibes fun and lively. The staff was amazing, Super sweet and super attentive. They even spoiled us with some complimentary goodies and fresh chips and salsa (so good!). For drinks, we tried the Red Agave margarita, mojito, and piña fuego .Each one was a hit.We ordered a little bit of everything, from the street corn soufflé to main dishes in between, and ended the night with tres leches cake and espresso flan. Every bite was incredible.Honestly, everything about this place was fantastic! food, service, vibes were all incredible. If you're looking for great food and a fun atmosphere, Red Agave is a must. Highly recommend!

Carne asado tacos

Shocked that Monroe has an amazing new dining option! Super friendly staff, great ambiance and lots of great options at Red Agave. Our group got a pitcher of red sangria (delicious!) and they also have a full bar with an extensive wine menu. Ava, our server was so kind- explaining the menu and gave great recommendations as we chomped on their salad and chips- This was THE best meal and so easy and yummy. The Shrimp salad was full of plump shrimp- with a perfect dressing. The chicken fajitas were good with rice and beans, guac and salsa. The carne asado tacos looked amazing- my mother was so impressed. Other diners had the ahi tuna tacos with a warm slaw- delicious and fresh. For dessert had the tres leches cake- the strawberries and ice cream rounded out the sweetness of the cake. They have a grand opening in September but they are ready to go now. Delicious!!!

It definitely has the vibe of a speakeasy, especially with the jazz band playing. We went with the brunch special which is $35 for bottomless drinks with the purchase of an entree. I had the 3 Eggs Any Style and my wife had the Breakfast Flatbread. Those dishes as well as our friends were well made and delicious. We're three young women in the service industry and still felt completely unwelcome--the hostess told us to find our own seating even though the sign said see hostess. The bartender was rude and uninterested, standing 5 min+ at the bar without even being acknowledged. Another staff member was dismissive when closing us out and rolled her eyes when asked to take cash. The overall vibe felt like we weren't wanted, even though it was only around 11 PM. The DJ was underwhelming and the bathroom was vile. The most pleasant part was the below average $20 drinks. For an expensive, well-known spot, this was a very poor experience. Couldn't pay me to return.

This spot I'd say is great for drinks, but food wise, the owners need to reevaluate on that front. Haloumi Fries ($21) - I don't know what to make of this. It needs a dipping sauce to accompany it to help make it taste better, whether that's ketchup, spicy mayo, etc. Calamari ($24) - Definitely not fresh. Tastes like it came straight out of the freezer and then dumped into a fryer. Beer Braised Short Ribs ($45) - I don't think they slow cooked this enough as the meat was still chewy and the meat does not fall apart. Had to cut this is a knife and that was also a bit tough. Cajun Pizza ($23) - This one I enjoyed the most. Loved the unique topping to make it cajun style. Cheeseburger Egg Roll ($18) - This dish has potential if they did not over fried this to a crisp. Churros ($13) - Can't really mess this up (or I'd hope you don't). Great way to end a meal. In reality, 4 stars if I came here just to get drinks. 1 star if I came here for dinner as the food was not up to par.

Let's start with the good - the service and ambiance were on point. I went on a Sunday evening around 7pm. It was busy inside, but since I was a solo diner I was seated immediately by the bar. The servers were friendly and attentive. Probably 3-4 different people checked in multiple times throughout the meal. Where I struggle is with the actual burger itself. As a non-resident New Yorker, for me $22.50 is a lot to spend on a burger and fries. It needs to rock my world at that price point. And it just didn't. I got the B&B Burger. The onion ring tasted like it had been refried a second time to make my burger. The bread was crumbly like it was on the verge of going stale. The actual beef patty itself was decent - good flavor. Usually I can overlook an okay burger if the fries are top notch, but these fries were under-seasoned and also 'just okay'. I also got a side of Chicken Tenders. These were good - no complaints here. I really wanted to like this spot, but not sure this would be a return visit for me.

This place was perfect and its menu was choke full of bargains and bonuses. This place was cute; I mean the bar was front and center and was very impressive but the table seating was charming too. Their lunch menu has a great "build your on burger" which i had a blast doing: Burger Cheddar Cheese Bacon Grilled onions Lettuce Tomato Mayo / BBQ con The service was exceptional, the ambience was very "Taverny [sic]" and my lunch was delicious!
