Stopped to eat burgers and fries before going to a concert planned. Got here around 4:30 during happy hour and there were lots of open seats. We got a build your own burger with the following; double patty, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, scallions, avocado and a fried egg. The burger was delicious but dropping the rating to a 4/(m5 as it came with pickles and we didn't order and i dont like pickles. We got the garlic herb fries which were great, thin and crispy. Since it was happy hour we ordered 2 cocktails, but were disappointed with the taste. We got the irish mule and the knock out. Not sure how to describe but the drinks weren't for us. The staff was great and very hospitable. The place was nice but not sure how it gets when its full.

Solid burger! Finding a good burger with as many "frills" as Black Iron offers is tough, but you can tell quality ingredients and care goes into their food. I got the Black Iron Burger and it was nice and juicy, the horseradish & caramelized onions gave a delicious sweet/tangy flavor but wasn't too overpowering. The lunch special is $20 (I think) is any notorious burger with fries.. a good deal in my eyes! Service was awesome throughout the meal, waiter was faced paced but continued to make sure we were good. The restaurant itself is a little dark, has a nice full bar, TVs, and is a bit tight but 100% gives tavern vibes.

Outstanding burgers that will not disappoint. Wings were a great starter with some unique flavors. Fries were cooked perfectly and accompanied by a very nice sauce. This place was a little snug, but once your food comes you will forget all about it. Surprisingly kid friendly even though it feels very much pub like. The servers were experienced and friendly.

This is a burger spot located around the Garment District area that is an ideal burger joint to unwind with a juicy burger, a mini mountain of fries, and a refreshing drink. I ordered a Coca-Cola, Truffle Cheese Fries, and Mushroom Truffle Burger. This is for the truffle lovers out there, the truffle fries were the right amount of truffle oil paired with parmesan cheese. It wasn't so heavy on the truffle oil that you could still enjoy the warm crispiness of the fries. The mushroom truffle burger was quite delicious with the mushroom and truffle pairing that didn't clash or overwhelm the taste buds. It was so good that after taking this photo, I was halfway through my burger and enjoying every bite. The servers were quite patient in explaining the menu as well as emphasizing that the signature burgers stay as-is with no substitution and that you can build your own burger. Also, their uniform/shirt would make you do a double-take and I got a good laugh with my server. The location is very lively with conversations throughout the bar and restaurant with multiple TVs playing games (ideal sports bar/restaurant spot as well). It is a very chill and laid-back restaurant to let loose and be a little messy while eating by yourself or with friends or even on a date. I would most definitely be coming back and trying more of the signature burgers as well as making my own burger.

From the moment I stepped into Black Iron Burger, I was impressed with the prompt welcome and seating. Service was incredibly efficient and thoughtful. I opted for the Iberico Burger with a side of Cole Slaw and it was absolutely delicious. I also recommend the Ace Pear Cider for a refreshing change of pace. Great first impression!

    What a joke.

Eh. My stomach hurts and it was pretty lackluster; no seasoning, grill needs to be hotter, onion hand needs to be heavier. Sorta disappointed but also it is what it is... $16 not the best not the worst.

Came here on a rainy Wednesday 5:30pm with my girlfriend and there were tons of seats and did not seem too crowded throughout the night. Service was good and our waiter did a great job. Food was good, we got a chocolate shake, truffle fries, the mushroom burger and the master piece burger. Everything was pricey, but my complaint was that the prices for a large fries was not stated on their menu. The menu shows $9.25 for the truffle fries but I was charged $12.25, which no where on the menu mentioned a large would be +$3 more. If it was mentioned by the waiter or the menu I would've been fine but when I talked to the waiter who talked to the manager, all they gave was a discount for the next time I would come which I would not know when. The manager didn't even come up to us about the discrepancy and they didn't really do anything about this mistake. Overall the food was good but the way they manage mistakes is simply unprofessional.

Had the Black Iron and Herb Garlic Fries with aioli sauce and it was phenomenal. They did a great job cooking the burger to medium rare and the grilled onions added a nice hint of sweetness to the savory patties and horseradish mayo. It was juicy, flavorful, and melts in your mouth. The fries had a lot of garlic on them and the aioli sauce was a good addition to the flavor profile. It gets pretty busy, so expect some wait time.

A long and narrow space that serves good burgers with no extras included. You want fries with that? Pay for it. You want coleslaw or a pickle? Pay for it. I'm surprised that salt, pepper and ketchup wasn't an up charge too. My Guiness was on point. So was my Masterpiece burger. Just be prepared to pay.

The burger and fries were excellent! My only complaint is the shake, it was watery/melted not good at all and paid almost $11 for it. Service and ambience were good.

What a gem of a place! The burgers are to-die-for, and the atmosphere is excellent. A lively bar feel with very attentive staff, no matter how busy they are. We spent 4 nights in NYC recently, and went to this place twice. The American Burger is delicious!

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
