This was my second visit to a Black Iron Burger restaurant and my first visit to the Midtown West location. My previous experience at the Theater District location was outstanding, and I have nothing but positive things to say about that visit. Unfortunately, my experience at the Midtown West location was significantly different. Upon arriving, I chose to sit at the bar. It took approximately 12 minutes before the bartender acknowledged my presence. Because the menu did not list wine prices, I asked about the cost of a glass of wine. Rather than providing the information directly, the bartender asked which wine I was interested in and then had to reference the point-of-sale system to determine the price. After placing my order, there was an extended delay before I received my glass of wine. I also requested a glass of water, which was served without ice and without being asked whether I would prefer ice. Additionally, I was not provided with a straw and ultimately had to obtain one myself. When my burger arrived, it was undercooked. When I politely brought this issue to the bartender's attention, I found her response to be argumentative rather than helpful or solution-oriented. Throughout the interaction, she did not appear welcoming and failed to demonstrate the level of customer service I would expect from a hospitality establishment. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at the Midtown West location, particularly given the excellent service I received at the Theater District location. We came here this past weekend to grab a quick bite while running errands and the place was amazing!! The burgers were beyond delicious and definitely made us full! We got the American burger and a create your own burger and it definitely hit the spot!! The service was really fast and great, they made sure to take our orders right away and brought out our food in a decent amount of time. The ambiance of the place was also great, it's a long bar, with many seats and they play very relaxing music that isn't overwhelming you while you're trying to eat. Stopped to eat burgers and fries before going to a concert planned. Got here around 4:30 during happy hour and there were lots of open seats. We got a build your own burger with the following; double patty, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, scallions, avocado and a fried egg. Very disappointing experience. We were seated and given a menu, but no one returned to take our order or even bring water. I had to flag down a server for service. My food arrived without utensils, so I had to get them myself. I was later interrupted during my meal and told to move tables because of poor communication. This is a burger spot located around the Garment District area that is an ideal burger joint to unwind with a juicy burger, a mini mountain of fries, and a refreshing drink. I ordered a Coca-Cola, Truffle Cheese Fries, and Mushroom Truffle Burger. This is for the truffle lovers out there, the truffle fries were the right amount of truffle oil paired with parmesan cheese. It wasn't so heavy on the truffle oil that you could still enjoy the warm crispiness of the fries. The mushroom truffle burger was quite delicious with the mushroom and truffle pairing that didn't clash or overwhelm the taste buds. It was so good that after taking this photo, I was halfway through my burger and enjoying every bite. The servers were quite patient in explaining the menu as well as emphasizing that the signature burgers stay as-is with no substitution and that you can build your own burger. Also, their uniform/shirt would make you do a double-take and I got a good laugh with my server. The location is very lively with conversations throughout the bar and restaurant with multiple TVs playing games (ideal sports bar/restaurant spot as well). Everything was pricey, but my complaint was that the prices for a large fries was not stated on their menu. The menu shows $9.25 for the truffle fries but I was charged $12.25, which no where on the menu mentioned a large would be +$3 more. If it was mentioned by the waiter or the menu I would've been fine but when I talked to the waiter who talked to the manager, all they gave was a discount for the next time I would come which I would not know when. The manager didn't even come up to us about the discrepancy and they didn't really do anything about this mistake. The burger was oddly flavorless and just noting special to write home about. The onion rings were flimsy, soggy, and looked like something I would have made when I was first learning to cook. My coworker got the Mushroom Truffle Burger and thought his was similarly bland. My biggest problem with the place is the price for the result. $35 plus tip for a bland lunch. When you come in, someone arrives to bring you to a table and that's when you can order your food.
