Because we were rushing, we decided to order a quick impossible burger which was easy to eat and chug down. Fries were FIRE! Standout service during a last minute lunch decision! It was pretty noisy during a weekday lunch but that seems to be expected here. I ordered the little gem Caesar that came with Parmesan crisps instead of croutons (a win for gluten free people!). It was a little low on salt but luckily the tables had salt and pepper and with a little seasoning it was perfect. I also had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries, but they accommodated the meal to be gluten free by removing the bun and adding greens. It was SO good. The table ordered the Calamari and the roasted tomato soup as starters. The Calamari was tender and flavored well. The soup was okay, I wasn't the biggest fan of the cheese but thats just a preference. The fish sandwich was so fresh. The salad on top of the chicken was so seasoned so well. The menu strikes a nice balance between healthier options and indulgent brunch staples, and everything we ordered delivered both in flavor and presentation. Which is why it's frustrating to say the service didn't live up to the rest of the experience. We were seated at a table set with visibly dirty dishes -- traces of butter still on the plates. For the second consecutive year, The Smith delivered an excellent Thanksgiving pre-fixe three course meal. Again, we reserved (more than a month in advance) a table at the Nomad location. And again, it was a busy holiday affair. Our server was very welcoming and on point answering questions and making recommendations. Their 3 course pre-fixe meal was $88 not including additions , beverages, gratuity and taxes. We started off with the Sparkling Cosmo (I'm sure Carrie Bradshaw would approve) and later, a bottle of Beginnings Orange Wine from Italy. All very good. For appetizer, I chose Butternut Squash Soup ( creamy and decadent) while the other two selections were Gnocchi with a Truffle Cream Sauce. Could have kicked myself for not ordering this one. I'm not a huge Gnocchi fan but theirs was to die for. We all chose the Traditional Turkey Breast meal: white meat on a bed of spinach and mashed potatoes. Included for the table was: Brussel Sprouts, Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce. Everything very very good. Here is the overall sentiment of my group and a gripe--the "for the table" servings were very small. If you're a party of more than 2, the serving of stuffing and Cranberry Sauce isn't satisfying. In my opinion, they should serve the turkey on top of stuffing instead of mashed potatoes. Thanksgiving is all about the stuffing and no one wants a skimpy serving. Unless you have a low appetite, the side servings were just too small. I had to ask for gravy twice in addition to more stuffing which took a while to be brought to the table. And the Cranberry Sauce was maybe a few tablespoons in terms of portion size. I think The Smith should do things differently considering the price point. I love this restaurant and their other locations, but I'm not sure I'll return again next year for Thanksgiving. It was the same last year. Those in my party felt the same. I've been here twice and both times did not disappoint! The first time I visited, my friends and I sat at the bar for a few drinks. The second time around we sat down for food and drinks. Everything was delicious! We ordered the benedict johnny, shrimp and grits, and a side of house potatoes. My favorite from all was the shrimp and grits! You could never find anything like that in LA! When in New York City you hit up a restaurant that has available tables to get out of the rain and pay entirely too much for breakfast. The Smith made it worth it! The service was attentive with multiple people checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. When I looked at the prices for the kids menu I was surprised but when the food came out I was shocked what a good value it was as the portion size was HUGE! I thought to myself dang I could have split this with my kiddo. She would not have it though and to my surprise almost polished the whole thing off. I used to think that the menu was too "basic" to be interesting, but I was very wrong. They may focus on classics, but they do them well. We gave this place a visit while waiting for a couple of family members that happened to be at a birthday party nearby. We've been to a couple of their locations, including here, and it is for very good reason--I can confidently say that the food is fantastic for both, but the service at this location did feel relatively better, particularly on attentiveness. The visit was reasonably short, leading us to stay at the bar that was pretty lively in itself; we got a couple of starters and drinks in that time for our wait. We ordered their spicy salmon tartare, where they top it on crispy rice rectangles and avocado. Frankly, if these were all they served, I'd come back every time for them--fantastic flavor and texture combinations that make them one of my favorites coming here. Additionally, we ordered an oyster sampler that turned out great as well. As for the drinks, we ordered a hot toddy and their Frozen Pool Party; the former was warm and well-met for the outside cold--the latter, while naturally cold itself, was incredibly refreshing and a great flavor combination for a form of adult slushie. For dinner, I ordered the kale and quinoa salad with chicken which was good however upon arriving home, I realized there was no quinoa in my salad which explained why I was still hungry! We were looking for a brunch place and ran into this place, it was somewhat busy but we were seated right away. Brunch is Saturday to Sunday from open till 4:00pm . They have a couple in New York but we went to the one that is in Midtown. The place is spacious. Once seated we were asked for drinks I ordered the Spirtz but all the drinks looked good. I would like to go for a happy hour, if i am in the area again. We started with crispy calamari its had feta on top with a side of lemon aioli chefs kiss. We each had the Grilled chicken comes with burrata, tomato jam, basil aioli on a toasted ciabatta, and a side of home fries. Avocado Toast, and baked eggs alla vodka all of which has lots of flavors. I had the potato benny, which is essentially smoked salmon benedict but with a potato waffle base instead of an english muffin. The potato waffle was literally a big crispy hash brown.
