I don't know what happened but in order for a business to succeed and survive consistency is imperative. I ordered the garlic bread and grilled Brussels sprouts but the food was no way near as good as it was the first time. "Garlic bread" was obviously those frozen bread sticks with congealed cheese on top at an attempt to make it look good. They were also burnt on the bottom. The Brussels sprouts were burnt and hard, very unappetizing. I actually had to throw these items out as they weren't even edible. I really hope they step up their game and make a better effort. Both pizzas were absolutely delicious!!! The veggies tasted great and the pineapple & pepperoni were a perfect salty/sweet combo. The dough was airy and light. It was not greasy at all compared to the previous owner who I felt his pizzas were overly greasy. Customer service was phenomenal; the owner was very friendly and welcoming. Ordered off of DoorDash. First time trying red apple. Ordered a large pepperoni,sausage with mushrooms on half and a small extra cheese. Received a large pep and sausage with apples on half and a small cheese with ham. Extremely disappointed with the order I received. As for the pizza itself after removing the unwanted toppings..really good. Would have been so much better if the order was made correctly. Would have definitely been at least a 4star review. I would reluctantly give red apple a second try. Hopefully the correct order next time will change my mind about this place. Do better please Red Apple! Update: spoke with the owner/manager via private text. Came to the conclusion the issue was with the DoorDash software giving incorrect order information. It was so bad the sauce leaked through the box and when trying to carry the pizza box it is flimsy. You truly couldn't break apart the slices. The online order set up was very easy to understand and I was able to order two large pizzas with two different topping combinations on each one without difficulty. This place is a great hole in the wall for a first date spot. The front of house is decorated with ambient lighting, wood tables, and a corner with retro mario available for guests to play. This has to be one of the best pizza places in the Eastbay (I know it's saying a lot but the proof is in the pie!). Ordered take out from here for the first time and wasn't super impressed. We got the Red Apple pizza, Brussels sprouts, and mango habanero wings. Pizza crust was DELISH and I would go back just to try a different pizza, but the red apple toppings were a miss. Apples were huge slices with the skin still on, wish they were thinner slices and peeled. Overcooked dry onions. No bacon, instead it was covered in giant slices of ham that were hard to eat. Also no dressed mix on top! Seems like they forgot what pizza they were making?? Wings were fatty and skin was thick and undercooked. Wish they were crispier. Sauce was good and VERY spicy. Brussels were undercooked and flavorless with mushy onions and peppers. Wish they were crispy and didn't include the extra veg. We will probably return to try another pizza, and hopefully get the right toppings?? I know they are under new management so maybe they'll figure some of this out along the way. read more

This place is a must try! I ordered very last-minute catering for the office and not only was Jay (the owner) able to make it happen, he put together a feast for us! We got a couple different types of pasta, the pesto tortellini was amazing, a really good Caesar's salad and delicious garlic bread. Everything was great. The best part about this place is that they offer free delivery over $20 if you live in San Leandro.
