This is our local pizza spot, our go to, our reliable and delicious pizzeriaaaaa! we've also been to the Castro valley location but this review will focus on the SL location. The pizza is always delicious, hot, the crust crispy. The slices are HUGE!!! We order 1/2 pepperoni for my husband and 1/2 cheese for me. We eat a few slices & freeze the rest to enjoy later, & yes-it taste just as good & fresh. There's always a generous portions of toppings, and the staff has always been kind, welcoming, and very quick with bringing out our order. My husband says it's a nice vibe everytime he goes inside. We usually do pick up, we've never eaten inside but maybe one day. The parking lot is in a metered area so probably one reason why we choose to just order to go but I do want to visit and dine in one day! But yeah like I don't know how why what when makes this a gold medal winner... a gold medal winner, to me, is something that allows all 5 flavor senses and 5 human senses boil with puffs of magic evaporating...this was not it at all. Too sweet. Massively needed h2o multiple times throughout the taste test. SERVICE: Tremendously stinks that you cannot pick two different predetermine flavor toppings even if you are willing to pay more. It was pretty empty when I went, so there was ample seating. There was a steady flow of customers coming in for pickup orders. We ordered two whole pizzas, and I am so glad we did. Both were absolutely delicious! The calabrese (hot) sausages and mozzarella balls were my favorite on Wise Guy. Cal Italia was described as "Gold Medal Winner - Food Network Pizza Champions Challenge," so of course I had to give that a try! I am a biiiiiiiig fan of slice house. We order them pretty frequently and they're so consistently good! My favorite is the Detroit style pizzas. Honestly any flavor is good. The Detroit style is a thicker style and the crust comes out so crispy on the outside but so soft on the inside. The ingredients are really good quality. Ordered Slice House for New Year's Eve and it was a hit with kids and adults alike! The family size was huge - cut into 8 slices that are the size of what you get when you go to a shop and buy a single slice. We were too hungry to take too many photos but the XL Motörhead pizza with the ricotta was really good. Not overly salty with the sausage and pepperoni. Really good thin crust and toasty edges. I ordered the Bacon Arugula Salad and the Cal Italian Pizza. The pizza itself was great -- delicious crust, good cheese, and well-balanced flavor. Unfortunately, everything around the food made the overall experience disappointing. The salad was served in an overstuffed plastic container with the oil and balsamic on the side. There was absolutely no room to mix anything without making a mess. At the very least, the staff should offer to premix salads when the packaging makes it impossible for customers to do so. I also planned to order wine, but seeing it served in flimsy plastic cups was honestly off-putting. For a place with a ~$50 average order value (before tips), proper glassware should be a basic standard. The paper plates provided were thin and became greasy almost immediately, and to add to that, the tables weren't even wiped down -- I ended up cleaning my own spot before eating. Overall, the dining experience felt cheap and uncomfortable, despite the quality of the pizza. To the owner: it's clear the business is doing well and expanding, and that's great -- but please reinvest in the customer experience. Cutting costs on basic dinnerware, serveware, and cleanliness really shows, and it drives customers like me away. I won't be returning, nor would I recommend this location to friends. Plenty of outdoor seating on this cold winter day. Paid text parking through Air Garage?!?! Not familiar with this, nor will I be paying for parking via text. This used to be free parking when we used to frequent the now closed sports bar (Englander). Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm or 10pm. Loyalty program available, see picture. The pizza here is pretty good. It tastes pretty fresh. The kids and I do like more cheese, but overall it was pretty good. The service was fine. They basically give you your pizza and the rest is self serve. They were nice. The atmosphere is fine. I thought it was kind of expensive for what it was though, but not bad. The Rosa was life changing! I can't see pizza the same way. The sauce was savory but sweet and refreshing. My boyfriend enjoyed both the hot honey pepperoni and the Rosa. I have been here several times before but hadn't been for awhile so I wanted to stop by. I ended up getting detroit motorhead this time around. I wanted to try motorhead since it had a variety of meat toppings and ricotta, which I don't typically have. The tomato sauce is also on top which is quite interesting. But actually I really liked this combination and thoroughly enjoyed the taste of it. The pizza crust/dough was perfection - super crispy while still being light and airy. The tomato sauce was very fresh-tasting and acidic, which I'm a big fan of. Unfortunately, I had a bit of hiccup with picking up my order this time. When I first arrived, I went to the front counter and asked if my order was ready for pick-up. Upon checking, staff mentioned that my order wasn't ready, so I stepped off to the side. Other orders continued getting called out for the next 20 or so minutes but I never heard my name. I assumed it was taking longer than normal since there were so many customers and orders, and I didn't want to continuously bother staff. After another 5 minutes, I went back to the counter to check again. Turns out my order had been sitting there already but my name was never called. I wasn't standing far off from the front counter either. I have eaten in-restaurant and placed to-go orders before and had no issues, so I'm chalking it up as unfortunate event. This must be the worst location ever!!!! Customer service is the worst here ! The cashier was helpful but the other guy that was there was so rude and made us so uncomfortable! This place is the real deal. A great small sports bar and restaurant. Great to drop in for a drink at the bar. Great to bring friends and get full pizzas. Great for ordering single slices. I bought a couple of slices and all were delicious. My daughter had the pepperoni, she said it was delicious. I had the all-American Detroit style, very good. I loved the combination, there was just one type of sausage they used in there I didn't like the flavor of. The crust was crispy, fluffy, and right amount of thickness. My husband had the Popeye, he said the pizza was good but had way too much salt in the crust which took away from the pizza. All in all solid place so I'll be back again to try more stuff. read more

So hubby &I have been craving a pice of home, a Sicilian pizza. People have been telling us go to slice house, the reviews are 4 to 5 stars, so i order the Sicilian combo. First mistake. Ratio of toppings to crust way off. So backing up but ok. now here's what I don't understand its 4 stars most people rave about it and an award winner????? Well , and i should have taken a pic, the 3 out of 4 corners were burnt, not just over cooked but BURNT, charcoal tast and all. The sauce tasted like cande tomato sauce, acidity, I tasted no spices at all, and my lird could ya have put any more tomatoes. And none of that gooey cheese pull...im not saying it was bad, we will try another pie at a later date, everyone deserves a second chance. But at 50.00 for the pie ya think it would have been better..definitely not back home. 30 years out here and jersey & new york still the best, oh well we keep trying. First time dining at Slice House and boy am I glad we made the decision to eat here!!! The pizza is absolute perfection! The crust has just the right crunch. The sauce to cheese ratio was spot on. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings. The pepperoni was crisp and tasty and the sausage flavor was perfect. You order at the counter and they bring everything to your table. The staff were all super friendly and checked in on us often to ensure we had everything we needed. We sat outside which was great on a 71 degree day. The outside patio is big and they were playing old 80's rock music which was super fun. They have many locations (including the SF ballpark) so you have many locations to choose from.
