On my way back from Albany to FREMONT so I had to stop at one of my favorite pizza places in the Bay Area. This location is in San Leandro and I have gone here the most of any locations. Service and quality is consistent. Seating inside and outside. Love the sweet Gino's grandma style and the Detroit style Motörhead. 2 totally different yet delicious pizzas
This is our local pizza spot, our go to, our reliable and delicious pizzeriaaaaa! we've also been to the Castro valley location but this review will focus on the SL location. The pizza is always delicious, hot, the crust crispy. The slices are HUGE!!! We order 1/2 pepperoni for my husband and 1/2 cheese for me. We eat a few slices & freeze the rest to enjoy later, & yes-it taste just as good & fresh. There's always a generous portions of toppings, and the staff has always been kind, welcoming, and very quick with bringing out our order. My husband says it's a nice vibe everytime he goes inside. We usually do pick up, we've never eaten inside but maybe one day. The parking lot is in a metered area so probably one reason why we choose to just order to go but I do want to visit and dine in one day! Either way, we're looking forward to our next order from here!

Both were absolutely delicious! The calabrese (hot) sausages and mozzarella balls were my favorite on Wise Guy. Cal Italia was described as "Gold Medal Winner - Food Network Pizza Champions Challenge," so of course I had to give that a try! There was no tomato sauce, which was a good balance with the saucy Wise Guy. Cal Italia was more unique, but I enjoyed Wise Guy more, as I love tomato sauce on my pizzas.

The Detroit style is a thicker style and the crust comes out so crispy on the outside but so soft on the inside. The ingredients are really good quality. The inside has a bar style seating and about 5 tables. Service has always been very warm and friendly. There is paid parking in the lots!
This place is prevalently, crazily, repeatedly, persistently, unforgettably repeated on NextDoor and Reddit as a must eat. Secondly, the elation of and the excitement of this establishment coming even closer to the south/east bay... like who would not want to try this place out? CAL ITALIA: Gold medal winner? You gots me there to try it! This pizza topping massively needed arugula because it was all SWEET. Then it was solely salty due to the prosciutto. The lighter flavor hints like garlic didn't come through at all. The crust was delicious and chewy but once cold like every pizza... it became stale (no matter the temp and time at reheat). But yeah like I don't know how why what when makes this a gold medal winner... a gold medal winner, to me, is something that allows all 5 flavor senses and 5 human senses boil with puffs of magic evaporating...this was not it at all. Too sweet. Massively needed h2o multiple times throughout the taste test. SERVICE: Tremendously stinks that you cannot pick two different predetermine flavor toppings even if you are willing to pay more. Wait staff were nice via telling you the packets of spices available, providing cups for iced water, etc. Additionally, handed you the box of pizza directly. VIBEZ: Your standard neighborhood pizza joint. Dark interior. Casual dining. More grabs n gos than those dining in. Dining in were more of the manly population. Located in a small plaza with other establishments. Parking is rough af... you have to pay via app. If you attempt to park across/adjacent to the parking lot aka at the Chase bank lot, someone will stare you down and follow you even if you pretend or do withdraw money. Would I come back? Probably not. The toppings offered isn't my kind of jam. I prefer more well-rounded toppings. I do appreciate how they offer numerous pizza crust options.
We were in the area, and decided to get Slice House. My wife walked in while I circled. Pay for parking? What is this AirPay by text!?! The parking lot is small and tight. Picking up some dinner for MIL, we ended up getting a slice for ourselves. Detroit Style Rosa: white cheddar, brick cheese, mozzarella, thick and thin pepperoni, two racing stripes of slice sauce on top with fresh basil.
Ordered Slice House for New Year's Eve and it was a hit with kids and adults alike! The family size was huge - cut into 8 slices that are the size of what you get when you go to a shop and buy a single slice. We were too hungry to take too many photos but the XL Motörhead pizza with the ricotta was really good. Not overly salty with the sausage and pepperoni. Really good thin crust and toasty edges. I would definitely order again for a party.
My family member raved about this place. I was skeptical because so far we've been striking out on food spots lol I have to say this was one of the best slice of pizzas I have had. Nice thin crust. Crispy and cheesy and a pretty good price for the size. I believe it was $6.35
I ordered the Bacon Arugula Salad and the Cal Italian Pizza. The pizza itself was great -- delicious crust, good cheese, and well-balanced flavor. Unfortunately, everything around the food made the overall experience disappointing. The salad was served in an overstuffed plastic container with the oil and balsamic on the side. There was absolutely no room to mix anything without making a mess. At the very least, the staff should offer to premix salads when the packaging makes it impossible for customers to do so. I also planned to order wine, but seeing it served in flimsy plastic cups was honestly off-putting. For a place with a ~$50 average order value (before tips), proper glassware should be a basic standard. The paper plates provided were thin and became greasy almost immediately, and to add to that, the tables weren't even wiped down -- I ended up cleaning my own spot before eating. Overall, the dining experience felt cheap and uncomfortable, despite the quality of the pizza. To the owner: it's clear the business is doing well and expanding, and that's great -- but please reinvest in the customer experience. Cutting costs on basic dinnerware, serveware, and cleanliness really shows, and it drives customers like me away. I won't be returning, nor would I recommend this location to friends. Fieldworks is not too far and has way better experience
Nice staff but the bbq chicken pizza slices were awful. The taste was not good and the chicken was chewy and gritty. I had a friend try it and they confirmed. $17 for two slices. Would not recommend.
3.5 stars rounded up, not sure if I am being too generous with this review...? Quality/Quantity - Sicilian (SIC) Mortorhead - 80% my fault as I thought this was a larger size Detroit deep dish. It is NOT. The pizza was just okay, not worth $40 in my opinion. The bread to topping ratio was off, there was more bread than toppings. And the flavors were also just okay. Also available - Pasta, salads, dessert, beers on tap, etc. Atmosphere - Small restaurant. A few tables, all filled for today's lunch crowd and some bar seating. Plenty of outdoor seating on this cold winter day. Paid text parking through Air Garage?!?! Not familiar with this, nor will I be paying for parking via text. This used to be free parking when we used to frequent the now closed sports bar (Englander). Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm or 10pm. Loyalty program available, see picture. But that was about it. So I assumed that the Sicilian Pizza was a larger version of Detroit Deep Dish. I believe I even said that out loud and did not get corrected?!?! Either way I will own 80% of the miscommunication. As of writing this review, I finally found on their website the descriptions of the pizzas. Quoted me 20-25 minutes and it was ready within 20 minutes, thank you. I asked for plates & napkins, he offered parmesan and red peppers, etc. Price - $40, expensive for what we got. If this was a Detroit DD with its crispy crust, then it might have been worth it. Basically it was a regular rectangular pizza... for $40. Owner Comment - Congrats to Tony Gemignani from SF since 2012, to Slice House at this location since 2021, and on all the success with your other franchise locations. I will be back for the Detroit DD and look forward to writing an updated review.
Def lived up to the hype and I want to go back to try more! Was able to get a variety of slices to try and they did not disappoint. The crust on the NY was my favorite.
The pizza here is pretty good. It tastes pretty fresh. The kids and I do like more cheese, but overall it was pretty good. The service was fine. They basically give you your pizza and the rest is self serve. They were nice. The atmosphere is fine. I thought it was kind of expensive for what it was though, but not bad. The garlic bread was pretty good and had a lot of cheese but the pizza could have used more mozzarella.

Great Slice Selection! I've noticed them popping up all over the Bay Area with even more locations opening, so I finally had to give them a try for the first time. Looking at photos online beforehand, I expected the space to be a bit larger, but it's actually on the cozier side inside. It wasn't packed, but definitely wasn't empty either--there was a steady stream of takeout and DoorDash orders flying out the door. We originally planned on ordering a whole pie to share, but once we saw their slice case, we completely changed our minds. Their pizza by the slice variety is extensive, so ordering a few different slices to sample was definitely the way to go! I used to go to The Slice House when I was living in Southern California, so this time I decided to order from this location through DoorDash. We ordered two 12-inch medium pizzas--the Pepperoni and the Burrata Queen--along with the Detroit Hot Honey, and cheese garlic bread. Everything arrived fresh and warm, and it was just as delicious as I remembered from my SoCal days. I'm so happy I found this location, and I'll definitely be ordering from here again! read more

The Rosa was life changing! I can't see pizza the same way. The sauce was savory but sweet and refreshing. My boyfriend enjoyed both the hot honey pepperoni and the Rosa. I have been here several times before but hadn't been for awhile so I wanted to stop by. I ended up getting detroit motorhead this time around. I wanted to try motorhead since it had a variety of meat toppings and ricotta, which I don't typically have. The tomato sauce is also on top which is quite interesting. But actually I really liked this combination and thoroughly enjoyed the taste of it. The pizza crust/dough was perfection - super crispy while still being light and airy. The tomato sauce was very fresh-tasting and acidic, which I'm a big fan of. Unfortunately, I had a bit of hiccup with picking up my order this time. When I first arrived, I went to the front counter and asked if my order was ready for pick-up. Upon checking, staff mentioned that my order wasn't ready, so I stepped off to the side. Other orders continued getting called out for the next 20 or so minutes but I never heard my name. I assumed it was taking longer than normal since there were so many customers and orders, and I didn't want to continuously bother staff. After another 5 minutes, I went back to the counter to check again. Turns out my order had been sitting there already but my name was never called. I wasn't standing far off from the front counter either. I have eaten in-restaurant and placed to-go orders before and had no issues, so I'm chalking it up as unfortunate event. The pizza is fantastic though; I just hope next time is a better experience. read more

If you want to try amazing delicious pizza then a visit to slice house is the way to go. The price is a bit much but worth the taste. We came to sit down and eat but also take home the food You order at the counter at the end and they bring the food to you. We sat outside. This must be the worst location ever!!!! Customer service is the worst here ! The cashier was helpful but the other guy that was there was so rude and made us so uncomfortable! That we didn't even care to eat but we stayed because of our child so he could eat . They didn't have a high chair so the nice cashier guy gave us a booster chair at least he offered instead of the rude other guy that was there ! They also don't except the stamp card , so if you have one to bother to bring it just don't bother to come to this location! We been to the other locations, food plus service is great! read more

This place is the real deal. A great small sports bar and restaurant. Great to drop in for a drink at the bar. Great to bring friends and get full pizzas. Great for ordering single slices. I've been hearing big raves about this pizza joint..and it was far from a disappoint. Wow!! My choice of pizza was the Italy. Deep dish deliciousness. Cheesy, flavorful, crispy cheesy edges, and the bread reminds me of focaccia with a light crispy bottom and the middle was pillowy . The red peppers, sausage, pepperonis, onions and melty cheese was everything. The staff were very nice. I will for sure be back. read more

I bought a couple of slices and all were delicious. My daughter had the pepperoni, she said it was delicious. I had the all-American Detroit style, very good. I loved the combination, there was just one type of sausage they used in there I didn't like the flavor of. The crust was crispy, fluffy, and right amount of thickness. My husband had the Popeye, he said the pizza was good but had way too much salt in the crust which took away from the pizza. All in all solid place so I'll be back again to try more stuff. read more

First time dining at Slice House and boy am I glad we made the decision to eat here!!! The pizza is absolute perfection! The crust has just the right crunch. The sauce to cheese ratio was spot on. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings. The pepperoni was crisp and tasty and the sausage flavor was perfect. You order at the counter and they bring everything to your table. The staff were all super friendly and checked in on us often to ensure we had everything we needed. We sat outside which was great on a 71 degree day. The outside patio is big and they were playing old 80's rock music which was super fun. They have many locations (including the SF ballpark) so you have many locations to choose from. What's the price range of by the slice? Their menu is ridiculously difficult to navigate just to see info about by the slice.
I noticed samething, there are several different types of slices and each location I've been to have different prices for slices and pizza.. It's best to call location you are going to.
