Now they are in a much better, but still cozy, space on Government Street. This facility has indoor dining space, patio dining space, and plenty of parking, including a back overflow lot. Anthony's has been in business so long due to authentic Italian cuisine, including a great variety of take out deli items. If you need some real Italian grocery items for your home, there's a good chance you can get them at Anthony's. However, if you would rather let them prepare your meal for you, that's an excellent option as well. I think they have a first rate muffuletta, and it's important to have the right bread and meats for those. This is something they have covered! Their Po-Boys are also my favorites. These are pressed so they are crispy and flattened. I typically like to get these with a small salad, which is indeed an excellent choice. If you have room, there's always some great dessert choices. Another consideration is picking up something to take home for later, I think a tub of high quality imported olives are a good selection. Don't forget their cheeses as well, these can lift your home cooking to a higher level. Next time you are in the Government Street Arts and Entertainment District, drop into Anthony's for a bite, dessert, or take home items. You'll definitely thank yourself later!

Everything was disrespectfully delicious. Every bite had us questioning our life choices in the best way. By the end of the meal, we were all sleepy and completely defeated by how good the food was. The staff was on point, courteous, and polite. Our food came out hot, fast, and perfectly plated with consistency that never misses. My only small complaint is that the sweet potato habanero sauce isn't as thick as it used to be. I'm a little annoyed about that, but it still tastes exactly the same Cochon Butcher remains one of those must visit New Orleans spots that never disappoints. Great food, great service, and a place I'll always adore.

We ordered the black-eyed pea chili and the muffuletta, and the sandwich completely stole the show. The bread was perfectly soft, and you can really taste the difference in quality with their in-house meats. The olive salad tied the whole thing together, complementing the rich, savory flavors perfectly. That being said, the space gets extremely crowded on busy days. It's tight enough that you'll likely have people bumping into your chair or brushing past you while you eat and walk through the dining room. The biggest downside was the service at the counter. The line to the cashiers was very disorganized. Instead of calling the next person in line, one cashier was pulling people up at random, which made the ordering process frustrating. Overall, the food is fantastic, but be prepared for chaotic crowds and a messy ordering system during peak hours.

First, the store was dirty. Plates were piles up on numerous tables. The floors were sticky. Next, I ordered behind a group of three people. After they ordered, the employee walked off and I waited another five minutes or so to order. I had to repeat my order twice and correct the drink as she was pouring it. I stepped aside to wait. While waiting, a couple of kids walked in. They waited about 10 minutes without being acknowledged. They left and two employees who just needed to acknowledge their existence made some snarky comments for all to hear. While I was waiting, there was clearly a tussle in the kitchen with employees shouting at each other and one lovely f bomb dropped. Another employee mediated and calmed it down, but they all had attitude. The trio in front of me got their food after about 20 minutes of waiting. A door dasher came and waited a while during that time and got his order. Someone finally asked me what I was waiting on. I am pretty sure at that moment they just started to make it. Here is where the only star was earned - A very nice employee walked out with my food after another 10 minutes and apologized for the wait. She offered me a free item, but I just took a refill of my drink. She was friendly and acknowledged the fact I had been waiting for so long. (35 minutes for slathering chicken salad on a croissant) I walked out the door just in front of that trio who had finished their meals and I had just received mine. So I took my order home..... no side. The sandwich was correct, but they did not give me the entire order. That was disappointing. And I paid way too much for that sandwich. I won't go back. As much as I loved the restaurant and love the menu all these years, this location sours it. Someone in corporate needs to visit this location because it will not and should not make it.

One afternoon, I was passing by this place, but I didn't have time to stop in and check it out. A day or two later, I went online and began to look up reviews. The reviews that I found were mixed, which sort of surprised me, because the things I had heard from a couple of my fellow local residence, were not very positive to say the least. But we kind of thought maybe that was due to the fact that the restaurant was fairly new, and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, as I always like to support local businesses. A few days later, I passed by the restaurant around 5:30 to 6, which should have been peak dinner hour. I was the only one in the restaurant. They do not have any signage showing their restaurant items, nor do they have any standard restaurant menu's. There was a middle aged gentleman, sitting at one of the tables, looking at his phone, and I realized he was probably the owner, or at least one of the owners. He looked like he did not even want to get up to serve me. I decided then and there I was not going to order, but I did want to check things out. I asked him about menus and he said all he had was two paper printed menu items, without the prices, taped down to the countertop! Once again, no prices were listed! On items that were unavailable, having been either sold out, or never even cooked that particular day, there was actually a black mark through that item. I asked him if he had a copy of the menu that he could give me and a couple of extras for some neighbors. I was going to ask him if he had one that included the prices, but before I could say anything, he rudely said that they don't have any copies. I was going to ask him if I could take a photo of the items, but then I figured what good would that do? If the prices were not even listed, and the same items were not available each day. Also, I have been at restaurants where I have asked for a takeout menu, and they said they didn't have one, but would be glad to either print one out, or make a copy to give me. But I have never been at a restaurant that did not include any prices! I actually think this is the first time I have ever done a review on a restaurant without having actually eaten at the restaurant. But I felt strongly that people needed to be warned before they make a drive unnecessarily. I thought that the fact that there were no customers at a time that should have been peak dinner hours, should have been a red flag to begin with.
