The temperature of the food. The food was not hot, and should have been served warmer. The other thing was that I ordered the pork belly bao buns. For the price I expected some good quality food. Sorely disappointed, the bun was COLD. How it a steamed bun served cold. Also the pork belly was dry and tuff. That doesn't even make since to me. Was this even put in a steamer? We initially were going to the Purple Parrot Coffee Shop in Atlantis but there was a wait of about 40 minutes for two people on a Saturday about 11:30am. So, we figured we would check out other restaurants in Atlantis since we were already there. We continued walking toward Cafe Alfresco and discovered it had been replaced by Red Bloom. We had heard of Red Bloom but did not know that it replaced Cafe Alfresco. We inquired about a wait and were told we could be seated right away. So we decided to check it out. Our drinks were brought to us very quickly and we decided to try their potstickers appetizer because that is what we always do in restaurants of this style. We ordered our entrees a short while later and we both decided to get the 775 Pho. My wife loves Pho and will get it sometimes when on her own and sometimes she talks me into it. The potstickers arrived and looked really good. They came garnished with green onion and a side of soy sauce. We had almost finished them when the Pho arrived. The Pho also looked really good and came with lots of additions like Hoisin sauce, hot sauce, basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, lime wedges, onions and jalapeños. It was very tasty. The bowls were huge. On the downside, we kept finding what appeared to be fat in the Pho. I wish I took a picture. We assumed it was for flavor but we took it out as we encountered it. I saw reviews about Red Bloom on Yelp! so today, I decided to drop by and sample a few things from their menu that piqued my interest. The restaurant is located inside the Atlantis Casino, next to the buffet. First impressions of the restaurant: the decor was nice, bold and vibrant but tasteful. The hostess, Daniela (according to her name tag) was very pleasant and kind; she waited patiently as I flipped back and forth through the menu. The food was a bit on the pricier side of my budget but the quality and quantity more than made up for it. My to-go order comprised of their salt and pepper chicken wing appetizer, the pork belly bao and the pork belly adobo. First the good news: I loved the pork belly bao; it was easily my favorite among the three dishes I ordered and devoured it voraciously. Now, the bad news: the salt and pepper chicken wings texturally had a nice, crispy thin coating and was light-tasting for a fried item (loved that); unfortunately, the meat itself was a bit bland, the sweet chili sauce serve with it definitely added some much needed flavor. The pork adobo which was my whole reason for trying this place was NOT an authentic take of Filipino adobo. The pork was tender and the portion size was generous, plus it has a good balance of lean and fat (as chef Emeril Legasse often said: "Pork fat rules!") but the sauce missed the mark, it was too thick when traditional adobo sauce is supposed to be more loose and runny; plus, it tasted like a thickened soy gravy with a splash of vinegar. Basic Filipino adobo sauce is supposed to be equal parts soy and vinegar plus water (equal to the amount of soy and vinegar together) and a little bit of sugar and pepper to taste; then it is simmered for a couple of hours until the pungent vinegar smell becomes more subtle and all the flavors incorporates into one cohesive flavor. Needless, to say I was kind of disappointed with the pork adobo but that hasn't deterred me from trying the other dishes on their menu;so, I will most definitely be back. read more

My husband and I went here for Valentine's Day and it was okay. The food was good but the service wasn't the best. Albeit, it was Valentine's Day so they were pretty busy. We got the pork belly bao buns which were really yummy. Their gluten free calamari was the absolute BEST! Omg I had never had such yummy calamari and I don't even like it all that much but the way it was cooked and seasoned and the yummy sauce they served with it made it that much more satisfying! I also got the Lychee lemon drop and that was also tasty! They serve it with a little lychee ball as well. My husband got the Korean rice bowl and I got the gluten free miso-glazed salmon. My husband enjoyed his meal very much and it was so good. Mine on the other hand, was so bland I absolutely did not enjoy it. Solid choice in the Atlantis for a casual dinner! Came on Sunday night, not crowded at all, orders were taken quickly. My short rib ramen was delicious: very very slight hint of spicy, with kimchi, tender bok choy, and bamboo shoots (yum!). The short rib itself was a solid 4 stars. Most pieces were perfectly cooked but one piece was a bit overcooked. My husband got the Mongolian beef which he thought was 3/5. Sesame balls were solid too: deliciously crunchy and oily as they should be, but could use a bit more filling. Prices are all reasonable too. Overall I'm glad we came! read more

I like eating at The Atlantis occasionally. When Café Alfresco was taken out, I must admit, I was a little sad. To see Red Bloom as the replacement was cool as it offers something new. I went with my coworker for lunch after a long week. While I had not heard of a lot of this cuisine, he was very familiar with the menu items after having lived near the Bay Area for years. We started with the Dim Sum Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai served with Ginger Soy Dipping Sauce ($10). These were great! They were savory and every bite was packed with flavor. Definitely a bit of a learning curve as they are slippery to grab with chopsticks. I found them sticky and fun to eat. I would absolutely recommend these. We ordered the Bao Buns with Boneless Braised Short Rib made of Korean Spiced meat, Cucumber, and Daikon Radish Slaw ($18). I found the buns themselves to be puffy and almost sweet. The flavor was out of this world good! The meat had big umami flavor and the slaw I could've eaten on the side. It was so, so good. The vinegar flavor did not overwhelm the slaw and I prefer it that way. My coworker found the flavor to be almost too savory per his experience. We each also ordered Ramen. (Can you tell we came HUNGRY?) My coworker ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen. His ramen was comprised of Double Pork Broth, Pork Belly, Red Miso, Szechuan Pepper Bomb, Baby Bok Choy, Bamboo Shoots, Scallions, Chili Threads, Nori, Serrano Peppers, and a Marinated Soft Boiled Egg. He found his ramen to be okay. He only got 1/2 of the marinated soft boiled egg and mentioned the spiciness he'd been looking for wasn't there. He's had a lot of Bay Area Ramen and found this good but not as good as it gets. I ordered the Wor Wonton Soup, which had Chicken Broth, Pork Wontons, Chicken, Shrimp, Mushrooms, Baby Bok Choy, Water Chestnuts, and Scallions. Mine was good. I really liked the pork wontons, but found them a little of the big side to handle. It was overall, what I'd expected. I wouldn't say best ramen I've had but I wouldn't say it was bad by any means. Overall, I liked Red Bloom. I do not see myself going there very often though. I don't frequent casinos often for starters. Considering the two of us ate like kings, we still spent $60 on the meal. You never really know what you are going to get with casino food. Usually, it's pretty basic, but it gets the job done. That's not the case at Red Bloom-- The Atlantis' newest restaurant addition. I was initially drawn by the great vegetarian menu options. And because I LOVE asian, asian fusion, chinese food and there are essentially none of these options in the North Tahoe Basin. Talk about a treat!!! I ordered the Fried Tofu Bao. These are virtually impossible to find, and WOW were they incredible! The tofu was crispy on the outside, but fluffy on the inside, and the bao bun was the perfect, soft texture. The seasoning of the marinated, crisp veggies on the inside were such a phenomenal compliment as well. 10/10. I also ordered the Thai Coconut Curry Tofu Ramen. I am always skeptical of vegetarian ramen because it is typically lacking flavor. That was not the case here. At all. This ramen hit all of the right notes-- the heat, the umami, the saltiness. Just. Perfect. 10/10. My partner ordered the Pork and Shrimp Sui Mai (steamed dumpling shaped like a flower) and devoured them. Sui Mai, like my Bao, are also incredibly rare on any local menus. In fact, I don't think I've seen them available locally. For a drink, I ordered the Dragon's Fortune. The description read like an asian fusion version of an Old Fashioned, but it was served up, in a Coupe style glass, and it was a tad sweeter than I expected. It was delicious, and beautifully garnished, but I could only drink one because of that reason. Service was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly! And best of all, there was no wait and we didn't need reservations! I'm a big fan of almost all the restaurants at Atlantis, so, I had a late dinner with a couple of friends to see what the newest addition to their restaurants was all about. I made reservations (highly recommended)...we were seated promptly and our waiter, Richard, greeted us promptly. The staff are following all the current health and safety mandates. Let's talk about the food...I'm a huge fan of Asian cuisine and know my way around the many different styles offered here. We ordered Dim Sum for appetizers: Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai...Ginger Soy Dipping Sauce ($10) Shrimp Har Gow...Ginger Soy Dipping Sauce ($10) Shishito Peppers...Toasted Sesame Seeds, Yuzu Ponzu ($8) I've eaten at some of the best Dim Sum restaurants around the nation and they do this style justice. Both the Siu Mai and the Har Gow were very tasty, but, there were only 4 pieces in each steamer basket for each order! For $10? Very disappointing. The Shishito Peppers were a welcome treat...perfectly blistered and the Ponzu sauce was an extra added taste option to dip in. A generous amount on the portion. As always, I managed to find a couple of the elusive spicy ones. For my main course: Korean Spiced Beef Short Rib (Rice Bowl)...Daikon Radish Slaw, Kimchi, Marinated Soft Boiled Egg, Ginger Scallion Salad, Pickled Shiitake Mushrooms, Korean BBQ Sauce ($17) The Short Ribs were tender and nicely seasoned, the Kimchi had just the right kick to it and the Daikon Radish Slaw, Ginger Scallion Salad, Pickled Shiitake Mushrooms, as well as the Rice were a great compliment to the dish, adding a nice variety of texture and flavor. Unfortunately, the Marinated Soft Boiled Egg was overcooked and the center wasn't runny to add the unctuousness to the plate that would've been welcome. While very tasty, still a bit overpriced at $17 for the portion size. One of my friends ordered: Yakitori Chicken (Rice Bowl)...Daikon Radish Slaw, Pea Shoots, Ginger Scallion Salad, Pickled Shiitake Mushrooms, Marinated Soft Boiled Egg, Peanut Sauce ($18) Again, the Marinated Soft Boiled Egg was overcooked and the center wasn't runny. I didn't get a taste, but, he said that he liked it while also commenting that he thought it was overpriced at $18 for the portion size. My other friend ordered: Pho 775...Shaved Beef, Beef Tendon, Beef Meat Balls, Bean Sprouts, Scallions, Jalapeños, Thai Basil, Lime, Shaved Onions, Cilantro ($18) FYI...before I comment, please know that I've (literally) eaten at EVERY Pho joint in this area! It's one of my favorite foods. I did get a taste of the broth...meh...nothing special...plus, not near enough Basil, Cilantro & Jalapenos...and they were already added into the bowl, instead of being served on the side so you can add it yourself, which is half the fun of eating Pho! They also didn't offer or bring the standard condiments that are served at every Pho place around...Hoisin Sauce, Sri Racha, Chili Sauce and Chili Oil. It was a nice sized portion, lots of broth and noodles, but, AGAIN, overpriced at $18, especially considering the amount of protein that was in the bowl. The food is good. The prices? Not so much. In my opinion, it's over-priced for what you actually get. Our waiter, Richard, was the bright spot of the evening...very attentive and personable, without being overbearing (which, if you read my reviews, is a pet peeve of mine). I've seen a lot of reviews complaining about long waits for food and food showing up cold/lukewarm...we didn't experience those issues at all...maybe because we ate later in the evening (our reservation was at 10pm). This place just opened up and what used to be Cafe Alfresco and near the buffet. They did a good job remodeling the place. My wife and I decided to use our comps since we earned quite a bit the last time we went to Atlantis as Fridays are always 5x points. Make sure you make reservations due to covid-19 and the Nevada law. The place is definitely overpriced for Asian food and dishes range from $15 to $25 dollars. We ordered the crispy pork buns, duck ramen and pork belly ramen. The crispy pork buns were good, but the pork was a little dry and can be very salty because they do put a lot of Hoisin sauce on the bun. The duck ramen was very good and not too bad as it was shredded and enjoyed it quite a bit. Anyways why the 3 stars, yeah it was over priced for Asian food and the food for the price was not worth it. This new Asian restaurant is located inside the Atlantis Casino ... next to the buffet. I went with my daughter and a close friend so we decided to order multiple items to share. I'd like to say that I enjoyed everything we ordered .. Dim Sum: Pork/Shrimp Dumplings, Shrimp Dumplings, Sobe Noodles, Soft Shell Crab Boa ... I especially love the Soft Shell Crab Boa. Then we tried a 1/2 order of Peking Duck .. which they served with rice & pea shoots. We had to put the duck in to Boa buns ourselves ... most restaurants put the first serving together for you and some offer to do the second round if you haven't done it yourself. It was tasty and really not a big deal to put it together yourself. Then we since we tried pork, shrimp and duck but no beef. So we ordered the Short Rib Rice Bowl ... this was a very tasty dish. We finally all agreed that we could not eat any more. But the waiter brought of a sample of the Carmel Rice Pudding. This was very tasty, but the rice was lumpy. This Nouveau Asian Restaurant was very enjoyable. A little of different types of cuisine. A little pricey. This place is located inside the Atlantis casino right by their buffet. It's very small inside but intimate and decor is nice too. It's a good place to bring your loved one and family. We weren't very hungry so we decided to share their whole roasted duck. They said it comes with scallions and cucumber, 7 bao (only 6 came, but who cares anyways) and their hoisin sauce. This was the best duck I've had ever or maybe in a very very long time. The service there was great too. All were professional and checked up on us often. Went on a Friday night for an early dinner around 6pm. I was so excited to try this place out. Reno doesn't have very many options for dim sum, so when I heard of Red Bloom I needed to try it. My husband and I arrived the restaurant was almost empty, the server was very nice and attentive. We started with a couple cocktails the Smoke on the Water and Dragons Fortune. Both the cocktails were good. The Smoke on the Water has a cool show where they use a smoke gun to make a bubble on the drink and when it pops it makes a cool smoke effect. Both drinks were good. Not very strong, but tasty. We ordered the Sui Mai and salt and pepper chicken wings for an appetizer and the dan dan noodles to split as an entree. All 3 came out together. The Sui Mai was not very flavor full and it was also rubbery. The chicken wings were a redemption they were Crispy and flavorful with little Serrano bites to spice them up. The dan dan noodles were probably the worst I've ever had. Dry and flavorless. I was surprised for a Chinese restaurant there were no sauces besides soy sauce on the table. I've never been to a dim sum that didn't have black vinegar, seasame, or chili paste avaliable. So that was pretty disappointing as well. I asked for chili paste and got a dish of oil. I'm not sure if they have sauces and we needed to ask, but after getting chili oil I didn't think I was going to get what I wanted. The 3 dishes were quite a lot of food, it just wasn't worth the cost for the flavor. We won't be going back for more than maybe drinks and appetizers if we even do that. We've been back quite a few times to try other dishes here, and I really enjoy the combo chow mein here. Has a good taste and they don't use the regular chow mein noodles, but a thinner type of noodles which is really good. Seems like they've upped an order of sui mai to 6 from 5 so that's good. Visited Reno for a quick getaway from the bay. I initially wanted to go to Toucans buffet, but the line was ridiculously long and I was super hungry. Went to Red Bloom around the corner of the casino because the Korean short ribs were calling me haha. When I got in, I wasn't greeted right away and had to wait a few mins before someone noticed me. The person that noticed me walked in from the casino and asked if we were helped yet which was odd. There were only 3 other groups in the restaurant so they weren't busy at all. Our server came and got our drink order first then our food order moments later. I ordered the Korean short ribs, salt and pepper chicken wings, and the Korean beef baos. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. The atmosphere was nice and noise level was average since we were next to the casino. It was clean and organized. I'm giving 3 stars because the service was super slow although it was only my group and another group in the restaurant and the food wasn't the best, but it was good enough to crave my hunger. Our server was awesome and super courteous. He came around every so often to check if we were ok and if we needed anything else. The staff is nice, but not overly friendly or attentive, the menu is nice with several options for vegetarians and the wine list is ok. The noise from the buffet next door is distracting, so if you're looking for a quiet dinner, this is not the location. While the flavor profiles of the food are nice, the plating is just meh. I ordered the mushroom bau buns and they were delicious, but cold. Wasn't sure if that is how they were supposed to be served, as our server did not come back to check on us for awhile. On our last trip we visited the Terrace Oyster bar and sushi. For this visit we tried a different outlet. There was a long line forming in front of the Buffet and grill, but available close by is the Red Bloom Asian Kitchen. Normally I'm not excited of a casino hotel Asian fare, somehow after met up with my other half, we decided give this place a try. We were greeted and seated, ambience is spacious, warm and cozy. The menu selection is very extensive - dishes cover Thai, Chinese, Korean and Japanese. My lady decided on the beef chow- fun and my selection was the Duck noodle. I was expecting stewed duck leg noodle but to my surprise, my order came in with roasted duck instead: Hong Kong style roasted duck, very generous portion indeed, I would say half a duck, with egg noodles and garnished with baby bak choi in broth which was delicious in depth and comforting. The beef chow-fun arrived with the great aroma of "Wok-hae" which is a high remark the Chinese use for Essence of wok cooking. The chow-fun was very delicious, skillfully done with tender beef, bean sprouts and scallion, almost perfectly seasoned if the adding of sugar could be less (I wondered why ?) . The meal was so fulfilling, the duck was delicious and so much, still had left overs even after I shared some with my other half . But unfortunately the food just fell flat for me. It wasn't bad, but most of the dishes were lacking something and the ambiance of the restaurant is more cafeteria style than upscale Asian. The dishes were all brightly plated and decorated and the service was really great, but not a single thing we ate was memorable, and I wouldn't want to reorder anything. My son had been dying to try Red Bloom for awhile now so he took us out for a Friday night dinner. Atmosphere was nice (but I do miss the pizza restaurant that was there before). Our waitress was good, and the food wasn't bad. But the worst of it was time. It took forever to get our food. To say they were slow is an understatement, they were SLOW. It got to a point where we were the only ones in the room without our food. After waiting nearly half an hour hubby got up to go get Keno cards to play while we waited. Son was concerned the food would arrive while he was gone. "No, it won't." And he was right. He got Keno tickets, came back to the table, we filled them out, hubby turned them in and even had time to chat with someone else in line for a bit and when he returned the food STILL had not arrived. Remember, this all transpired after we'd already waited 30 minutes for our dinner. After eating we ordered dessert and immediately regretted it as we knew it was going to take forever and we'd never get out of there. Luckily it wasn't as long as dinner but the wait was still ridiculous. Thank god we didn't have other plans afterwards because we would've been late for them. We were happy to try this when our regular Atlantis faves were packed on a busy Saturday night and we're so glad we did! My husband and I shared pot stickers, shu mai, duck bao and pork fried rice, everything was fresh and tasty, but the fried rice was next level. So many yummy veggies and huge chunks of pork. I think it was the best I've ever had. My mom had the miso salmon and she loved it too. Tender salmon cooked perfectly and the jasmine rice and vegetables were great too. They have a huge selection of drinks and we thought the prices were about in line with most Asian spots. And our service was outstanding. Look forward to coming back. read more

Little to no wait :) service was great. Our server was helpful and courteous. Got the chicken chow mein and it was flavorful and the noodles were not over cooked. Sister got the healing soup and she liked it. The calamari was a little on the salty side but the sauce helped cut the saltiness. Got the fried rice and that was perfectly cooked with big chunks of shrimps and purple cauliflowers!. Nephew got the Vietnamese wrap and he said that it was definitely better than the ones we made last night, with lettuce, carrots, shrimp, and vermicelli noodles plus a side of hot n sour soup, which was thick and filling. Also got the lemon ginger tea but it could have used more lemon flavor and a little less sweet. our water glasses were never empty and the restrooms (in the casino floor) was not too far away :) all in all, a great experience with some yummilicious Chinese food. Got room service first night and it was ok. Regular tasting su mai! Pork belly ramen was ok ok. Egg rolls was ok ok. It's nothing special or stand out flavor. So this review was from 2nd day first trip sit down in restaurant. We got pho beef and it was a big portion. Recommend get 1 pho and share. Shrimps tempura is very good and fresh shrimps. Tonight 2nd dinner; Overall is good. Sea Bass is impressive and jasmine tea is WONDERFUL per presentation. Dan Dan Noodle is too oily and too spicy. Plus it is DEFINITELY not the authentic DAN DAN I grew up eating. But service here is very sweet and caring. Manager comes over and greet to all customers. read more

The service and presentation was amazing but, the food was lacking. I was kind of disappointed with the amount of options they offered. I was hoping the food was going to make up for it. I think it's difficult to open a restaurant that successfully encompasses multiple Asian cuisines. I've had decent restaurants that served Japanese/Korean, Chinese/Korean, Chinese/Vietnamese, even Indian/IndoChinese, but I have never been to a restaurant that serves Chinese/Thai/Japanese/Vietnamese/Korean all successfully. I think the common mistake is believing that all Asian cuisines are the same. The main thing we came here for was the Bao buns, and they did not disappoint. The crispy Porkbelly buns were flavorful, the buns soft, the filling generous and savory. We also had Potstickers, Shrimp Har Gao, Porkbelly Ramen, Korean Spiced Short Rib entree, and Soy glazed Chilean Sea Bass. The Potstickers were ok, with an occasional taste of charred onion that was unexpected. The Shrimp Har Gow were pretty authentic in taste, with a strong fresh and dried Shrimp flavor and soft chewy skin. The Ramen did not come dressed as advertised. It came with a very large half of a Bok choy, would have been a welcome surprise but it overcooked and slimy. It did come with the sprouts, bamboo shoots, egg, and pork belly but no scallions, nori, or black garlic oil. The noodles were too soft and the broth tasted really creamy. The entrees were both shockingly mild in flavor. Korean food tends to be very pungent with strong flavors so I was surprised that the very large short rib portion was so bland. It was cooked well (braised) with good texture, but definitely not marinated or seasoned with Korean spices. We asked for and received a bowl of sauce that appeared to be cornstarch thickened braising liquid that tasted much more like Chinese flavors (star anise, soy, ginger maybe, did not detect any gochujang or kalbi marinade as the Chef explained was the intent). The Bass was about a 4 oz portion with a swipe of orange sauce that didn't really have a strong flavor, wouldn't really call it a soy glaze, maybe it was miso? The fish appeared to have been steamed and was cooked nicely. I think a little more description on preparation for the entrees would be welcome, we wrongly assumed both dishes would have been grilled or pan fried, not "wet" preparations. I think having a better idea of what to expect would be helpful. Both dishes came with a lovely side of sauteed pea shoots. The Pea shoots and the Bao were the best parts of the meal. The service was excellent, our waitress Luisa was attentive and patient. The ambience of the place is very bright and modern. Maybe a little too bright? It is separated from the casino and buffet with a slatted wall but I feel like a little more separation would be desirable. Maybe some silk or paper panels would help and would stay within an Asian theme. The price point is easily over $100 for two with drinks and dessert or apps, a bit high to be dining while looking at a keno board in my opinion. I know openings are rough, and I do feel like they are attentive to feedback so with fine-tuning this could be great. We had a nice chat with one of the Chefs and his vision for the restaurant. It seems he may expand the dim sum which I can get behind. The Chinese flavors were the most authentic. Get the Bao buns (3 pcs $16-20 depending on type). read more

It wasn't too busy when we went in which we thought was good since the last time we went was opening day, but surprisingly we couldn't get any service. We were sat and then no one came around to ask for our drinks so we had to flag someone down and this happened all night where we had to flag someone down. Even when doing that we were told that someone else would take care of it or the person never came back. Food was okay, nothing extravagant, but not bad. However the service made the food not worth it. We couldn't get water refills or extra napkins because our server could not be found and everyone else we asked couldn't do that apparently. I also saw many people that came in after us immediately greeted and ask for beverage orders and their food/check came out before ours did. We asked for the check and no one came so we eventually had to just get up and pay up front. We had a similar experience with opening day, but figured that they would have cleaned up any kinks since then, but we were wrong. Most likely not coming back to this restaurant the next time we visit. read more
