Tried this place for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I've had many friends tell me this place has the best pizza. The food was good. We got the bread sticks, which had cheese and bell peppers with marinara to dip... surprisingly addicting. Pepperoni pizza was good, couldn't have just one slice. The linguini with clams was fairly decent. They have a decent selection of beers, from your regular beers to some local breweries. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. read more

I ordered the Joeys special and sadly it wasn't that great. Even though the specialty pizza had a lot of toppings that sounded great, the sauce was so bland and it made the pizza mediocre. The service was just odd, after I paid they just ignored me. They Didn't hand me my order, Just left it on the opposite side of the counter. At least slide it closer to me so i do not have to reach over by your registers to get my order I said thank you and got nothing back. We ordered a cheese, a pepperoni and a sausage pizza. There is nothing wrong with the toppings, the cheese and meats were cooked well and were good. The sauce was pretty good, I wish it were zestier. The crust is not my fave. It really felt too bready, like Little Caeser's. I didn't expect this thicker, boring crust from a specialty pizza place where the pies are about $20 each. "We dropped your chicken parm. on the floor sir, sorry. It'll be another 15 mins." I'm sorry, what?! This was what I was told last time I was here. Then promised a fresh pizza because of the hold up. Chicken parm finally comes and who knows if it was a new one or the one from the floor lol. Pizza is handed to me cold. I request refund on pizza since I didn't want to wait another 15 mins for them to get their timings together. Mgr. gets an attitude with me when I ask is that really what you have your employees tell people? He says, would you rather me lie? I said in this case yes. When telling someone their food was dropped on the floor, it leaves you kind of uneasy as to what you're eating. Will never go back here again. I see it's super busy which is great for the owner but the pizza from there just isn't good. It's missing that ooomph. It's sad cuz this place is the only pizza joint that actually cooks their pizza enough without having to order "well done". read more

I like this place, it is a nice family restaurant with alright "Americana" Italian food. Family owned- Friendly atmosphere, local hangout, great beer, plenty of TVs, terrific salad and dressing. I could eat a trough of it! Pizza is not my style, on the soft/puffy side. I prefer the thin crust, but its still rather puffy and soft. The toppings were OK. I haven't tried their other dishes. Its a little on the pricey side I think. The floors were sticky under the tables when we were last there. Also it can get hecka loud and hard to get in and out of those booths. They will take reservations for a party, which is a HUGE plus, and they will hold your cake in the fridge for you, which is very very nice. Just a note, no on here has EVER been rude to me or my extended family. The owners are sweet as anything. The servers are terrific, even with my crazy familia barking orders and corralling kiddoes into their chairs. read more

I really hope this quaint place would be a hidden jewel but it was below average. The dough is absolutely the worse! It lacks taste and flavor. Maybe try buttering it at least? We order sausage and pepperoni and what a disappointment. The pepperoni was all char'd around the edges and the sausage accomplished nothing but roll off the pizza like marbles. I tried this business based on yelp reviews and was very disappointed. I ordered by phone and was told the pies would be ready in 10 minutes, which I thought was a bit on the quick side, especially as they had literally just opened and the oven might not be warmed up, but OK. I get there about 10 minutes later and they tell me they are just putting the pies in the oven, and it would be about 10 minutes. OK, that seems about right, and frankly I prefer the food be properly cooked so I was fine with that. However, what I don't want or like to pay for is BURNT pizza. My wife and I walked around the outdoor mall for 10 minutes or so and headed back. They said the pies were not ready and we waited. We were charged a couple minutes later and then a couple minutes after that the pies were given to us. We paid $42 for two large pizzas: one Hawaiian (don't start) and one pepperoni and sausage. This is sort of pricey but I was under the impression it was going to be yummy and worth it, it was certainly NOT. As a comparison, you can get a LARGE massive, multi-pound Chicago deep dish pizza from Masa in Echo Park (the best pizza in LA) for about 30 bucks with two or three toppings. When we got to our family's place 5 mins away, we found out BOTH pies were BURNT, burnt like where the pepperoni is ashen and tastes like you're eating a charcoal briquette. The crusts were burnt, over-browned to the point of being dark, dark brown. They had therefore lost their moisture and were very hard. It was too late to go back as people were hungry so we suffered through it. In my opinion the toppings were not plentiful, the slices were cut thin (to get the 16 slices they claimed) and the cheese was very minimal. It was essentially tasteless. I cannot comment on how it would have tasted if they had not been burnt, but these were not good at all. In reading further reviews I see I am not the only one to complain about burnt pizza this year. Perhaps the oven needs maintenance or the staff needs training. Either way, I was extremely disappointed and felt I wasted my hard earned money. I was getting these pizza's for a Mother's Day gathering (don't judge, when you're 88 like my mom you get what you want to eat!) and it was sad and embarrassing to me. I cannot recommend them, nor will any of my family in the SGV who had eat burnt pizza. read more

Just had the worst experience here. Bad enough that Red Devil just lost a loyal customer after years of patronage. Our pizza was burnt pretty badly. The kids took one bite and spit it out. I called to ask for a replacement or some sort of solution and I was told they wouldn't deliver the replacement even though we only live 8-10 min away. On the bright side they refunded us a whole $4 for our trouble. $31 for a burnt pizza, you make me drive back for another and the best resolution they can offer is $4 back? Really? This whole experience left a pretty bad taste in my mouth and makes me not want to go back. read more

Heard some buzz over the past few years and have finally had a few pies from this blessed establishment. They make a quality pie. A tasty pie. A cheesy but not too much so pie. A well-cooked, with some toasty bits pie. A crust with some good crunch pie. Also, flavorful hot wings, baked to goodness. The cheesy bread. Well pretty cheap for a couple french bread thingies coated with cheese and baked melty, served with ranch and meat sauce. It's also cozy inside. It's a nice place to pull down a tall draft beer and ogle a television. It's a bit oddly long inside on account of the strip mall nook they inhabit. But it works. Decided to give this Red Devil Pizza a try. Went to the Covina RDP a while back. Not sure if they're part of a chain. Ordered a couple pizzas. Mini pizza with olives for my son and medium pizza with Xtra mushrooms. Called it in and they have curbside pickup where they would bring it out to your car. Great experience!! Went back a week later and same order. Very consistent. They've got a repeat customer in me. Next time will try some of the pastas, salads, and sides. Thank you guys!! read more

For some reason, I continue to gravitate to RDP every time I'm in the Foothills. I'm driving down the 210 Fwy and then a RDP pizza pops into my mind. Before I know it, I'm exiting the freeway and heading there for their great pizza. Why is this good? First, they have the 18" pizza. My previous pizza reviews informs you about the added square inches that you get from an 18" pizza versus those smaller 16" pizza. Next, their sauce and crust rock! If a pizza has good sauce and crust, then you know that you're going to have a great experience. Throw in their other fare (e.g., beer, antipasto, bread sticks, pasta, etc.) and you're talking about one of the best pizza spots in the Foothills. I have traveled extensively and have tasted many pizzas. RDP ranks up there with the best of them. There is one added comment. If you're going to order a thin crust pizza (instead of their regular crust), be sure not to add too many ingredients. Their regular crust is thin enough without asking for it to be any thinner. Keep that in mind. Now, back to the 210 Fwy and future thoughts of RDP pizza! read more
