We came here for a corporate event and I was surprised at how modern and nice the facility was. Some of our group was late arriving and it was not problem waiting for them even though we had a scheduled time. This was on a Friday afternoon. The waiting area had "Big" Jenga and other activities to pass the time. Once inside, we did the Gift episode and it was so fun! It started off a bit easy, but then got intense really quick. There are multiple "rooms" you unlock so it didn't feel claustrophobic. They was generous with giving us hints and we ended up "escaping" with less then 10 minutes left. In short: Fun for the whole family. Encounter was amazing but a little difficult. Lost ruins are mostly combo locks. Staff is awesome. Highly recommend. Red Door Escape is one of the best escape rooms I have ever done. I've only done a few but I never had as much fun as I had there. I did the Encounter and it was a great room with very interesting puzzles and very nicely dong. Its one of the harder ones so if you plan on going, bring some friends. If you want an easier one,I recommend anything else but the Lost Ruins. Though the Lost Ruins are easier. Lost Ruins is a very much just a "Go in to the room. Find some hidden stuff, Get the code and open the lock." There is some things that make you think but its basic math and knowing how to read mostly. Shout out to DW and our other Game Master. They both were great Game Masters and gave very helpful clues when needed. Dw also help out with that stupid ass key. So cheers. read more

This is the worst escape room of the several I have been to. My girlfriend and I did the Warrior's Way escape room. One was a malfunctioning lock that the game host told us was a known issue(after the game was underway and we were stuck on it for several minutes), another lock was put on backwards so we were left figuring out whether we had the wrong code even though we had the right one. Another pressure dependant puzzle also malfunctioned. Basically the game host had to come into the rooms several times to set things right. Our immersion was completely broken. We solved the game with about 17 minutes left and we felt like we completed the game just to try to get some of our money's worth and had no fun at all. I am extremely disappointed by the experience. The game's clues in my opinion was poorly designed with a very anticlimactic conclusion. read more

We weren't real impressed with the Escape Room here. We have done several before and this one was the least favorite of the ones we have done. There weren't very many props and it seemed like you had to ask for clues for each step to understand what was wanted. There was a broken prop in our room and we waisted a lot of time before we got help with the prop only to find it was broken. We were told there is a 10% escape rate for the room we did. There is probably a reason outside of the brain power of the players for that rate. Maybe it's time to change that room. Pretty pricey for the experience we had. Workers were very nice. read more

I had been wanting to do an escape room for the longest time and finally made it happen on a girls night out. The staff are all friendly and helpful. It was our first time so they helped us along and we did pretty well. It's a great team building activity for work and a hilarious situation all the time. Me an my hubby came here for our 8 year wedding anniversary. Nick and Mackenzie were our hosts and we really enjoyed it. I've been to 3 other escape rooms and this one was really good. Our friends love escape rooms, and my boyfriend and I have finished many with them. We've always 'escaped' with other brains there, but this was our FIRST time with only us two. And this was the MOST fun one yet ! Mackenzie (sp?) was super helpful with our spontaneous weekday date night when we called in last minute with some questions. Ian was our Gamemaster and was able to guide us through to the end. I think Danny (?) showed us that there were other ways to earn more time/advantages by solving the Riddle of the Week, etc. Everything from the decor/interior of the location to the props in the room were super impressive and so well designed. We've gone to all different escape rooms including around DFW, Houston, Austin, even the Red Door Escape in Southlake. This is by far, my most favorite location now. :) My next challenge is to take advantage of the Red Door 'loyalty' program and do the other rooms here by ourselves, with our friends and family. We did the Encounter room and were very disappointed. The room was very hot and cramped and we were sweating basically the entire time. Some of the puzzles didn't even function as they were supposed to leaving us very confused. One of the employees eventually realized this and helped us out but didn't give us all the time we had lost. Overall this was not an $80 experience and won't be until the rooms and service are upgraded. read more

I am no stranger to escape rooms, I've done a ton in Los Angeles and was excited to try one when I was back home for the holidays. We did the Lost Ruins room, and I just left severly disappointed. Maybe it was because of the holiday season, but the rooms were improperly reset and details just plain overlooked. There were many random objects that we found throughout the hour that had to relationship to the story, and many objects were broken or out of place. There was a panel that was half coming off of a puzzle that suggested it was part of the game, but we didn't think it was clear enough to mess with. The game master also did not contact us in any way to let us know to clarify either despite spending a lot of time on it. Additionally, there was a locked box that had been left open, leading us to spend a lot of time on a clue that was unnecessary at that point. Again, the game master did not help to clarify at all that we were spending 20 minutes on something that was now irrelevant. The biggest issue for me was also the flow. There was none. The game master gave us a binder of clues to use throughout the puzzle and just said "the pages might be out of order," instead of interlacing the clues where they logically fit in the storyline (i.e. opening a chest and finding the next clue inside) The escape room ended up feeling more like following an Ikea manual than any sort of discovery. I mean, how hard is it to fix the order of the pages?!? I've done a very similar escape room with a similar story line, don't know why Red Door thought a freaking binder was the best way to go. I don't know if other rooms are run using this method, but it made the Lost Ruins room an absolute mess and frustration. Felt like I wasted my money. read more

Came here for a corporate team building activity Our room was the gift It was all our first time doing this.the instructions and rules were clear and straight to the point. Only reason why I'm giving it a 3 stars is because all the rooms were hot as heck. The AC I guess was broken or not circulating in the actual rooms. I was wearing a short sleeved shirt and light material and I felt like I was going to pass out between the heat and the hot lights. I even asked about it and they said nothing they can do, felt like torture. As for the rooms we did average and made it to room two no issue, but in room two looks like some props were not set up correctly so even with the clues given by the instructor we were confused and started to all get irritated She was nice enough to come in and help and glad she did because we were right certain props were out of place making it difficult to solve the clues read more

Went to Red Door twice with friends, and both times there were numerous things that didn't work, but the worst part was that the first time we went, the escape door accidentally opened before we finished solving the puzzles. They came in and told us it was a mistake. 2nd time we went, to a DIFFERENT room at Red Door, the SAME thing happens, door opens accidentally before puzzle is solved, and the friends we brought were all so confused. Pretty embarrassing, we've been to tons of escape rooms in Grapevine/Dallas and other cities and never had it happen before. We asked the lady working there if this just happens, and she says it NEVER happens. Funny that it happens to us both times we were there. Adding to it, some parts of the puzzle was broken, there was a lever that was broken (we were only told after the fact). Won't go back and definitely telling friends to stay away. It's a shame because some of the puzzles here are definitely fun, but all the technical glitches ruin the experience. read more

We love escape rooms! We did the lost ruins one and man.... It says "medium" difficulty on there but it's HARD. Given there were only 2 of us but we have never had trouble figuring out rooms like we did with this one. It is very difficult and doesn't give the best clues. If you like coordinates and Indians Jones type of theme, you may like this one but it was a little too difficult for our liking read more

Okay so I've done over 250+ rooms and I have to say I was overall quite impressed. I had issues with my personal experience and that's all I have to go off of. Pros: Customer service/ staff is on point. Friendly and very excited about escape rooms and not there just for a paycheck. The branding and atmosphere of the business is fantastic as well. Having done most of my rooms in LA, I didn't have a high expectation of the budget for the set dec or film type, immersive atmosphere but I have to say the sets were really great! There is a lot of tech in the rooms as well, which we always appreciate as the evolution of escape rooms continue past locks and keys. Cons- We did the ruins "episode". So first off, no music in the room which was very surprising from the pros above to have absolutely no music or sound effects. There were "red herrings" which the game master admitted and that's a huge no. They let us attempt to solve this "puzzle that isn't working so it's more of a red herring" without telling us, or have a sign posted. This happened twice. One in the second room and one in the final room. Time was ticking and we had nothing to let us know that the puzzles weren't working. There's also a puzzle that you have to solve with no indication on which order to plug the numbers into the safe in room two. The game master had to give us the appropriate "_+_=_" to then say at the end there is no indication for the order and that was it. Are you serious? People have to guess which order they go in with the equation above that isn't in the room at all? As an escape room business you want everyone to escape. You want everyone to have the positivity of escaping an experience and having these missing pieces and lack of information doesn't allow people to escape... which is not a great business model as we need 100% affirmation that these changes have been made of red herrings and missing information to come back. read more

Staff had to come in and tell us those items didn't work properly. They also have a fantastic rewards program. We came here on 4th of July because we had already completed all the Red Door games in the Southlake location. The location is very clean and the lobby is spacious. They had a lobby riddle that could earn you a free in-game clue, if answered correctly. Our game master was Joel and he was fantastic! He had a lot of energy and really made things exciting. We played "Encounter" and had a great time. We've gone to a lot of different room escapes and Red Door delivers high-quality experience, riddles/puzzles, and their props are on point. I would highly recommend Red Door for anyone! Their room escapes are great for family/friend bonding time and I've even heard of other teams from work visit for team building experiences. read more

We did Encounter. The room was decorated very well and our game master was great! But I have a few complaints. Please swap out the crank flashlight for a legitimate flashlight. We are placed in a alien space ship. I would think they would have better technology then a crank flashlight. I have a better flashlight in my closet. It would make it easier to use and I would actually use it to look around the room. I was in a group of two cranking a flashlight was more of a distraction than a help. Also the last puzzle needs to either have a slower sequence of flashing lights or put the lights closer together. With two people it was near impossible to figure out and our game master couldn't even perfectly demonstrate how to complete it. Also if things could have been communicated over microphone rather than text the last puzzle could have been explained easier. We used a hint and still couldn't figure it out based off our game masters clue. We sat there for over 5 minutes on the last puzzle and could of escaped if we would of been told "Hey the lights move very fast watch for the pattern" Because to be honest it just looks like a bunch of fast flashing lights that constantly reset when you press the wrong sequence. I've done over 20 escape rooms and this is the first time I'm leaving a review. It's just frustrating because we didn't use any extra hints and had over 5 minutes on the clock and we were on the last puzzle. Like one sentence and we could of been out no problem. Minor inconveniences, a botched last puzzle, and a lack of communication from the game master due to text led to our unpleasant experience. But I gave three stars because everything else was great. read more

Not worth your time OR money. Clues are haphazard and senseless. Props and scenery dilapidated or broken. We "escaped" after about 20 hints (18 unrequested) ( group split into two groups; not stated in scenario) We triggered some mechanisms accidentally and some mechanisms did not function as designed. Too many anachronisms in scenario (flashing lights, backlit silk screen). Even riddle in waiting room was nonsensical. Please please please avoid at all costs ($145 for 4). Save your money.
