French Country Skillet
Kari T.

Here for Saturday Brunch. I got the French Country Skillet and my friend got the breakfast sandwich. Food was good and I definitely have leftovers for the next day. But only leaving this review because of the excellent service we received from Araya H. She was so sweet, attentive, and genuine. Was very refreshing as I haven't had genuine service like that in awhile. Thank you!!

The best cake you will ever put in your mouth.

Rarely do I finish a meal and don't have words. This meal was the best I have had at a restaurant in years. Will suggested the perfect meal, and capped it off with the literal best dessert I have ever had in a restaurant. The chicken fried pork tenderloin was crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. The shrimp and grits were on another level. But the dessert. Oh the dessert. Vanilla sponge. Lemon. Blackberry. Raspberry. It was perfect. This place is a must in Little Rock.

Delicious brunches! Get there early on the weekend, can and does get crowded. The Croissant French Toast is *chef's kiss*, especially with carmelized bananas and toasted pecans.

9.2/10 Brunch Brunch Brunch! You can't go wrong here or at the sister restaurant next door! The skillets that come out of these kitchens are the best brunch items in Little Rock and I stand by that! Whatever suits your fancy, get here early (if not, there will be a wait and it will be warranted!), get a skillet, and go hope happy and full!

Stopped in for what we thought would be a quick lunch. We were wrong. We placed our order (3 burgers and a spaghetti) and it was almost 45mins before the waitress brought or meals. All of the food was very good. Heads up no kids menu...They are dog friendly on the patio.

Egg Benedict with a side of Canadian bacon. They loved it!

This place is ok. Server was really nice though. They do have a nice presentation for their food. I had the French toast on a croissants. It was delicious! My party had different things that were just ok. Nothing special. The biscuit and sausage gravy was delicious too. The bathrooms are not that clean which is a no-no on my book. The place in general was ok. Prices are a bit high for what they offer. Will only come back if in town and my party wants to go there and only in brunch so I can get the French toast.

Oh my goodness! I'm a sucker for red door! Generally, if you go on a Saturday, be prepared for a very long wait. The restaurant isn't large, which I'm guessing is why there's a wait, but the food is definitely worth it. If you are impatient, I feel it is best if you go during the weekday to get the in-and-out experience you desire. I really like the chicken and waffles. The gravy and biscuits are to die for in my opinion! Hands down one of the best brunch spots in town.

I've been coming here for 7yrs and tonight I waited 2 hrs for what you see below. The service was horrible and after 2 hrs they brought me the mystery meat you see below

I've personally worked my way through most of the menu over time, so I was excited for them to try it. It was around 9am so it was still fairly quiet and calm. Believe me it gets busy!! We started with orange juice and a Sunrise Matcha while we looked over the menu and caught up. The service was excellent (always) attentive, friendly, and relaxed, which made it easy to take our time. My companion ordered the B Street Bowl (potatoes, smoked brisket, onions, and peppers) with the queso served on the side and eggs cooked to order(fried hard). I ordered The Chenal which is their seasoned grilled shrimp with bacon, peppers, and tomatoes over cheesy grits. I added an over-medium egg and a side of hollandaise. Both dishes were delicious and incredibly satisfying. The portions were huge, and we each ended up taking a to-go box home for a mini meal later. It's the kind of brunch spot where you can sip your drink, take your time, and leave very full. Tip: If you order the B Street Bowl, getting the queso on the side lets you control the richness. Everything is amazing here. If you're a newbie, you can't go wrong with a Benedict!

It was lunchtime, and even though I thought I wanted something sweet like French toast the brisket wrap caught my eye, and I decided to give that a try instead. Meanwhile, the nice lady sitting next to me received her bananas, foster pancakes, and I immediately started kicking myself for not going that route. Her bananas were beautifully caramelized with quite a bit of sauce, topping the pancakes, and it looked heavenly. According to her, it was heavenly. Moments later, my brisket wrap arrived with the tiniest little container of a garlic aïoli, which was clearly homemade. The rap itself was jampacked full of succulent, perfectly cooked beef, but when you put a little bit of that aïoli on there, it really stepped its game up and shined! I left completely stuffed in a very happy camper and you will too. Enjoy!

Traveling through a Little Rock for work, my group decided to grab breakfast before flying out. We came in due to the raving reviews from a multitude of online sources and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Root Benny and the blueberry muffin based on the host's recommendation. First cut into my poached egg and I already knew it was the start of a culinary journey. Absolute flavor and texture perfection. The seasonal greens (steamed kale?) paired so well with the greens and the crostini was the perfect vehicle for yolk dipping. The blueberry muffin was small but delicious--exactly what you should expect from a muffin. I wish I would've remembered to order the cookies to go. I suppose I'll have to come back.

I really enjoyed the spicy tofu bowl with grits and collared greens, their homemade cornbread, and strawberry shortcake for dessert! I also liked their arancini which was on the specials menu. Their classic lemonade was delicious, and the perfect complement to my meal. I'd highly recommend The Root Cafe for a memorable meal!

One of our friends (and a Little Rock native) recommended Boulevard Bread Company, and we're so grateful that we stopped to check this cute spot out! There are a few Boulevard locations in Little Rock, and while this one wasn't the most convenient to the highway, it was still open for lunch as we were driving through the city around 2:30 PM. I placed our order online from the road, so when we pulled in, our sandwiches were ready and waiting! I'm glad we did order ahead, as they were still pretty busy when we arrived. We grabbed a table and enjoyed our lunch inside the cafe. We split a couple of their signature sandwiches, and our favorite of the two was the pastrami. The rye bread pairs quite nicely with the roast beef. We also shared the turkey sandwich, which was good but not as memorable as the pastrami. I can confidently say that we'd make Boulevard our new go-to road trip stop in Little Rock! From the freshly baked bread and tasty sandwiches to the friendly service, this is a solid spot for lunch.

After being added to the waitlist, we grabbed drinks at the bar and waited outside for our table. About 25 minutes later, we checked back in with the hostess, only to find out that the iPad they use to manage the waitlist had died. She apologized, and we were seated shortly afterward. However, it left us wondering how much longer we would have waited had we not checked in ourselves. To make matters more frustrating, we noticed at least one party that arrived after us was seated before we were. Unfortunately, the service didn't improve after we were seated. We sat at our table for about 10 minutes without being greeted by anyone. Several servers walked past, made eye contact with us, and continued on without offering menus, water, or even letting us know someone would be with us shortly. After waiting with no acknowledgment at all, we decided to leave. I understand that busy weekends can lead to delays, and mistakes like technology issues happen. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication and attentiveness throughout our visit. An acknowledgment or update would have gone a long way. We left feeling overlooked and unwelcome, and can't recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
