The taste of the food is good, but they were a little slow in getting the food to our table. Our server was nice. There was a hair on my French toast, but they remade it and took half off the price. After remaking it my food was lukewarm. My husband got Steak and Eggs and the steak was thin so medium well was actually well done. This is a good place to try but we would not return. read more

This restaurant style was unique and adorable. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor patio is pet friendly! I love the decor and the layout. Our service was super great also! Loved our waitress, she was very friendly and answered any questions we had. She even let us sample some of the beers and wines. My dad ordered the chicken parmesan and got the small size portion. They offer a small and a large. The small was still a pretty big portion. You can tell that the fresh marinara was house made. He loved it! I ordered the crab and lobster stuffed mushroom appetizer as my meal along with the small size pablano pepper and corn bisque. The small size of soup was still a bowl so I don't know what the large size is. The stuffed mushrooms I requested to be made without the veal marinara sauce that they cook it in, I do not eat veal. Without the sauce they were very dry but my waitress did warn me ahead of time that they would be dry. I asked if they could just cook them in regular marinara sauce but instead they put it on the side and cooked it without sauce. I didn't see the big deal in cooking it in a different sauce than they were going to. Oh well. They were mostly crab stuffed mushrooms, I didn't taste or see any lobster. I went to Red Door for brunch and I thought the service was quick, but it was not very crowded being the day after Christmas. The aesthetic was cute with an actual red door hanging inside above the bar and I liked that they had both indoor and outdoor dining. I ordered the Laredo Express breakfast skillet and I enjoyed the presentation because it actually came out on a skillet. Tasted like good savory southern food and it made me want to take a nap right after! It hit the spot! This is actually listed as one of the best restaurants in Little Rock.....yikes! I've been to Red Door a few times now and each experience has just been ok. I would honestly rate this place a 3.8. The service here is always friendly and everyone has a sense of urgency to get you taken care of quickly. This is something I can appreciate! I've tried the stuffed mahi which was good and recently the brunch experience. This place gets packed so be prepared. Usual wait is about 20-30 minutes during peak brunch hours. I ordered the house salad with champagne vinaigrette, mimosa, and chicken 'n waffles. The vinaigrette was not what I was expecting at all. Very tart and gritty. Like you couldn't even toss the salad because the dressing was so stiff. The chicken 'waffles are actually chicken tenders (not wings) paired together. The chicken was crispy but not flavorful and the waffle was sweet and fluffy! Overall, I will visit again...I'm just having a hard time understanding why this restaurant is listed as one of the best for dinner AND brunch. Maybe I need more visits. Stay tuned........ read more

You get to enjoy having dinner by candle light, because there are many lit candles in the restaurant during the evening. The hostess and our waiter were both very kind and accommodating. Guy Fieri tells no lies. This place is worth it! Stopped in on a weekday based on the recommendation of the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. We were seated fairly quickly by a friendly host who also turned out to be our waiter. I ordered the barbecue shrimp and grits, the small portion. It was phenomenal. The barbecue sauce worked perfectly with the tangy cheesiness of the grits. The only complaint I have was that the waiter recommended that I get the small portion over the large portion. He said that the small portion fills him up-but either I was super hungry that day or it was too small for me(only about 6-7 large shrimp and maybe 1.5 cups of grits?). The attention we received was a 10, personality of our server (who we learned has moved on to other career opps) was superb. The service from the waiter was great and doing what he could, he even got my wife diet dr.pepper from the store bc they did not have it on tap. the service and food from the kitchen was not. I don't think they know how to cook and what certain foods are. I ordered the the RED DOOR OUTRAGE. I was outraged when I received the meal at no fault of the waiter. The meat was supposed to be angus medallions and I received a thin piece of meat like a skirt steak on my sandwich. I told the waiter what the issue was and he took it back to have it fixed. When I received my meal the second time it looked like the first steak but chopped up (pictured). Another person in our party ordered a steak medium rare and when he cut into it was over well done. We came for brunch on a Saturday after visiting the Farmer's Market. It was pretty crowded but we did not have a problem being seated or with the service. I ordered a pickle Bloody Mary. If it less than $10.00 I would have order a lot more. It was AMAZING! They have a few options of flavor infused vodka for Bloody Mary's. It made a large difference in the flavor. For our meal we had the lobster & crab cake Benedict and the country breakfast. Both were very flavorful and filling. They have a jelly bar with different types of flavors. They are fresh jellies from local vendors as well. All of the food seemed to be local. I really like that about some restaurants. I got the pecan buttermilk pancakes with 2 over medium eggs and 2 pieces of bacon. The over medium eggs were great! The bacon was crispy and the pancakes with the honey butter was awesome, although very dry unless saturated in butter and syrup, and it was!! My friend got the French toast, and that was so delicious looking, I tried it and I was instantly jealous I didn't order that sugar and fat bomb. 3.5- Red Door is on the border line of becoming southern food. The restaurant was extremely busy as the town is small so this place is visited a lot. I love the aesthetic's of the restaurant, there were red door accents, and splashes of red all over which fits perfectly with the name. Our waiter Victoria was okay, I'm giving the benefit of the doubt because it was pretty busy so she was a little slow and all over place. I order the red door breakfast skillet which was really nice. It tasted very culinary with a hint of someone trying to step out the box. I wish that someone did step out and added a little more flavor! I love the presentation with the added croissant on top! I am not a fan of writing negative reviews but this needs to be said. I wish I had taken a photo but I forgot, apologies. I am English and am always on the lookout for decent fish 'n chips wherever I go. Very difficult in Arkansas. So I was delighted when an American friend of mine who lived in London for a year told me about this place and how great theirs was. Although she hadn't been back to the restaurant since before COVID. I ordered 2 meals to-go for us and went to pick them up. Firstly the price: I already thought $14.95 was a little expensive (it is just battered fish and fries after all) but I know restaurants are struggling now so l was fine with it. But after returning home and checking the receipt I was charged $17.80. They put on a tip! Now I obviously am not against tipping but you tip for a service not a to-go order right? I know this is a sticky point for some and again I thought, as we are still in a pandemic I would let it slide. Then I saw the food. There were 4 pieces of what I can only describe as nuggets of fried fish. Literally no more than 2 inches long pieces with the fries. $17.80 for 4 fish nuggets! My friend also apologized as she said that's not what she had previously so I can only assume they have a new chef or the lunch order is different to the main course maybe? Either way you cannot describe your food as "English Style, Batter-Fried Icelandic Cod and Fries" and give someone 4 fish nuggets. That is not what fish 'n chips are. Also to add insult to injury the fish was very tough and overcooked. I will say the fries were great though. My friend also sent me a message saying her food was "terrible" and offered to give me my money back as she had suggested them in the first place. Hopefully the owner/chef will read this and do some research on actual English food (or maybe contact the previous chef), or maybe just remove the description of "English Style" from their menu. TL;DR: If you are looking for English Style fish 'n chips look elsewhere. read more

It's been a while since I've been to the Red Door, maybe four years. The ambiance is the same as a remember; shabby chic. My visit was on what appeared to be a busy Sunday brunch. There was a small wait, no big deal. Our server was quick and attentive, I think his name was Aaron. I ordered a four egg Denver omelette with cheese grits and a croissant, my date had three eggs scrambled with cheese , fried potatoes and crispy bacon. The eggs for my omelette must have come from a pheasant because it definitely was not four eggs from a chicken, maybe three eggs. I was so disappointed with the cheese grits, my mouth was really really ready for something warm and savory; they were neither. Sorry to say "you can get better grits at the Waffle House". My date was no pleased with her pan fried potatoes as they were no crispy as she had requested. It was obvious that her "crispy bacon and potatoes" were not cooked to order rather scooped from a ready made batch. The bacon was curled and beef jerky like. Although our meals were underwhelming, I am a proponent of tipping my server well. I was a little surprised that the Red Door automatically added a 17% gratuity to our ticket. As the world is opening back up we have enjoyed revisiting our old haunts....and the Red Door has yet again risen to the top for brunch in Little Rock. The Old South Skillet can't be beat with biscuits and gravy combined with gruyere cheese....crazy good combo of old and new. Don't usually review but I will. Upon entering I'm greeted by a host and tell him 2 and request a booth. He says "we have one available but we'd have to clean it"...ok?????? Then goes to check and informs me that he doesn't have one available. I'm fine with that and he says "what about a high top"? I say no and that I'd prefer just a regular 2 person table which there was some clearly available in my eye line. He says "ok, follow me". He promptly leads us to a high top and I inform him that I'm not going to sit there and we are gonna sit at the 2 seater(1 of 2) right next to it. And we walk and sit. We order drinks and they don't have the scotch I order after 10 minutes of waiting. Then the appetizers come. My wife had oysters with Arkansas grits. She had me try one and I had to chew it for a whole minute before spitting it out. And the grits just tasted like sweet corn. My crab cakes were very average and more filling than actually "blue crab". We were done after the apps and I tipped well. We decided to get entrees at Faded Rose. They were great as always read more
