I walked in unsure of what I wanted to drink, he confidently asked some questions about my tastes, said "I got you" & returned with the perfect drink. We had a table of 6, it seemed everyone had questions and special requests. Will expertly (and patiently) navigated us through the process with honest assessments of menu items. Everything was cooked perfectly & everyone was very pleased with their meal. The ambiance, atmosphere, food, presentation & especially Will just made the evening an excellent experience & an especially happy birthday for our friend. Red door doesn't have a red front door; but there is a red door hanging from the ceiling inside the restaurant. Door business aside... here was my experience: 3 friends and I went for an early dinner on a Friday night, and we were immediately seated. We ordered the spinach dip and brushetta(sp?) for appetizers... both were AMAZING!! For dinner I had the vegetable plate, basically you choose four sides as a meal. I chose brown sugar glazed sweet potatoes, Tuscan white beans, sauteed vegetables, and mac-n-cheese. HOLY CRAP, best mac-n-cheese everrrrr! I want to go back here just for the mac and cheese and the sweet potatoes. I have already asked Jesus to have some of these sweet potatoes in my mansion in heaven. I loved my food. Loved it. All my friends also enjoyed their food. I knocked Red Door one star because the service was slow. We waited 2.5 hours at the bar to get two drinks and two small plates. Very disappointed in the lack of service. The food was merely mediocre- which made this all far worse. If the food was phenomenal then I would have understood. When we asked our waiter about where our food was he simply said "oh that's a whole other issue, I don't know." Went with a party of 4 for dinner. I don't remember exactly what we got because it was that forgettable. Someone had a pasta/casserole type dish? I got the country fried steak? Either way, we were all unimpressed. I remember we ordered appetizers and those took forever to come out, and our food too so much longer after that! The food quality/taste was definitely not worth the price in my opinion. If it was a bit cheaper I would be able to justify coming back. The restaurant listed that their closing time is at 2pm. My 4 yo daughter specifically wanted some pancakes. So we showed up there at 1:30pm. We got told by 2 people, "We close in 30 minutes" and were not in a hurry to get us seated. They actually discouraged us from staying. If you wanted to close at 1:30pm, don't say you close at 2pm. Ordered Sunday brunch for curbside pickup. Big mistake. Arrived to pick up order at scheduled time but was not ready. When I masked up and went in to check, the barista who handles curbside was overwhelmed; there was no safe waiting area and she refused to bring the order out to my car when it would be ready. After another 20 minutes finally got the order only to find when I got home that half of it was wrong. My pancakes were inedible and my husband got a french toast order( 3 pieces of heel end bread that immediately turned soggy when he added syrup). Bacon was fine. My feeling is that if you want to open for brunch, great! Just say no curbside pickup because you are obviously not equipped to handle it. read more

Went to Red Door for dinner tonight and it was phenomenal. Clint served us and working behind the bar and making drinks for the restaurant. My husband got a smoked old fashioned with some recommendations from Clint. It was the best old fashioned he's ever had - hands down. It's his favorite beverage of choice so that rating doesn't come lightly. I had a rasberry collins (again recommended) and watermelon margarita which were both so amazing. So light and fresh - not syrupy. Now that our drinks were so good, we knew we were better off asking Clint for some food recommendations. We had the lobster/crab cakes, fried shrimp with homemade mac&cheese and roasted sweet potatoes, and the in-house made meatballs. Everything was sooo amazing. Clint was so nice and easy to talk to. We had my father and husbands birthday dinner here and while the food was alright, the waitress was a nightmare. She said the kitchen was incompetent (which they weren't- they made and served us decent food and gave my little boy a free plate of fruit to eat while we waited) and she said the bartender was drunk on the job. most specialty cocktails weren't available due to lack of ingredients. but she snatched a receipt out of my hand and I had to stop her and explain I was reading it to my aunt who's hard of seeing. then when we left her a 10% tip (since she was rude) she chased my husband down and said "you know we live off tips right?" and began to try and embarrass him in front of his family. then when he left and I was getting my 1 year old- she started bad mouthing him under her breath in front of me and to his family, the kitchen, and the manager. Will absolutely not be back. I realize this is a restaurant/bar setting, but nothing about my meal was good, except the excellent cheese dip. First off, we walked in and realized at noon on Friday the place was nearly empty; that should've tipped us off right there. Don't have the name of our server, but we were treated to a four inch gap between her shirt front bottom hem and dirty looking pants. Add the belly ring, nose rings and tats, and the overall impression was slovenly. The other server was obviously pregnant, and we got to see all of her belly, too. I ordered the lobster cake eggs Benedict with asparagus and potatoes. The English muffins were burned and either stale or warmed up in the microwave because they were impossible to cut with a knife. There was one thin piece of asparagus which had been halved lengthways under each egg. I also had the soup which was lukewarm and came out at the same time as the entree. So that was a $44 lunch including the mandatory 17% gratuity. Plenty of other better places to eat. Mr. Abernathy, you need better management. read more

Tucked right in to the Riverdale neighborhood of Little Rock you'll find The Red Door. All I can say is brunch brunch brunch. I've tried several different plates here and have never been disappointed. From their pancakes and bacon, eggs benny, to their ole south breakfast skillet you're getting some of the best brunch in the area. I've had several different great servers but our favorite is Corey. He's funny and quick to get us everything we needed. He even fixed a wrong order that came out within a couple of minutes. Overall, the food is good, but when you order cheese dip as an appetizer and it comes with stale chips, you shouldn't have to wait to until after your meal is over to finally get fresh chips. Also, it is deceptive when someone orders a 7 and 7 from the bar, and when they ask why it tastes different, they are then told it is made with Sprite instead of 7 UP. Even worse when the waiter jokes that we thought we could fool you. If you don't have 7 Up, you need to tell people that when they are ordering their drinks so they can choose if they want a drink made with Sprite. read more

I've eaten brunch here twice. The first time I went, it was earlier in the day. Waiter was attentive, which was a plus. The food was good as well (Belgian Waffles w/ fruit & whip cream, skillet, and sausage patties). The second time, it was extremely packed. The wait was around 30 mins (which wasn't to bad). The hostess was really funny and nice. Our waitress was friendly but wish she was a little more attentive. Our food came fairly quick. I had the Belgian waffles (they were just as good as I remembered),side of eggs, and shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits were $13 and I thought the serving would have been a little larger for the price. Unfortunately, the grits weren't the best. The consistency was a little off (almost potato like) and the shrimp weren't seasoned (just dipped in BBQ sauce). I thought perhaps it was just my palate but my friend got the grits as well and didn't care for them either. While I wished that the waitress would have been more attentive (perhaps she had too many tables) and the grits weren't my fave, I plan on trying them again in the near future.....but next time I won't be ordering the shrimp and grits. read more

I knew before I sat down it was not going to be a good experience... the place is run down, dark, and uninviting. Their soda fountain was also out. The menu has fifty different things to choose from and there is no way you can make fifty different things and have them all taste like a $20 meal should taste. The prices are exorbitant considering the food tastes like bar food and the portions are not big. My husband got a Cuban and it was not a Cuban... no pickle spear or ham on the sandwich. No sliced pork meat. There is no kids meal so it is not a kid friendly restaurant. I ordered a side of Mac and Cheese for my kids and while it was decent the portion came with less than 10 macaroni noodles for $5. That is insane to me considering we are in LR Arkansas not California or New York City or some other major city where everything is over the top expensive. It took almost an hour to get our food and when we sat down there was only one other party seated at that point. Needless to say I am marking this place off of my list of restaurants to try out. read more

I don't often swear off restaurants before the end of a meal (it's not over until it's over), but at this place I did. Three distinguishing features... Customer service: I was first put off by the unwelcoming actions of the bartender as she showed every appearance of being rushed, apathetic and disinterested in serving us. The waiter was good at taking care of our table and was attentive and proactive to our needs. Quality of product: The food left a lot to be desired. The breakfast was dry and disappointing, which I was surprised by because I'm of the opinion that it's pretty difficult to mess up breakfast. The drinks we ordered were $13 each. After the first sip, I realized that the value had quickly gone from being "overpriced" to "flat out scam". The part of the meal that I enjoyed the most was the fruit garnish. Vibes: This place has all the potential to be a cool place to eat and yet came up short. The decor is cool and you have the choice of patio seating, which can always be pleasant. But other than that, it left us regretting that we spent our time and money there. So I've only been here for brunch a couple of times and the food is good. My only real problem with it is that it's always crowded and because of that it's always slow getting your food. In some cases this isn't the worst thing but I don't think the food is quite good enough to be worth the wait. The most recent time we went there were 7 or 8 of us. The waiter was amazing. He was funny and very attentive, but there were several times I had to wait to get a coffee refill because they were brewing more and then half way threw our table we has to wait again as they brewed more. So if you have the time to wait around do it. The food is good but I haven't had anything that was the best I've ever had. read more

WOW! We were recommended to this place by a friend from around the area. We were just passing through and this was one of the best places we ate on our two-week​ trip. We arrived at 5:45 and we out an back on the road only an hour later so incredibly​ happy ​and full. We visited on Saturday, July 7, 2018. They have a great wine selection and I had a glass of Smith & Hook and my fiance had a local beer. We ordered the Lobster & Crab stuffed mushrooms and they were delicious, and then we ordered a special appetizer​ of Japanese​ peppers which were again delicious​. \ Our meal was the real reason I have to write this review. We got the Pork Osso Bucco which WAS AMAZING, fell right off the bone. We got the sides of sweet potato wedges in a brown sugar sauce, they were my favorite part of the entire meal, and then sauteed vegetables​. We were so impressed and happy, and highly recommend this place, especially if you are just passing by. P.S. - Parking lot was GREAT because we were towing a jetski behind, and had enough room to park. read more
