A hidden gem, located in Oakley with one of the best chefs in Cincinnati. The bar is located on your left as you walk in with the dining area separated to the right. Perfect to have a hand-crafted cocktail while waiting for other guests or prior to dinner. Strong emphasis on local, fresh ingredients all made from scratch without a pretentious approach. Recommend the chef's table for the full experience and trying one selection from each area of the menu. This is one of our go-to restaurants for a nice, intimate night out. The whipped ricotta is one of my favorite appetizers ever. When the burger is cooked right, it's delicious; If overcooked, it's disappointing. Get the regular fries rather than the truffle fries with the burger. The truffle Mac and cheese is always a good choice for a side dish (it's not usually listed on the menu). Recommend making reservations for a weekend night. read more

Went last night, were less than impressed. We had the honey goat cheese appetizer, which was ruined by the need to add truffle to it. Completely threw off the flavor, which could have been really great. Mozzarella appetizer is just a rubbery blob of cheese that is difficult to cut much less eat. Chicken entree was tender and flavorful, however the green beans that accompanied were very undercooked. Ricotta fritters had no flavor and consistency of cottage cheese inside, very disappointing. Service was quick but server interrupted us every 4 minutes. We came to enjoy a dinner and conversation as a couple, not to talk with our server all night. read more

Go here for brunch on Sunday. The food, the atmosphere and bloody mary bar are three reasons why this place just rocks. The menu allows you to try a wide range of food and the portion sizes are very decent. I love going to a place in which the server are well knowledgeable and just so down to earth. I gave this 1 star because the food was delicious and hot, however.....My husband set up my 30th birthday party dinner there for 14 people. He signed a contract stating that the group will pay about $55/head and it was a pre set menu by the restaurant with some extra language about there will be a appetizer for the table that needs to be decided for the group, which is fine. Our reservation was at 7:30 pm. Our group arrived about 10-15 minutes before 7:30, we were not seating until after 8 pm. We had our pre set menu on the table. The waiter took our drink orders then just stood there. We asked if he was going to walk us through the evening or where do we order the appetizers for the group, he said he had no idea what we were talking about. We had to pull the email out for him to see what we were talking about. He said ok we can order them separate, which is not what it stated but whatever it will be a la carte. There was also language on the original booking email that stated for an extra $10 we could get charcuterie the waiter seemed confused about that anyways but put an order in for the table. We got the salad course first, had to remind the waiter about the appetizers that we ordered he said he never heard us order them? Brought them out and they were amazing. Then the waiter disappeared for like 25 minutes he comes back to clear our table and we have to ask him to take our order as each person has to order what meal they want. Once we place our orders it takes another hour or so to receive the meal, by the time the food game it was 10:20. My husband went and asked the waiter twice about when the dinner would be, and was blown off both times. He finally asked to speak to the management and expressed his dissatisfaction with the whole event. The manager said he would take care of it. When the bill came nothing was taken care of. As a group we spent over $2400.00 at that restaurant that gave us awful service. My husband requested to speak to the manager again who was reluctant to give anyone a deal, saying that he should of handled the table differently, but gave no solution. By this time they have already charged the rest of the group their bill and comped my meal. By the time we left the restaurant it was 11pm and everyone was very dissatisfied. We just did a pre set dinner like this at Sotto for the same amount of people and it was a well oiled machine. We were never waiting over 30 minutes for anything and the waiter was very informative. I will always go to Sotto for events and I will make sure I never go back to Red Feather. read more

This has become a favorite of mine. Fantastic wine list. Knowledgeable and friendly servers. Every course was perfect. I had the pork chop which was HUGE and delicious, especially for the price. My boyfriend had the veal and his blue cheese broccoli potatoes side was phenomenal! The chocolate hazelnut cake was so rich and decadent. I'm in town on business and I stopped in here on my way from the airport to a hotel for what I knew would be a delicious meal based on the Yelp reviews and photos. I sat at the lovely L shaped bar and ordered the crispy skin salmon. It came out quickly - as to be expected with medium cooked salmon - and was very nicely done. Maybe a tad on the salty side, but cooked perfectly with a crisp skin and tender center. The bartender was super friendly but kept out of my way as I sorted out some work emails on my phone. The ambiance is very cozy, with nice lighting and brick walls. I'd love to go back and have a proper meal with a cocktail, starter, and dessert (all of which looked enticing on the menus). read more

One of our favorite restaurants for both dinner and brunch. Amazing quality control on everything. Have never been disappointed in a dish. It is extremely difficult not to order the short ribs for dinner but I also love tong the specials. Exactly the same with quiche for brunch; I've had other delicious items and am not disappointed but the quiche is to die for: "Mile High Quiche" and feather light. Sooo good! What an awesome addition to Oakley Square! I came here later in the evening with a group of people. The host was cheerful, opening the door and welcoming us in. We chose to sit at the bar and just order drinks. I am not known for my beverage knowledge outside of a vodka diet, so I asked the bartender for help. I mentioned a wine visiting friends had shared and he pulled a bottle right out. It was amazing! He even took time to explain what the wines on tap were. That's right-Wine-On-Tap! I didn't know such an incredible thing existed, but I'm glad it does. Oh the possibilities! Once our barmates' food came we also decided to order. The smell was intoxicating. We chose the pork belly sliders and the mozzarella with toasted bread. A really nice touch was the bartender setting up a place setting for us at the bar before the food came. The food came out quickly and was fantastic. The pork sliders were on a puffy sweet bun with a pickle, sauce and what looked like pickeled onion. It was amazing and helped me forget the polar vortex raging outside. The mozzarella (made right there, in that very restaurant, like you just walked to the town square in Italy) came out topped with Olive tapenade and drizzled with Olive oil. There were toasted slices of homemade bread that accompanied the fresh mozzarella right to my mouth, where it belonged. The food was incredible. For a smaller restaurant I was impressed at the selection on their menu. I will absolutely be returning and can't wait to bring visiting friends. Excellent first impression and experience! read more

My husband and I have always had great experiences here. We went there tonight for our anniversary and it was even better than we were expecting! I've been going back and forth on this review and I'd say the food is a solid 4 stars but the overall experience was just ok. I came here on a Saturday night with my parents and it was pretty tough to get a reservation. We originally were supposed to sit at the chef's table but my mom isn't one for high tops. We grabbed a drink at the bar while waiting and I was delighted to be reminded of the good old Midwest's prices--$9 cocktails, heck yes! I got the violet meets violette which is essentially a kir royal but with lavender instead of creme de cassis. I liked it! When we were seated we started off with appetizers. I should mention now that this dinner took about 2 hours--unless I'm enjoying a tasting menu or a birthday party, I don't want to be at the dinner table for two hours. We had the cheese and charcuterie board (two separate appetizers). The cheeses were good but nothing too exciting, however, really liked the charcuterie. It's not your typical proscuitto, sopressata board, it had duck proscuitto, chicken liver pate, and beet cured salmon. It was fun to sample and all of it was really yummy! We also ordered the oysters and the shishito peppers. I didn't see this anywhere on the menu but the oysters are priced for 3. Our server recommended we order a dozen so we went with his recommendation. I think we fell victim to the up-sell because it was really too many (and also $36!). They were good in an Italian vinaigrette (I believe my dad joked it was Wishbone) but could have gone for half dozen. The shishito peppers were simple-roasted. It was probably after an hour into dinner that our server took our entree orders. This means we sat with menus at our table this entire time. I had been checking out Red Feather's menu prior to arriving and was excited about roasted chicken with cauliflower and brussel sprouts. I was a little disappointed to find it missing from the menu when I was seated, but the server was very helpful and said the chef could still make it from me, but recommended I do ramps instead of the brussel sprouts. Really appreciated this! The dish came with a leg and a breast and I thought it was cooked perfectly. I usually think a dish could use more veggies and this was no exception, still tasty though. My dad ordered the short ribs which he really enjoyed and my mom ordered the fava bean agnolotti. It was pretty interesting with some acidic (maybe citrus) flavors so I'd say order this if you are in the mood for a unique pasta (not classic Italian sauces/flavors). During dinner we ordered two bottles of wine and went with the sommelier's recommendation each time. I was honestly surprised he never stopped by to review the wines with us--it was all 'man behind the curtain'. Coincidentally or not, his recommendations were expensive (up-selling again?) so if you are cost conscious pick your own bottle or request he go through the wine list with you! read more

Wow! What an experience! True to their farm to table and scratch kitchen credo, Red Feather served up fresh, flavorful and unique dishes, course after course. My husband gobbled up every bite of the fried green tomatoes. They sold out while we were there, so make sure to get there early. I enjoyed the mozzarella with fresh pesto. The menu said I was supposed to share it. Sorry. I'm not good at sharing. Mm mmm! The pork chop entrée is clearly a favorite. The cut is flavorful, and cooked perfectly. As delish as it was, don't overlook the potatoes and red wine reduction. Since I greedily enjoyed the mozzarella, good thing I ordered something smaller, the lamb chops. They were also prepared perfectly. We ordered Bob Foley's Griffin. Paired perfectly with my lamb! Bursting with dark fruit favors. Our server, Dave, suggested the Lemon Semifreddo for dessert. How unfortunate this incredible creation shares the name of the loser brother from the Godfather. Frozen lemon custard topped with a carmelized meringue, atop a lavender cookie with a basil drizzle. Not a good dining experience. If we could give a zero we would. Out of the majority of the wine we tried to order. 40 minutes after getting seated to get a drink delivered. Was told by the waitress the manager was too busy to come and speak with us. He did eventually make his way to us but nothing improved. Ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, waited for one hour and 50 minutes for it to be served. When we got it, it was cold and had to be sent back. I've visited for Brunch twice. Both times left me disappointed. Service is what I would expect at any high caliber restaurant and for that they deserve all the stars. I will keep this short and sweet. We ate there last Tuesday, party of five. The food and service was excellent. Kudos to Alex for aptly describing all the specials and answering any questions. A shout out to Keith for an excellent support act! We had a great time and everything tasted spot on. The cocktails were terrific and Alex made a fine wine recommendation (Chateau Ducasse Bordeaux Blanc) to accompany my entree (sea scallops). For dessert, we shared a decadent pecan pie with dark chocolate gelato. Everyone left full and very satisfied. One note of caution - this is not a $$ restaurant, and it should not be for the quality of service and food that is served. Be prepared to shell out $$$ minimum, but very much worth it. read more

Delicious food and good service. It might be a tad less polished than some of its downtown competition, but it's easily the best food in the Hyde Park/Oakley area. We enjoyed a leisurely 3 hour dinner and were talked into the cheese plate for dessert despite being filled to the brim. It was a great choice and a nice relaxing way to end the meal with 3 types of cheese, fruit options and marcona almonds. I come with a mixed review. The goat cheese app and beet salad app were both small for the $11 and $7 respective prices. I would not recommend sharing. My pork chop entree, however, was one of the best prepared cuts I've tasted in a while. The presentation was simple but the chop portion was abundant. My partner's quail special, tasted amazing over spicy couscous and yogurt. His portion, 1 quail, was less than adequate in my opinion. The bread pudding dessert...amazing! Amazing brunch spot! Your best bet is to make a reservation here because there is usually a line outside before they open. There is open seating at the bar as well. Very cute place wth great service. This is a place that I go to with friends but it's nice enough to take your grandma, if that makes sense. White linens, water glasses, table settings, that kind of thing. Things I love- -The biscuits!! I know, biscuits don't seem like a big deal but they are easily the best biscuits I have ever had. Flakey, buttery, crispy goodness. They come with 3 house made jams that are always different, usually seasonal. They are pretty big so I would say you could split one between two people, but you aren't going to want to share. -Quiche of the day will never disappoint! -Croque Monsieur is amazing but very rich. I would definitely say split it. Also, get the egg!! A couple things I'm not too big on- -Biscuits and gravy. It's called red eye gravy because it has coffee grounds in it but whatever, it wasn't special and it was very thin so the once amazing biscuits just soaked everything up, leaving you soggy biscuits and chunks of sausage. -Bloody mary bar- I love bloody Mary's but their mix just seemed like tomato juice and the mixers were weren't impressive. 5 stars because despite the two things above, this place is an excellent brunch option! read more

We went to Red Feather for Sunday brunch, and got there at 11am. We had a reservation, and were seated right away. The service was great, and in no time we ordered the Salmon, Eggs Benedict, and the Pancakes. All three of us were over the moon about our food. The Eggs benedict (what I got) was cooked perfectly - the eggs were perfectly runny. If you don't like your poached eggs that soft, you can order them harder.
