I'm so glad the place we originally had in mind was closed for the day, because it brought us to this place instead. It was a busy autumn night, as there were busses of tourists in the parking lot. However, we only waited about 15 minutes then were seated. While we were waiting, we checked out their store and got a toy and book for the little one to distract herself. I was afraid service would be slow as a lot of people has just walked in from a large bus, however, I was wrong! I'm not even sure where those people ended, probably a separate room. Not sure how they do it, but besides how busy the place was, they managed to make it feel intimate. Husband got their special New York steak and I went for their pot roast. For appetizer, we got the mussels and started with some beers. The mussels were delicious! Then our entrees arrived and it was love at first sight, then love at first bite. As soon as my husband was ready to cut into his steak, the manager arrived and asked him if the steak was cooked at his liking (medium). Husband was shocked as we've never got this question asked in the past, and knowing how he's very peculiar about his steaks and how they're cooked, I knew he couldn't wait to give some feedback to the manager. Husband cut into his very tender steak and there was a beautiful pink interior. Both manager and my husband looked at each other and just said, they're you go, perfect! Not my pot roast was just as delicious. The veggies were not mushy at all, and the pearl onions offered a nice crunch. This dish was so comforting and just what I needed on this cold night. We really enjoyed ourselves at this place. The food, the drinks, the ambiance, the service, all amazing. Top notch! This place is deserving of a Michelin star! At the bed of our meal, as we were leaving, my husband went to the hostess and asked for the manager. Both managers were on-site and he thanked them for the great meal we had just had. Went in around 4:30pm fairly empty was seated right away. Sounds good right...After waiting 15 minutes without services we began to notice the staff began seating 2 larger tables and immediately attending to them. They glanced at our table twice and still did not come to ask us for drinks. 25-30 mins into waiting we began to look for other places. Still no service at this point. As we stood up the staff did notice and made eye contact but did no inquire if anything was wrong. Most likely because they did not care. The manager who witnessed us walk in was at the front desk and did not say anything as we walked out 30 mins later. They seem to prioritize what table is going to make them more money so if you want fair service and to eat within a decent time do not come here. read more

My parents have lived in the area for a bit over 20 years; I visit at least once or twice annually. Sadly, in all the years I had never visited this place! Every dish I tried was cooked perfectly. Mussel appetizer has exquisite flavor, but also the size of mussels are commendable. This could possibly be an entree for some... I got the pot roast on my first visit. The meat practically falls apart, the veggies were delish, and the sauce couldn't have been better. Got a special the next visit which I think was steak tips in a sweet bourbon? Again, cooked to perfection, and the glaze while a little too sweet for my gf I thought was flawless. Another guest got the salmon. I only had a small piece, but found it to be great. I'd argue the prices are a tad bit high (about 30$ for most entrees), however many good restaurants in the last year or two have doubled their prices. We came here during our hiking trip. At first they wanted to seat us in an empty room, no they guests and super bright, compared to the rest of the restaurant. They sat us in another area, where at least some other guests were. The waitress was friendly, and the service was prompt. Loved it. Great American grill restaurant nestled in a beautiful small town of NH, right across the street from the historic bridge. Delicious food, good service, and awesome ambience. Their Red Fox Combo is must try. We loved their Tomato pesto pizza too. The pictures are attached. The best part is they hold your spot over the phone if you call them before you head to their restaurant when there is a wait. The restaurant can easily become busy since it is right on the way to White Mountains from North Conway. We went there on the long weekend of July 4th and we expected that there would be a wait and we did not have advance reservation. I called them up. They were having 25 mins of wait and booked my spot over the phone. It worked perfectly for us since I was with two kids. read more

This is one of the few places to get a good dinner in the area outside of downtown North Conway. The building and landscape is beautiful with so many flowers in the garden. Beer list was solid. Bread was so-so. I got the pecan pear salad which was very tasty with curried pecans, goat cheese, and cranberries with chicken added, which was plenty for dinner.
