I have stayed up in the N. Conway/Conway area three times related to business/pleasure (driving 140 miles each way to stay relatively locally, even though my destination might be Gorham) and each time I have gone out of my way to drive to the Red Fox Bar and Grill for dinner - usually arriving very early at about 4:30pm since I've been on the road and doing an activity. Have ordered the same thing every time - the filet mignon, a glass of wine, decaf coffee with dessert (have tried 3 different ones so far). I have really enjoyed the meals and all 3 different servers have been very good, accommodating and had suggestions when asked. Also, should you have any problems or issues, they are readily addressed and taken care of. So I have enjoyed my visits there. I have contemplated trying the two pieces of tenderloin with lobster, but since I haven't had it before and I know the filet mignon, I've hesitated. read more

Aside from drunk golfers singing obnoxiously in the bathroom before being interrupted by a panicked father rushing his vomiting toddler to the trash can this place was excellent! Our server was wonderful, food was very good except for the spinach dip which was PHENOMENAL, and very decent pricing! Atmosphere was much more 'colonial tavern' than expected but an exciting surprise, made me think there should have been individual candles at each table for a cozier vibe though. read more

9 years later and we were up in the area and had to stop here again! The food was just as good as we remembered. The service was good but not great - we came during fairly off hours and the place is huge so we kind of expected this. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable but just didn't seem to have any other tables near us. My steak tips were cooked perfect and very tender. My husband said his ribs and tips combo was really good. The kids both had grilled chicken and really liked both their regular fries and sweet potato ones. The potato skins are the show stopper though - do not skip these! They are mouthwateringly good! read more

We ate dinner here last night. The service was amazing - with the waitress having lots of suggestions and options both for my vegetarian daughter as well as my daughter who had allergies. We ordered the combo dish (steak tips and grilled shrimp), the grilled steak tips and mashed potatoes with a nice Pinot Noir red wine, the stir fry with jasmine rice, and a beyond cheese burger. Everything was cooked to perfection and very delicious. We all loved our dishes, and probably overate because it was all so good. This was our third time on vacation visiting the Red Fox. Can't say enough about the restaurant and service .The food is delicious and service was expedient. Had the mussels on the grille which were extraordinary had a ice cold beer on a hot day everything was perfect. Going back tomorrow for my birthday dinner .The place is always full now I know why. LOVE!!!! The food is fresh and delicious. They are happy to accommodate special requests. I get the stir fry often, and they don't flinch with a request to use 1/2 of the sauce they usually use (or put it on the side). The table bread is excellent! read more

I don't give out 5 stars very often but the food at Red Fox was well deserved! It's a large restaurant with multiple sections for seating. I love that they have a bar area for only 21 & over (sadly we were with our kids, can only look through the glass with envy, ). Us family of 4 were promptly seated at a booth. They had a paper children's menu for them to draw and color. We were greeted warmly by our server with a loaf of warm bread and whipped butter (so yummy). They had a nice list of mixed drinks ($10-13 - reasonably priced) and beer selection. I had the mango mai tai, it was strong and delicious and hubby had their draft beers (good local selection). Our food was so good!! The steamed mussels were big and flavorful, the homemade penne was probably the best I've ever had, homemade pasta!!! Food is excellent. My favorite dish is the prime rib which is served on Saturday's. For sides, you have to go with the Gouda mashed and the carrot and turnip mashed!! Side salads are rather bland but are still OK. Lots of drinks to choose from, but was underwhelmed at the martinis and the mixed drinks on the menu. If they could step their drink game up a notch or two, this place would definitely be 5-star worthy. Service is always great. Waiters and waitresses pay great attention to detail. I would recommend this place to any and everyone. This place is allergy recommended. I have a severe shellfish allergy and the waitress and the kitchen were very accommodating. They do cook some shellfish in the wood oven which they warned me about, but had no trouble avoiding cross contamination. We will be back! read more

We had a great dinner here on the 30th! Our server, Willem, was perfect. Even though our reservation was very early (4:45) the place was packed and we feared our meal would take forever. Willem was prompt to take our drink order and brought us bread and got everything we needed with a smile. Very close to our hotel in Jackson, we were impressed by the huge and full parking lot. The ambience was warm and friendly, and so was the service. The best part was our introduction to a New England special, baked haddock, which was amazing. The fish was so naturally tasty and fresh, and the portion was enough for the two of us. My husband and I came here for dinner during our recent trip to the White Mountains. The restaurant is big and the parking lot was packed, but luckily we only waited about 15 minutes to be seated. For a starter, we ordered the Potato Skins - we questioned the teriyaki sauce, but was pleasantly surprised with how much it enhanced everything. We were driving by and came across this cute restaurant. The outside is very welcoming, but the inside is a bit dark and dreary. We were welcomed and seated quickly, that's always nice. They had two specials for the night, one being pesto Parmesan crusted salmon with 2 sides, which is what I ordered. I ordered a garden side salad, $7 extra as a side, and the mashed potatoes. The salad was gold, nothing oit of the ordinary to cost it $7extra dollars and I really couldn't figure out if the potatoes were instant or not. The texture was a bit rubbery. With that, we ordered the artichoke dip it came out nice and hot, and it was very delicious with the chips. Lastly, cheesecake who doesn't love cheesecake. Needless to say, It was awful. Definitely not made in-house and the strawberry topping were frozen strawberries. read more

The food was a five out of five. The chef needs to be complimented on both the Duck and Steak. The beets and mash potato sides were exceptional. Three out of five.
