Mother's Day brunch was one of the worst brunches I've attended . Food was cold and limited to cheap products . I've heard that they are good at other times but I haven't been, other than the brunch. We have been going here every other week for a couple of years. Food was always great. Service was always great. Went the other night and ordered the BBQ Combo. For $31 I received (3) wings and (2) spareribs, a side of baked beans and a side of mashed potato. I thought the kitchen had to have made a mistake for sure, serving such a ridiculous portion. Our visit to The Red Fox Bar and Grill was an enjoyable experience. The building and outdoor landscaping are very lovely. It represented exactly what I imagined in a New Hampshire mountain town. Thankfully I found the location and town of Glen to be quaint and not overrun by commercial brands. Inside the restaurant, I immediately sensed a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. The staff was experienced and genuine in providing good customer service. The restaurant decor was nice, but felt a little dated. Air Supply was playing over the sound system so my suspicions that it was a restaurant stuck in 1980-something were confirmed. The menu offered a nice variety of northern-style comfort foods. A few examples were the New England Pot Roast, BBQ Meatloaf, and Steak Tips. I was very happy to find the Shofferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen offered in a bottle. This is one of my favorites beers, but I rarely find it. For my dinner, I ordered the New England Pot Roast and a side Caesar salad. The salad was on point. Lots of cheese, croutons, and Iight on the dressing; just the way I like it. The pot roast was wonderful. The meat was tender and easily fell apart with just a few pokes with my fork. The roast is served on top of mashed potatoes and root vegetables on the side. It is a generous portion that I couldn't finish. read more

We came here on 5 oct 2024 after a night at Sleep Manchester airport and visiting Whitney house and Ripley falls. There was about 10 minutes wait so we should have joined the waitlist directly on Yelp as the app is being used to track wait list anyway. And there is a free dessert when I checked in on Yelp so we chose the apple crisp. We ordered a medium ribeye and a French onion soup and the baked haddock. The onion is cut into large pieces and cooked just right and they are still chewable. The steak is excellent and the grilled broccoli is delicious. The haddock is tasty and the jasmine rice an amazing. The apple crisp is home cooked standard and taste great! read more

We went for an early dinner on a recent Friday night. My husband ordered the smash burger with sweet potato fries. We split the calamari. I ordered sesame salmon with a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. The calamari was delicious, we've had it up and down the east coast and this is at the top of the list! The burger and fries were great. My only complaint was that the Brussels sprouts were absolutely drenched in maple syrup. We definitely would return. This is a lovely restaurant with great food, service and prices. We had mussels and a pizza and both were superb. It's in a good location with plenty of parking and the interior is quite inviting and comfortable. The crowds are big and the wait time even early in the evening can be long if you don't plan in advance and get one of the limited number of reservations they offer. Wow, what a find! Every once in a while you find a restaurant that hits everything you are looking for in a restaurant right on the head. On our last trip to No Conway, we were at the Nestlenook Inn to get a sleigh ride. As we were leaving it was about 4:30 or 5:00. I looked on their menu and they looked like they had a pretty great menu. I knew it would be hard to get a reservation at the last minute but thought I would go in and check anyway. I told them maybe 6:30. We had about 12 people and they said they could accommodate us no problem. We went back at 6:30 and the parking lot was full. We went in and only had to wait 5 or 10 minutes and then were seated and a huge table to the back of the room, which was great because we had a couple 4 year olds. Our waitress came over immediately and started to take our drink orders. I opted for some fruity drink that was super delicious! My daughter and I got Caesar salads which were delicious. Others at the table got mussels which they said were also delicious. I chose the Lemon Butter Baked Haddock. Made in the wood oven, Meyer lemon and butter cracker topping, mashed carrot and turnips (which I didn't think I would like, but ended up being "over the top" delicious)! I opted for baked potato instead of the rice. Delicious! Fresh and delicious! Others in the party got the Chicken Stir Fry which looked soo good. Chicken, onion, bell pepper, broccoli, snap peas, pineapple, teriyaki glaze and Jasmine rice. So delicious. I got an order of it to go! Everyone was 100% please with the Red Fox. We go to this restaurant every time we are in the New Hampshire area. It's a very cozy place to eat, with plenty of room. The wait staff are always very pleasant and prompt with service and the food is always amazing. If you like pizza they have an amazing maple sausage pizza. Want just an appetizer, get the French onion soup. The meatloaf is really good as well. You can't go wrong with whatever you get as I have never had a bad meal here. We ordered one of the pizzas and it came out nearly immediately and was delicious despite the speed of its arrival to our table. Our server was lovely and was very nice to our toddler. Love The Fox, been going there for many years. Food has always been good. We haven't been out to eat for a while. With that said we were disappointed to see the portions are quite smaller and the prices are higher. Cup of chowder is now basically half the size it used to be. Teriyaki is now just vegetables and rice, if you want to add protein that's an additional charge. Plating is now on a rectangle plate, less surface area but made to look like a good size portion. While I understand it has been challenging in the valley for businesses, it feels like The Fox is going the way of everyone else, out pricing the locals to cater to the visitors. read more

Red Fox Bar & Grille had great reviews and seemed to be the perfect place to stop by given its location between Mt. Washington and our hotel in North Conway. We had no idea this area was poppin' to such a degree that you require a reservation in the middle of the week to eat at one of their better restaurants. We did not have a reservation but fortunately the wait for a table of two at around 8pm on a Wednesday was only about 10 minutes. A reservation is definitely recommended if you intend to eat here without waiting. I would also like to add that their fall decorations outside are absolutely ADORABLE. The service was very good. We never had to wait long for anything and our entrees came before we were even finished with the appetizers. Our waitress was knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. Their menu is filled with a wide variety of options to suit almost any taste, except the excessively health conscious. After much deliberation, we settled on the nachos and french onion soup to start, I ordered the butternut ravioli primavera, and GF ordered their black bean smash burger. Fortunately, because we work nights and stay up late even while on vacation, we knew we would be hungry later and ordered the buffalo cauliflower, fig jam & pear grilled cheese, grilled asparagus, creamed spinach, and a frozen chocolate mousse terrine for dessert. Upon reflection we ordered a really obscene amount of food and there really is no excuse. The nachos are in more of an LA rather than an NYC configuration which, if I may translate, means the chips were very spread out instead of piled high which results in a greater topping: chip ratio. The chips were of the standard, store-bought variety. The cheese quantity was generous with some scattered olives, jalapenos, and scallions. Salsa and guac were provided on the side. This was good as far as chips covered in cheese usually is but it was nothing special and definitely not some of the better nachos I've had. This can be skipped. The buffalo cauliflower, on the other hand and despite the fact that we ate this heated up, was delicious. That buffalo sauce packs a PUNCH and pairs excellently with a smooth and cool ranch. The cauliflower were crisp. I would definitely order this again. I hate onions but I tried some of GF's french onion soup. This was flavored deliciously and absolutely perfect after a day of freezing our asses off on top of Mount Washington or doing anything else in the soon to be chilly autumn/winter weather. There was nothing special about GF's black bean burger. It wasn't bad, it wasn't spectacular. The side of sweet potato fries were a bit soggy. My butternut ravioli was in an incredibly creamy and decadent sauce intermixed with some spinach and roasted red pepper. Unfortunately, the first bite I took included bacon. I searched the menu and bacon is not listed in the description. I believe this was accidental, but a big bummer for me as a vegetarian. The fig jam and pear grilled cheese was delicious. Those flavor pairings are really giving me a white girl fall erection. The creamed spinach was orgasmic and some of the best creamed spinach I've ever had. Alternatively, the asparagus was literally disgusting and completely inedible. It was hard, way harder than asparagus should be, and was difficult to chew. It also tasted similarly to how I imagine licking the inside of a grill would taste, without any other flavors whatsoever. Couldn't eat this and threw it away. The frozen chocolate mousse terrine was very sweet with smooth, chocolate mousse. The sugar was a touch over-stated but not a bad dessert however I would have appreciated some accompaniments like ice cream or whipped cream. I did get the impression that this place tends to rely heavily on fat (cheese, cream, etc) to make things taste good rather than working with other flavors. From what I've experienced, this place seems to be one of the better places in the area. read more
