MY GO-TO! I'm a little surprised I've never reviewed this place before because I've been going here pretty loyally for the last five years. I always get a great manicure (or pedicure) and it always lasts. I've gone other places with friends and never had a better manicure (elsewhere, often a bad mani that ruins my nails) or a better experience. Here's why I like this place in addition to the great manicures that last: It's cozy. Not like a freaking production warehouse. It's quiet in a good way. I can always get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time, even same day, depending on the day. Their prices are competitive. Importantly, The ladies (nail techs) are super friendly, steady (same peoplw for years) and they all speak English well so you don't feel awkward. They are local community members and just really good people. I genuinely like them. If you're looking for your go to Nail place in the area, this is it. The only thing that I would say negatively is just that their pedicure chairs are not the best/all in working order. So if you're looking for a really Spa-like pedicure experience, this isn't the place. (But usually I don't care about that.) She insisted on prying it off with clippers and a nail, once it started bleeding she tried blaming me for it and then insisted I put all those chemicals over my open nail bed. I have been to alot of different salons. Seems like the past 5 different salons have either been dirty, not transparent about price, don't do a great job on my nails. I finally feel satisfied with Red Gloss. I have been there twice now and they have done a very nice job on my nails. They told me the price for a manicure on the phone and then charged me with that price once I had my nails done. Also they don't try to oversell. If I only want a manicure, they are fine and don't push for a pedicure to go with it. The place is clean and I was very happy with my nails! I will continue with them. read more

Posting two places because this is art! I've been going to Red Gloss for a few months now after a not so pleasant experience at a Rochester nail salon. The thing that turned me to Red Gloss was how I felt after services. You know how some salons get so booked you feel like you're just another number (normally one with a $ in front and the more $, the better treatment)? Well, that's how I ended up here. I decided that I wanted to feel good because, let's face it, manicures and pedicures really are still luxury services. I wanted to feel happy that I came out a bit prettier than I came in and that I got to sit in a great artist's chair. Finally found this in Jessica! I'm pretty simple, I like a nice shape, pretty colors, but with Jessica I've even had a few designs. She's SO talented and careful with her work that I felt guilty by not asking for something more than a basic dip manicure. I'm usually pretty quiet, so Jessica works quickly and her passion for nails is so clear. She's super witty too, so when I finally have something to say, she's always fun to talk to. I love sitting across from her! I haven't had anyone else in the shop on my nails for full service, but everyone is so sweet. It's a calm environment, really pretty decor. I can also sense the team really seems to like each other which means everything-- generally happy employees mean good work and good work helps feed a good environment. Plus they help each other and that just feels right. Bet you didn't expect all of this huh? Yeah, pampering can get a little spiritual for me. Really disappointed with my experience. I have been coming here for the last 5 years. I have never felt like my time here was ever rushed which is why I always came out of my way to continue coming here. My feet from beginning to end took no more than 15 minutes. No cuticles we're pushed back or cut. I hadn't had a pedicure in 2 months so I know there was much to do. I had an appointment so my time should have been blocked. Nothing is more infuriating and frustrating to see the patron next to me getting the full proper attention and You are just being pushed along and rushed. I always feel uncomfortable speaking up, as most do. But this is a luxury and an expensive one at that. I can say, I unfortunately will not be coming back. read more

Every year my family and I get our nails done after thanksgiving. I called to make an appointment for 8 people, and told the owner 3 of us have gift cards. She told me "that's fine". After our pedicures were done she told us she can't use the gift cards because she is the new owner and she will lose money. She would not fully honor them despite us having the original receipt for when the gift cards were purchased. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing and I will not be returning. She is incredibly rude and left me sitting there in the middle of doing my nails while she went to talk to her coworker. from the moment i stepped in the salon i felt like a burden. i arrived early and sat for a few minutes then someone called me over to remove the polish from my nails. i was left there for five minutes until someone came and put a hot towel on my hands, then i was left for another five until someone changed my towels. a few minutes after i was told to pick out a color. i let her know about a possible design i wanted to do and she was doing her best to get out of it. i had one nail shorter and asked for a tip to which she said 'i don't know if we have time for that' one tip! like i was there early and they let me sit until a good 15 after my appointment time to finally start on me. the whole experience felt rushed. my total was $58 which i get for dip and french tip but they don't even look that great. none of them are the same size or shape. i asked for a soft coffin, some nails are going in and the others are just straight square. the natural part of the french looks like peanut butter. one week later and a nail is already coming off. i do not recommend going here. read more

They took SUCH good care of me and really went the extra mile to make sure I get comfortable during my service. They did a very thorough job and the building was absolutely beautiful!
