MY GO-TO! I'm a little surprised I've never reviewed this place before because I've been going here pretty loyally for the last five years. I always get a great manicure (or pedicure) and it always lasts. I've gone other places with friends and never had a better manicure (elsewhere, often a bad mani that ruins my nails) or a better experience. Here's why I like this place in addition to the great manicures that last: It's cozy. Not like a freaking production warehouse. It's quiet in a good way. I can always get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time, even same day, depending on the day. Their prices are competitive. Importantly, The ladies (nail techs) are super friendly, steady (same peoplw for years) and they all speak English well so you don't feel awkward. They are local community members and just really good people. I genuinely like them. If you're looking for your go to Nail place in the area, this is it. The only thing that I would say negatively is just that their pedicure chairs are not the best/all in working order. So if you're looking for a really Spa-like pedicure experience, this isn't the place. (But usually I don't care about that.) Ps the post below about the nail tear off is shocking - and an anomaly) but she posted it twice to lower their score! Sad. read more

I've been coming here for awhile now and I'm always happy with the result. I've had regular pedicures and those are great but I switched to shellac about 6 months ago and I'm amazed. For the first time ever, I did red on my fingernails for the holidays and love it! They helped me choose the best color for my skin tone and they're absolutely perfect. I have been going to this salon for over 5 years. As many of business the pandemic hurt them as well. The original owner sold the business and , so there are only a few people who continue to work here. I stay with one person and make my appointments . I am satisfied with my nail tech Jeannie. Usually this place is really good but I went there for a repair and she completely took off my nail bed when removing the previous nail. She insisted on prying it off with clippers and a nail, once it started bleeding she tried blaming me for it and then insisted I put all those chemicals over my open nail bed. I will not returning. read more

I have been to alot of different salons. Seems like the past 5 different salons have either been dirty, not transparent about price, don't do a great job on my nails. I finally feel satisfied with Red Gloss. I have been there twice now and they have done a very nice job on my nails. They told me the price for a manicure on the phone and then charged me with that price once I had my nails done. Also they don't try to oversell. If I only want a manicure, they are fine and don't push for a pedicure to go with it. The place is clean and I was very happy with my nails! I will continue with them. read more

This place is hit or miss. I saw others around me getting good service while I received a horrible pedicure. Just poor service all around and I will not waste my time or money here again. If you get the chair on the far end by the wall just leave because it barely works. read more

Posting two places because this is art! I've been going to Red Gloss for a few months now after a not so pleasant experience at a Rochester nail salon. The thing that turned me to Red Gloss was how I felt after services. You know how some salons get so booked you feel like you're just another number (normally one with a $ in front and the more $, the better treatment)? Well, that's how I ended up here. I decided that I wanted to feel good because, let's face it, manicures and pedicures really are still luxury services. I wanted to feel happy that I came out a bit prettier than I came in and that I got to sit in a great artist's chair. Finally found this in Jessica! I'm pretty simple, I like a nice shape, pretty colors, but with Jessica I've even had a few designs. She's SO talented and careful with her work that I felt guilty by not asking for something more than a basic dip manicure. I'm usually pretty quiet, so Jessica works quickly and her passion for nails is so clear. She's super witty too, so when I finally have something to say, she's always fun to talk to. I love sitting across from her! I haven't had anyone else in the shop on my nails for full service, but everyone is so sweet. It's a calm environment, really pretty decor. I can also sense the team really seems to like each other which means everything-- generally happy employees mean good work and good work helps feed a good environment. Plus they help each other and that just feels right. Bet you didn't expect all of this huh? Yeah, pampering can get a little spiritual for me. Really disappointed with my experience. I have been coming here for the last 5 years. I have never felt like my time here was ever rushed which is why I always came out of my way to continue coming here. My feet from beginning to end took no more than 15 minutes. No cuticles we're pushed back or cut. I hadn't had a pedicure in 2 months so I know there was much to do. I had an appointment so my time should have been blocked. Nothing is more infuriating and frustrating to see the patron next to me getting the full proper attention and You are just being pushed along and rushed. I always feel uncomfortable speaking up, as most do. But this is a luxury and an expensive one at that. I can say, I unfortunately will not be coming back. read more

Every year my family and I get our nails done after thanksgiving. I called to make an appointment for 8 people, and told the owner 3 of us have gift cards. She told me "that's fine". After our pedicures were done she told us she can't use the gift cards because she is the new owner and she will lose money. She would not fully honor them despite us having the original receipt for when the gift cards were purchased. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing and I will not be returning. Loved it. They were running behind for my pedicure but I got to wait in their massage chair soaking my feet so it was worth the wait! I loved the way the chair leans all the way back so you can lay down during your pedicure and get a great back massage! Also very bright and clean. read more

NEVER EVER GO HERE!!! The owner and staff are terrible! Specifically one nail tech, Jessica. She is incredibly rude and left me sitting there in the middle of doing my nails while she went to talk to her coworker. She complains every time you ask her to fix something and always seems to be a rush to finish and doesn't even care if her work isn't done correctly or neatly. from the moment i stepped in the salon i felt like a burden. i arrived early and sat for a few minutes then someone called me over to remove the polish from my nails. i was left there for five minutes until someone came and put a hot towel on my hands, then i was left for another five until someone changed my towels. a few minutes after i was told to pick out a color. i let her know about a possible design i wanted to do and she was doing her best to get out of it. i had one nail shorter and asked for a tip to which she said 'i don't know if we have time for that' one tip! like i was there early and they let me sit until a good 15 after my appointment time to finally start on me. the whole experience felt rushed. my total was $58 which i get for dip and french tip but they don't even look that great. none of them are the same size or shape. i asked for a soft coffin, some nails are going in and the others are just straight square. the natural part of the french looks like peanut butter. one week later and a nail is already coming off. i do not recommend going here. read more

No long waits in the reception area as long as you call ahead! I always love my nails when I leave, they have a wide range of colors to choose from! I am 30 weeks pregnant and was looking for somewhere a little more gentle to get my nails done and wandered into red gloss and I am so great duo that I did!! They took SUCH good care of me and really went the extra mile to make sure I get comfortable during my service. They did a very thorough job and the building was absolutely beautiful! Everything was clean and sanitary and I love that they have so many organic options instead of the traditional harsh chemicals. Been a client at the nail spa for a few years and will continue for years to come. It is quite a drive from my home but worth the time and distance I travel. The staff is ALWAYS friendly. The entire staff is wonderful and friendly. They do their best to fit in walk-ins and last minute appointments and always do a great job. I normally get the shellac manicure and pedicure. My manicures and pedicures always last and look great for weeks. The pricing is straightforward and affordable for the quality of service you receive. There are never any surprises when you pay. I recommend this nail salon to everyone because aside from myself, they are the only ones I allow near my nails. They ask what nail shape you prefer and are knowledgeable about their products and services. The main reason I started coming here was because they do not offer acrylic services so I didn't feel like I needed a mask to walk in. All their polish, lotions and treatments are organic and use more natural ingredients. The salon is always fresh, clean and you feel like family. The zero gravity pedicure chairs and leg and arm massage with each service always leave me feeling relaxed. I never feel as though they are rushing me out the door or feel like a number, the staff truly cares about their clients and I am so glad I finally found a nail salon that I feel comfortable in. I currently live out of state and Red Gloss was my first stop once back in town visiting family. read more

After being a loyal client for nearly two years, my recent encounter was appalling. On December 26, 2024, Anya canceled my fill-in appointment due to illness, which I understood. However, her dismissive and hostile response when I tried to reschedule was unprofessional and rude. When I reached out about my nails lifting and needing urgent attention, Anya's reply was focused on her personal situation rather than my needs. After escalating the issue to the owner, I was contacted by someone named Maggie, who they claimed was the salon manager yet for the 1 1/2 years I was there never had I heard of said manager nor a manager existing at all. Conveniently enough magically, there was a manager to handle my complaint when I contacted the Abby. Maggie messaged me who not only refused to offer a solution but also told me I was no longer a "fit" for the salon. This unprofessional dismissal ended my long-standing relationship with them, and I was left without the services I had already paid for. What was worse, there is a toxic, "mean girl" atmosphere at this salon. The staff is fake to your face and talks behind your back. They make the client out to be in the wrong falsely implied that I had made unreasonable demands in the past, which is not the case. I have text messages to proof my assertion, Instead of taking responsibility for the subpar service, Anya deflected and failed to offer a constructive solution. They stick together, no matter who is in the wrong. If a client voices a legitimate concern, the staff shuts them down, and as soon as any complaint arises, they retaliate by refusing service. This entire ordeal caused significant emotional distress and financial loss, as I had to seek another salon for repairs at extra cost and inconvenience. I was never offered a chance to resolve the issue, nor was I compensated for my losses. If you're considering this salon, be cautious. The lack of professionalism, the toxic environment, and how they treat their clients is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Sugarcoat Nail Loft.

I asked for very short but my nails are all different lengths and shapes. Some are not filed smoothly and pinky looks like it wasn't cut at all. Place was clean and cute so it seemed inviting at first, but it's just not my vibe.

They made time for me to get a pedicure and a shellac manicure as a walk in. Despite being busy, my nail tech took his time during the whole process, and it was the most relaxing pedicure I have gotten in awhile. I had to wait a few minutes in between my pedicure and manicure while he helped other customers, but I didn't mind because I didn't expect to be able to get in at all. Everyone who works there is so polite, and my nails looked great afterwards! I paid $60 for a shellac mani and regular pedi, which I think is a great deal considering the amount of time my nail tech spent on me. I will definitely be coming back!

She continued to cut in the same manner. Finally it got so painful that I kindly asked her to just stop cutting the cuticles all together and move on to the next task. She disregarded what I said and continued to cut into my toenail. Even after she started polishing she would pick up the tool and pick at my big toe nail so more. I was blown away and how ignorant someone could be. My big toe is inflamed and puss is coming out now because of how deep she dug. This woman should not work in a nail salon. I will never return to this place again even if they paid for my pedicure. Worst experience of my life with any salon and I'm 36.

The first time I did dip there one of my nails broke in half when I was cleaning because it was done so thin. This time, I spent $100 on dip nails and regular pedicure which is pricey to start and my nails barely lasted. The other two places I've been recently make my nails last at leasttttt 2 weeks looking great but just a little grown. Upset about this and don't have time to go back and get it fixed.
