This restaurant is an actual boat. The entrance, galley…read more(kitchen) and a bar with a tiki vibe are on the lower level. Also has a platform where one can dip in the water. The top level where we ate has a huge bar, with two or three bartenders working it, and many of the tables are arranged like patio benches and each table has a small fire pit on it. They have umbrellas also. We went at the end of the season in October, so it was not busy like earlier in the season. Food is typical bar food. Not the cheapest. (Burgers about $ 14). Decent with good fries. We also had Ahi tuna appetizer for about $ 12. The plate is small but quality was very good. We were surprised. They also serve pizzas which we did not order. It's far enough from the boardwalk that one can see without being seen. The staff is very friendly, both the servers and bartenders. We had a great time. On a good day, this is an excellent spot to spend the afternoon.

So, apparently, the cook failed to show up for work. They were late to open and when they did we were told the menu was very limited. Fair enough, what can we order we asked. Burgers, dogs and pizza were off the list, (how these are difficult items is beyond me) fish sandwich and chicken was on the list. We ordered chicken sandwich, haddock sandwich and chicken fingers. 30 minutes later food finally showed, fish was raw inside, chicken raw inside, fries were cold. Best guess, they had not thawed previously frozen food before cooking. I used to work in the restaurant business long ago and that is all that I can think would explain this as the appearance would have led me to believe it was cooked. So, if this is the case, the food is not "made to order" as it says on their page and since they were missing their cook, no one knew to thaw the food ahead of time (best guess). One other thing, the beer I ordered was listed on menu as a 16oz beer for $8, instead I received a 12oz can, this was while waiting for food. Very dissapointing, they should have shut down kitchen under these circumstances. Their own web page warns about eating undercooked food and then they served it to us, hopefully no one gets sick from that first bite. Food was sent back, we gave up, waiter said they removed food from bill...

The bad : Service is terrible and nonexistent, you have to order at the bar and pick up your own food. Of course, they ask for a 25% tip anyway. They upsold a beer right before closing, and then told us we have clear off. With the full beer they just happily to sold us. Also, food prices are absolutely disgusting. See the photo with the menu - $13 for a pretzel. Just absolute cash grabbing nonsense. The good: the outdoor space is quite nice. Large lawn, lots of options between picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Some little trails in a wooded area (for disc golf, but still little paths to walk). The beer is good, at least the farmhouse and Scottish ales.

We came here after attending the massive Gunstock Ski sale. We now have an après ski place coming back home from skiing at Gunstock. Really awesome ambiance and even better service. Just superb service with knowledgeable and friendly bar tenders who explained the brews and the intricate flavors. We tried both their IPAs, the Palmer's Towm IPA and their Lake Cruiser. Both superb. Then a Pumpkin ale that was awesome and a Sour that made us pucker (for the good). Then we thought about food.... Their flat bread pizza, pepperoni and hot honey, is the only thing that beats the Ragged Mountain flatbreads.... And then we had their Bavarian Pretzels which were a wonderful compliment... Overall a superb late afternoon.

The staff seemed frantic but they were working very promptly to make sure customers could be seated. I was told that our party of 2 would be about 15-20 mins. They took my phone # to add to the waitlist. The wait was more like 6 or 7 mins. We were seated in the bar area at the booths. The bar is somewhat loud but it was still average. It's nice that they can accommodate parties of 2 so easily. There were several large groups, primarily families so it's certainly kid-friendly. They serve up some of the BEST fries! I suggest the O'Crabby Patty. It is on the heavy side with caramelized onions but wow is it packed with flavor. I will be getting that again for sure!

The menu has changed a lot from what is online. There isn't a plant based or mushroom burger anymore. The prices have all gone up between 10-30%. The good? Live music on Thursday night with Dave Clark. He plays a wide range of music. Show him some love! Our server was pretty great. Friendly, answered all our questions, and gave good recommendations. Overall, a pleasant local Irish place with many different food options.

She was prompt, courteous, and friendly. The music was good, though a bit too loud (we were seated too close). We had not been to 405 on a Live music night though, so we made the best of it. We will ask to sit farther away if that happens again. Or we just won't go on music nights. The singer guitarist was good, but every song was in the same key (all songs sounded alike). Some like that. We don't. Musical taste is subjective. We're musicians and know that. It's tough to please everyone. Our food and drinks were all delicious! And that's really why we continue to go to 405. My steak tips and Greek salad was yummy! My daughter had the same and loved it too. My husband loved the fish and chips. Son-in-law loved his burger and said if even beat Patrick's! Ha!

Driving in I asked my husband I asked what Kettlehead is known for an he said: Beer. Yet somehow, I can't love Kettlehead. A few things occured that damaged the experience: 1. The waitress spilled a sampler all over my wristlet and cell phone. She was oblivious but she has been spilling it the whole walk to the table! She seamed put out i asked of they had bleach wipes as we were in from out of town and i didnt want mty cell phone smelling like beer all weekend. 2. The waitress stated the coin change machine is wonky and they don't own it. The coin machine worked fine but it was the first game we played, Tokyo Drift, that ate our money. I reported it and seamed like the guy didn't care. He didn't offer me a $1 to make up for it nor did he shut down the machine after my report. I feel like if you have it in your place, you should stand behind it. An issue, it should become yours. 3. The pretzels are terrible. They are like sliced and fried with no flavor. They looked like little hot dogs. We go to a ton of breweries and this is the worst pretzel experience we have ever had. Also, the waitress told us the mustard was the beer cheese and vice versa. My kid was not to happy when she ate mustard! But also, the worst beer cheese we have encountered as well. Her excuse, she has been up since 4am. Well, my husband wasn't wrong. He raved over their beer. Nobody was impressed with their food.
