Been going to red hot and blue for years. Always pick up the wing drummies. My favorite potato salad also.

I really wasn't impressed with the food here. I arrived in the area an hour before my nail appointment, so decided to get some lunch. Pull chicken sandwich 1/10 - Very bland, literally no flavor at all except for the BBQ sauce. The bun wasn't good either and broke a part very easily. Mac & cheese 8/10 - Delicious and flavorful. It was the best thing I ate there. Potato salad 5/10 - Just okay, more flavor was needed. Cole slaw 5/10 - Just okay, more flavor was needed. Banana pudding 0/10 - Absolutely disgusting. Literally the worst banana pudding I've ever had. For starters, the pudding was grainy and the bananas were old. Lastly, there was only two cookies placed on the top!!!! I've never in my life had a banana pudding with only two cookies! The cookies should've been layered with the pudding anyway. Who eats banana pudding with hard cookies? I had a few bites and then I was done. I couldn't finish it. I don't know if I would eat here again. read more

We ordered drinks informed server guy that it was our fist time would he recommended anything he walks away. Of course I thought maybe he was getting drinks and thinking He comes back no suggestions. We did the burnet ends. A runner brings out food we have no silverware so waiting. When server comes back I asked for silverware I pointed out the ends weren't burnt more just thick fat. But who's to say you can't enjoy bbq. Again he took out silverware so when entree comes out from food runner. He drops food and leaves. When server passed I said excuse he keeps walking. He then comes back and said what do you need. I said the silverware remember you took it. He said it's coming food still sitting. I break open fish not tasty and must use breadcrumbss. Very odd taste. Idk. I wanted to try something else. Still would've paid for my tab. But server never came back after silverware for me to say anything. Finally I got up went to find a manager I informed manager of what was going on terrible mistake because manger comes to table with check. And says here you go I said no disrespect but in our conversation I never said I didn't want to eat. Just said I'm not amazed with service and Mac and cheese. He asked what I would like I order food chicken no sauce. An look at kitchen tab. I'm still lost. When time to pay. I saw I had a 10 coupon from yelp. Thanks. But the server argues me down that I stole the coupon and had already used it again I have never been here or establishment. Now the food it's a no for me and pull pork is ok and the bourbon bbq sauce is pretty good also but the sides is a huge no the Mac and cheese is super watery and who adds green peppers to bbq beans it's a huge no for me I did not like either sides and the hush puppies were overcooked! read more

Overall: 2-stars at best. A big disappointment. This was a post-Covid visit, and this establishment took a big hit during Covid. It went from 4-plus-stars to 2-stars. Let's hope it gets better. Menu: 1-star. The stack of ribs and the biscuits tasted old like they have been sitting around for a while. The only thing fresh was the salad. Service: 2-stars. This is a restaurant in Laurel I would pick to catch up with a friend near Fort Meade or to just chillax and get my BBQ Wings fix. Plus they have a $10 off Yelp Check-in coupon, which is the highest amount I've seen yet. (Not sure if the offer is forever, so check for yourself.) I order the wings half breaded and half non-breaded because both styles are fantastic and I can't neglect one. I thoroughly enjoy the Bourbon Molasses and the Sweet and Sour Chili wings. I crave these wings often, they are so good! As for the Delta Catfish plate and the Chicken Salad, both were good but average to me. There are other entrees on the menu I will try next time. I just wanted update my review after dining here again recently and wanted to add that I went to Memphis earlier this summer and ate at three recommended places for Ribs by locals. All three were "famous" for their BBQ. Although they were good, and I discovered a coleslaw that was made with mustard which was pretty outstanding, I maintain that the ribs at Red Hot and Blue are superior to all three of those places and RHB is a better value. And to top it off, the green beans as a side are excellent. Friendly service, great ribs, and some of the best the fresh brewed tea makes RHB one of my favorite places to go. PS - I like the ribs at RHB a lot better than Mission BBQ as well. read more

Amid the pandemic we decided we'll be ordering I locally once a week and this was our first stop. I ordered over the phone and the gentleman I spoke with was helpful, because I had no clue how portions worked here. The order was done probably in 15 mins but I was driving from about 20 mins away so it was ready upon arrival. We had two meals to share. We are the brisket, pulled pork, and brisket tips. Sides were green beans, hush puppies, sweet potato fries, and fried okra. Tons of extra sauce on the side! And two big buns that I didn't expect. Overall the food was yummy! Meat was tender and pulled apart. Both sauces were yummy and I preferred the more vinegar based one. My criticism would be the exceptionally small portion of tips considering the price. And the food was a bit cold, but I can put that aside considering it was probably done for a bit before I got there and I had a 13-15 min drive home. I visited this place after a long time and boy was I disappointed. The burger bread was dry. The tomato and the lettuce were old, the greens I had to send back and the fries were done in old oil. I could taste it. After eating two i dumped the remainder. This place used to have great food. THE GOOD........Cool little hole in the wall restaurant/bar.The food for the most part was actually really good. I had the "Delta Catfish" and perfectly seasoned and not a ton of breading all over it like most places do to cover up their bad food. The smoked chicken was incredibly good! It was well seasoned and moist. Something that is really easy to screw up on a grill or in a smoker. I love the fact that they make the chips and the salsa for the nachos in house. I could have sat and ate just the chips all night. THE BAD.... Being from Texas the burnt ends and the bark on brisket are cornerstones of good barbecue not to mention walking up to a barbecue place and being able to smell the smoke from the smokers. The burnt ends, and I use that term extremely loosely are basically just cubes of brisket. Now if you're actually expecting burnt ends yes this would be an issue, but the brisket was actually really good, but not burnt ends. The bark was almost non-existent. I guess maybe that's just how they do it up here in the north. Now to the collard greens, WOW! The collard greens looked great and I was actually excited to taste them however they had less seasoning than the classified section of a newspaper. AND THE UGLY..... The pecan pie just looked sad. the pecan pie look like a little kid that just had his puppy kicked. It tasted more like a ton of candy pecans in a pie shell with a big scoop of ice cream on top crushing what little life it had in it out. But if you have a 5-year-old niece or nephew and want to get them all sugared up before you drop them off at your parents definitely get the pecan pie. Picked up our order tonight about 5:15. Ordered 2 slabs and a pint of baked beans, potato salad as sides, ordered additional rolls as well. From what I remember they used to give 4 sides per full Slab. And larger nice rolls like 5" long. Now the rolls are round and all were hard exterior, not fresh. baked beans used to be Awesome, it's a new recipe and definitely not up to their own standards Ribs are still good but the sides are not what they used to be. read more

I love Red Hot & Blue always have. I use to go to one in Colorado Springs all the time with my mother. My favorite thing ever here is the gumbo !!! i could eat buckets of it really. The restaurant is music themed with pictures of Blues and Rock & Roll pictures on the wall. The lunch menu offered full plated meals for less than $10. Customer Service: Nice and Professinal. Service timing is pretty good. I grade this a 9. Food I Ate: Bacon and cheddar Fries: Very huge portion and could be it's own meal! Very good and I I give bgg it a 8. Red Hot and Blue Nachos: Again, very huge portion again that could be a meal. I am big nacho guy and this was pretty dam good. I grade it an 8. I frequent the other Red, Hot & Blues in the area and I've never had a bad experience. This visit to the Laurel Red, Hot & Blue wasn't the best. The waitress got our order wrong. After fixing the problem the first set of wings had rubbery skin and were not hot. The second wing attempt was better but were not knock my socks off, wings. The wife's burger order had to go back as the hamburger was medium-rare vice the well-done she asked for. I'll never write off a Red, Hot & Blue but maybe I should stick to the other establishments. read more

In the past, the business I work for has used this location for catering. They are VERY good with that. Make this your first choice if you are considering a take-away catering deal. They will also deliver if you need that. This past week I was in the area and it fit the bill: We were hungry, it was there. Tip: Plenty of parking in the back of the row of businesses. Walk up the steps to the far right of the building. We were seated immediately at 1 PM on a Friday and our waitress was apparently a pro. Beverages brought out before we made our menu selections (and later, a glass of ice to refresh our teas.) Take the offered house-made spicy mustard, you will not regret it. I liked the food here for the most part, the problem more was that we received like half of our order incorrect. We got the five meat combo to go with the sweet and dry ribs, smoked chicken, sausage and the brisket with collard greens and green beans. However instead of the dry ribs, smoked chicken or green beans we received pulled pork and chicken, and a side of cole slaw. Along with a catfish plate with mac and cheese and bbq beans. The unfortunate thing is that it's not located in the 'restaurant center' of town instead is it is on historic old Main Street which is a great location with a great interior but it's slightly off beaten path. If i found a single peace of stringy fat with any meat on it, i would be lying. Brisket sandwich - bad. Just bad. Lets leave it at that. I left with an empty stomach, empty wallet... The hot sauce tasted watered down. We also bought the brisket platter. Absolutely horrible. Not worth $17.00 at all. I don't know what they have done to the pork n beans. Didn't taste good at all. NEVER AGAIN! I've supported RHB for over 25 years, however they have consistently went down hill quickly in the last few years! The latest disappointment is they now only give you two (2) small "piss ant" size sides per full slab instead of the usual four (4) on TAKE OUT ORDERS. The sides were pretty small to begin with, and now you only get two? Seriously, I questioned it and was told it was a "corporate" decision and that I "could order larger pint size sides for an extra charge". The prices have already escalated to a point where I no longer consider RHB a good value. When picking up the order I asked about the dinner rolls as none were in the bag. Again, I was told they "no longer include dinner rolls on TAKE OUT ORDERS and it was also a "corporate" decision not to do so". Two slabs with only 4 small sides, a nacho appetizer, and NO dinner roll for $79 bucks? I felt sorry for the bartender / server and gave him a tip on top of that, however I won't be going back for dine in or take out. By the way, we had to ask for the dinner rolls the last 3 or 4 times prior and were given little crappy stale roles (not like the crispy, hot, buttery rolls in the past). I kept hoping they were just out of the regular rolls and fed those sub par rolls to my dog. Also, the wet ribs have been somewhat fatty and sub-par lately. The pork sandwich wasn't that bad. The stew was somewhat bland, but was packed with meat. The garlic mashed potatoes weren't that flavorful either. The collards tasted like it was from a can, just slightly doctored up. The side portions were very small too. Overall, I'm not one to waste food, if it's tolerable. Visited this location yesterday and was EXTREMELY disappointed and surprised at how bad the food was. I ordered takeout and the food was ready quickly which was great. I ordered the Smoked Sausage Sandwich and the Burnt Ends Platter. The burnt ends were ok but the sides were awful. The collard greens were totally bland and unseasoned and the potato salad was so so. The smoked sausage was bland as if it had been split and boiled to remove all the seasoning. It was by far the worst bbq I have ever had. I have eaten at other Red, Hot & Blue restaurants and have really enjoyed the food. The manager of this location definitely needs to randomly do taste checks of the product they're selling because his kitchen is letting him/her down. This is one one of my favorite places and I honestly wanted to give it 5 stars! The feel of the restaurant is nice and quaint I love it! My co worker and I stopped in for lunch she ordered the southern fried seafood player and I ordered the 5 meats tray with my sides being fried and hush puppies! My food was absolutely cold not refrigerator cold but it was definitely a notch below room temperature cold. I politely asked for the waiter to heat it up more because it was cold!! The food was greatly seasoned with was good I loVed the taste but it almost turned me off with the food being less then room temperature cold. Our server wasn't that great I'd say he really couldn't give me recommendations on food! He did a wonderful job refilling our drinks. I used to love this restaurant. We went there every week and I loved their brisket. We went there last night for my son's birthday and we were very disappointed. First, we got the nachos with pulled pork. I have to say, those were still delicious. I also got a cup of the cream of crab soup that was good too. The problems were with the entrees. The brisket and pulled chicken tasted like there were no seasoning whatsoever on the meat. I had to put a lot of barbecue sauce on it to make it edible and I didn't even finish it. My family also complained about their brisket. The potato salad was good and the hushpuppies were ok. Would have been nice to have some tartar sauce to dip it in. We ordered carryout from RHB in Laurel tonight. It's been a few months since we last ordered, but we have been coming to this location for many years. In the Laurel Takeout Group on Facebook, people have been complaining that RHB was no longer good, but I didn't pay it any mind. Sadly, after spending close to $100 on our food tonight, I discovered the reviews were 100% on. This is NOTHING like I remember from RHB. I used to love their potato salad and order it by the tray full. It takes NOTHING like it did. It's a mushy mess with totally different ingredients. The baked beans and green beans were flavorless! Stopped by Red Hot & Blue for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised by this place! We were quickly seated and given our drinks. There were quite a few options to pick from but I went with the pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was delicious but the sandwich didn't have enough BBQ sauce on it -- good thing there was plenty on the table!! We ordered wings for an appetizer and they were really good. I appreciated that they split sauces for the wings. It did take a while for the food to come out but it was probably because the place was very busy.
