Representing the letter A in 2024 was America's Best Wings. I had America's Best years earlier at another location and remembered it wasn't great. Saturday, January 20, 2024 was the coldest day that winter. I was chilling at home in the early afternoon, bundled up, and had planned on going to my favorite games Meetup group near BWI area. However, my car wouldn't start, and I thought it had to do with the battery in the key fob. I had gotten a ride from a neighbor up to Wal-Mart for a battery fob. Wal-Mart staff had told me it was right one, but when I got back, I realized it was the wrong one. I ended up walking in the cold & snowy ground from my home in Russett (it had just snowed several inches the day before) up to Wal-Mart as my one neighbor left and didn't see anyone else out there. Wal-Mart didn't have the right one, I walked up to Corridor Marketplace Target (didn't have either), and then ultimately the auto parts store here in the Shoppers center to get the car key fob battery. It was dark outside and didn't want to walk home in the dark & even colder. So, first I ate dinner at America's Best Wings since it was convenient in the same center. Staff was cordial answering my questions. I got 15 wings, 3 different flavors. Wings were decent, but I was disappointed, these were these deep fried wings. I was thinking they wouldn't be breaded like one might get at Buffalo Wild Wings. I couldn't remember as it had been maybe 7 years earlier since I went to one. The place wasn't very clean with windows stretched up. This is not a place I'd necessarily go back to unless I ended up getting coupon mailers or some deal to get me back in the door. As for my car situation, I ended up taking a Lyft back to my home $8 to only go 1-mile (rip-off), but what choice did I have as it was dark & very cold out. I got back to the car and new key fob battery fit this time. However, the car still wouldn't start. I determined it must be the car battery itself. I got at the time Allstate (switched to State Farm weeks later for issues with Allstate unrelated to this) for their essentially triple A service to check the battery and to have towed on a place open on Sunday. My weekend was partially derailed but my Sunday was redeemed when they replaced my battery. I'll always associate America's Best Wings here with that bad memory and won't rush back over here. read more

I hadnt had America's best wings in years, but something compelled me to try them again last week. Oddly, I was craving a turkey burger and saw they sold that, but also added some Hot BBQ wings on the side. The turkey burger was so good, but the wings definitely had me questioning why I forgot about them! They were cooked perfectly, not a questionably large size, and the sauce was perfect. Also, I called over the phone and asked in person if they are halal and was told yes! I need to verify they have a certificate next time I go (my husband is muslim, but the order was just for me that day, so I was not as vigilant), but it's good to have them as a halal option for some good wings in the area! My main gripe is the price. I paid $1 for a side of mambo sauce that came in a tiny cup and the wings with fries meal and a drink was $22. Also, I their ice tea and lemonade tasted very artificial. So no more side sauces, ice tea, or lemonade for me, but I will continue to get my wings and fries despite the price! read more

Positive side- The young lady who takes the orders is very pleasant and handles the call in orders and in-person orders well. The wall decor is still bright and colorful. Not so positive side- I know, that I know prices for food(whether prepared or not) have gone up but Americas Best Wings have certainly price-gouged their menu options. The wing combos went from $11.99 to $18.99!!! Nothing fancy no dessert added just the same concept 10 wingettes, crinkle cut fries and a fountain drink. The wings appear to have been taken from a pigeon they're so small, the fries aren't plentiful and you get the same size cup. And oh, if you eat inside of the limited seating here and want a refill, that'll cost you .50 so drink slow or go to shoppers and get a can soda. I ordered 2 wingette combos w/ a side of fried okra and it came to $45.49!!! I nearly passed out because I wasn't being served by wait staff, I was standing at a counter with a plastic barrier. Food is decent but the business is very money hungry. They charge almost $1 for one sauce. They used to have both ketchup and mumbo sauce and now charge 50 cent per sauce. I haven't had a single poor experience with this location. We always order over the phone and the wings are always ready for pick up in 10-15 minutes. Typical America's Best affair. I'm always getting the old bay wings, but my boyfriend has had a few flavors and enjoyed each one. It's no frills service. Call, pay/pick up, and head on your way. After a long evening of shopping. It was a friday night and l was getting hungry. I was already in The Maryland City plaza shopping center and l said to myself hmmmm what to eat. I saw the sign and saw they also advertised that they sell Philadelphia Steak and cheese. I had been craving a steak and cheese for awhile. I also was in The mood for some buffalo wings. Well I was heading to do some grocery shopping and I didn't want to go hungry. I stopped at America's best wings for a few sautéed shrimp. The shrimp came with dirty rice and everything was pretty good. The shrimp were pretty small, but full of flavor and ungodly expensive. The rice was dry and it didn't have much flavor. I ended up dumping copious amounts of mondo sauce on the shrimp and rice to make them palatable. The good thing is that this place is the cleanest America's best wings I've ever encountered. You can literally eat off the floor it's so clean. Not that I would eat off the floor. And there's a Tv to keep you busy while you wait. Overall it was a bearable experience. read more

Lemon pepper is addictive! I like having tables in the restaurant so I can stay and eat, hangout with my family, and eat the food while it's hot and fresh!!! I love the quality and value. The flavors are consistent and the crinkle fries are satisfying! My kids sprinkle the old bay seasoning on it and their is not a fry left! It's worth waiting on freshly fried wings that come out crispy and then they are a train to flavor town!!! This particular location, has definitely changed and not really in favor of my tastebuds. The last 2 orders were disappointing, so I don't know why I gave them another chance. But, you know that when you have a taste for something in particular - it's kind of hard to just ignore it. The 10 pc wings combo, used to be our "go to". Like, finger-licking, "should i eat it all now or save some", type of flavor. But, now the quality has changed. The wings are smaller, and the flavors aren't always consistent. This has to be the worst location named, AMERICA'S BEST. From the food, service and cleanliness. This is my second time ordering from this location... So let me start with my first time... I was actually able to call in and place an order. Though it took two calls, someone did answer to take my order. This was January 2018 and it was hard to understand the rep on the phone. I ordered 10 lemon honey old bay wings with fries and a beverage. This is about $10 bucks. I live maybe... 3 minutes from this location. By the time I got home and opened my box... my wings had no sauce and were luke warm. The fries: NO COMMENT. Needless to say, I wanted wings again and they're the only location in the vicinity that offer a multitude of flavors. I asked for 10 old bay wings with honey and 5 whole wings with garlic parmesan flavor. I tried calling 301 483 9464 from home on four separate occasions to order my food. There was no answer. When I arrived to order my wings I asked the cashier to confirm the call-in number for carry out orders. Yes, please see above. He said that it was probably because he was in the back and that the other person working the front was busy. OKAY. So I was told to wait 10 minutes for my order. Ten minutes later I come back in the store and the only person behind the register picks up his phone and walks outside to his car. Waiting another 3 minutes. Someone comes from the back to fulfill the order. When I get my order, though I asked for 5 whole wings I got 5 pieces. There was no option to make up for the mistake. The 1 highlight... the wings taste pretty good. There's actually seasoning on the wings I ordered.. WOW. I'm so disappointed it hurts. I love American Best Wings but the food at this location is seriously lacking. It's disgusting really. I normally visit the location in Silver Spring, MD. The food there is always fresh and on point. Unfortunately, I decided that try this location today and learned that all locations aren't created equally. I ordered my usual Tilapia fried sub combo. I also ordered the grill shrimp which should be called the dry grilled shrimp and tasteless rice combo. I picked up my order a few minutes ago and I'm done with it already. Even the fries are nasty. I mean how can someone mess up French fries?! The tilapia sub was drench in mustard, with too much mushroom, soggy tomatoes, soggy bread and a few pieces of shredded lettuce. My first bite taste like a mouthful of mustard and so did every other bite there after. I literally took apart the sub to scrape off the mustard and mushrooms but the damage is already done. The tilapia itself had absolutely no flavor. I mean NONE. Back to the dry rubbery grilled shrimp and tasteless rice. I am looking at it and thinking why?! How?! I took a bite and ran for a cup of water to flush it down. I'm thinking MAN!! I really really wanted grilled shrimp today, but it's not even edible. To top it all off, the prices are way higher than the Silver Spring location. But the food in Silver Spring taste 100 times better. A complete waste of money and time. This was my second time going to this location. First let me say that this is one of the bigger ABWs and it's cleaner than others. There is an ambience that is inviting to family and the customer service is remarkable. My first time at this location I ordered the Power Ranch flavored chicken. It was tasty and seasoned well but it was wet which is completely opposite of their traditional baked on dry rub that I was accustomed to. The second time I went to this location, recently, I ordered the Garlic Pepper flavor and I must state that it was flavored really well (much more than normal). This is not a bad thing and it was tasty. The one aspect of this visit that was unpleasant when eating the chicken is that even though it was tasty, it had a rubbery texture. This ABWs location is a recent plant and I can only hope that over time they get it right. My concern may only be an issue for me but if I visit a third time and there is no change, I will return to my normal location a little further away. What I have experienced may not be an issue for others but for me, you pay a lot of money for the chicken, so therefore, I want to enjoy the product. Again, if customer service and presentation was the only qualifying criteria for a 5 star rating, I would, hands down, give them a 5 star rating but given the wet and rubbery chicken, I am forced to give an average 3 star ranking. I'm rating this establishment solely on the time it's taken for 20 wings to be ready after I ordered 37 minutes ago, I arrived at the establishment and still have to wait over 10 minutes for my order. Customer service at the counter isn't bad, cleanliness of the place is very good but the overall experience of having to wait almost an hour for an order placed over the phone, they get a 1 star because there's nothing lower. I guess I'll sound biased but this isn't an attack towards this specific location. But the quality of food is very low at this franchise. I've ordered a grilled chicken wrap. And where do I start. Literally it was a whole piece of chicken breast wrapped in a tortilla. A cold tortilla at that. They could've at least sliced up the chicken and preheated the tortilla on the griddle. Quality of wings is low as well. They're over cooked. Flavor is lacking. They use a dry rub. I guess it's just personal preference. The wings here are really good but the manager is rude and nasty. He was rude over the phone and then calmed down when he realized he sounded dumb. I asked for 20 wings and 3 flavors, he then says he can't put it in the system like that. So I'm like" ok" then he asks me what my 3rd flavor is. He calmed down a little when I snapped back at him.
