The quality of food has steadily progressed in a downward spiral at The Red Lobster overall. We had sworn off coming back here, but since we had been given a gift card, we had to go. I usually order the soup and salad. A long time ago, it was bottomless, and then they stopped that. I always had to ask for shrimp on my salad even though the menu says it comes with shrimp. Today I was told that the soup no longer comes in a bread bowl, even though the menu has a picture of the soup in a bread bowl. You can bet Red Lobster will be getting some feedback about that. Pretty soon you'll have to catch your own fish if they keep making cuts like this. read more

Is it just me, or do the other reviews seem overly harsh? Yea, it's not a cheap meal, but properly cooked fish generally isn't. Will you pay less for the same quality of burger/chicken, of course, it's fish (think steak). Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's the best fish in town, but you'll probably end up paying even more for that. The meal starts with the amazing/addictive cheddar biscuits. Yes, they are salty and yes, I've probably eaten something like 5 of them in one sitting. I know there is probably no natural cheese in them, but thanks to the garlic salt, I'm OK with that. My order came with a salad, I went with a Caesar. The cheese is real and the romaine was fresh, but the dressing and crutons are manufactured. Come for the fish, not the salad. Tonight, I had the "market" salmon, which I ordered blackened. As usual, the fish was perfectly cooked. Truth be told, no matter how I feel about a paricular fish preperation here, it is always cooked to proper temperature. It had a nice herb crust, but was nice and moist. The salmon is clearly farmed, but the crust makes up for it. For the price, I don't expect wild. The mashed potatoes were tasty, as usual. Sadly, the broccoli was overcooked, as usual, as well, but nicely seasoned. I ordered the Apple Crostada for desert (I rarely have room for desert here). I would not encourage anybody to order this. The crust was soggy and the apples were overly sweet and reminiscent of canned pie filling. I've been here before, and I'll probably be back the next time I'm in mood to eat fish out. read more

This is a fancy restaurant...... If you look at the expensive prices! Haha sorry but I haven't been to a red lobster since I was little. When I was little it seemed like a big deal to go there but now it just is not that good especially for the price. We got there and waited at the bar because there was a wait. Apparently the bartender wasn't happy with her co-worker bc we got to hear her complain to her other co-worker about him...not ideal but whatever. Drinks were very expensive like $6 a drink, FYI we are not downtown... We then were seated. The highlight of the restaurant was def our waitress Carrie. Very nice very helpful. Well done Carrie! We ordered food, first was Caesar salad Cesar dressing soup with salad in it...then our seafood, lots of butter, some seafood, and a high price. Not ideal. Food was average at best. Overall poor food for the price. Drinks were overpriced. I'm not one to complain but the only thing good here is Carrie our waitress. Go butter heaven! read more

Either we came in on an off night, or this is the worst Red Lobster in existence. We were staying in a hotel just minutes away and wanted to go out for my boyfriend's birthday. Our birthdays are just a few days apart so it was a double celebration, just the two of us. Every. Single. Thing. Was. Garbage. Yes. We can start with the server, who was polite at first and then became way too familiar, talking about her daughter, her religion and finally making rude comments about my appearance. As if joking made it hurt less. Not to mention, servers should never bring up religion with a patron. It was extremely offensive. I decided to get a whole lobster, because why not? It was my birthday dinner. You'd think the cook would know how to properly prepare a lobster at RED LOBSTER. Not this one. What I tried to eat was tough, chewy, and sad. That could not have been the lobster I picked. It was way overcooked. The butter tasted rancid so I couldn't even mask the old water taste of the rubbery lobster. My boyfriend got a combo plate with nothing cooked correctly. It was obvious that the green beans had been boiled to death, left to sit for hours, then reheated. Simply nothing was fresh or even hot. His steak was so dry and overcooked, it was GREY. He had asked for medium rare. When we left I felt like crying. I was embarrassed that I took my boyfriend to a meal that was so terrible. We've been coming here for the past 17 years for my hubby's birthday but after our experience last night we will never be back. We ordered our drinks. Our server brought our drinks but no water. My husband asked the server for waters. The server came back with one water for my husband. Hubby put it in the middle of the table so we could both share, apparently tap water must be expensive. My plate of food was correct, well cooked and hot. My husband ordered the meal that came with crab pasta, a cluster of snow crab legs and a cluster of king crab legs. The pasta was fine. However, the snow crab cluster was missing both a leg and the claw (best meat). The saddest part was what they tried to pass off as a king crab cluster. It was one leg attached to part of the body and 3 weird pieces that were completely separated from each other, so it was missing 2 whole legs. Since our server didn't come back for 5 minutes I flagged down the person who brought our food and showed her what was wrong. She said she would tell our server and the manager. 10 more minutes went by our server showed up and we showed him too. We waited 10 more minutes and my husband wanted to leave he was so mad after only eating the french fries on his plate. I waited at the table for a total of 21 minutes and we still didn't receive the "correct" crab legs. I went to the Manager and complained. I told her I would be happy to pay for our drinks and my meal but we wouldn't be back. She told me we wouldn't pay for any food and just the drinks and (2) $2 special glasses. The bill came to $54, which I thought was expensive but I just wanted to leave. I got home and realized they charged us $11.99 for another snow crab cluster and another $11.99 for the added king crab cluster. I called back the Manager and she assured me she would credit me. Terrible customer service, inappropriate and ugly food, along with billing problems. We won't be back and I told the Manager this. She gave me a $25 gift card that I won't use. We won't be back, ever. This place has really gone down hill. read more

Let me begin by saying this review is getting 2 stars based off the fact that some of the management was not quite up to par. As far as the food and service here, it has always been impeccable. I work near this location and frequent here for lunch as they have a few dishes I enjoy that come out quickly. My most recent visit was slightly disturbing as I had my usual server at the bar who has always been nothing but delightful. What I can only assume may have been the general manager came behind the bar to use the register. She apparently was unsatisfied with how things were organized and instead of voicing this in private to the employees at the restaurant she decided to start voicing her opinion out loud and being angry while slamming things around and re-organizing things. I've worked in the service industry before, and this was incredibly unprofessional and uncalled for. I would hope that in the future as someone who is in a management position they would have the self-control to not act out this way in front of customers who are paying for a nice dining experience outside of their home. read more

Came in to enjoy lunch with family and friends. Party of 6. We were approached by Bill, a distasteful host who failed to greet us let alone say "welcome to red lobster". He asked how many of us, we informed him and he stated the wait would be 10 mins. I asked him why the wait and he stated because he had to get the booth prepared-- not sure what he needed to prepare at the single top booth my party and I were sitting at. We patiently waited for the table as two-three other parties were seated efficiently. As I observed the operations and spoke to staff about who covered each area-- the findings were that all the minority customers (african Americans/black) were seated in the back, they also scheduled the only black servers Mario and Lexis in the back as well. I took pictures and videos and will send to corporate. It saddens me that a well known National business keeps its customers segregated. My first two pictures are of the back where all the blacks are seated and where the only black server was scheduled. Then the other pictures are of the front area, including empty seats where many of the black families could have been seated on a not so busy time. Mario-- thank you for your exceptional service and I hope that you are not reprimanded in any way for my review. I'm sure you see the same thing happening in your work place. Don't ever hesitate to speak up or take action on this serious matter. We should all be united, it's 2020. Red Lobster should do an ethnography and/or a study on this in hope of making it a better place for the consumers and employees. Unity! read more

I've been going to this Red Lobster since I was a kid in the 80s. We celebrated every Christmas Eve and most family birthdays here. I hadn't been there since pre Covid for a few reasons. But my friends asked if I wanted to go to celebrate my bday a few days ago. Then they mentioned the magic word - Crabfest. Crab is my favorite seafood so I was very excited and feeling nostalgic for RL. It started out great - friendly service, ok atmosphere and lots of biscuits to keep us happy. My friends ordered all you can eat shrimp and I ordered the roasted garlic butter crab legs. My crab was underwhelming (could hardly taste the garlic) and looked to be far less than a pound, but I didn't complain. I was just happy to be there. I upsized to lobster mashed potatoes and those were tasty. My friends enjoyed their various shrimp creations including shrimp scampi and coconut shrimp. Then one of my friends ordered the shrimp linguine. We waited for a very long time. No big deal; we weren't in a hurry. But then they brought it to the table. Oh. My. Gosh. Disgusting! The top was brown and crunchy. Crunchy?! Maybe hotdish should be crunchy on top, but not linguine. It had obviously separated also - so it was crunchy noodles swimming in a bath of oily butter. So incredibly unappetizing. My friend nicely mentioned to the server it looked "different" than usual. The server rudely replied "Just stir it. It'll be fine." STIR it? Stir the crunchy, nasty noodles into the separated butter bath? And actually eat it?? Eww. I honestly can't believe they even allowed that trash out of the kitchen! I spoke up and asked for a replacement. The server responded with a curt reply something like "Well the kitchen is backed up and taking a long time so we'll see if it's ready before you decide to leave." Really?! I understand being short staffed. I understand some customers can be difficult. But we were friendly, polite and calm so it wasn't necessary to act that way. We ended up waiting for linguine 2.0 and it looked much better. However between the rudeness at the end and the crunchy pasta incident I'm honestly apprehensive about going back again. read more

Was seated immediately upon arrival by a friendly host. Delicious shrimp and warm cheddar biscuits on a rainy day was an excellent choice for dinner. It was slightly dark outside and i even felt like the lighting was a bit too low. This is definitely one of my go to places for shrimp! read more

Three and a half stars, really. My mom is a fan of Red Lobster, as moms are wont to do. And I'm not mad at that. It's not the Oceanaire Room, but neither are the prices. The seafood is reasonably high quality. I'm a fan of the coconut shrimp, which comes in an enormous serving and a sweet coconut dipping sauce, and it's the perfect comfort food. There are healthier options on the menu as well, and you can't go wrong with the crab legs. And during the week, they have excellent deals. There's a Petite Ultimate Feast on Thursday night for $20 that has my name on it. Almost everything comes with a salad and at least one side, plus those famous cheddar biscuits, so you're bound to have leftovers. So grab your mom and enjoy a delicious and relatively inexpensive seafood dinner at Red Lobster. read more

The food here is top notch, I only make it to red lobster about twice a year. The service here was terrific. Our server Teresa was very attentive to everything, the bread was always fresh and on time, in my opinion they have the best Caesar salad in town. Tonight I ordered the shrimp trio which was served very hot sauces in the butter were terrific that went with it and Teresa was very knowledgeable about the entire menu including the ounce portion sizes for all of the fish, all of the sides. I like the fact they have a lot of fish that are less than 48 hours old. This is hard to find in a town like Minneapolis which is not located by the sea. Two thumbs up for Red Lobster read more

Red Lobster is not especially good but I like to go once in awhile during their Shrimpfest. The shrimp is a bit salty and not very flavorful (that is, the shrimp tastes more like butter or breading, not shrimp) but hey, sometimes it's fun to eat a ton of shrimp. This particular Red Lobster is fine. The staff is fairly friendly and the building seems clean and well-maintained. Service was a bit slow but we were there on a busy night so I don't hold that against them. Parking is ample. read more

My girlfriend and I went here after a long night of deciding where to go for dinner. It was a Sunday night so it was a little busy, about a 10 minute wait time was expected, not so bad, place was poppin. We were seated and right away the experience only went up, we met our server Mario, he was the best server either of us have ever experienced. Our drinks came right away, and the salad and delicious biscuits came hot and ready only a few minutes later. After we placed our orders, Mario came every few minutes to refill our drinks or bring us more biscuits. We've never had a server check in on us that much, and it seemed like the whole staff was super busy but still made time for each table. It was the best dining experience we've had in a long time and after a night full of tasty seafood and outstanding service I can easily say we will be coming back to this location, and I would recommend it! I don't understand why people eat here when you can have seafood that's more fresh and tastes way better for the same price at one of the local restaurants. I feel bad for lobsters in the tank, they don't even get to go out gracefully (as a delicious meal). Overall, if you've had any seafood besides filet-o-fish from McDonald's, you will be disappointed. read more

I must say, Red Lobster is not a good chain. I really don't like paying extreme amounts for farm raised seafood that tastes like licking an aquarium. It just doesn't make sense to me. I've been to this location a couple times now, and it has never impressed me, in fact none of the Red Lobsters have impressed me. I should point out, though, I did find the one in Duluth to be good, but at the same time, that was before I was exposed to fresh, delicious seafood.. even Bubba Gumps.. that place is better! The best thing about this restaurant are the Cheddar Bay Biscuits.. Everything else is really not that good. I would not recommend this place to anyone, except those of you who have not ever had fresh shrimp or fish. I feel like you could live your whole life eating farm raised seafood, and that would be OK for most.. But until you've been exposed that is! Once you've had fresh, wild caught shrimp, it ruins the whole shrimp experience... take me word for it! I guess you cannot hate on a chain restaurant that doesn't serve fresh food.. it comes with the territory, it's just.. for the price, I feel, well.. I feel they should just slash all the prices and it would make up for some of the lackluster food and service you get here! read more

I find the other reviews that mention thinking Red Lobster was a fancy restaurant when they were a kid very interesting because I used to think that too. Is it just that we didn't know better or was it truly better at one time? I just went there today for the second time this year and only because I had to. The customer service and cheddar bay biscuits are really the only things that stand out. I had salad each time and both times the lettuce was old and wilted. Now it wasn't so old that it was inedible but if that was in my fridge, I would never consider serving it to other people. I would be too embarrassed. I had salad from Wendy's recently and their lettuce was way better than this. I realize it is just lettuce, but if that isn't even fresh...yikes. read more

Red Lobster really isn't the same old Red Lobster, our experience last night was very poor. Our sever was very nice but kept apologizing for many restaurant mistakes as well as her own. She brought us drinks with no straws , she brought us our meal along with appetizers at the same time because she forgot about us, when bring the food and appetizers she never brought us utensils, the waitress brought us drinks but never came back to refill our drinks later, and finally the waitress stated we would get a refill on our biscuits and never brought any. My food was very under cooked both the linguine and the shrimp. I asked for new one and still the same experiences their second try. After a $60 dollar bill this will sadly be my families last visits to Red Lobster again. read more

This location has a severe lack of respect for parties and groups and refuses to take reservations. The only reason there's one star is the biscuits. Those delicious biscuits. Go somewhere else. Her personality is a breath of fresh air, she gave us lots of laughs and our server were the best! The team work there and the service was beyond expectations from any other red lobster we have been. I used to love this Red Lobster. But we stopped going last fall. I don't know what happened to the management, it used to be nice. My partner and I are a same sex couple. Our wait staff acted like waiting on us was repulsive in the extreme, and they traded out servers on us half way through for another server who was just as bad. Dirty, scornful looks if we asked for anything. As we ate we were quietly watching a video on my phone and the waiter brought the manager to our table and he accused us of watching porn! NO my wife and I were NOT watching porn in a restaurant! Or at all for that matter! We were watching a cartoon! Two points for the still great food. Minus three for some of the worst, most hostile customer service I've ever received in 55 years. I don't know when Red Lobster started its "employ a bigot" policy. But there are a lot of restaurants in Covid land who will treat customers like human beings, and are more than willing to take our money and treat us like humans. We always tip a minimum of 30%.
