We have lived close to this restaurant for over 20 years. We ate here early on and then stopped, for I don't remember why! We decided to give it a try again. Boy! Are we happy we did. We found the place clean and decorated well. The staff is really friendly. We went for lunch and were pleased to be able to get smaller portions. The food was also very tasty. Our server was Stacy, and she was wonderful.

The "Two meat and one side" lunch special. My broccoli was cold while nothing else, especially service, was more than barely "average."

We stopped in for on a (cold) winter Friday for lunch as it was on the way and, despite just "OK" prior visits, decided to give this Famous Dave's another shot. The visit got off to a lousy start. While the restaurant was definitely less than 50% occupied, we waited well more than 5 minutes to be greeted while the "host"...obviously a server pressed into service, seated another couple, processed the check for another table (who, of course, had questions), then disappeared. Eventually, the person who had been assisting two take away customers, cordially seated us at a booth. I ordered the "2 meat with a side" combo (my side was broccoli) from the lunch menu. The food arrived promptly (see photo). While our server refreshed soft drinks, without our asking, she never asked about the food. Too bad. She would have learned that the broccoli was cold...not a bit warm, cold. The chopped pork had obviously been chopped earlier in the day, was dry, barely warm and only had the flavor of the sauce dribbled over it by the kitchen. Disappointing for sure. Our server never returned until we asked for the check which she brought after clearing an adjacent table. Until we left the server generated so much noise moving tables, chairs, banging her broom/dust pan, it was literally impossible to carry on a conversation...the adjacent table of two commented to us on the same issue. The noise generated by the tables and chairs can't be a surprise. How about investing in glides...or don't they care? Look, I've prepped my station for the next shift hundreds of times but was always considerate of guests still at their tables. This employee was either untrained in such things, is not monitored by a supervisor or completely insensitive to the multiple tables/guests in the restaurant during the meal. It's easy to say the restaurant was overwhelmed with customers. It clearly was not. Or that it was short of staff. If so, I would hopefully have seen a manager or some level of urgency. I didn't. Overall, this is a place that is resting on the past reputation of it's brand while doing nothing to enhance it. Take it off your list. We certainly have.

Growing up me and my family used to go to Famous Dave's a lot as a kid. As a child I really disliked this restaurant. I didn't like the food or atmosphere and never came back here from being a kid. In recent events, with my wife and I looking for new restaurants to order from for take out, my wife suggested to try Famous Dave's. I just have to say I am so glad my wife suggested to try here again! It is now one of our go to spots for take out and have done it multiple times since the pandemic started. Restaurant: My wife and I have only done take out from this location so I can't judge on the location it self. Just on looks I do like the style of the restaurant. The outside looks nice and I like the look of the patio area. The inside is closed off so I haven't had a chance to look around there at all. Overall looks like a good place to eat meat and have a good time. Food: This is what keeps my wife and I coming back! This location has some great food and it has been great each time we have gotten it. We usually get the pick 3 each combo each time we come and that includes brisket, chicken tenders, and BBQ chicken. The chicken tenders have always been nice and crispy with a really good spice on them. The BBQ chicken is usually a breast/wing with the skin on. Its got a really seasoning on the chicken with a good amount of sauce as well. The meat also just falls off of the bone! Now our favorite is the brisket that comes on top of the toast. The brisket is melt in your mouth and is on a great piece of toast. It hasn't been soggy once for us and the taste has always been on par! We have also gotten the fries and beans from here but we haven't tried the other sides yet. We look forward to trying the rest! Overall: Overall this location has been great to my wife and I and I see us coming back for the long haul. The food has always been great when we have gone and gotten take out. The staff as always been nice to us as well. If you're in the mood for BBQ meat this is the place to go! I totally recommend it for everyone who hasn't tried it or wants to try it again!

The space itself is a great space. Well designed, and well kept. Plenty of parking surrounding the establishment. The main entrance is only on one side of the restaurant. Fun stuff all around the restaurant, pies looked great (although I didn't have any) You can learn from the fun items found around the cashier. Food wasn't great at all. It's usually good, but this time it wasn't good. This is my first time eating at this location. I'll come back to see if its a consistent thing with the food.

Food was delicious, service was kind and fast, plus the restaurant was very clean! Mains: St. Louis Style ribs rocked! Lots of meat and easy to eat off the bone. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage was an interesting new food to try, and I was very impressed by the savory flavors of the cheese and meat. Be careful though, because it does have quite a kick! Sides: I won't even mention the muffins because y'all know they are always BOMB. Sweet Potato Soufflé was okay, but basically just mashed sweet potato and too much brown sugar. Cole slaw was classic and a great complement to the hearty meats. Overall, this famous Dave's was on par if not better than the average one. If you're lookin for good, classic American BBQ, this place will do the trick.

we decided to order out for New Years Eve, we love BBQ! Unfortunately it was a lot of money for GARBAGE! My husband and I both had the brisket sandwich and it was DRY AND RUBBERY! THE WORST BRISKET WE'VE 3VER HAD! our dog threw up up! You would think that a restaurant that specializes in BBQ would have much, much higher standards. We will NEVER order from them again! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

Really good all american BBQ. It is not as great as some of the small batch stuff I have tried in the SE US but it is very good for Minnesota. Great space for a large group. We recently had 17 people and the service was amazing. I always eat way to much but thats on me and a tribute to how good the food is. Try all of the sauces at the table until you find your favorite. I love the beans and the coleslaw next up are the ribs and brisket. Make sure to peel the fat half off each slice of brisket so save yourself a heart attack. Really look around the check out the memorabilia in the main rooms and the rest rooms.

Stopped in after a long day at work. Ordered the 2 meat combo- ribs and chicken with 2 sides. Chicken was good, ribs were on the dry side. Apples were great, Wilbur beans were good, dessert was great! Even though they have added a few new items to menu, is worthy of stopping in to check out, I will not be ordering ribs again. Waitress was good at filling our glasses and was friendly. 3 's because of dry ribs

He even talked us into coming back for brunch -- and honestly, we probably will. Cocktails? Delicious. Food? Even better. We started with the cauliflower, which was packed with flavor. I had the shrimp and scallops pasta -- buttery, rich, and both the shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. My husband got the steak, and wow... every single thing on that plate was amazing. The potatoes were the star, but truly, every bite bursted with flavor. Such a great time. We'll definitely be back!

Back to Pink Ivy. The service is quality. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. The reservation policy may seem "strict", but if you can live with needing to provide a 24 cancel notice, I think you will find the service is good because the business doesn't get slammed by unexpected high demand. Wait person timing was off a tad when we first sat down. It felt a little rushed as we order our drinks and considered a starter. In fairness, a table of 16-20 followed us in so the wait person may have been doing us a favor. But it did influence my four star rating. Otherwise I'd have given 5 stars. Great care was taken when wait person checked for allergies. Not just asked, but noted and went to the kitchen to confirm. During the meal, flatware was changed out between courses, water refilled without disruption and the order arrived on time and all at one time. Our group enjoyed the halibut, salmon, and chicken bacon meatball items. Everyone loved their meals. A few of us ordered and split salads. We passed on desserts. The menu range may not be pages long, but all the usual suspects are there; salads, fish, poultry, beef, and pasta. And I know the chef rotates items on the menu. I encourage you to plan ahead. Reservations fill up days in advance. I think you'll find it worth the extra planning. PS my ratings are adjusted for the type of venue. These are not Michelin stars.

Beckett's in uptown and Meteor Bar in Northeast are great examples of bars, both with food, that consistently go later no matter what. granted they are both in Minneapolis, so different customer base. come here, support this local establishment! they are good, just not great though they could be!! p.s. yes i am writing this from the bar, and just an update: my bill confirmed their happy hour is NOT running tonight. :/ granted the bartender never said there was happy hour and those menus weren't out, so i suspected as much. but i came for the happy hour, including food, and got neither. first world problems for sure!

It was not great. The problem? I think it was because owner/chef Rene Ruiz Olivar was acting as waiter, not chef. We gave Sr. Ruiz the freedom to choose our tapas, with one exception, the black ink pasta with scallops and shrimp (Tinta Negra) that reviewers have raved about. He said, no problema--he would serve it. Then he must have forgotten because we never got it. The first tapa served, almond-crusted manchego (Almendrado), was plated prettily and was delicious but oh-so-sweet. It was an odd choice for a starter, would have been better as the finale in case nobody ordered dessert. Soon came a lamb tapa (Cordero). The lamb chops' quality was uncertain as the meat was severely overcooked. El Bodegon's langoustines (Gambas al Ajillo) had given every bit of their sea flavor to the sauce, which was magnificent, we all agreed. But where were the dish's promised mussels, the rice? One shared plate, a beef tenderloin tapa (Carne Brava), had apparently lingered too long in the kitchen--the meat was nearly cold. I adore papas bravas (Patatas Bravas). I must have had the dish a dozen times or more during my last trip to Spain, in 2017, when I visited friends who live in Ronda. During my six-week stay, we toured Andalucia, staying at hotels in large cities and visiting small towns. I also spent time sola in Madrid and Barcelona. Unlike in Spain, El Bodegon's potatoes were diced to death. Never in Spain have I ever had patatas bravas that were not substantial in size. All in all, I found the vegetables accompanying the tapas unrecognizable except for the tiny Brussels sprouts. The rest seemed chopped up or stirred to pieces in the pan. Some of my friends had churros for their dessert. They deemed them appropriately hot and tasty. My dessert was cheesecake torte, decked out with a candle as it was my 90th birthday. The torte was a gold-star winner. It was absolutely delicious, its plating the most successful of the evening. It was so perfect it almost made up for the sub-par tapas that preceded it. One of us had a view of the kitchen from his seat at the table. He saw a man other than the chef/owner doing the cooking. Was he a trainee? Did Sr. Ruiz help with the plating? God knows he didn't have a lot patrons to contend with in his role as waiter. It was a slow weeknight, and there were never more than four tables occupied. I sincerely regret that our time at El Bodegon differs from so many reviewers. Like them, I want to see Sr. Ruiz's little restaurant succeed. He has a hard row to hoe, and I hope a disappointing dinner like ours does not befall anyone else going forward.

We started with the popovers. The taste was fine but the texture was almost over done. The honey butter was lacking honey flavor. Cinnamon would have really elevated the butter! I got the steak frites and my sister got the spaghetti. My fries were average. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium all the way through! I was impressed. However, it was drowning in a VERY salty sauce! I had push a lot of it off. This should be served on the side, not covering the whole steak. My sister got the spaghetti, which our waitress explained was not a regular spaghetti. I feel she has probably had to do that multiple times and honestly, it should just be renamed. It's confusing for the customer. My sister did say she enjoyed the dish and that the shrimp was ere done well. For dessert I got "Aunties iced latte" which is their version of like an espresso martini. It was just ok. Would not get again. We got the carrot cake which was good!! But then they ruined it by putting fake whipped cream.... This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and that made the dessert feel so cheap. We also got the creme brûlée. DO NOT ORDER THAT! It is an absolute waste of money! The sugar top was so thick we couldn't eat it! The dessert had the consistency of scrambled eggs, not a smooth custard. The taste seemed ok, but whoever made this does not know what they are doing! Overall, the food was not memorable and a lot of it was done poorly. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.
