I spent several hours going through the bookmarks for restaurants I wanted to try looking for a good steak place with good service. I went through all 458 bookmarks I had, and I found most of the places over 3 years old were gone. I also found the majority of high-end place I was tracking were reporting more service problems than usual. You cannot have a great restaurant without a great staff, and it's almost impossible to find good people today! I noramally have the ribeye, but tonight I had the porterhouse steak, and I ordered it rare with a warm central. The filet side of the steak was perfect and delicious. It did have some hard to cut tendons, but that's normal for this cut. My mom loved her ribeye, but again she struggled to cut it, even with their huge steak knives they give you. She loved the flavor though, and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare that she ordered. My wife doesn't eat beef, so she had the strawberry chicken salad that she always loves. All in all we had our entire meal for less than half of the cost of just what a single steak costs at the supposedly best locations, and we had appetizers and an extra side of asperges that was cooked perfectly. I was only disappointed in the fact that as a member of their site that I wasn't even offered a free dessert for being a member for several years. I didn't make a fuss about my birthday, but the table for 10 next to us got a free sundae for their birthday girl. I didn't need or want the extra calories, but the company backend should listen to this. As I said before I think this place is one of the best value restaurants you can find. You cannot best their 10.99 half pound burger lunch specials deal! I will be going to the Keg for the free entree that they offer for a birthday present. Pay attention Longhorn! And mind you, all 24 were men of appetite! Water glasses were never topped off. My Ceasar salad was great! Cold and properly dressed. I ordered the Salmon and Shrimp combo. I asked to upgrade from rice to Brussels Sprouts and a loaded baked potato. Potato was great. Check. Still got the rice, no sprouts. But with a group that size, I didn't want to distract the servers from delivering others' meals to fix my order. After food was delivered, nobody stopped back to check to see if things were right. My salmon was a bit over, but ok. The problem? Salt. Salt salt! Wayyyy over salted. Barely edible. The shrimp were over done and sticky. No towelette to clean my fingers like they give with ribs. No offer for desert. And when I mentioned at payment I was charged for the Brussels and didn't get them, it could only be corrected by a manager. It was absolutely fantastic. My husband also got a New York strip which he enjoyed but he was like that ribeye was banging.
