We were beyond satisfied with our experience at Black Angus. This was not my first time dining here, but overall, this was just a five out of five experience. We first started at the bar in which we enjoyed a couple of happy hour cocktails and the deals were fantastic, and the bartender did a great job of customizing the drinks with in the limits of the happy hour deals. After having two cocktails at the bar, we decided to go ahead and get comfortable in the main dining area. We got a booth because we really wanted to relax and enjoy our steak dinner. This was one of the first meals that we had after moving back to Phoenix, Arizona, and so we wanted to take comfort and sitting in a booth as compared to our temporary seats we have at our new home. For dinner, we ordered the combo meal for two which included one appetizer, two entrées that included side dishes, and one dessert to share. Overall, this was a fantastic deal. We had a snack before dinner and then we both got our own individual entrées. I got the ribeye (+$7) which was cooked to perfection. I'm not even sure if I've ever had a better cooked ribeye. It was absolutely fantastic. My husband also got a New York strip which he enjoyed but he was like that ribeye was banging. After our dinner, we shared the carrot cake, which was very moist and delicious. The frosting on the carrot cake was not overly sweet and it was right up our alley of finishing off the evening. Overall, we had a really good dinner here and we will be back to Black Angus, at least for happy hour and probably to get some more of that steak. I'm not gonna lie. My first time trying Black Angus! My boyfriend has been before, but I haven't. I'm pescatarian so I wanted to try the lobster mac n cheese. It was pretty good! My boyfriend got the ribeye and lobster tails. He enjoyed his ribeye and the lobster tails were really tasty as well. Definitely pricey but it is a steakhouse so it's expected. They do have the campfire special which is pretty awesome- an appetizer with two entrees, four sides and a dessert for a great deal. Might try that next! Our server was great. It was a busy night and he took great care of us regardless. Cool vibes inside the restaurant, the bar area looked fun also. I have been living in Chandler now for 12 years and I have passed by this place numerous times but never stopped in. I just had surgery on my foot so after my husband and I left the doctors office my husband was craving a steak. We didn't feel like driving all the way up to Scottsdale so we decided to stop in the black Angus, and we both are thrilled that we did! I had the filet mignon and two lobster tails and a loaded baked potato. All three were delicious! My husband had the ribeye and some garlic and crab mashed potatoes and he loved it as well! Our server was Kalisa and she was simply outstanding! This was my first time going to black Angus, but it certainly will not be my last time! We've visited many Black Angus Steakhouses across the country for many, many years including this location with the utmost delight. We are beef people! Black Angus Steakhouse - Chandler is no exception apart from one... my wife and I believe it stands above and beyond its siblings in the Valley. In our many visits here, we've had the opportunity of trying many of their offering which have included: Filet Mignons; Ribeyes; Sirloins, New York Strips; and their Prime Rib. Burgers galore! We love the fact that they have a tremendous offering of delectable appetizers and sides that include: fab Fried Calamari; excellent Chicken Wings; terrific Loaded Steakhouse Fries; an incredible Garlic-Pepper Zucchini; and lets not forget the WOW Loaded Potato Skins. The one thing we've yet to try out, and is on our bucket list, is their terrific looking Brunch menu. It is virtually impossible nowadays to not find conglomerates operating restaurants that can actually provide 1) amazing service: 4 , 2) excellent attention to detail especially in hospitality: 4 , 3) cleanliness, hygiene and comfort in their décor, amenities and lavatories: 4 , 4) an abundant and/or varied food and/or product menu: 5 , 5) consistently appetizing offerings: 4 , 6) a sincere customer service: 4 , 7) unique, innovative or specialized menus: 4 , 8) value and price of meals: 3 , and most of all, 9) the inert desire of one wanting to return, again and again for the experience gained: 4 . At our most recent meal here, we started our evening very simply with their Berry Sangria and a Mug of Stella. Our appetizer was the fab Spinach and Artichoke with their combo of Parmesan, Jack and cream cheeses under a thin crumb covering, and served nice and warm tortilla chips. Perfect! For our main courses my wife decided on an order of an 8 oz Trii-Tip. This triangular cut of beef from the bottom sirloin is known for its rich flavor, tender texture, and relatively lean composition, and this cut is not often prepared properly, but here their method gives the steak the chance to show its glory. My selection was (my fave) 8 oz Prime perfectly prep'd at medium rare, impeccably seasoned with Black Angus' exquisite rub, seared then most appropriately and roasted along with incredible au jus and with a choice of one of two horseradish sauces - delicate, flavorful and an incredible aroma. Black Angus has really gone downhill from what it used to be. The ambience feels like Luby's cafeteria, with bright overhead lighting and large cafeteria style rooms. This place is barely a step above Golden corral. We each ordered the filet with the two sides, meat was definitely poor quality, they did the best cooking it that they could, so can't complain about how it was cooked but it was so thin. And tough, not tender like you would expect a filet to be. Reminded me of when you order a steak for breakfast at Denny's! The broccoli was overcooked and mushy. Back in the day Black Angus used to be the place to go go for a nice steak dinner. We definitely should have gone across the street to the keg. We spent over $95 on two filet dinners, one cocktail and one dessert. And that's exactly the amount of money we would have expected to spend for that type of meal, except the quality and quantity of the food does not match the pricing. Aside from the bright lighting and large round chandeliers suspended from the ceiling making it feel like a cafeteria, the place felt dirty and old. I don't think Black Angus is going to be around for long, I think this place is on its way out. It wasn't even busy when we were there, and that should have been our first clue. Stay away from this place. I give this place zero stars... But yelp won't let me post this without putting at least one star. read more

Can't say that I've been to a black Angus in a decade. Several of them had closed in San Diego so my husband and I happen to be in the area the other day and decided to go check it out. We had a meal that was $69 for two people. It was you got to choose one appetizer and we chose jumbo shrimp and there were six ginormous shrimp along with a little horseradish with a bit of a kick! Then we were able to choose our entrée each my husband got roasted chicken and I got a ribeye. Both were fantastic. We both got to choose two sides so that was a total of four sides. We both had baked potato soup that was delicious! I also had a salad and my husband had macaroni and cheese and loved it! It also came with their brown bread that is to die for and then we were able to choose one dessert to share, and my husband chose the chocolate chip cookie skillet with ice cream. I can't express how much food this was! My husband and I ate half of our main entrée and took those home for dinner the next night! And decided to have the dessert while we were still there. Everything was excellent service was fantastic. If you haven't been there in a while, it's worth the stop by, especially for this deal! read more

The "butter" for our warm bread and for the loaded baked potato and the side of broccoli was NOT butter at all. It was a wiped Crisco-like in taste and texture There was no salt or seasoning in it at all. We being regular customers were not at all satisfied. It left a greasy taste and film in our mouth. They should really use real butter. And yes, we asked for real butter and the waitress brought the same thing only it was not whipped. It had the same greasy Crisco-like flavor. Yuck! read more

It has been years since we last ate at Black Angus. We decided to give it a try to celebrate our anniversary and were very pleasantly surprised. Our server, Kalli, was very attentive and made us feel at home. We chose their Campfire Feast and started with crab cakes as our appetizer. I was expecting two small cakes, but they were both good sized and very tasty. We both upgraded to the prime rib and were served a 10 oz piece of delicious beef. Two stars is being very nice because the food was ok. The service was terrible. My boyfriend and I wanted to enjoy a dinner we didn't cook and we saw the Campfire Feast deal at Black Angus online. We sat at the bar and was not immediately greeted. In fact, it took over 5-7min for the bartender to even acknowledge us sitting there. Keep in mind, the bar area was empty, with us and two regular's. I ordered the $4 margarita deal, received my drink and then didn't see the bartender again for another several minutes. Once we finally got menus from the host stand we looked over what we wanted and was ready to order. Approximately 10min later we see the bartender again and she told us "I'll be back to take your order" and decieded to chat up some regulars are the bar and ignore us for another 5min. (At this point I wanted to leave but my boyfriend told me to just wait out, we're here already...pfff). We ordered, FINALLY, and the first course was the shrimp cocktail, it was good. The fish was cold and seemed fresh. Next our entrees came out. The chicken with my ribs was good, but the ribs were chewy. My boyfriends ribeye looked grey and sketchy. It was also cold and over cooked. He wanted medium and it was cooked medium well. Wouldn't matter though, because not ONCE did our bartender EVER come back to ask us how our food was? Was everything prepared to our liking? Did we need anything? We were hungry, so we ate it. Lastly we got our crème brûlée and it was very over cooked and tasted like egg. Wouldn't matter though....STILL never saw our bartender again. We were so over it and finally ready to leave, especially since all our plates were staking up in front of us (there is nothing like staring at old shrimp tails as you eat over cooked crème brûlée). She finally came back, gave us our check and that was it. No refilled drinks, didn't ask how anything was. Some of the worst customer service we've EVER had before. I popped in this evening to use a Groupon I got for the campfire feast with app, entree, 2 sides and dessert. My bartender Sahra was lovely, everyone was very friendly and helpful. I started with the crispy hot honey brussel sprouts to start. I got the sauce on the side and was very happy I did. The sprouts were a bit oily as is and the sauce was thick and sweet with a kick. I ordered steak sauce with mine. Very generous portion. The wedge salad was perfect with blue cheese bubble crumbles and blue cheese dressing. The chilled fork was a lovely touch. I ordered the NY strip Pittsburgh style with the plain baked potato and upgraded to an iceberg wedge salad. The steak was prepared perfectly. A side of raw horseradish was the perfect accent. And finally, I ended with carrot cake (to go!). It's called spices but it is just a regular, delicious carrot cake! They are not kidding calling this a feast! I am full, happy, and young home with leftovers. Really wonderful experience all around, and appreciated also seeing the manager jump right in and help his teams. Great job everyone read more

Went here for Father's Day dinner and our server Kali C was highly inattentive. This was our first time at black angus. We usually do Texas Roadhouse for the reliability and consistent top notch customer service, but we wanted to try something different. Disappointed is an understatement. We were waiting awhile after we got our drinks, to put in our food order. Our appetizer came out 30 mins after ordering (which I can understand, it's a holiday, although it wasn't very packed). She also didn't ask if we wanted more bread or needed anything else, we asked for more bread after flagging her down, which seemed to be the common theme, since she didn't initiate any service. When the food finally came, at least 30 minutes after the appetizer, she never asked about refills or how the food was, we had to ask for refills. She passed by our table at least 5 times after we got our food and started two new tables, with sufficient amount of time in between, without checking on any of her other ones. She had many opportunities to approach us, but refused to do her job correctly. It's also my understanding that if the food is delayed, it's the servers job to communicate with their table(s) about that, and apologize for the inconvenience. After our food, I had to remind her about our dessert orders that came with our meals, I also had to ask for the check, which wasn't brought when I asked for it to be. The food was pretty good, although we waited a long time and the service was insufficient and lacking. When she dropped off the bill finally, she said nothing and immediately went to the table behind us, and proceeded to have a laid back conversation with them, about her son. I mean, the busboy visited our table more than she did. Another important thing to mention is that the booth we were sat in had the recent customers bill, which indicates to me that it was not cleaned before the next party was sat. There were also two flies that kept swarming around us the whole time and the seats had visible crumbs, as well as the back cushions. I don't ever do reviews, in fact, this is my first one, and am an open minded and understanding person, but our service tonight was unacceptable. Terrible ordering system online, small portions even the wedge salad which I paid extra for is very small, ordering system requires tip even though there is no value add, had to go pick it up inside myself and there was nobody even in the Togo area. Just saw my order and left, no human contact at all. The upside order was ready when it said it would be and arrived on time, which is why I do not understand why it's cold. Put notes in the order for utensils and none were provided. After I finish this will go get some McDonalds so I don't starve. read more

The roasted chicken that we waited half an hour for to be "ready made" was a joke. It was the size of my hand for the entire "half a roasted chicken". It was dry and took 30 minutes to prepare, probably should have taken 10 to 15 minutes to keep it moist. More like a baby Cornish hen than half of a chicken. Happy hour menu is not accurate to what their website shows, it's a xerox copy that it stains all over it, that has seen better days. It was very slow with no one in the bar but service was well over an hour and slow. We sat near the window to have a little bit of sunlight. Afterwards, complained to the manager about terrible food value and he just smiled and nodded his head the whole time saying that is the kind of chicken that we serve. We were here almost 2 months ago and left rave reviews because everything was super. This time it feels like they are going out of business. No one here and entry board still has last Sunday info. The steak and crab were presented as if. the crab was to be served over the steak and looks presentable, as well as, appetizing! Awesome experience here on Thursday evening! We were greeted and sat immediately upon arrival. Service was fast and kind. We ordered the Camp Fire meal which includes: 1 appetizer, 2 entrees with your choice of steaks and 2 sides, chicken or shrimp, and 1 dessert. To start, we ordered chicken tenders (for our toddler). They came out very hot and tasted great! For my entree, I ordered a NY strip with a garden salad and French fries. My boyfriend ordered shrimp with mashed potatoes and a garden salad as well. We enjoyed all of our food -- my steak was cooked perfectly too! This is a rare occurrence for me even at the best steakhouses. For dessert, we wanted the mud pie but it was sold out. Instead, we ordered the fudge cake and it was delicious! It is a fudge, chocolate cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It also came with a side of fudge. My steak was cooked perfectly but was kinda tough and had lots of gristle running through it. I brought my husband here for a nice Veterans Day meal. I expected it to be busy so I made a reservation early this morning for 6pm. We show up and the worker told us it's going to be 15-20 minutes past your reservation time is that okay? Fine I used to work in the restaurant business, I understand it's busy. 30 minutes pass and we don't hear anything so we decide to leave because we had a fussy toddler. 41 minutes past our reservation time I receive an email saying my reservation was cancelled by the restaurant. What? Why was it cancelled when I wasn't notified/called first. I specifically asked the man at check in (bald white man) who I was assuming was a manager, will you text me when the table is ready? He said yes. Like I said I never received a single text before my reservation was just cancelled with no explanation. If they were calling names out loud, they should've counted for the crowd of people standing outside waiting for their table who wouldn't be able to hear them from inside. 100% honest we have been here before but I noticed they had a Groupon so we got one and enjoyed it today. Paid $60, the campfire meal for 2 is regularly $69 as of today. You choose: 1 app- we chose chicken strips (no salad option) 2 entrees - we chose 2 NY strip 12oz steaks 4 sides - mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, green beans and a garden salad. 1 dessert- NY cheesecake Plus we had a 9oz glass of wine and a greyhound. The total before Groupon was $98 and change. WOW, where can you get all this for this price even without the Groupon!! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the server did not give us the service we saw her give at the booths around us (we sat at the bar) they got seen 3/4 times over and we got 1 time even tho we were the only ones seated at the bar. She was nice tho and so maybe it's because I told her we had a Groupon at the start and it set the service down a bit...but regardless tips are based on service and not how much the food costs IMO.
