Not as good as it used to be. I wasn't impressed with this visit. There was to much confusion and nobody seemed to know what was going on or what to do. The host was supposed to bring silverware and a high chair to the table. We had to ask for the high chair and ended up going upfront to get our own silverware from the basket. Our waitress was very polite and nice; but was so overwhelmed with her 2 tables. This place wasn't busy at all and for the few tables that were in here the speed of service was terrible. I should have taken a picture but the wait staff in our section wasn't taking dirty dishes back, they were just dumping them on a large table in the corner. It looked tacky and was just pure laziness. My meal was not that great and I was not at all impressed. Order: Lunch specials Fried catfish with a baked potato Shrimp scampi with mashed potatoes Grilled flounder with cauliflower au gratin Kids meal - popcorn shrimp w fries. Chocolate milk to drink. My meal was the catfish and potato so that's what I'll talk about. The catfish had a very strong fishy taste. I've never had catfish that potent before. I really like Red Lobster. I may sing a different tune since we're about to visit the Big Easy where seafood is abundant and fresh. But Red Lobster always hits the spot for a seafood craving. I really enjoyed my shrimp scampi and mashed potatoes for lunch. And those biscuits are so good. The mashed potatoes would be a little plain but I doused them in my leftover scampi sauce and I loved that! My daughter got the popcorn shrimp kids meal. I don't think she even noticed it was something she's never had before. She really enjoyed her fries, too. She got ketchup and honey mustard sauce. Sadly giving Red Lobster 3 stars. One because we were supposed to have a 15 minute wait and it turned out to be 30 to 45 minutes. There was people leaving because of the wai time. But, our Server was so nice, helpful, and patient about everything. We tried the crab stuffed shrimp Rangoon. It was okay, wasn't hot coming out and not the kind of Rangoon we are used to. But, it was still good. You could taste the crab and shrimp which was a good thing. We ordered crab legs and the Bar Harbor Lobster bake. They were all good. I didn't realize the lobster was a pasta dish but, it was really good! I couldn't finish it all and ended up bringing the rest home. The down side is that our entrees were not hot or even nice and warm. We feel like our food set in the window in the kitchen for a bit. At least the cheddar bay biscuits were hot, thank goodness! I'm giving it 3 stars because the food was good but service was absolutely terrible. My waiter took forever to even come to our table, and once he did, never introduced himself. He asked did we have any questions about the menu, we asked what drinks were included in the 5 dollar drinks he said these 4 drinks which he pointed at the menu and walked away, and left for another 10 minutes. He didn't ask if we wanted anything other to drink than water which he just brought to the table or anything. When he finally did comeback and take the other he said I'll bring biscuits, this man brought back 2 biscuits. Like literally one each. And then never came back. Different waiters brought our food back which isn't really a problem but when I finally did get ahold of him and told him I'd like a Pepsi he brought me one back with no ice and it was half full . Not sure what was his problem today. The other waiters were amazing, they brought us silverware and napkins which we didn't have at our table. We should have known something was up when we noticed the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Nevertheless, the hostess sat us near the bar. We placed our order, and for not being busy, it took about 25 minutes before Carly S., the waitress, delivered our meals. I ordered the lobster & chedder bay stuffed shrimp meal. And it had to be a special occasion to go, like my grandmother's birthday. As an adult, I have learned that Red Lobster is just the seafood version of Olive Garden and I can go on any given day of the week if I'd like. My sister-in-law and I like to go together. One of us can usually manage to find a coupon in an email or from the newspaper so we can get a few bucks off our entrees. On weekends it gets pretty busy and there tends to be a wait. If you're there by 5:30 on a weeknight, you'll get sat right away. We always load up on the free Cheddar Bay biscuits because they are life. All entrees come with a salad to start too, so save your money, there's no need for an appetizer. Most recently we visited during Lobsterfest, but usually my choice for dinner will definitely include a Maine lobster tail. For living in the midwest, this seafood tastes pretty good--at a pretty decent price. Our server was cordial and efficient. He took good care of us while we dined. I've never gotten desert here. I'd like to meet someone that has. After all the cheddar biscuits, salad, and an entree that comes with 2 sides, who has the room? I drive the few extra miles to the location on Polaris Parkway because the food is better, atmosphere better and overal quality better than the one located on Dublin Granville rd. I ordered delivery. It was a mistake. The food arrived on time with no issues, however, I felt for the price I paid it was not a good value at all. The description of quinoa in the shrimp bowl failed to mention it would be 99% white rice and 1% quinoa. The black beans were straight out of the can; no salt and cold. Of course, I had to have the Endless Shrimp, which used to be seasonal but is everyday now. The Polaris Red Lobster is the first I have ever been to of a Red Lobster. I would always hear about how their food was great including their cheddar bay biscuits. My first meal here I got was the four course feast deal that is $15.99. Oh my this was bliss at first bite. I couldn't believe you could order soup, salad, main course and dessert for just that price, it was unbelievable! I remember my first meal comprised of the chicken tortilla soup, fresh garden salad, wood grilled tilapia and then a brownie. I was so full just after the salad. Still I couldn't wait to try the tilapia and brownie and of course it didn't fail for me. I make a lot of fish at home so my expectations for any restaurant with seafood is high and this met my standard of good seafood. The servers are always nice here and I also like their Bahama Mama drink here but I have to blame my fiancee for getting me hooked to that drink after coming back from Florida where we would just have that drink at the resort every night. One thing I'm most proud to share is Red Lobster has changed me for the better and now I have stepped out and tried new things I would not normally eat. This includes their New England Clam Chowder that I tried the other night and thought it was good. All I have to say is this: Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Every time I have eaten at this location, it is almost never busy. So why, oh why, do I have to wait to get refills? That's just crazy. Food is pretty good, though I generally stay with shrimp. I am not really a fan of seafood, but shrimp is a win every time. I also like their garden salads, though if you get a salad with your meal, always ask for the dressing on the side, otherwise, your lettuce will be swimming. They have really good potato soup as well. The 4 course meal is probably their best option - why not only pay $16.99 for soup, salad, entrée (+1 side) and dessert. It was an impressive value, but there were a few slight hiccups. Red Lobster has family meal deals for carry out right now. We ordered the salmon package which contained 4 pieces of salmon, two sides (mashed potatoes and baked potatoes for us as there were limited options). We added on a lobster dip. Salad did not appear to be available as part of the deal. The ordering process was a pain. It was fine taking the gift card, which was for two cents less than the total order, however adding a tip was impossible as it would not accept a second form of payment. When I arrived the front door was locked. A frazzled greeter opened in a few moments and directed me to the bar to pick up my order. Hand sanitizer was available in the entry. I noticed there were no lobsters in the tank. The seating was properly socially distanced for eat in guests. I quickly got my order and patiently explained the concept of a cash tip to the bar tender. I feel the masks hindered communication a bit. I wondered why we didn't do curbside pickup, but again the app did not make this seem like something available. The sign for it thrown in a Lowe's bucket felt like an afterthought. When we got home the meal was still warm and was mostly as expected. The chips for the dip seemed lower quality than normal, constantly breaking when putting on topping, it detracted a bit from the creamy lobster flavor. Yes prices have gone up which is completely understandable IF the quality remains somewhat similar. Had a wonderful experience here on Saturday. It was my middle son's birthday and he specifically requested to come to Red Lobster. After taking all our kids to see Black Panther, we called here (because they have call ahead seating) to see what the wait time was (45min) and to have our names added to the list. We arrive and are told we have a wait time of only about 10 minutes (AWESOME SAUCE)! Within the 10 minutes we are called to our table and greeted immediately by our server (young guy with glasses and tattoos on his arms). He takes our drink & food orders & returns promptly with our drinks. He tells us the kitchen's a little busy and it may take a little longer than normal for our food to come out. No problem. Within about 15 minutes our food is out and tastes great. (If you like spicy food and haven't tried the Dragon Shrimp, try it. You will love it.) Because it's my son's birthday, he received a complimentary scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce (they even brought my daughter one even though it wasn't her birthday). He devoured it.
