Subpar seafood joint. Overpriced for the quality of food and service. Nothing to write home about.

Not the best seafood out there, which I imagine is pretty known. But I do love the quality for the price! And at this specific location, the atmosphere is wonderful and always bustling with business. I love the combo deals that they always offer that allow you to choose more than one item. I think that's one of the best things about red lobster. You can get one meal that comes with a lobster tail, crab legs and shrimp scampi. read more

Red Lobster's always a great place to eat but it seems the Polaris location goes above and beyond. It's a really clean place, beautiful inside, good seating with booths and tables. Plenty of parking outside. The waitress was friendly, asked for refills often and helped me out when my burger came out tasting not too good. She asked if she could get me something else free of charge but I was full from the appetizers and declined. That's when the house manager came out, sat down with us and was extremely polite and apologetic over the burger not tasting well, which wasnt a big deal to me but I really appreciated how he cared for the satisfaction of his customers. The lobster tasted great, as well as the shrimp. Red Lobster doesn't disappoint. They also included two big bags of the cheddar biscuits before we left to take home. read more

While we are always fans of The Red Lobster, this dinner visit last night was really just at Par, so to speak. My boys got their favorite, popcorn shrimp with orange slices and ended with a cherry slush...no complaints there! My husband got endless shrimp (another family favorite) and this is where things got a little lack luster. The sriracha honey shrimp sounded amazing, so that was choice #1. The shrimp was crispy, the honey sweet, but where was that sriracha??? Either it was so mild we couldn't taste it, or they plum forgot it. Either way that got a 3 out of 5 for approval. Next the regular fried shrimp was, "eh," at best. The coating was soggy. Enough said there. Then came his teriyaki grilled shrimp, now we are taking. Delicious!! Finally, shrimp scampi. Just delicious as usual. Now for me, I got the half portion of grilled rainbow trout with the tomato - cilantro topping (forgive me, I forget what they actually called it) baked potato (the best), green beans (great-crisp and buttery!) and a side salad (I think they've changed their ranch again because it was much better than the last time I had it when it was incredibly mayonnaisy ). Serving size was great, but this tomato cilantro thing comes out and it's not tomato at all, it's pineapple with red peppers. So I ask the server and she tries to tell me it's correct and I assure her the item plainly said "tomato and cilantro," not pineapple and red pepper. She returns with pico de gallo. Now, I like pico, but this is also not what I expect. There had to be some form of miscommunication going on or they had no idea what is even on their menu. Went here for Mother's Day last night. The place was packed! It was just her and I and we were told a 30 minute wait, which is understandable. Not even 5 minutes later, our buzzer buzzed and we were sat. We order two apps, the sweet chili shrimp and the scrimp&lobster sub. The sub was very small for the price ($10) but it had good flavor. The shrimp though, they were awesome. Sweet with just enough kick. I had chicken tacos which I really liked. The slaw and sauce were very tasty. Mom had the admiral platter. She couldn't finish it all, but what she didn't take home, she said was very well cooked and was good. She also had a mudslide, she thought it was "so damn good!" Lol. I cannot remember our waitress name, but she was very professional. I barely saw her only because we didn't need her, but when we did need her, she was available and friendly. I'm not a big seafood fan, especially red lobster, but it was Mother's Day and that's what Mom wanted ha. Overall, I was very pleased with our experience and we both left happy. read more

Great customer service from Start to finish is all I have say otherwise I'd write a book. If I could give her 20 stars I would. A family member gave us a Darden gift card. I am not a fan of chain restaurants-- and I'll be honest-- I'm kind of a food snob so the idea of dining at Red Lobster isn't necessarily my cup of tea. BUT we were pleasantly surprised. Our service was excellent--the hostess was professional. The restaurant was crowded so we opted to eat at the bar. The bartender was great! She was clearly working hard filling drink orders but was attentive. The ambiance at Red Lobster is pretty impressive. I feel like they've done a great job making the restaurants feel more upscale and boutique. My food was sub-par. Lots and lots of butter. I ordered the sampler platter (lobster, fish and shrimp) and roasted Brussels sprouts. Everything was good-ish, but as a health-conscious person, I was concerned by the grease/butter. Bottom line: Will I be back? I still don't think I would choose to eat at Red Lobster-- but this location does have excellent service and a great atmosphere. read more

Good chain eating Had a gift card for Red Lobster so checked this one out. I was surprised at how busy it was being as we went around 5pm on a Saturday. Because it was rather crowded I decided to just sit at the bar. The bartender that served me was pretty busy, but still did a good job. Had the lobster artichoke dip for a starter. It was pretty tasty, the cheddar biscuits were the best I had experienced to date from Red Lobster. I was digging fried food for some reason so I simply had breaded shrimp with fries. I want to start out saying, "i'm a big fan of red lobster and lover there shrimp and lobster fest." On Thursdays March 22 2018, My mother took me to the red lobster at 1270 Polaris Pkwy, Columbus, OH 43240. On March 24 was my birthday so my mother decide to take me out for my birthday meal. The person who was are waitress was the nicest person in the world. The food was so so good and never had one issue about anything. The next days my mother and I got a cold and we are still fighting that cold to this day. All of last year i never got a cold even when many of my fellow co-works still decide to come in sick. i'm always around places that go from hot to cold thru out the day. I've been very lucky when it comes to getting colds i might get out once every few years. It's very odd for two healthy people to enter a restaurant and both come out sick the next day. read more

Was sat quickly. Figured since I was there at 445 it would just be ok. Lobster bisque was out quick and hot. Biscuits were good and warm and tasty. Shrimp was a little over cooked but still had good flavor. My server was awesome. Had my drink filled before it was empty which in my mind is the perfect service. Deceptive and misleading! We hate waiting so we booked a 6:15 reservation on Open Table and arrived a few minutes early. Hostess told us to wait in our car for a txt. After waiting 40 minutes, I called and asked why our table wasn't ready. They said, "we don't actually take reservations - when you book on Open Table that's not a reservation but the time we put you on the wait list for first-come-first-serve - you are now second on the waiting list." Red Lobster should not be allowed to book through Open Table. I could have gotten a real reservation elsewhere had I known it was bait-and-switch! If you want seafood, go to Polaris Grill or Bonefish Grill. Boycott Red Lobster for tricking customers into thinking they have a reservation when they don't! read more

We visited this Red Lobster on a quiet Monday night around eight o'clock. The restaurant was dark with nice lights on each table. We sat in a booth which was great for two but would be tight with four. We were hungry and we ordered right away. We split a big seafood platter and some crab legs. I thought everything tasted pretty fresh, everything was cooked well. It was fun to snack on a big pile of seafood. Our server was Kevin, he did a terrific job. There are 2 Red Lobster locations approximately the same distance from our home and we go to the one we are closest to while we are out. They are both excellent. The food is always good and they both seem to get the cream of the crop for wait staff. The staff is always cheerful and attentive. We like to have fun and tend to tease and joke where ever we go and the staff at Red Lobster jumps right in and enjoy themselves too. If you like good food, good people and good fun, this is one of the places to go. read more

I am writing this review because I didn't even get served by anyone in the restaurant. My boyfriend and I decided to sit at the bar because it was pretty busy for an actual table. I understand that places get busy, however there were three different staff members working the bar and in the 20 minutes we sat there not one staff member greeted us or asked us if we would even like a water while we waited. I ordered food, got a confirmation email, even called in to verify, waited 45 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, called again, they had no idea what I was talking about, and then they told me it was just sitting on the counter. First of all we didn't get any silverware when we were first sat. Nor did we get crab crackers and the tiny fork when we ordered crab legs. We had to ask for them. The floors were atrocious, just covered with food, trash, drink coasters, and dropped silverware. There were several employees standing around talking when they could have been cleaning it up and bussing tables. There was even trash outside of the front entrance. The men's room was flooded with disgusting water on the floor. Our first server didn't even smile and was not very friendly. She did get cut and passed us along to a different server who was very sweet and we appreciated her kindness and tipped her accordingly. The food was good but the crab legs were cold. It's been a while since I've tried Red Lobster and this visit reminds me of why. Visited just before noon today and found very few customers in. Our server, Josh, was not well versed in the specials but tried hard and was pleasant. Ordered the soup and salad combo for 2. After a while Josh informed me they were out of Lobster Bisque (the main reason I had decided to go to Red Lobster). Subbed the Clam Chowder. Prolonged wait. Soup was watery and had few chunks of potato/veggies and no recognizable clams. It had a pronounced "fishy" smell. Subbed again with the Potato soup for a second bowl. Much better. Hot, creamy and lots of chunks. Finally reacquired contact with Josh and got the bill. For an almost empty restaurant it was slow, poor, and prolonged. read more

Been here before and it is usually very much similar to other ones. Tonight they underperformed.... Completely overlooked lobster tail that my wife couldn't finish. This marks the first time in our 18 year marriage that I have EVER seen her leave a SCRAP of lobster from ANY dish on her plate. Quick, and when the picture of the sweet potato (it actually was like puree baby food), our waitress brought a regular baked potato, no questions asked. Usually we have very good experiences when we dine-in at the Sawmill location, but don't expect to get any assistance if you call with questions. My fiance was hung up on twice by a manager before he could even say anything upon being transferred, and then when he finally got to speak with someone they were extremely rude and quick to hang up. All we wanted to know if a certain method of payment would work (which never even got answered, mind you), haha. Anyway, I work customer service too, so I get that it can be stressful, but this seemed just a bit excessive. read more

Well, this location is a good one. The place seemed packed, but speed of service was no problem. Bathroom was clean. Plenty of parking. While preparing to write this review, I tried to think of something that was wrong with my visit to Red Lobster just so I could throw it in.....BUT it was the best experience ever! The family and I went for lunch and expected a long wait. By the time I dropped my husband off at the door with the kids, parked the car and walked in.. He was already seated, Great! Our server came over shortly after and took our drink orders. My son didn't like his shirley temple that we ordered. With no hesitation the server asked what he could get him instead. He even said, he wouldn't charge us the difference in price. 2 thumbs up!! Hubby and I ordered the endless shrimp deal. Everything came out hot, fresh, and smelling wonderful. I chose the sweet and spicy shrimp over wild rice and fried shrimp. YUMMO! My husband had the fried shrimp and the scampi to start with. As the server put our plates down, he was already asking what our next order of shrimp would be so that we could avoid a wait between plates. He was right; as soon as I finished the first order of shrimp the next order was coming out. That continued more than a few times lol and each time they were fresh and prepared perfectly. He kept our drinks full and came back several times to check on my children. We sent him on a few napkin and honey mustard runs. Each time he had a smile and even a few jokes for the kids. Came in today for lunch, not very busy at all. Our sever was very friendly though she wasn't very educated on the menu, specials, or products. Food came out promptly , and was very good. Portions did seem a bit small for the price. While eating I was looking around and noticed that many of the employees were not groomed well, hair was messy and hanging down . I witnessed a waitress' hair laying in the bread basket as she walked around and the woman working the bar used her hand to pack in the shave ice in the cup for a margarita , no glove or spoon. Cleanliness could be better and employees defiantly need to know the proper ways to handle food and drinks. read more

Since we are far from the sea, I normally only get seafood on vacation. But a craving sometimes requires satisfying so we headed to Red Lobster. While two other Columbus locations have proven themselves to be less than underwhelming this particular restaurant was pretty good. The crab on linguine with alfrado sauce was rich and creamy as I like it which was a step up from runny sauces I've had in the past. The cheddar biscuits were hot and delicious as always....but the entrees left a lot to be desired. Small shrimp, cold-ish crab, and everything just tastes microwaved. Had the pleasure of coming here with my mother and kids this evening for one of my favorite meals that I only get once a year. It was dinner time so as expected it was a little busy but not crowded or packed with a wait. Eventhough it was dinner time it and not too packed it still took 30-40 mins to get our food. I'm a patient person so I didnt complain. I ordered the surf and turf with steak and lobster tail which is one of their more pricey dinners. This was the first time I couldnt finish my lobster tail because it was terribly over cooked. I let the waitress know that the lobster was over cooked and she did offer a new one but I didnt want it because I probably wouldnt be able to eat it. I do not like to complain but because the meal was so expensive I feel like I needed to. To my surprise when we got the bill we were still charged full price. I feel that when something like lobster tail is over cooked, uneaten, and refused a new one I should not of had to pay for that portion of my meal which was about $12-$15 dollars. Especially since you're a place that specializes in lobster and seafood. We will not be back anytime soon and if we ever go back we will definitely skip the Polaris location read more

Very, very busy on Sat. night. This is a very nicely furnished Red Lobster in the upscale Polaris area just north of Columbus. Service was excellent and very friendly. We waited at the bar about 40 mins for a table. Was worth the wait! I had a half order of the special of the day... grilled salmon on a bed of wild rice with teriyaki and wasabi sauce. Perfect combination and the salmon was cooked perfectly. My son had the fisherman's platter with lobster, sauted shrimp, crab legs, stuffed shrimp and I don't know what else since there was so much food. Everything on his plate was cooked 'just right' no over or under cooking. Coming from Maine we know when Lobster is done right! read more

Red Lobster has gone way down hill over the years!!! Went recently after about 5 years and I see why I haven't been back. I ordered the Admiral's Feast and everything tasted like something I could have bought in the frozen section at a grocery store. My girlfriend ordered some kind of flounder stuffed with crab meat and some other items and the fish was super soggy, disgusting! On a good note, our waiter was very good, very polite, very fast and on point. Facility was clean and seemed super sanitary. Never going back though. read more
