We recently went to the Modesto CA location for our Son's birthday. 2 of the orders were for Shrimp - choose 3. We were charged for unlimited Shrimp on both orders and never received either side order (frys). The server never came to check on us until we were finished eating. No drink refills or to resolve the issue missing sides. I called within a couple of hours of leaving to try to resolve and spoke to Erica who apologized and agreed to credit my account but that never happened. If I could give them zero stars I would. While the charge in error and missing frys was likely only worth Around $20+ or so of a $146 bill, they should have credited me at least $40-$50 for all the issues we went through. Terrible service especially considering we arrived early and they were not very busy. In addition, the manager was too busy to take my call. Update: After I challenged the charge on my credit card, Red Lobster credited my card $21.77 which is about the amount of the overcharge. read more

My crab legs were covered in leach eggs. Basically parasites. The manager came out and asked what was wrong? I told him my crab legs were covered in parasites. He looked at the plate, picked it up and walked off. Didn't say anything at all to me. Very rude! Like dude don't be irritated at me because the crab legs I was served were covered in parasites. After he walked off I sat there for a while waiting for someone to come back. My server eventually came back over and asked if the manager had came out yet? I said yes he came over, picked up my plate and walked off without saying anything. I then told her I didn't know what he was gonna do but I was ready to go. She said he discounted my meal. Everytime I go to Red Lobster I like even less. This last time, we were given a 45 minute wait. I went into the bar to have a beer. I sat at a table next to the bar and was immediately told that unless I ordered food I couldn't just have a beer. The bar area was deserted except the bar stools. I went outside as there was no other seating inside. People and more people waiting to be seated. Is this any way to treat your guests? When our party of five finally seated (in the bar) we found they have changed their menu. The Loster Fest changed. NO CRAB LEGS. And terribly expensive. Idk how this place only has 3 starts... First of all Jordon our server was awesome he gave us time to decide what we wanted and was on his A game. Made sure we always had bread and a full cup. Even if the food was bad we would come back for the good service. Second the food was delicious.. stuffed mushrooms so yummy! My husband doesn't like mushrooms but he tried one and enjoyed it. Don't order Take Out! Ordered two ultImate feasts and they forgot the lobster tails! Paid $20 to Uber eats for delivery plus $73 for the food just to not get lobster!! Worst crab I ever ate! The texture was like mush. You could not even crack the shell the whole thing would bend. I used a fork and a knife to cut into the shell and I still could not pull out a whole solid piece of crab because it was mush inside the shell. Very disappointing! Especially because the only reason I went because it's their crab fest if that's their specialty right now it should be fresh and good! A couple sitting at a table aside from me had the same problem. She asked me what the trick was to get into the crab because the shell would not crack...just bend. I told her I didn't even eat it...it's mush. Husband and I came on a Tuesday night for date night. Our food came out cold and our steaks came out well done when asked to be medium rare. Food was so cold that it tasted awful. Couldn't finish it. When brought up with the waiter, the waiter had to go back and forth with us and the manager. The waiter was made to be the middle man instead of the manager coming out to handle it. The manager only came out after 10 mins and her immediate response was why we didn't tell the waiter we were on a time crunch when we said we needed to get going. The oyster did not get me sick, it was a risk but I love oyster! Not sure where they came from but definitely not from the north east coast. The lobster bisque must be from a bag from corporate kitchen, it has taste of cream and some artificial lobster flavor, definitely not made onsite from the ground up. I realize that we are in a pandemic but I just spent $90 for two meals an appetizer and dessert and I am so disappointed. I called to place an order and the girl on the phone was very nice and took my order correctly as she read it back to me. My side salad is a box of lettuce and a side of ranch. My dessert was supposed to to be a warm apple crostata with a side of ice cream. The crostata was frozen and I did not receive any ice cream at all. Went in with a party of 5 on today 11/1/2023 around 3:30pm. It wasn't particularly busy and seemed decently staffed. Once we sat, our server was m.i.a for probably 10 or so minutes. We waited awhile to even get drinks, had to ask for silverware and they didn't even have enough on hand for all 5 of us and had to go roll more. We also had to ask for biscuits which we didn't receive until well after our apps/soups/drinks came. Having to ask for things, sometimes multiple times, that are usually a given, was a common theme during the visit. Our initial server, while nice enough, wasn't checking in often, and never took our order for entrees. Thankfully a different server eventually took over and saved the day, to the best of her ability! Once she took our order, tracked down biscuits, got us refills and started to clear dishes (she was playing a game of catch up at this point) our food finally came out, only for one of the people at our table to find a very long white/light blonde hair in their food. We were given a discount and the food was remade but of course this extended our stay even longer. All told it took just over 2 hours for us to eat our meal. Shoutout to our second server Taylor for being super friendly, making up for lost time, trying her best to make things right and just generally staying on top of things once she took over! It made a bad experience more bearable! SHE should be the manager because it seems like she actually knows how to get things done. I place blame on the management for not properly staffing, keeping things on track or keeping their employees on top of tasks that should be maintained (like having utensils ready throughout the day) regularly. Overall I would NOT recommend this location to anyone, I've scarcely had a worse overall experience at a sit down restaurant before. Maybe we caught them on an off day given that the overall rating is decent, but this will be our first and last time at this particular location. The food was excellent (tasted better than the Red Lobster in Chula Vista where I live--too salty at this location) and the service was excellent. Justin was our server and he was pleasant, friendly, and professional. The manager came in to check on us and we only had compliments and absolutely no complaints. You might ask. It was just ok. I'm not a fan of how they butterfly the lobster tail. It was very dry. Keeping in one piece would have been much better. When the waiter showed up with some of our appetizers, he dropped half of the cheese sticks. By the time he came back with the rest of them we were half done with our dinner. The Sirloin was tough and tasteless and the lobster tail was dry. I'll not return and cannot recommend it anyone else. read more

Son and I usually go here for their all-you-can eat shrimp feast. We arrived around 5 PM on a Saturday and were seated after only about 15 minutes. We timed it just right, because when we left there were people waiting outside for what must have been at least an hour wait time. As for the food, it is pretty standard for this place, good not great. The salad and cheddar biscuits are always excellent, but the the shrimp re-orders always take too long to arrive and the fact that you can only order one type on each re-order is what keeps people sitting here too long! Waitress was a little slow on the drink re-fills (which seems to be the norm at this place). If you can get seating in the bar area (which is a nice room), then jump on it. Wait times are always long after 6 PM, so either get there before then or wait until after 9 PM! read more

Not such a great experience. Was 3/4 way through my snow crab legs when I discovered a large fly, dead, floating at the bottom of the dish. I lost my appetite after that. The only reason they get more than 0 stars after that travesty is our waiter, I believe his name was Justin. He was quite possibly the most genuinely happy and friendly person I've ever encountered.
