The broccoli was brown and slimy and when I told our server she just said "ok". I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done. My whole plate wasn't hot, it was barely warm. Drove to Red Lobster for a pleasant sea food dinner. We were told it would be 20-30 minutes to be seated. We went to the bar for a drink while we waited. There were empty tables all over the restaurant. We were told they were expecting large parties. As we waited, near the bar were a couple of out of control kids, screaming and some mechanical toy that kept roaring non stop. We struck up a conversation with the bartender. We said they better not try seating us near those kids...sure enough when it came time to be seated, guess where? I told them under no circumstance would we sit near them. By the way at no time did any large parties ever show up, including during the time we had our meal. Many people were made to wait at least 30+ minutes with many open tables. We were served our food and then had to ask for utensils and napkins...the broccoli was under cooked and service was greatly lacking. The booth we were seated in, the fabric was worn through. We've been there 4 times and have had severe issues twice...not a good track record. read more

Normally we really enjoy coming here for their shrimp and hot cheese biscuits but this time was mediocre at best. The positive points - the wait was short, the place was clean and the new decor was pleasant. Now for the not so good stuff..the waitress was not very friendly, and she got my order wrong twice. She did everything halfway like she didn't care. We ordered shrimp, fried & scampi. The fried was decent but the scampi was dry and had no flavor. Usually there is a wonderful garlic butter melted in the bottom of the dish but these had little to none. The mashed potatoes were barely warm. Very disappointing especially when the cost was $64 for 2 dinners and ice tea. I am glad that we had a $50 gift card we were able to use towards it. It will be awhile before we return. read more

I will never return to this red Lobster. The Waitresses charge you for things you did not order or have. When I discovered they had overcharged me I called the manager and he assured me he would refund the difference, but he never did. I was charged $121 for a $80 dollar bill. We went to Red Lobster after not coming for a while and we had the best service and a great meal! You never know when you go here .....sometimes it's great food and bad service or vice versa... this time we got right in, sat at a booth in the bar and our server JESSICA WAS AWESOME!!! Do NOT even bother with the "waitlist ". The hostess doesn't recognize or honor it. I signed on the waitlist 15 minutes before arriving at 5:15 pm . One single top "not on the list" signed in immediately before me and was seated in less than 5 minutes. I was told 10 minute wait and an HOUR later I never received a text message. I came to this Red Lobster location about 8 months ago and my food was not cooked to my expectations. I had ordered the surf and turf (rock lobster and steak) and asked for my steak to be medium rare. My steak wasn't just well done, it was CHARRED to the point where I couldn't even cut through it with a steak knife. The lobster was also very rubbery and dry. The server had sent in for a re-make of my order and this time my steak came out a bloody mess. I took home my steak meal and fed it to my dog. I had spoken to the manager here at the time over the phone because paying $90 for 2 meals that i ended up feeding to my dog wasn't acceptable.. the manager said she would send me a full refund with a gift card to come back.. i waited and waited and never received the gift card ‍ Today, I decided "what the heck.." and came back to try again for lunch. I saw a sign in the parking lot that said "Hiring Cooks Now" so maybe they hired new staff?? Wrong! The service was worse than the last time I visited. We were seated promptly, so I had a good feeling right off the bat that maybe JUST mayyybbbeee we would have a better experience. Once we were seated, it took 15 minutes before we were greeted by our server. We put in our order for our drinks and appetizer, which came out in a timely manner. Next, we ordered our entrees and a kids meal. Our food took roughly about 45 minutes before it came out and our kids meal never showed up. My wife and i were done eating before our server even came around and I had to flag her down to get service. We questioned her about the kids meal and she left and came back and said "oh, we're making it fresh for you right now!" We checked the electronic receipt on the table kiosk to see what we were charged for and the kids meal wasn't on there, thinking the waitress had taken it off for our inconvenience.. So, my wife attempted to swipe her card and it wasn't accepting the payment because SURPRISE, SURPRISE!! The waitress added the kids meal (that she forgot) to our bill! We took our kids meal to go, and our child is eating it in the car on our way home because we have an appointment that we're about to miss because of your terrible service! As much as I love lobster and it's hard to find good seafood around town, I don't think I'll be back to visit this location. Another $80 down the drain today. I'd rather take my $80, buy 2 bigger lobsters at Safeway and cook them myself... Smh. read more

So I came in with my fiancé for the endless shrimp deal. It was us and our son and we came in around 830pm. It took a while to get drinks and even longer to get out order put in. Our waitress informed us of all options for endless shrimp and that was nice since not all options are listed on the menu and our son ordered mac and cheese off the kids menu. Food comes out and my son took one bite and spit it out. He claimed the mac and cheese tasted like throw up (he is 8) and sure enough it not only tasted horrible but smelled bad as well. It took a while to get his order fixed and the shrimp we received was subpar as well. I'm not sure if the quality was because of the time we went in but overall we were really disappointed and don't think we will be returning. read more

We returned to Red Lobster tonight since we'd had such a great experience just 10 days ago; Bri was a fantastic waitress and Erika made the Long Islands perfectly. Tonight's visit was so disappointing. We got Bri again, and she is truly the nicest employee we observed. Unfortunately, the food wasn't very hot and the Long Island's were extremely weak and not worth the price (bartender was Sydney). The overall service seemed slow; while Bri was friendly (much appreciated), the restaurant seemed understaffed. Bri was kind enough to ask the bartender to change the tv channel to the college football national championship game, but Sydney never followed through. People hang out in the bars to watch sports, drink, and converse with other adults. To top off this evening, a friend of a server (she seemed to be handling to-go orders by the front door) came in with a young child and sat in the bar. We then got to enjoy the sounds of the child yelling and running back and forth to this employee while she was working and the gentleman who brought the child speaking loudly or across the room to the employee he came to visit. I can understand dealing with this at a low cost restaurant or in a family seating area. Now I am grasping why Red Lobster is no longer what it once was. This place could be hoppin' so much more by improving the consistency in quality, service, energy, and by improving the bar environment to attract those who like to indulge with great drinks, good sports channels, and engaging bartenders. This experience ultimately points to the effectiveness of the local leadership. Let me add that I give reviews for stellar service as well. For the visit ten days ago, I'd have given a 5 star review because of Bri's service, hot food, and Erika's outstanding Long Islands. For the visit during fall last year, I'd have given a 1 star review as I found a dead fly in my food and lost my appetite - no concessions were made. read more

Came in around 8 last night (Thursday) was greeted by and had received exceptional service by Sarah. She would check up on us in a timely manner to make sure we were doing okay while waiting for my mom. My dad and I had been waiting for my mom until about 9:30, so Sarah introduced us to one of the closing servers, Andrew. He was totally cool with us staying in so late, not making us feel rushed whatsoever. Him and Justin were the coolest while talking to us, and had helped us take numerous pictures. Food was great, although the clam chowder was on the watery side, and the clams were a bit salty. But you know, I couldn't complain about those biscuits and the Lobster pizza. Brought our food promptly husband had the Blacked Salmon with the Brussels Sprouts & Rice Pilaf and Raspberry Ice Tea. I had some of the Calamari Appetizer that the kids got. Plus a cup of Clam Chowder. The I had Shrimp Linguini for my Entree. Just delicious along wit Cheddar Bay Biscuits. My stepdaughter wanted to come here for her 8th birthday dinner. Out of all the restaurants in the area she chose this place. I tried calling to make a reservation for 7. No one answered. I called three times. I tried making a reservation online; it said there was no wait time! Well we went right over and they tell me the wait is 1.5 hours. They are not apologetic. Customer service was excellent and we sat at the bar but they were really packed so it was slow but we weren't in a hurry. The food was really good except for the lobster bisque do not eat! It tastes like a cheese soup. We had Bud Lights in a bottle poured into a glass and they charge just $4.95 per bottle of Bud Light, which I thought was absolutely ridiculous! We arrived for dinner at 10:00 pm, should of been plenty of time to eat before closing at 11:00 pm. We were seated right away, the restaurant was a little less than half full. As soon as we were seated I overheard the table behind us complain about refilling the drinks. We had the same waitress so I should of guessed how the service would go. To start off we ordered drinks, I asked what beers were on tap but could not get an answer because she didn't know nor bothered to find out. So I ordered a bottle of lagunitas I saw from the menu. I will say this, our waitress was very polite, just not good at her job. I ordered the king crab legs, which came with two sides. I ordered mashed sweet potatoes which was awful and cold, plus asparagus which was soggy and buried under my crab legs. I was told that my dinner also came with a salad. We all three ordered a salad but when she brought out the three salads she dropped two off and gave the third to a different table. I decided not to say anything. I probably should have. I walked to the bar to find out what beers were on tap, came back and ordered a Sam Adams. Before I finished my terrible meal, yes they even ruined the steamed cold crab legs, I ordered another beer. That one never came. We had to ask twice for the cheddar garlic biscuits that were also cold. I can go on and on but I will leave it at that. I wouldn't think with an empty restaurant that she was very busy. She could of been new, she had a great personality but the service was as bad as I've seen in a long time. As far as the terrible cold food, no excuse. It was late, but with an hour till closing, seemed like they were rushing to get out of there. Our waitstaff was made up of a veteran server, Laura and a trainee, Ericka. They were on top of there game tonight. Excellent service, kind, engaging to my family which included a squirmy toddler. Visited 10/9/16, our waited was Shane he was awesome beginning to end. But what wasn't awesome was the little bug cocoons that were found in the broccoli. Shane was very apologized for it but his manager was sent over and didn't seem to care much. Apparently she made a comment saying that's what happens when ordering farm fresh veggies. I love their pina colada & biscuit! But I really don't want to give any stars! But the service is terrible! We've been here 3 times & trying & hoping for a better experience each time. Let's start with the unfriendly & very unwelcome receptionist each time we come. The service is always very slow like at Zootopia movie. It's not like they were busy, the place is always almost empty. The server are all unfriendly & unapologetic when you do gentle confrontation. And their carpet is super old & smelly! This was my first visit to the Modesto Red Lobster. 30 min wait on a friday evening.(to be expected) Service was good and they didn't hassle us about how long we were there. Had the crab, which was fresh and delicious. Gave my server a good tip for being on top of things, but not hovering. I know that she probably needed us to leave at some point so we didn't linger too long after we were done with our excellent dinner. **Note: A good tip is 21+% people. It's good karma, so do it. I'm not a server, but I did it for 6 months and it's a crappy job, with crappy pay and usually crappy management. So if you can't afford to tip, go to McDonalds. read more

I swore I'd never set foot in another Red Lobster after learning that one of their locations was shut down due to health code violations but I let my defenses down when my friends wanted to go. This location seems well run (except for the bar area at times) and the wait staff are nice. The food is as I remember it but seems like they've really been trying to up-the-ante on their creations. I thoroughly enjoyed this platter I ordered (forgot the name) but it had everything I like and then some.
