Came in town to visit my aunt and she wanted some Red Lobster. She told me about the Endless Shrimp they had going on so I was in for that. There was no wait when we got in and was seated immediately. Our server Abby was awesome!! she made everything so easy for us. She let me get all the Shrimp my heart desired. There was no waiting periods in between shrimps. As soon as I started on the first batch she was already placing orders for the next batch. I tried the breaded shrimp, the shrimp scampi, the shrimp linguini and last but not least the grilled shrimp with sriracha sauce! I had a field day with these shrimps. I had dinner here last night. I was very disappointed. Lettuce in the salad was wilted. The rock lobster was so tough around the edges I couldn't even cut it with a knife. I think it had been cooked the day before and heated up in the microwave before they served it. Mashed potatoes were room temperature. I had a frozen drink which was pretty good, although it had virtually no alcohol in it. I had no idea who my server was because several different people waited on me. The biscuits were good. They brought me seven of them! Very wasteful for a guy dining alone. read more

Wait times are long. The Walt's shrimp have crumbles of bread falling all over the place on the plate and it also crumbles in your mouth when you try to eat it. I love fried shrimp, but I had to take off the breading. This is the only red lobster that I've been to that can't get the fried shrimp right. At least the biscuits were good as always. read more

I have never went online to write a review but after my experience today i have to. I myself am a waitress for a restraunt called Kona Grill. I have been eating at Red Lobster for over 12 year's and have never been more dissatisfied in a dining experience. From the moment i walked in all i got was a "how many" there was no hello or any other greeting. The host walked me to my table dropped the silverware down appose to just quietly sitting it down and by dropping i mean from the air just let it go to land on the table. She said enjoy and walked away. My server whom i do not know her name was friendly and greeted us quickly. I asked about the lobster artichoke dip and requested no artichoke she wasnt sure if kitchen could do that so went and asked. When she returned and sayed it was premixed and said it was more cheesy and coildnt taste the artichoke much. i asked for a sample because i didnt want something strong im artichoke and didnt want to waste my money or the kitchens time for something i would not like. She went to ask the kitchen if they could do that and then the manager come's out and describes it comes in packaged and already portioned and premixed. So i was shocked something that simple to make came in frozen in the first place but he also stated i shouldnt get it if i didnt like artichoke because it was a strong taste in the dip. Thats completly different then what the server told me. As a server any restraunt should expect there servers to know how to describe any item listed on the menu. My server had 3 tables total including me and was not prompt on refilling drinks as quick as should be for not being busy nor did she have proper training on busting a table or red lobster just doesnt give a hoot on prebusting. I even sat my plates and stuff on the edge of the table for her and had to physically hand it to her eventually because everytime she would visit the table she never left with dirty dishes from my table. Mashed potatoes were cold, they gladly warmed them in a micowave im sure. Fries were cold and crab legs were beyond miserable looking to be from a well known seafood restraunt. They were very thin and next to no meet. Everything else was delicious as usual. I made sure to make conversation with my server to ask how long she has been serving there before making a final decision to write a review. I could understand if she was new to serving but she had reaponded and told me it was her 7th month. Therfore she should know the menu and know part of serving is pre bunsting and having drinks filled properly especially if you are not weeded with tables. Last but not least when i got my bill of $69 i instantly noticed the gratuity at the bottom of the reciept is incorrect. It said a $18 tip for 20%. That in itself is fraud. On May 1 I sent my mom and e-gift card for her birthday. My brother and I live in different states and was unable to come to VA for her birthday. She came to this Red Lobster alone. I called up and spoke with Micheal and asked if they sung Happy Birthday to customers. He advised me that they did and I asked him a really big favor! I asked him if he could locate my mom and sing Happy Birthday to her because she was alone. He put me on a short hold and he came back and described my mom to me. Terrible treatment of people with disabilities. Handicap customers had to wait 30 minutes or more for a table. Booth not an option. The dining area had lots of vacant tables. They tried to seat us at a booth while a table was available next to booth but the host said it was not staffed. I sat in at the table and the available server had no problem serving me. Ok, I don't know why I ate here. The BF and I already knew it wasn't going to be good, but Oh I don't know I guess all the commercials got to me. Anyways, it was bad. So I assume that all the food is pre-prepared and the cooks just had to heat it up, but I would have thought they could drain the cooking liquid out of my dishes. It's amazing!! My sister had a gastric procedure so she has to be really picky about where she eats and I was a little worried at first about trying this place, but it was the best idea ever!! We walked in and were greeted by a warm hostess. She sat us immediately and the waiter came over almost immediately to take our drinks and bring us biscuits. THEY ARE AMAZING BISCUITS!!! LIKE THAT COULD BE MY DINNER BY ITSELF!! We shared the pick two combo. We had the wood grilled salmon and shrimp alfredo! She was able to have some of the salad, salmon and shrimp and even a few nibbles of the biscuit! Everything sat fine and that is very rare for her. The waiter came over multiple times during the meal to check on us and refill drinks. I actuallly don't think we asked for a refill once, he always brought one prior to being asked! When it comes to this Red Lobster, I've learned from my past mistakes when it came to going there on Saturdays and anytime after 5:00pm. With that being said, I made two trips to this particular Red Lobster within the last two months and both experiences were pleasant. Both times I went to the restaurant during the lunch time and both times I had the same server named Ben. He was very personable and attentive. Of all the years I had been coming to Red Lobster, this server brought something to my attention. He was the first server who actually suggested that I substitute the salad for another side item. During the million times I went to Red Lobster in the past, servers never gave customers the option to substitute the salad for another side item. I remember years ago there was one time that I asked if I could get something in exchange for my salad and the server gave me a bowl of unsweetened apple sauce. OH HECK NO. Maybe those servers depended on customers to refrain from inquiring about it. But the food came out on time, was hot and service was good. FOUR STARS. read more

The worst meal we've had in a very long time. My shrimp were indeed shrimps. With the tasteless breading you couldn't tell there was any shrimp at all. I took the breading off to find somewhat mushy pieces of shrimp that were so thin you could almost read through them. My husband got the $28 Captain's combo and his meal was just as disappointing. The scallops were so tiny that I doubt they were really scallops. The clams served were more like crumbs. The only thing that was good were the biscuits which accounts for the 1 star I gave them. read more

Our meal tonight was not good. I've always loved going to Red Lobster, but I don't think I will be back. My husband and I got Snow Crab Legs, Ultimate Feast, and Chicken Alfredo Pasta. The crab legs were horrible. They literally had no flavor and now, we are both feeling sick from the crab legs. Our service really sucked too, not to mention, we went about 30 minutes AT LEAST without drinks because our waitress didn't come to check on us in that amount of time. When she finally came over to check on us she asked us if we needed anything and we asked her for drinks. She responded "omg you guys need to wave me down or call me over". I'm sorry, I didn't know i needed to yell at my waitress to get her to fill our drinks. There was a 20 minute wait when we got there, so we knew they'd be busy. Came to RL because my kid loves it. The food is pretty good and is always hot and tasty. The issue here is the wait time. No matter what time or day I stop by there is always a 30 to 35 minute wait and when you're seated the place is half empty. I guess that's how they can afford to stay open during these tough times; by stream lining their kitchen to have a small crew. The staff here isn't that pleasant; I guess management isn't doing such a great job at keeping them happy. My server, food runner, busser all had a frown on their head. They weren't quick to clean tables either; we were sat next to a table that had a bunch of dirty dishes. I guess management isn't on top of them. My overall experience wasn't that great; but again the food was pretty good. I'm a roommate of a lady that frequents this restaurant often and had a gift card there so I accompanied her to dinner. Well of course the cheddar biscuits were superb and the crablegs were tender but not hot. The issue that totally irritated me as it was not only an example of the waitresses knowledge but she lied as well. I ordered a portion of SEA SCALLOPS. NOT BAY SCALLOPS. I can't eat batter coated eraser like bay scallops and didn't mind paying extra for the SEA scallops. When I noticed the 6 little "eraserlike batter chunks where my 6 large silver dollar size broiled SEA scallops should have been I asked her what is this. She ASSURED me that those batter balls were INDEED SEA scallops. She just lied. At the time I thought I must have gotten the two mixed up in my head .I didn't. I did look up the 2in question and I did receive the WRONG ORDER and paid a premium for it. Please Red lobster. You4 food and service has drastically fallen rapidly and this is sad because I've eaten here when you didn't have ANY issues and it was ambrosia. We decided to try Red Lobster because I had a gift certificate. I was very pleased with the waitress, although I don't remember her name. She took a little while when bringing our drinks and food, but the quality was very good. I had never tried the cheddar biscuits and they were delicious. The restaurant was close to closing so we didn't get dessert, but everything else was great. A couple other tables walked in while we were there, so we could tell our server was busy, but she did her best to make sure everything was up to par. On Sunday Dec. 11th I went to Red Lobster (broad st) with my girlfriend to celebrate her 22nd birthday. We got to the restaurant at 6 and were seated at 6:30. During this half hour the two hosts at one point were whispering and laughing to themselves. One of the hostesses ran laughing into the bathroom and came out a few seconds later announcing "It's ok, I'm ok," then returned to having a private conversation with the other host. We were then seated in a mostly empty room in a booth set for 4. Most of the room was empty, tables set, and still a long line of people waiting to be sat. I don't understand why we had to wait 30 mins to be seated in a nearly empty room. When our appetizer came, we did not have appetizer plates. Also, we had not gotten bread. I asked if they still did the bread baskets, and she said it was coming right out. Maybe 5 minutes later, our server (Liz?) brought our appetizer plates, a bread basket, and our salads. We had just finished our salads when the main courses came out, and we were still eating our appetizer. My girlfriend had gotten crab legs with her order, but didn't receive a claw with her legs. The claw is the best part! I got scallops with my order, I received 4, but one was cut in half. This tells me the cook is not confident with cooking scallops. The plates came out hot, but the food was not. Within a few minutes, the food was room temperature. This led us to believe that the food was left under heating lamps before being brought out to us. Across the, still mostly empty room, a child was with her parents but rather than eating she decided to do summersaults, talk loudly, and even loudly slam down a plate of food. The mother, at this point, spanked the kid, who started crying. The family left a few minutes after. I understand this is out of the restaurants control, but still had a large impact on the dining experience. After eating less than half of our plates we decided to get boxes and leave so that we could heat up the food and home and eat as we studied for our finals. When the check came on the Tip line I wrote "Overall poor experience" and on the Total line rounded up the dollar amount for a total of $65.00. I also inserted my business card, in hopes of sharing my experience with a manager to explain why a tip was not left. On the way out, there was no communication from the hostess at the check in desk. A few minutes into the drive back to my girlfriend's house I received a text message from 804.895.4551 at 7:46 saying "Thank You!" At 7:47 I replied "Who is this?" At 7:52 I received "Karma" At 8:05 I replied "Oh hey Karmen I have my econ final tmrw. Do you want to study Wednesday?" I suspect that "Karma" is actually our server.
