We celebrated our daughter's 20th birthday at Maggiano's in Richmond this past Saturday, and I can't say enough about the experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. Carlos Clinton, the General Manager, went above and beyond to make sure our daughter felt truly celebrated. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the night memorable. It wasn't just good service -- it was thoughtful hospitality. Melissa was our server, and she was absolutely fantastic. She did an outstanding job with suggestive selling, guiding us through the menu, and ensuring the entire dinner flowed smoothly from start to finish. Her attention to detail and energy made the experience even better. I had brought flowers ahead of time to be presented with dessert, and the team timed it perfectly. When the dessert arrived and the flowers were brought out, it created such a beautiful, unforgettable moment for our daughter. And to top it off, when we accidentally left the flowers behind, Melissa actually ran them out to us in the parking lot. That level of care says everything about the team there. We managed to get a reservation on easter Sunday at 315. We actually left another restaurant to come here. We walked in and were seated almost immediately this place is huge! They have an upstairs and downstairs dining area, a seperate area for to go orders. We got sat waited a few minutes for our server. Lance came over and I already saw he was busy so we placed our appetizer order of calamari and 2 cokes with him. It gave us time to look over the menu although we already knew what we were getting because we had looked over the menu online. We got out app which is mixture of full body calamari and rings with marinara sauce and lemon. First bite it wasnt hot it was barely warm. Lance came to check on us and I said take it back its cold he apologized and got it redone. It only took about 3 minutes for him to come back with a hot one. We placed our order Ifor me the crab imperial branding with mashed potatoes, asparagus a ala carte linguine and alfredo and a side ceasar.to split. For the hubby lobster carbonara with extra bacon and add shrimp. We sat and ate the app, the rolls we got that were made perfectly but we definitely need extra butter. We watched the staff work together to keep everything running smoothly. You definitely saw managers in the dining room but I didnt see them engaging with tables much unless they were seating someone. We got our food and you could see the steam coming off the pasta my husband ordered. My branzino sauce was cold fish luke warm and asparagus I could pick up with my fingers and eat it they werent hot. Ughhh..I told Lance and he took my plate to the kitchen to be remade. Said he told managers in both back and front of the house. I thought ok cool. I got my food and the sauce was hot the fish not as hot as I think it should've been, an my asparagus was hotter as well. We ended up getting boxes for everything. Lance stepped away an came back with 2 small champagne toasts and some of their lemon cookies yum yum yum. We were there celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary. It was very nice of him to do. We also received a card for a free seafood entree for our next visit. We paid our bill an left. Lance was great handled everything perfectly. Food was good I think I'll do pasta next time the atmosphere was family oriented an even though they were busy everyone helped each other out. My only concern is that with 2 dishes going back to the table a manager never stopped by our table. I know they were busy but someone was walking around the dining room in regular clothes with a walkie and walked by our table a couple times without saying a word. It was our first time there and that is why they got a 4 from me. First time customers with 2 cold dishes celebrating a special occasion an "im sorry I'm glad we were able to get those dishes right for you" would've been nice. Oh and I forgot to get our military discount but thats ok. All in all it was a good experience had a couple bumps but they were fixed and made up for. We will return for another visit. read more

We had Thanksgiving dinner here the other night and we were all shocked at how good it was. I can't honestly remember thw last time I went to a Maggiano's. We had a reservation for 7 guests and arrived about an hour early to grab pre dinner drinks at the bar area. The bartenders were super friendly and helped us decide on what wines we would like. I had the red blend and the others had a pitcher of their red sangria. Both drinks were delish! Later, our table was ready for the dinner reservation and the hostess gave us a round table which made it easier to talk to everyone and share the meal. I believe our servers name was Justin and he was awesome! We had the family style Thanksgiving menu and it was great. We started with both salad options and the rolls. I could have eaten 12 of those rolls they were that good. For the entrees and sides we ordered the turkey and salmon entrees with vodka pasta, fettuccine Alfredo, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. I loved the vodka pasta and the fettuccine. For dessert we ordered the praline cheesecake and the chocolate cake. By the time that course came around I was stuffed. read more

My girlfriends and I went out for Galantines Day. What a weird experience. Our waiter kept cracking jokes about drug use. Our salad order was wrong. Everyone was very nice and the booth was comfy, although the table was rocking with touch which was a bit annoying. I got the grand margarita which was good but I don't feel the foam added anything. My husband got the pomegranate martini which was a beautiful color and tasted very good. Both drinks were a good serving size. We did the meal for 2 which included salads, pasta dishes, and a dessert. We both got different salads and were very happy with the size and taste. I got the Alfredo with chicken and the pasta was phenomenal but the chicken was chewy and unappetizing. My husband got the stuffed wagyu shells and they were delicious. For dessert we could decide since there was a ton of delicious sounding options, he had some he favored while I favored completely different ones so we decided to let the waitress pick knowing we would enjoy any of them. We ended up getting the apple crustada which my husband was really hoping for after we decided to let her pick. It was SO good. The crust was amazing and every bite was delicious. After being seated, it took 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. 15 minutes after placing our drink orders, the general manager did stop by and inform us they were out of grapefruit juice but offered to run across the street to the closest grocery store to go get some, which we appreciated, but we declined given the long delay. In total, it took nearly an hour and a half to receive all of our drinks and appetizers. Unfortunately, this experience didn't meet expectations, and we won't be returning. read more

Have gone to the short pump location for several years and more recently the service has significantly declined! Terrible experience this past visit. Table of 3 , on a Monday afternoon at 3pm, barely anyone in the restaurant. We sat for almost 15mins at the table before the server came to ask what we're drinking and bring bread. After we ordered, my plate of pasta with sausage came out but was missing the sausage! When I told the server the sausage is missing , instead of apologizing and offering to get it right , she immediately said "ohh okay I'll just take the sausage off your check ". Refills for drinks were very slow to begin but gradually got better. We asked for our food to be placed in to go boxes and this terrible server just brings out a bunch of boxes and the check . After about 45 minutes we checked with the host and they said we're next on the list. By the time I waited a total of an hour and 20 minutes I left. What's the point of a reservation if you have to wait like you just walked in? I also saw people get up and leave because they were finally seated and never even got service. Absolutely awful Christmas Eve. Recently moved back to Richmond after being away for a few years for work and this place seems to have gone drastically downhill. I took my family there for Christmas Eve and it was a "never again" experience. Our drinks took 15 minutes to order and 20 minutes to get. My father received a bottled beer with no glass until he asked, then got a chipped and dirty glass. My father also did not have a bread plate or silverware until we asked 3 times. My wife received the wrong pasta and when she asked it to be corrected the server said he would look into it and didn't return for over 20 minutes. When the issue was pushed with another server, the original server eventually brought a replacement and said, "sorry, lots going on in that kitchen." The dish, spaghetti with meat sauce, was so spicy (which it never has been in the past) it seemed almost retaliatory. Drinks were left empty for another 20 minutes as our server vanished for long stints and we had to flag down someone else for a water. Food quality was overall bad. Everything came out room temperature and looked like it had been under a heat lamp. Dried out pasta and sauce was already congealed. No cheese was offered at all. Despite the issue with my wife's food and my father commenting on his pasta being dried out and overall terrible, nothing was addressed by the server or a manager. The check was dropped off without comment. This was an absolute rock bottom experience, and we were not alone. Other tables were looking frustrated and audibly commenting on vanishing servers, long wait times for everything, and flagging down bussers to try to get assistance. The whole reason I'm writing this review is to shout out our incredible waitress Ariyanna. We saw some staff being treated very rudely, people walking out, etc. it was hectic but the staff was keeping it together! Ariyanna was incredibly calm and kept our courses coming and cups filled. She made what could've been a miserable dining experience into a pleasant one to celebrate my mom and I am grateful for that. The food was good too lol, but the service is what really stood out. My family & I are frequent visitors to north park location (25+ times) so On vacation we decided to try Richmond location & celebrate special birthday. We made reservations, reviewed menu for GF options etc. To say service was poor is giving it grace. Over 40 minutes to get drinks, part of the food was never received & even after we requested another server - mgr was apologetic but it continued downhill. DIL was most affected as not only was her appetizer non existent - her meal was bloody red (ordered a medium steak) and cold. We skipped the children's desserts & left with a very poor view of what had always been fabulous experiences. I am not sure who is running the Short Pump, VA location but what a disappointment from the check in thru the service. So borderline I thought I was in their Chillis location. Food was ordinary and looked unappealing. Their lunch menu seemed great till they added the ice tea. They claim they have hot tea on menu but none available till they dug through thr back. The rolls were nothing like their prior rolls with olive oil. No seconds allowed. Sooo disappointing like no one wanted to be there mid-afternoon. You can't look nice, have mediocre service and expensive specials if you can't deliver. 67.00 special became over 90.00 for nothing. Not worth it for poor everything. read more
