Usually when my wife's birthday is coming up we plan on going to Red Lobster. She loves seafood and this is basically the only place in town for that. Its too bad I don't live in Boston or some where on the coast. It seems like people in Rochester always over pay for seafood. We sat down and ordered our drinks and looked at the menu. Basically anything with lobster in it was going to cost about $30.00 per dinner. The surf and turf was about $37 but I didn't want a huge bill. So we both ordered this seafood mix over linguini. We had it the last time we were there and liked it. They give you lobster , scallops, shrimp and clams with pasta. The food was good and our waiter was very fast. Any time I needed something he was there in a jiffy. The only complaint I have is when I got the bill. I just think $90.00 is a little much for just two people. We really didn't get that much seafood for the money that we paid. I would of been better off just buying some huge lobster tails at Sams club and making it myself. I used to love Red Lobster, it was one of my favorite chain restaurants. Took my friends to this Red Lobster yesterday for lunch, first let me say, service was great, knowledgeable, and friendly. Food was ok, I enjoyed my scallops and clams, my buddy's fish sandwich was huge, and my other friend loved the Alfredo. Hot biscuits were good, salads though were not so hot. Price seemed ok for 3 of us at $52.00 plus tip so was ok with it. Overall I will go back, or to the one on Jefferson, as I don't think there's really a lot of good sea food places in Rochester. If you want an ok meal, good service, and fair price check out the Lobster. read more

To start, I can here alone because all my friends are "too cool" for chain restaurants. So I was not surprised when I said table for one that they sat me at the bar. I don't drink, but hey I got the whole bar area to myself and there were TVs so who cares. They brought me a basket of their famous biscuits, and even though there was only one of me they still put four. Which I dig. BRING ON THE BISCUITS BABY! Then my shrimp tacos came out. Now as a lunch special you get three shrimp tacos and fries for 7.99. That's basically Mexican fish and chips so I was pretty excited! I asked for hot sauce and my awesome server Margaret brought over Tapatio!!!! Yes, TAPATIO!!!! Seeing as there are no mariscos or taco trucks around, this may be my go to for a good fish/shrimp taco. Dad had a gift card he wanted to use, so he invited me to lunch at Red Lobster. I've had less than stellar experiences in the past at this establishment, but Dad was paying - so you know... In the past, my biggest complaint was that the booths are too small. Today we sat in a booth that was roomier, but I did hear other patrons specifically ask about the width of the seats. So I know that this is a common complaint. Anyways, that aside, I really can't say anything bad about my experience. The food was actually quite tasty. My dad ordered the Bar Harbor bake complete with lobster tail, shrimp, mussels, and scallops on a bed of linguini. I had a choose your own lunch with shrimp and green beans. My dad's meal in particular was quite delicious. The lobster (though small) was tasty, and the mussels were perfect. He let me try them. I am a huge fan of mussels, but I don't like it when they are so chewy that you can't bite through them. These were perfect, and the flavor was good too - they tasted fresh! I also enjoyed our waitress. My dad's not big on talkers, but I think he even agreed that she was pleasant. She was informative and attentive, and at the same time, left us alone to enjoy our meal. Sometimes it's hard to strike that perfect balance. Part of me cringes at paying these prices for seafood at Red Lobster. I'd much rather save it for a seafood experience on the coast. It has become kind of our regular dinning place whenever we visit Rochester. The food is ok, service is not bad as well. Some of the dishes are quite tangy and to crave for. The place is very busy and fully packed. So, consider 20-30 minutes wait time before you can get you table for dinner. This time, the appetizers and main course came together. Ate here today and it was terrible. I love their stuff mushrooms and they were full of salt!!!!! The clam strips were so over cooked and hard as ice chips. I noticed what looked like waitresses and a waiter bringing out dishes and it appeared they maybe actualling the ones back there cooking...not sure so dont quote me on it but food was lousy non the less... My fiance and I have gone out to eat here quite a few times now. It is a nice restaurant to go to when we are craving seafood, because it is so close to home and also delicious. I think our favorite part about Red Lobster is the seasonal items and how everything changes, but for the better. They always have their classics but they have new items that really get your taste buds going. I have to say the hostess staff is a hit or miss; they are either super friendly or very rude. Wait staff is always amazing. I always appreciate the extra biscuits on the way out! I just realized I have never had dessert here. Though this is your typical chain restaurant, I was impressed by the service and the extra biscuits they gave us to take home. I had the flounder fish with the added lobster tail. The flounder did not have any taste but I enjoyed the add on of the lobster tail to your meal. Well it's seafood... thousands of miles from the sea. How fresh do you think it is. Now I'm not saying that global warming hasn't effected a lot of stuff. My family and I love Red Lobster for special occasions! We went for my moms birthday dinner, and our hostess was SO rude. When we walked in, he did not greet us, no "hello" or even a "hi". My mom said "hi we have a party of 4", he mumbled something along the lines of "follow me" we think.? So we follow him, and he brought us to a table, so my mom said "do you think we could please have a booth?" He rolled his eyes, walked us to a booth, dropped the menus and silverware, literally dropped them, and just walked away. So rude and unprofessional, we almost left. It's Red Lobster... that should probably set your expectations. The service can go from quite poor to average. Today for a late lunch early dinner sitting in a moderately busy restaurant it was poor. Table service was infrequent with our waitress rarely clearing away any dirty dishes without consistent prompting. Perhaps they were understaffed for some reason but we weren't told. Kitchen staff also seemed overwhelmed with their delectable salt-cheese biscuits taking a good fifteen extra minutes to come out and our baked potatoes coming out so far after the entrees were served that most everyone at our table took them home. Perhaps they were under-prepped or understaffed but we weren't told. I came across a RetailMeNot coupon that was recently posted and had the location address listed for this Red Lobster but on presenting it we were told that because Red Lobster is now private (July I think it happened) they couldn't honor that coupon any longer. Every restaurant has a tough day now and again, but I think I'll just go to the Henrietta location if someone in my family craves shrimp scampi or those biscuits. read more

I expect at least a 3 star experience from a chain restaurant. Pulling into the parking lot on a Tuesday evening, there weren't many cars.... But they were short staffed and we had to wait 25 minutes. When we finally did get a table, the service was very slow: On a scale of snail to lightning, we had snail service. Maybe tortoise, but that would be generous. When our food finally arrived, mine was unpalatable. The shrimp skewers tasted as if they were brined in cups of salt for several days before grilling. My mother and I decided to go here for the Endless Shrimp Special. We arrived in the restaurant and my mother was using her walker. The hostess seated us at almost the last table in the establishment. A walker is pretty obvious, so we were surprised when she took is all the way to the back. We waited several minutes to be asked even for our drink order. Once our food arrived it was delicious. With Endless Shrimp the waiter brings refills out of the shrimp. At one point our order was delivered to another table, after the man had touched the plate, the waitress helping our waiter went back took the plate and brought it to us. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. When we got there we were told ŵe had a 30 minute wait. The restraint was empty and there was five waitresses standing around talking, so we just assumed they must be short on cooks. Three minutes later they said they had a table for us. We were seated and asked what we wanted to drink. My daughter ordered an alcoholic drink and was told she couldn't have one because my husband had consumed a drink before he left the house. My husband jokes alot and had told my daughter he had 5 shots at home (I'm a private conversation) she didn't believe him because he doesn't drink shots and never has, but one of the waitresses must've overheard him. My daughter has bi-polar, which causes extreme mood changes, and started cŕying. We were tgen told to leave. Thus was a very humiliating experience, which I am still shocked by. This location is horribly managed. Always understaffed and the manager's attitude is very "cavalier", seems to not know what it means to actually speak to patrons and explain staffing issues. Being "matter of fact" with customers doesn't set a great standard. My family was told that the wait for 7 people was 2 hours, the waiting room had about 15 people in it and there were 6-7 empty booths at the front of the restaurant. When she finally came to our table, I said"oh wow I thought you got lost". Her response was, "I am a bartender, I was making drinks". Ok so we put our 2nd order in. She disappeared AGAIN. So for UNLIMITED SHRIMP we got 1 extra order! I asked for a manager, after telling her my disappointment of service, she returned to table & said" I took drink off your order! REALLY, not offer to give us each another order of shrimp. Apparently, she felt like her staff did no wrong. Did I mention Sandra brought us 4 "cold" biscuits when we got there& never asked if we wanted more! Good help us so hard to find. Sandra made it a point to say she has been doing this 5 years. My Husband took me here for date night. I tried to hint that I don't like this place. He didn't get the hint. Going in the restaurant I noticed a real bad odor. Dirty carpet smell.
