Ya know. It's Red Lobster. It's corporate seafood for an (unfortunately increasing) middling price. My daughter and I were going to go next door at the fellow Darden restaurant Olive Garden. It was clear we weren't searching for anything extraordinary. Just hungry after shopping in the mostly desolate mall next door. OG was a 45 minute wait and we were headed for hangry. So, we crossed the parking lot to Red Lobster. We were seated quickly, our waiter was kind, and we had the yummy Cheese Biscuits in short order. We had to find something to accommodate her vegetarian desires. We opened with the fried beans with jalapeño ranch. They were quite tasty and we gobbled them up. She settled on the Baja bowl with shrimp on the side (which would go home with me). She reported it was good and satisfying. I had Walt's shrimp trio with shrimp Alfredo (which wasn't wonderful), shrimp scampi (which was good) and Walt's shrimp (which was quite good). I had the side salad with blue cheese and the loaded potato. My only disappointment really came when I realized I could have gotten the same or better with their Endless Shrimp for about the same price. Waited 30 minutes, which was more like I thought. The hostess led us to a table & while we were getting seated, she came back & asked us to move to another table, due to a large group coming in. We obliged, no problem. When we were seated, the waiter, Jakob B, came over & informed us they would give us an appetizer at no charge since we changed our seats!
