2018-05-20. So the last time I ate here they had made to order pastas. Well, it didn't last... We came because I was actually craving their shrimp scampi. I was hoping they had the AYCE shrimp deal going, but nothing doing. The current special was a Create Your Own (CYO) seafood trio for 16 bucks. Our server was pleasant and took our drink order and then left us to peruse the menu. When she came back she had a basket of Cheddar Bay biscuits with her, a great start. We ordered a Lobster Pizza, the Kids Shrimp Skewer, and two of the CYO trios. The trios allowed you to select a dish from each of three categories. The 1st category was your pasta specialties; the 2nd category was your classic flavors; and the third was a twist on the classics. Of course, we had to try everything that was new, so our 1st trio consisted of the Shrimp & Lobster Pasta, the Crab Topped Shrimp Skewer, and the Parmesan Truffle Scampi; the 2nd trio had the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, the Garlic Shrimp Scampi, and the last of the new dishes, the Spring Roll Crusted Shrimp. Lobster Pizza. Not a new item, we had this before and it was decent to the best of my recollection. It was not different this time around. Same thin crust, a standard portion of lobster meat (mostly claw, but some tail to), tomatoes, basil, and cheese. The crust was cooked nicely and was not soggy despite the tomatoes. Still 4 stars. Kids Shrimp Skewer. Essentially the same as the adult skewer, six decent sized shrimps (30-40 ct) grilled and served with orange wedges. The grill was light and it's only flavoring salt. More of an appetizer than a meal, 3 stars. Shrimp & Lobster Pasta. Linguini cooked in what looked to be a buttery wine cream sauce. The shrimp was your tiny 51-60 ct, but was OK since they used a fair amount. Again the lobster was a mix of tail and claw meat. The pasta was cooked fully, but not overcooked. The sauce was fantastic! Firing many senses of the palate with the first bite. The sauce was not thick nor runny. It did not contain wine, nor was it too acidic. At the same time the sauce was not creamy, but I'm sure it started out that way. To be honest, I not sure what they did to thin it out, but in doing so they also added lots of flavor. 4,5 stars. Crab Topped Shrimp Skewer. Essentially the same kids skewer, but topped with crab meat and butter... and that made a world of difference. 4 stars. Parmesan Truffle Scampi. I was very curious on this take of land and sea as truffle is a very powerful flavor. As it turned out, I was pleasantly surprised. They wisely used truffle rather than top the dish off with the oil which greatly toned down the earthly shrooms. The buttery scampi was still the star of the show and the parmesan was baked to a nice crisp to give it a new texture. The Shrimps are bigger than when I had it with the bottomless shrimp deal (30-40 ct from 50-60 ct), and so is the dish it's cooked in, but to offset, you get fewer. Still an improvement in my opinion, and even better than the classic! 5 stars. Spring Roll Crusted Shrimp. The concept of tempura shrimp, but with spring roll wrapper. The wrapper was cooked to a nice crisp and they provided a sweet, sour, and spicy sauce to go with it. The sauce was interesting, sweet at first, a little plummy, then a small kick in the end. Not great, but not bad either. They stuck with the 31-40 ct shrimp for this dish and I think it's where they fell short. I think they should have went with a bigger shrimp and fewer pieces to better balance out the wrapper to shrimp ratio. 2,5 stars. Shrimp Linguini Alfredo. The alfredo was as good as I remember it, nice and creamy, and the pasta was again cooked thoroughly without overcooking it. The shrimps were the smaller 50-60 ct and they used the same amount as with the shrimp and lobster pasta. The difference here is that there was no lobster, so they should have doubled up on the shrimp IMO. No doubt, the sauce carried this dish, and sadly the protein just went along for the ride. 4 stars for the sauce less 1 for the shrimps, 3 stars overall. The Garlic Shrimp Scampi was the reason why I came as I stated from the onset, and here it didn't disappoint. There were fewer shrimps in the dish, but they were bigger than I remember them. A trade I'd make any day. I'd normally give this dish 5 stars, but after tasting their new Parmesan Truffle Scampi, I'd say we have a new King! Sadly, I have to knock this one down half a notch to give the new King the recognition it deserves. I hope they give the Parmesan Truffle Scampi a permanent spot on their menu. Overall, their new dishes continue to surprise me; they fared better this time around than they did with their made-to-order pastas, so I'll be rounding them up rather than down. 4 stars. Ordered seafood combo platter with curbside pickup. It was a busy night, which I was happy to see for them. All the curbside parking was filled and people were going into restaurant to wait for food (pre Feb. 1). I finally got a parking spot and called the number instructed to call. I was told they were short and it would be a while. At this point it was almost 40 minutes past time it was to be done. I ended up going in to pick up my food. Not real comfortable with that. Omg, I have never had such a bad dining experience in my entire life, and I eat out a lot. We got sat at 5:37 a server didn't come to our table until 6:07, brought our drinks shortly after. The cup they served my app in had left over chocolate in it and my server tried to say it's ok, they ran it through the dish washer but it didn't come out all the way, the food is fine... LIKE THE FOOD IS FINE? My food is touching someone CHOCOLATE THAT WAS IN THEIR MOUTH.... So my daughters food came out, the server informed me that the kitchen lost my ticket, so they had to re make my plate, mind you it's now 6:20.. I give it a few more mins I tell her nvm, she brings my food in a box bc I said I had to go I've been here an hour with no food. So I found a manager and told her what had happened I said keep my food I don't want it just take it off the bill. They ended up comping the entire thing but, if you're struggling to take care of your table, ask someone for help, don't let your guest suffer. I am still just in shock at how bad of an experience I had. I have never in my life never gotten my food! Or had a server tell me that a dirty dish was ok to eat from. I really enjoyed my experience at THIS location of Red Lobster. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but it was the weekend. So we order drinks. I ordered the mojito and my BF order the Piña colada. The mojito was sweet, minty, and good amount of lime. I did ask for extra limes, because I'm extra. The Piña colada was ok, but BF enjoyed it. So it is lobster fest so you already know what we ordered! I ordered the seaport lobster and shrimp and he ordered the Bar Harbor Bake. I enjoyed my meal, everything was seasoned very well. The only thing I wish noddles came with the shrimp scampi portion. My BF enjoyed his, it contains a lot of seafood like mussels, scallops, and lobster over pasta.Oh, shrimp as well! Also when you order a main dish a side salad of your choice comes with it. Or you can upgrade to a soup. I chose to go with a Cesar salad. The scampi was very good. The skewered was good also but it seemed much different than in the past. The coconut was amazing with that sauce they give you. The Walt's favorite was overcooked and hard. Some pieces were brown from being burned in the fryer. I chose the ceaser salad. I ordered extra dressing extra cheese extra croutons. It was good but I don't like the way they now slice the parmesan cheese. They used to grate it and it was so much better. Our server was amazing. Waited 40 minutes at the restaurant after waiting 25 minutes at home after ordering via app. If I wanted microwaved rubber textured shrimp I would have just air fried the ones in my freezer I was avoiding cooking. Should have, would have tasted better. While waiting inside looking at the lobster tank my husband thought 2 lobsters were having sex, he then realized the one was dead and being eaten by the other. The cocktail sauce lid was not on and poured all over my Brussel sprouts. Just an over all awful experience. It will be another 10 years before I eat red lobster again. Paid $30 for the lobster, shrimp, and salmon meal. The meal wasn't worth it. The lobster tail was charred to death, definitely over cooked and rubbery. It also had no seasoning or butter at all. The shrimp was bland, again no seasoning or butter, tough as nails. The only thing that was good was the mashed potatoes, topped with lobster. The broccoli was cold, I added cheese, which was shredded and of course it didn't melt one bit. I always come to this location, but decided to try something new. My family of four came here the other evening for dinner. I recently had knee surgery so I walk with crutches. There wasn't a wait and the restaurant was fairly dead but that didn't stop the hostess from sitting my family at the farthest possible booth from the door. We passed several booths and tables that were empty. Little annoying we couldn't sit at somewhere closer since I was on crutches. Service was good. Beverages stayed filled. Unlimited biscuits were delicious. We all got a side salad with our meal. Meh. Just looked like a bag of Dole salad mix with one tomato and one onion. They also discontinued their raspberry vinaigrette that my Mom and Auntie loved. I ordered the shrimp tacos with rice and they yummy. Topped with tons of pico de gallo and jalapeño dressing. Definitely on the spicier side!! My aunt ordered grilled chicken. She always raves Red Lobster has the best chicken- even for a seafood place. She was less than impressed this time though. The meal is served with two chicken breasts and both of hers were rubbery and tough. Very low quality chicken. Seems like their food is taking a turn for the worst even with the higher end prices. Everyone after us that was seated was being helped and their orders were being taken. Every meal We've ever had here has been delicious!! Tonight, while placing an order, we accidentally entered something incorrectly and called immediately to amend the order. We had the displeasure of speaking with the rude manager, Kevin. He couldn't change the order because it had already been sent to the kitchen (ok who cares, walk back there and tell them), couldn't offer a refund so we could place a new order because the system "wouldn't let him" and couldn't help in any way at all actually, nor did he care to. Actually he could refund, but it takes two weeks to get it but then he switched his answer back to being unable to again. Presumably, because he didn't know what he was talking about to begin with. Not being able to accommodate what we were asking for is one thing, but to not care or offer an apology is another. Thanks for nothing, Kevin. Find a new job. read more

Extremely disappointing! I will not go back Red Lobster until after Covid is COMPLETELY OVER. The menu selections are reduced, their portions are smaller but price are up. Appetizer coconut shrimp used to get nine shrimp nine bucks. Now you get six for 10 bucks. The snow crab legs I have never got a smaller portion of snow crab legs at any restaurant I have ever been to. The main reason I went to red lobster for my birthday dinner was for king crab legs which they no longer carry because of Covid. The salad had three items Romain lettuce small amount of cheese and croutons I was 10 bucks. I will say, for a chain, this place is actually amazing and delicious. I went on a Sunday at 5 pm and it was dead, which was nice for me but I wondered why it was so dead. My server, whose name I forgot, was very upbeat and friendly. He was personable and prompt when it was time to receive the food. I ordered the coconut shrimp and oh my goodness, it was amazing!!! The shrimp is huge and the pineapple sauce that's on the side is delicious. My mom ordered the mix and match shrimp but just got three shrimp scampi dishes. There was so much shrimp, she took 2/3 of it home. Each dish also came with a side and a salad. The Caesar salad was fresh and great. The cauliflower au gratin was a little too salty for my liking, but I sent it back and got mashed potatoes. Oh... and the bread. That's the best part! read more

I was really craving some crab legs for my birthday, when I told my husband that I wanted Red Lobster, he kept saying "Really? Are you sure?". It was really good, and the crab was very sweet! I ate half the salad and didn't even want to touch my side. I just wanted crab and shrimp! I loved every bite. Hubs had the ultimate feast. He was very satasified with his meal. Let me start by saying I don't like lobster and I have never understood why the exterior of red lobster is blue.....I think it clashes. With that said, I had a wonderful New Orleans Salmon. I love this place. This was my first time at a Red Lobster in my life, I was always put off by them being a chain and always thought the food would be low quality. But I was really craving seafood for my birthday and read the reviews and decided to give this place a shot, and boy am I happy that I did. The drinks were amazing, delicious mixed drinks where I couldn't taste the alcohol. I do wish they'd given me time to finish it before bringing our food out because once I eat I can't drink alcohol. Anyway, the food was delicious. Often fish is either under or overcooked, but my salmon and shrimp were perfect. And I am the pickiest salmon eater, they left the skin on, which some people like, but it comes off easily. Their tartar sauce wasn't generic, it was a little sweet, and it complimented my fish perfectly. I also had crispy red skinned potatoes that were light, crispy and hot when they were brought to the table. Our waitress asked us right away if it was a special occasion and despite the warning I gave to my mother in the parking lot she still blurted out that it was my birthday. I have nothing against birthday celebrations but I don't want the attention from it, the waitress was nice about not making it a big deal and discreetly brought me a dish of ice cream with a candle because she insisted I had to at least make a wish. She was super friendly, fast and very thoughtful. Her name was Janice, try to sit in her section. The price was lower than I expected, for 2 people it came to $45. The portions were good, not the American supersize you get at most places, but completely filling and even though I finished my meal I couldn't have eaten another bite. Luckily my birthday cake was at home and I had 18 minutes between Red Lobster and cake for my food to settle. I don't go out to eat often but I always do for my birthday. Actually a 3 1/2. Overall, good meal and portions. We had spicy broccoli- surprisingly good with some heat, lobster pizza that I only had two bites of a slice since our kids munched it up, kids popcorn shrimp-enough said about that, garlic shrimp skewer- wife ate all offering a half bite of one so must have been good and soup that wasnt offered to taste. Now, the main dish.....suspenseful music and drum roll. The Mixed Grill- The scallops-good to go, lightly seasoned and tender wishing I had more. Skewer shrimp-Yep! still good to go, seasoned and cooked on point. Rice and caesar salad - nice supporting sides. Salmon- for tenderness, cooked almost perfectly to slightly undercooked. If it was wood grilled could not tell but the skin was soft and gooey. The seasoning was alright for the most part but personally wish the cheaper option of butter sauce would go away. I tried this meal since giving up on the Salmon New Orleans with butter sauce. I started adding salt on half of the salmon. Lastly, took the upcharge for the mashed potatoes with lobster- save the 3 or 4 bucks for the sprinkle of small lobster remnants and sauce more like gravy. Know the side mirror warning, objects are closer than appear...this is the lobster on the mash potatoes, picture is larger than appear. To complete the sandwich technique, the two strawberry drinks also good bursting with strawberry flavor and two real large strawberries for presentation. Waitress checked on us just right and answered our questions so good job there. Hint Red Lobster...scallop and shrimp platter could be a big hit. read more

My mom and I were craving fish for lunch so we visited our nearby Red Lobster. I've been away for about 18 months so I have not been to my local Red Lobster in awhile. I noticed the restaurant was very clean inside. The servers all very busy and attentive; I sensed pride and teamwork. My mom ordered the Fried Seafood Platter. The really nice thing was that her food didn't look or taste greasy. It was fried to perfection. The selection of fish was fresh and plenty. I ordered the Chef's Pasta - lunch portion. I asked for alfredo sauce to replace the lobster butter sauce. The meal was hot, plentiful, fresh with large pieces of lobster and shrimp. The asparagus was also very tasty. The only bummer is that this meal has replaced their most awesome crawfish pasta that they used to serve here. The meals were a bargain when you consider the value vs the cost of the meal Delicious with the Alfredo sauce replacing the lobster butter sauce. Large pieces of lobster and very tasty shrimp. Served nice and hot. Fettuccini was cooked to perfection. Excellent meal for the price. read more

For some reason I find this to be the best of all the Red Lobsters in the metro Detroit area. The only thing that is holding me back from giving it five stars is the decor that is the same since 1980 something, oh never mind, I guess I can give it five stars since it is a corporate restaurant and the service there is always excellent... But please get the corporation to give it a make over sometime in the next 5 years. Food is good, not excellent, but it is a corporate restaurant and the price is acceptable. I can't think of a time where I have had a bad experience there with food or service. The only two issues that I have ever come across were a: with their payment system (not their fault, IMO) and b: with my sister who ordered her meal wrong (obviously not their fault), so the issue became trying to intervene between my sister and the very polite waiter. read more

Just went September 26, 2018 for dinner. First time and I can see why people prefer this over Olive Garden! Biscuits are amazing. Ordered 1/2 serving of lobster mac and cheese. This is the second time in a row that I've had issues with this location. I called in my order, but when I arrive, they have no record of the order. I had to reorder the food while inside the restaurant and had wait an additional 10 to 15 minutes for them to make the order for me. I've never been to Red Lobster before last night, and it was truly amazing. Although we had a long wait, it was worth it. We were treated very well and had the nicest waiter. He made sure we were comfortable and happy, and was very attentive. When I wasn't sure if I wanted lobster bisque or not, because I had never tried it before, he said he'd bring a cup out to me anyway and if I didn't like it, I wouldn't have to pay for it. But I loved it! For dinner, my fiancé ordered an entree that included snow crab legs. He had never had them before, so he didn't know how to get the meat out. Our waiter was so kind as to go get gloves and do most of it for us, and instructed us how to do it. Everything tasted delicious and I was beyond pleased! I took my mom for dinner because it's her favorite place and the food was disappointing.. the waiter gave us bread that wasn't fully cooked twice.. bit into it and tasted dough.. this really happened twice. I ordered the Salmon Orleans and the shrimp was not cooked and the rice was mushy. My mom Ultimate feast was terrible. Her rice was mushy, scampi came out dry, I had to ask the waiter to bring out some butter sauce, shrimp not cooked and vole slaw was dry. I've dined here before and NEVER had an experience like this. This particular Red Lobster was clean - OMG!!!! Now that is an anomoly. You should visit the one on Telegraph at Warren Rd., ugh! Went to Red Lobster for a birthday dinner - my son, he chose this particular place. So, here I am with my favorite people, my son, his wife and my two beautiful grandchildren! I am very happy and out come the rolls! Ohhhhh, if I remember the rolls are to die for! I tell myself I can have one only. So, I take one and lo and behold it was not as delicious as I remembered. I can do without all these extra calories so I put it aside. I decide on crab legs. Yummmmm. But, you have to work to get your food! Everyone else gets ready to eat meals and here I am, only having done this one time before, struggling with the cracker to get my meat out of those darned legs!!!! Ugh.
