I came to dine in at 11:40am my order drinks wasn't taken until 12:10pm. By the time my drinks arrived we ordered our food. My friend asked if she could substitute for glazed salmon on her meal to the waiter. The waiter gave an attitude you could obviously notice by her body language. It took awhile for her to come back but red lobster was able to substitute the plate grilled salmon for glazed salmon. The biscuits waiter never came back to check on us if we would like more. My friend had to get up with the empty basket of biscuits and request to an employee. A different waiter came back and gave us 6 biscuits. As i am writing this it has been about 1 hr exactly waiting for my meal. Lunch hr manager claims they are busy but the restaurant is not even packed! They must be short staff or this restaurant must not be staffed appropriately. We chose this place to celebrate my birthday but this will be the first and last time i come here. I agree with many of the other reviewers, in that this place is definitely hit or miss. Here is my thing though : If you are going to have a month's long Lobsterfest, then teach the cooks how to properly cook the lobsters!!!! I ordered the Dueling Lobster and both of them were overcooked and I had to saw through them with a knife. The dish is described as - One is steamed in parchment with fresh lemon, herbs and tomatoes. And the other grilled then topped with shrimp, bay scallops and roasted bell peppers in a rich sherry lobster cream sauce. The parchment lobster tasted really smoky (woody) and I didn't care for it at all, but I don't hold that against them. The one with the cream sauce was good, but way to much cream sauce, IMHO. Red Lobster used to be a place that I loved going to, not anymore! Gulf shrimp taste like iodine and are rubbery. Bay shrimp are so much tastier but not available. Food is not being prepared properly... my Cajun chicken garlic pasta was lukewarm at best and runny, plus the chicken tasted like it was prepared 2 days prior. I admit I have a very sensitive palate for detecting eat that has been frozen, thawed, refrozen, and then prepared. ICK! I cannot handle that taste. Service at RL was fair and definitely not what I expect when Sunday lunch for 2 cost over $50 with NO alcohol, dessert, or appetizers. Restaurant is clean from what I could tell from the very limited area we were in. The best thing about this place is the Cheddar Bay Biscuits! It's not a bad little place. They can be somewhat hit or miss however, and I feel the ingredients freshness can sometimes suffer from what feels like being left too long in the freezer. I have definitely noticed that there quality of lettuce, and biscuits can be anywhere from great awful. This most recent visit really highlighted the fact that it seems the biscuits are sometimes held for way too long. They were very hard, and felt dried out. I don't know if the more difficult traffic on Bay Area is the cause having fewer people going there or what. read more

I've always liked Red Lobster and have always been pleased when I come to this location. The food was Amazing, Tasty and fresh. I got the seafood Platter $29.99 and after eating Appetizers and a small salad my meal was more than enough to get stuffed on and have lunch for the next day. We got 2 desserts to go and had a Birthday Brownie & ice cream Dessert which was Amazing!!! The Brownie and ice cream and the Chocolate cake are my 2 New Favorites! I'm going to start by saying that I am NOT a seafood person whatsoever. The only reason that I came here is because my boyfriend loves Seafood and never gets to have it. I went for something easy, I had the make your own combo for $19.99. You can choose which two entrees you would like. I got the Shrimp Alfredo and the Fried Shrimp. The pasta itself was good and I didn't mind the shrimp either. But I must say, the Fried Shrimp (it has a specific name, something like "Al's Favorite") was quite tasty. I couldn't really tell that there was shrimp in it, it tasted like a chicken nugget. It had a nice crunch to it and didn't taste greasy at all! We had ordered a seafood dip for an appetizer but it never came out so they gave us a dessert on the house! The service was superb from every single person that assisted us this night. But today I went to eat their waitress was super nice in the beginning took my order. Everything came out perfect but she didn't deliver my food. She never came back by my table until I got up and walked over to the bar to DoorDash the bartender for a refill on my drink. Suddenly she shows up. So she ran off to go get me a drink. It was asking me is everything OK everything OK? I eat my food. I stacked on my plates in the corner of the table moved everything away for me and sit there for another good 5 to 10 minutes and she finally came back by and ask me if I wanted my check. We have been to this Red Lobster many times in the past, but after having several bad experiences the last two times, I don't think I will be returning ever again. After being sat and waiting more than five minutes just for our waitress to greet us and ask for our drink order, we ordered an appetizer too. Twenty-five minutes later, we started getting our main course meals and still no appetizers or mixed drinks. I got up to speak to a manager and noticed a young manager talking to the bar, so I asked for another. We arrived right between the shift change, from lunch and dinner. We opted to sit at the bar do to the restaurant getting a little backed up as they waited for their waitstaff to come in. Bartenders were attentive but not in your face, Food came out fresh and hot. They kept my sweet tea full and asked if my companion was in need for another Budweiser before opening another for him. (I like they didn't assume) The manager (or whom I assume was the manager) helped out his bar staff while they were getting clocked in and actually brought my first cup of tea. Love the team work y'all have going over there, it's good to see a manager who will still serve the customer and a staff that seems like they respect him for that. Alright, so I visit chains about once a year...yeah call me a food snob. But recently, my family got me a gift certificate to the Darden Corporation, ie: olive garden, red lobster, etc. They know I like to go out to eat but didn't know where so I guess it shows thought. Quite good, I wondered if it was because I had placed them to low in my mind that the dishes were actually inflated. As for my meal I had the lobster tail with rice pilaf and broccoli and lobster mac and cheese. The lobster tail was meh, but the mac and cheese was superb! The only reason why I ate at Reds last night is because my grandma had been wanting to eat here for 12 or more years (she waited this long for one of her daughters to take her here). I ordered the Island Mahi-Mahi with some Peach Lemonade. The peach lemonade was superb, and tasted just like fresh peaches. When the fish arrived to me, I felt rather disappointed when I saw how small the potion size was and it cost me about $17 for my meal. My aunt, brother, grandma, and cousin friend all ordered something that was $17 less and their potion sizes were larger. The menu read crispy red potatoes, but instead fried french came out. The menu to the Mahi didn't read broccoli, but the lady brought out some out though I don't like broccoli the waitress demanded that I ate the green trees which I thought was a bit over the top rude. I've tasted the Mahi Mahi before but at The Aquarium in Kemah and it was delish. Now those tasty biscuits were really yummy. Lots of butter, and cheese made just right. I didn't understand why they didn't have any classical music playing, you could just hear babies crying, and people smacking their mouths with food. I swear it would of been nice to have some music not loud, but some. I didn't tip our waitress because I thought she was a bit rude, and too sarcastic. My aunt and brother got mad at me because I didn't. They said I should, and need to but honestly I don't need to do anything. Despite being a chain, I adore Red Lobster. Its 1 part sentimental, 1 part seafood love, and 1 part tradition. One of the first meals we had when moving to Houston was at this Red Lobster. We'd both scored big new jobs and wanted to celebrate (but nothing too crazy since we hadn't been paid yet :) ). The best part of this review is that I can say that consistency has always been a big selling point for Red Lobster and this one is no different. Since the consistency has already been established, you can assume that its just as good as all other Red Lobsters you've been too before. Nothing crazy, nothing too innovative, but straight-up good basic seafood options, KILLER cheddar biscuits, and even pretty good salads before the big meal. The service at this particular Red Lobster is really great, but I say that subjectively because I happen to love very congenial and friendly service that borders on chatty. I know that not everyone shares this love so keep it in mind before you go. Our server was a sweet-as-pie older woman that seemed excited to have Texas newcomers in her seating area and she not only provided amazing service, but gave us tips on cool places to go, a little history on the area, and made us feel sincerely welcome. That's definitely not your standard customer service bonus, but they should be given credit for giving us not only a great meal, but a cool sense of neighborhood acceptance. We were seated immediately and attended by a very friendly waiter, Peter. He was very sweet and brought us extra crayons for my daughter when her yellow crayon broke. Literally. When we were done with our biscuits, salads, and appetizer, our table was a mess. I gathered the dirty dishes and trash in a neat stack in the middle of the table. She came to refill waters but didn't clear the table. It sat there for awhile to the point where another server asked our waitress if she needed help and wanted him to bus the table for her. Our food took about 50 minutes to come out. My husband went and asked a manager what time our food was put in. She told us 14 minutes prior. Our waitress forgot to put our ticket in. Ok. That's fine. We understand it's Father's Day, and it's busy. But please tell us something. Don't make us come to you. Honesty and communication are huge in the service industry. By the time the food arrived, my husband and I were full. Our kids ate. We had a few bites and boxed everything up. The bill came. We received the employee discount on our bill. How do I know? Bc that's exactly what it said on our ticket. So we arrived at 5. Waited less than the 20 minutes we were told, which was a plus. We ordered around 5:30 and received our food at 6:20. For all of that, we got 25% off of our bill. Ok. Fine. Put my card in the slot and the waitress charges the wrong ticket on my card. Now I'm annoyed. I feel like I've been pretty patient, understanding, and forgiving. Not only am I being insulted for my bad experience with an employee discount, but now we have to do this whole refund thing. Please let me speak to the manager. After that, we received 50% off our bill and a $10 gift card. I'm sorry, but if I would have just received some sort of apology and communication on the forefront, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. As one of the other reviewers said before that although this is a resturant chain, it is special on its own. I haver so many fond memories goign here. It was my birthday dinner every year in grad school until I stopped celebrating getting older. I always get the ultimate feast and sometimes try something new. The bacon wrapped scallops was not tooo bad and the ultimate feast is actually not as fulling as it use to be, but it still tastes yummy. I was hoping that this Red Lobster has a medly of steamed veggies, but they only offered steamed brocolli. The kids menu is very reasonable with the crab legs at under 9 bucks. Red Lobster still has its edge over Joe Crab Shack in term of the freshness of the food. I think the next time I go, I will try an actual live lobster and the daily special which I have not yet tried. read more

We got Red Lobster to go on mothers day 5/12/2019 hoping to treat my wife to a great meal at home. We ordered the ultimate Feast, and salmon and shrimp meals. We got home and the food looked ok but as the night progressed we realized how wrong it actually was. It is the most I've ever thrown up in my life and my wife had a similar experience. It's safe to say red lobster made the first mothers day my wife had most likely the worst one she will ever experience in her life. To top it off i am having a hard time getting them to even refund our meal, i am not even seeking damages that we both missed work the next day or for our horrible night. Went to this location around 730pm. Sat at the bar due to no hostess at the desk, several tables empty, waitresses standing around. Bartender seemed to be extremely busy with nine customers in his work station...not sure why he waits tables around the bar when they have waitresses standing around... finally got waited on.. shrimp was rubbery, steak was dry and well done (we ordered medium rare), green beans were great!! Don't think it was worth the money. Didn't have the heart to complain. Manager was running around putting out "staff disagreements" but nice guy. My daughter and I had an awful experience today at this restaurant. We were there for nearly 2 hours. We waited for everything. Didn't even take our drink orders for about 15-20 min. Then we waited for the drinks about 5-10 min. They never brought our salads until AFTER they brought the entrees and I had to ask them for the salads. Our entrees took about 30-45 min to show up. The food was ok but my daughter complained that the crab legs tasted fishy. I had my empty drink glass sitting on the table (near the edge so our waiter could see it) for 20 minutes when I finally got up and went to the bar myself To get another drink. I didn't even have a water on the table. The waiter never offered it (I assumed I would get water since I ordered an alcoholic beverage.) So I sat there for 20 min with nothing to drink. The price of this whole incident is what really prompted me to contact red lobster. I paid $76 for 2 ppl to eat and got service this poor. I would not recommend this place to anyone. And if you guys don't clean up your act, you're going to go out of business. Red lobster just lost another customer. read more

I actually know how to apportion two stars here - devoted entirely to the cheddar biscuits. They are amaze-balls. If I did not get stuck here on a date where I needed to act like an "adult" and order a salad and meal I would have just eaten biscuits. So there you go, dating ruins your fun. But anyway: hostess was grumpy. Yep, I bet that's a hard job to write down names and tell them how long of a wait it will be. Cool. Service was slowwwwwwwwww and I was hungry. Big point loss there.
