The tacos were fresh and authentic, the fajitas were sizzling and delicious, and the cocktails were expertly crafted. Their margaritas are some of the best I've had, and the tequila selection is impressive for anyone looking to explore beyond the basics. What truly made the experience exceptional was the service. Manager Ryan went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect throughout our visit. It's rare to see a manager so engaged with guests and genuinely invested in creating a great experience. The RED O Taste of Mexico offers spacious seating, attentive staff and management, and authentic Mexican cuisine. The name "RED O" pays homage to the RED ONION, while "Taste of Mexico" reflects the authentic recipes from the renowned Chef Rick Bayless, who has won numerous awards and authored numerous books. To minimize your wait time, highly recommend making a reservation in advance. Despite only being open for two weeks, the word of mouth is spreading rapidly! One of the standout appetizers is their crispy empanada toppings. They are incredibly delicious, and my wife raved about their authentic Mexican Caesar salad. It has a rich, unique taste that sets it apart from other Caesar salads. For the main dishes, we indulged in both the sizzling carne asada fajitas and the king of the main dishes: their one-of-a-kind and incredibly tender branzino. We've had branzino from various locations, but this definitely ranks among the best we've ever had. It is bursting with flavor and incredibly tender, an original creation from Chef Rick Bayless. The manager, Joey, also mentioned that their lamb is unbelievably delicious. To end your meal on a sweet note, their passion fruit butter cake is a must-try. I recently dined at your Westlake location for the first time, having previously visited your Santa Monica and Orange County locations. Coming from a background in hospitality, I was unfortunately disappointed with our experience. Our dinner service was lacking. While most guests were served promptly, one guest's meal arrived 13 minutes later than the others, with no acknowledgment or apology for the delay. Throughout the meal, there was minimal check-in from staff, and menus were left on the table until entrees were served for four out of five of us. To make matters worse, our reservation was at 5:30, and because the service was slow, someone approached us with an iPad to remind us of the 7:00 table turn time. This felt especially disappointing given the lack of attention we had experienced during the 1 hour and 30 minutes we were dining. I share this feedback because I want to see this location succeed. To thrive in Westlake Village, it's crucial for staff to read social cues, be attentive, and provide service that matches the price point of $17 cocktails and $30 entrees. With adjustments in service standards, this restaurant could better match the caliber of its other locations and the expectations of its guests. read more

I came to Red O when it first opened, and while I could see the potential, I understood that every new restaurant needs a little time to get everything dialed in. Fast forward 6-8 months later, and wow, what a transformation. Today is Cinco de Mayo, one of the busiest nights imaginable, and they are absolutely crushing it. I heard from the manager Oliver that they normally do around 500 guests for the entire night, and before 7pm they had already served over 600 people, yet the service, energy, and overall experience were still excellent. That says a lot about the leadership and team here. Oliver has done an incredible job, and it really shows. I'm very happy that this restaurant is in our community and serves our neighborhood. The atmosphere is lively, the operation is running smoothly, and you can feel the positive energy from the entire staff. Also, a huge thank you to our waitress Clare, who was absolutely amazing. My wife and I came into Red O in Westlake Village for dinner without a ton of expectations, and wow! we were genuinely blown away. From the moment we sat down, the experience felt elevated, warm, and intentional. The food was outstanding across the board, bold flavors, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered felt fresh and thoughtfully executed, the kind of meal where you keep looking at each other like, "Okay, this is really good." Finally, a new restaurant in the valley hits all the check marks with food, service, live music, aesthetics, and vibe. I opted for the bar that evening and was greeted by Gio and the rest of the team, who took their time to introduce themselves. I started with the Tuna Tartare, and it was one of the best I've had. The Tartare had a nice crunch from the seaweed which complemented the nicely ripened avocado and tuna. I ordered a side of plantain chips to eat the leftover sauce from the tartar. Also, had the duck taquitos which were delicious and highly recommend. For my entrée, I was recommended by the bartender to try the Branzino which was well flavored with a nice, buttery, rich taste. For dessert, I had the fire-lit cheesecake, which again did not disappoint. Everything was 10/10! As someone who enjoys sitting at the bar, I will be returning because everyone there was so welcoming and hospitable. Another nice perk is that they have TVs at the bar and was able to watch the end of the game. Can't wait to be back! read more

I came here with my family to celebrate my birthday, and overall it was a nice experience with a few hiccups. Making a reservation was easy, and we were greeted right away by friendly staff. At check-in, I was even given a handwritten birthday card, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. The décor and atmosphere were great, and our waitress was very attentive throughout the meal. The guacamole and shrimp enchiladas were delicious, and we were also treated to a complimentary birthday dessert, which really made the night feel special. On the downside, despite several booths being available, we were seated right next to the kitchen door, which had constant traffic and was a bit distracting. Also, the surf and turf burrito bowl and the risotto that came with the blackened salmon entrée were spicier than expected. Overall, the service and atmosphere stood out, and the restaurant clearly makes an effort to celebrate special occasions. If we come back, I'll definitely be trying the shrimp enchiladas. read more
