Came here with my wonderful Pearland Yelper for a breakfast. Both of us for the first time. Parking - easy, shared lot. Walked in without a resy, and was seated. The place gets busy during peak times, understandably. It's breakfast all day, definitely family oriented with a spirtual leaning of Bible quotes and crosses, and great for big groups. But don't worry to those that are not religious, the message is not overt, all seem to be welcome. Food- My friend got the Big Breakfast $14.95, with the fixings on her pancakes of bananas $1.95 & pecans $.95, strawberry butter $.95 ×2. I got the big breakfast $14.95. I added the jalapeño chedder toast- that was so good my favorite bite of the meal, would recommend. Our total was $38.70, which I was impressed with, cost wise. Pancakes were large & good. Service - our server Tony J definitely had experience and it showed. He was great. Walked us through all our options. Checked on us just enough. I enjoyed my meal and left with my stomach satisfied along with my wallet. Enjoy.

The Berta in all its glory!

Joining the waitlist was definitely the right choice - they are busy! The service and food were wonderful!! Kind, attentive server, and delicious quick breakfast!!

Very familiar atmosphere, delicious food, good presentation in the dishes, very friendly staff. Very clean place, and good prices.

When I knew we were coming to League City for two weeks, I started my Yelp restaurant investigation. Red Oak Cafe is a restaurant we hadn't visited before and it's super close to my sister's house. Today was the day. First, the ambiance. The restaurant is clean and has some cute touches including the lighting fixtures and some iron work here and there. The tables and chairs are not fancy. The walls are nearly empty with the exception of the oak tree and biblical verse that covers most of one wall. It's just a little plain overall. Our server was very nice and helpful. The time it took for our breakfast to arrive was just about right. It was clear our meals were prepared after our order hit the kitchen. I had the Guacamole Toast - house-made guacamole, tomatoes and sprouts atop thick-sliced wheat toast. It had a bit of a kick and a lemony flavor. It was quite tasty. It came with hash browns, which were surprisingly delicious. They weren't extra crispy, which I like. Rather, they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Sometimes hash browns can be a throwaway, but these were a wonderful accompaniment to the guacamole toast. I ordered a side of bacon - three pieces. They weren't super crispy, but they weren't limp. Once again, as with the hash browns, the bacon was cooked perfectly. It was actually a delight. Mark has the Hot Mess Bowl - two biscuits, two strips of bacon, two sausage patties, scrambled eggs and country gravy served with hash browns. Jalapeño gravy was an option and our server mentioned the meal could come with a half country and half jalapeño. Mark asked about the jalapeño gravy. She said it was very good so Mark opted for all jalapeño gravy. The meal was accidentally served with both gravies. Mark said having it would be fine. He cleaned his bowl so it was clear he enjoyed it. It was a LOT of food! Even mixed, the gravies were definitely spicy. While Mark loves spicy food, if he were to get this meal again he'd stick with just regular country gravy. The food and service were great. The ambiance was definitely lacking. I wavered between a three and four star review. Because food is ultimately the most important thing, I opted for four stars. If half stars were a thing, I'd give Red Oak Cafe 3.5 stars.

Breakfast Sandwich and pancake, dont mind my tabasco sauce lol

The food was as good as it looks on all the pictures, I ordered the breakfast sandwich and a side of pancakes and omg the pancakes was delicious. I already cant wait to go back!

For a great cup of Coffee with lots of options be sure to check out Red Oak Cafe.

If you're looking for a great cup of coffee and delicious food Red Oak Cafe is your spot. Lots of coffee options and creative choices for food. Pro-tip if you order a meal with the sausage gravy try it half regular and half jalapeño. Always friendly and always clean this place is a definite must.

Big breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns, biscuit, and strawberry/Oreo pancakes.

We went because we heard amazing reviews about their sweet cream pancakes, and we were not disappointed! The entire meal was a treat! My daughter and I shared the big breakfast (pictured) and brought home leftovers. Our pancakes were strawberry and Oreo and as you can see from the picture, we couldn't wait to take a picture to try them, delicious!! The sweetest part of our visit was our server Linda! She was so sweet, gracious, and attentive, make sure you ask for her!!

Eggs with bacon/ hasbrown (part of the biscuit and gravy plate)

Amazing breakfast... I had the biscuits and gravy plate... I requested my gravy on the side since I asked for the jalapeño gravy and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it... well I LOVED IT. The plate comes with eggs bacon and hash-brown... honestly 2 people can it from this plate since the portions are big. We also had a stack of pecan pancakes and they were delicious. The place has multiple bible verbs thru out the restaurant which we love. Place was clean and our waitress was amazing too!

The big breakfast @14.95 you can't beat this

This was by far one of the best places I've been in awhile for breakfast and at the price I paid for it let me tell you it was well worth it. The ambience of the place quaint and quiet, somewhat of a homely feel and still and quiet like library people are just concentrating on eating. Very different from any place I've been because the bathroom you can leave words of wisdom on sticky notes on the wall to give people I suppose for inspiration. All in all I give this place and A++, so if your long for breakfast to eat off of all day and maybe into the next this is the place to go.

You just don't see that often and I wanted to try it. The stars aligned and my family and I met up here for a weeknight dinner. Alvin is the true definition of a small town. It is just south of Pearland and life moves a little slower out here. Atleast for time being as it is becoming more developed now. The building itself is old and full of character. Everyone seemed to know each other. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, but service was a tad bit slow at times. My family isn't a big drinking family so we stuck with water and sodas, but they have quite a nice bar program here. They have a really impressive beer selection, a long list of specialty cocktails and lots of wine to choose from. I'm definitely coming back to check that out without the fam. For appetizers, we got an order of the scotch eggs and the Bavarian pretzel sticks. This was my first introduction to scotch eggs and a wonderful one at that. You really can't go wrong with anything wrapped in sausage and deep friend. It was a nice treat and something I will not be sharing next time. The pretzels were also very good. Our waitress suggested some cheese sauce to accompany those. These sticks of goodness were excellent. For my entree, I was stuck on a few items as their menu is pretty extensive. Our waitress said my option for the Pork Milanesa was the way to go, so I did. I've had milanesa at Mexican restaurants, but never in a tavern nor prepared this way. This was hand battered in panko and then topped with a mushroom gravy. It comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes but I substituted the veggie for mac and cheese. This dish was very good and the portions were very generous. Enough for me to have a full second meal minus the sides. The pork was thinly pounded and kept it's crunch even doused in gravy. The gravy was rich and very delicious. My family got a mix of items like the philly cheese steak, flat iron steak salad, tavern salad, and chicken fried steak. For research purposes and for my loyal readers, I tried everything. There wasn't anything that was bad to me. We were full so desserts didn't happen on this trip. Overall, Gordon Street Tavern is a solid spot that I would happily return to if in the area.

Give that kid a Gold Star - he is my server for life at Red OAK. He took care of us with a smile and quick service, what a shining star they got when they hired him! THE Pancakes - eyes rolling back in head - the biggest, fluffy golden brown things you have every seen and the syrup came in a glass carafe that warm syrup was an extra special touch. This isn't a shiny, soulless concept bar with Edison bulbs and a marketing team. It's a neighborhood joint that understands the fundamentals: cold beer, poured correctly; food that knows what it is; prices that don't insult you; and a staff that actually gives a damn. Let's talk beer first, because they clearly do. The draft list is deep and thoughtful--enough variety to satisfy the hop-chasers, the lager loyalists, and the folks who just want something cold and honest after a long day. And yes, they know how to pour a proper Guinness. Settle time. Correct head. No shortcuts. That alone tells you everything you need to know about their priorities. The menu doesn't try to reinvent the wheel or lecture you about provenance. It's bar food done with intention. The street tacos are the kind you order expecting "good enough" and end up wishing you'd ordered two more. Balanced, flavorful, no unnecessary nonsense. The fried cod special? Exactly what it should be--hot, crisp, flaky inside, and served without ego. Comfort food that respects the eater. Prices are fair. Refreshingly fair. The kind of prices that make you relax, order another round, maybe stay longer than planned. That's not an accident--it's hospitality. I thought I'd picked a gem from my bookmarks, but decided to take a look outside of my bookmarks to see if anything new had popped onto my radar. *Record scratch* a place with 4.9 stars has appeared?? Change of plans. There are probably 40+ beer taps in here and a menu with many typical classics that you'd find at a sports bar type of establishment. I went with some beef tacos. I heard the server tell my brother she recommends the al pastor, and in hindsight, I should have taken that rec. My beef tacos were fine, but the al pastor I traded with my brother, really hit the spot. I did enjoy a blueberry wheat beer from a Galveston brewer and saw several other appealing beer options on the menu. If I were to return, I'd probably go for a beer rather than the food, which was fine, but received mixed feedback from our large party.
