They close at 2pm to prepare for dinner and it was 1:45 and they let us in for the last few minutes of lunch. The hostess was lovely and the server Aiden was so nice and tentative. I got the shrimp po boy and my friend got the turkey burger. Both came with fries. I also got the white sangria. Everything was DELICIOUS. We were actually in shock about how good the food was on top of the already great service. Then to top it off, prices were reasonable too for delicious food. If you are in Williams to go to the Grand Canyon I highly reccomend coming here rather than spending $17 for Mac and cheese at the packed pizza/pasta trendy joint across the street. Food and service were both amazing. We started with drinks and a capresse salad. The bread with the salad was weird but the salad was amazing. Not sure if it was the pepper but there was something that made it so tasty. Moved on to wine and dinner. Hubby had the duck and it was cooked medium rare to perfection (chefs recommendation). I had the beef tenderloin medium, which was also cooked to perfection. No room for dessert! Had Valentine's Day dinner last night and it was great. The new york strip with horseradish mashed potatoes was perfect and the lobster bisque was the best I ever had. Only downside was it took 13 minutes to get a menu and drink order. The older hispanic lady, when we arrived at our reservation time, didn't look too happy to setup our table. She just threw a tablecloth on the table, sat us and left, didn't say a word. Finally our server, Ethan, arrived and was surprised we didn't have menus. He apologized for the inconvenience and proceeded with our order. Ethan's professionalism as a server made the rest of our evening nice. This place was recommended to us by a local which usually leads to great places. This was not the case with Red Raven. When visiting Red Raven the front door is locked and you must ring a doorbell to be let in. This is an attempt to limit disruptions to diners which I can appreciate, it was just a bit odd. The decor is fine. The food is where Red Raven really falls flat. We got the duck and a steak. The duck was cooked well and came with what seemed like canned cranberry sauce and rice-a-roni. The steak was cooked well. The brussel sprouts that accompanied were obviously frozen. The end result was mushy and inedible. Red Raven just didn't have worth for the price they were charging. When in Williams, Az. save your money and go to the many other delicious and memorable places that don't charge a premium without justifying it. read more

The rest of my party wanted to go to the Italian restaurant across the street but I really wanted to try this place.... I should have listened to them. The absolute worst service I have ever experienced in my life. My sandwich came out and it wasn't even edible (the bread was wet. Not soggy, WET!). I was hungry so the last thing I wanted to do was complain, I just wanted to enjoy a sit down lunch with my family. Long story short, the waiter talked to me as if I was a child and literally said "then you shouldn't have ordered it!" My jaw hit the floor, and I said "excuse me?" (because I really wasn't sure if he said what he did and I wanted to make sure I wasn't hearing things) and he, very confidently, repeated his snarky comment, OVER AND OVER. It was awful. Everyone else in my party said the food was ok, nothing great. Overall, food was ok, overpriced for what you get, NO KIDS MENU (so they can either make them noodles or a grilled cheese.... those are your kids options), it took forever for the food to come to the table and the staff (George, our waiter) was the rudest person I have ever met in my life.. Not only did I still leave with a bill (yes, the horrible sandwich was removed but not even a free soft drink drink was offered for the rude service), I was still hungry and left in tears because of they way I was treated. I didn't ask for gross, inedible food that took WAY too long. All I wanted was an enjoyable afternoon and a good lunch with my family. There are many, many other options for dining while in Williams and I highly recommend taking your business somewhere else. I will tell everyone to stay away and never, ever go to this place. Yes, I understand that it was one waiter, however, the management is responsible for who they hire. The manager heard the whole thing and said that she would talk to him in private yet he can degrade me in front of the entire restaurant and my children. George, if you're reading this... Let me say that I understand that we all have bad days but it is no excuse to ever talk down to someone. Whatever you were going through, I will pray for you and hope that you have better days ahead. The Hostess with the Mostest! Visited Red Raven on 4.17.21. Got seated. My wife and I viewed the menu. Everything looked and smelled great, but we both decided, on a whim, that Mexican food would better suit the evening. We walked toward the front door and informed the hostess we would be leaving. Get this. She said, "Thanks for wasting our time." I turned and said, "Did you just say that?" She said, "I did." It bugged me, but I exited. I reconsidered and re-entered. She said, "Did you forget something?" I said, "Would you like your name attached to our Google review?" She said, "Do whatever you like, sir!" and shut the door in my face. After a long drive and a craving for good food, this restaurant is not the place. The food was mediocre at best and we left the place still hungry. We ordered the garlic smoked shrimp and the portobello mushroom, which sounded delicious, but came out okay. The asparagus lacked seasoning and the brussels weren't tender enough. Even the main part of the entree was lack luster. The shrimp was dry and didn't have the garlic flavor to it, just all smoked. The mushroom was soggy and didn't have much flavor, along with the vegetables on top. We didn't bother with dessert, seeing how poor our food was. The server never noticed or realised, but, they did refill my beverage. Looks like a cross between a 50s diner and a country kitchen. Tip was automatically included. This time we decided to post our experiences. We were impressed with our initial contact with the hostess, she a so cordial and helpful. We made a reservation for 6:15 and they had our table ready on time. The service was very competent and efficient. They have an adequate wine list and cocktails. Our Pinot was very nice. Try the smoked shrimp skewers, it was a homerun. We had two separate entrees, the salmon Oscar special was outstanding. The lamb missed the mark. People there are so rude. we sat down and about to have my medicine. A lady came to me and asked me to drink it outside and told me that there's no outside drink after I told her this is my medicine and she told me she didn't know what is it inside of it. so she asked me if we want to eat there, I have to take it outside, finish drink it then can come back it. My group of six had early bird dinner and drinks in mind on a recent Saturday night... We had worked up an appetite as we participated in some hard core exercise as part of the Wild Canyon Games in nearby Lost Canyon. Instead of eating in the lodge at camp sans alcohol, we searched on our Yelp apps and what did we find? Red Raven of course! We walked in right after 5pm without a reservation and were warmly greeted and seated within minutes. Amy was our waitress and couldn't have been sweeter. Four of us shared a couple of bottles of wine (Malbec) and the two others went for cervezas. Majority ordered steak and one had pork, another had pasta. I fell into the New York Strip category. It wasn't the best steak I've ever had, but it hit the spot. It was served with a starter salad, and then broccoli and potatoes on the side.
