The portions are plenty, and there are just enough options to choose from on their menu. I had the breaded shrimp, which the panko breading was kept crispy and light, while the shrimp were plump and moist. Their infamous red rice, coloring from Annato seeds, was cooked perfectly and had a delicious flavor, and I really enjoyed the cucumber finadenne as my other side (like a party in my mouth). I have been wanting to try Red Rice for so long after trying them at a food festival a while back, and the opportunity finally presented itself while we were on this side of town. I have to say that they grill chicken very, very well. The sides were also amazing. I had both of the cucumber sides and was very satisfied. The red rice was delicious; I wish I could make this rice at home. The wife got the beef ribs which were tender and oh so flavorful. She also got a side of the chicken kilaguen, which was tangy and sooo good. I wish we had a Red Rice on our side of town. Such a local hidden gem! I was hungry, but didn't want to eat too much during the trip back to Los Angeles. I got shrimp patties, empanadas, and a spam musubi. I wasn't able to eat everything, so I save some for later that night. Shrimp patties: comes with some sort of sauce, not sure what it was. It was a little sweet and delicious. The shrimp patties were more shaped liker balls. It was moist and tasty. Great flavor and you could actually see the chunks of shrimp. Spam musubi: made with red rice. They were delicious and filling. Empanadas: my favorite of the bunch. It was crispy and light. I believe it has chicken and rice inside. Nice flavor throughout. I definitely recommend getting the empanadas. Hot sauce: if I had only known, I would have asked for more. It has a kick to it and made all of the food extra tasty. What an amazing find in Henderson... Our Vegas friends found Red Rice on a whim, and took us when we were in town visiting... Simply outstanding. Red Rice brought back nostalgia from our time living in Guam (lived there 5 years in a previous life)... The food is as authentic Chamorro as you're going to find. It's a family owned joint and you can tell they really pride themselves in serving quality Chamorro cuisine. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is small and quaint, but clean and well-kept. While it's not cheap ($60 for two plates), they give you a ton of food, arguably enough for two meals, so keep that in mind. Tried this place twice (came in once and took to go, and ordered off postmates the second time) and both times really delivered! Located on the busy street on Eastern, there's still ample parking in its plaza! Inside, there's a huge menu on the screens in front of you, a bench to sit on the side for waiting, and tables to the right. Ambience is heavily Guamanian which is awesome, and towards the door you can find some interesting articles up for you to read about how they got started :) The person taking my order seemed friendly, and of course the second time was on postmates, so no need. The menu selection can be a bit difficult at first because of the new item names, but trust, whatever you get is delicious and well-cooked! If you want to try a bunch of different items, I'd suggest the Mix combo plate! (Red rice, bbq chicken, bbq spare rib, breaded shrimp, chicken kelaguen, and a choice of side (my fav is the cucumber fine denne). I've also done regular plates and added the bbq rib because it's honestly a rib with so much meat! Don't skimp out on the banana donuts! Soft doughy/banana inside with a fried outside! SO GOOD! And yes, the red rice is super flavorful! OH and The spam musubis with the red rice are chefs kiss! Hear me out! A Guamanian BBQ Revelation I stumbled upon Red Rice while searching for a Hawaiian BBQ spot and was utterly blown away to discover that we had Guamanian BBQ here in Las Vegas. I did some quick research just to kind of get a understanding of the difference and found that Guamanian BBQ is distinct from Hawaiian BBQ, even though they share island roots. In Guam BBQ, meats are often marinated in savory blends of soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and black pepper, then grilled over fragrant native woods like tangan‑tangan for a truly smoky finish . In contrast, Hawaiian BBQ from classics like my fav BBQ chicken, to imu‑cooked kalua pig, its all about sweet‑savory tropical marinades featuring soy sauce, ginger, pineapple, brown sugar, and garlic. So while both island BBQs bring deep flavor, Guam leans smoky, savory, and grounded, whereas Hawaiian leans bright, sweet, and tropical. Anyways....Back to the review! Their Spam musubi could have carried my cravings alone with its crispy, savory, and wrapped to perfection presentation. But the true star of the show was their signature red rice. I'd never had it before, and now I'm absolutely hooked. Vibrantly hued and beautifully earthy, a taste that lingers and delighted me. The cucumber side, cucumber fina'denni', was a standout as well with a cool, tangy, and playfully spicy, with just enough zing to balance the rich BBQ flavors. Whenever my husband and I go to Vegas, we always make our way to Red Rice to get our Guam/chamorro bbq fix since there really isn't any Guam bbq places in San Jose where we live. Over the years and times we've been here you can never go wrong with any of their combo plates which comes with a bit of everything. On our recent visit we ordered the fiesta plate which includes beef short ribs, bbq chicken, pork spare ribs, red rice, and a side of chicken kelaguen. Everything was cooked and prepared well and definitely fulfilled our Guam bbq cravings especially after pouring finnadene over everything! All of the meats were cooked perfectly, tender, and had a nice char to it. The fiesta plate is definitely enough to share for two people. Service was great and welcoming. You'll find them in Henderson at a strip plaza on Eastern and Serene and there's good parking available, Inside is a casual space with good seating and relaxing music. Menu has a nice selection of savory snacks, kelaguen, regular and combo plates, and premium sides, family meals, and desserts including latiya (pronounced latiza, cinnamon custard cake-big seller), mochi donuts, buñelos aga (banana donuts), beignets, and rosketti (Chamorro shortbread cookie) sourced from local vendor. I had a craving for Spam Musubi ($5.16) and also tried their Shrimp Musubi ($6.20) which is really good and quite tasty! It's light yet flavorful, has two crispy shrimps on red rice and furikake, Yum! Service from Tate, Christian, and Janet is welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Amazing food! The rice is so flavorful, the ribs are cooked perfectly. Sometimes the meat on the ribs can be a little light but nonetheless this place has great food and service! I always get the rib place with extra rice and extra dressings. They have a homemade hot sauce that's really good too, love to add it to the rice! read more

Cute little Guamanian spot! There aren't too many tables, but my friend and I were able to get one. The 90s music that was playing is totally my vibe! I ordered the hafa adai plate. It did take a while to come out. They said they would comp me a dessert item because of it... but I guess they forgot. Literally everything on my plate was delicious... from the empanada to the red rice, meat, cucumbers, and sauces. They all just go well together and are very flavorful. I thought I'd be able to leave myself some leftovers, but I devoured it. The staff was nice each time I've visited, and this last one was my 3rd time checking it out. Monday 1/13/2025 Another spot I got introduced to by Keith Lees' TikTok content, so you know I had high expectations. Also, I'm not very well versed with different types of food so Guamanian food is completely new to me and my palate. I called for takeout, and the service was good, but even better in person. I got the mix combo plate (cucumber & diago) $22.94 and latiya (cake) $6.22. When it comes to the mix combo plate, it had many different items, but I'd say: the rice was alright, the chicken was good, the rib & shrimp were decent. It came with some sauces: the orange color cream sauce was decent, but the brown soy sauce wasn't enjoyable. The latiya is a dessert derived from their culture and it was my recommended by the person on the phone so I was intrigued to say the least. Unfortunately, my high expectations were not met as it tasted like vanilla pudding with some cinnamon at the top, which didn't do anything for me. In all honesty, I likely wouldn't come back mainly due to the price and the fact that there was an unknown 4% credit charge that I wasn't aware of until later. read more

The dark red rice had all the flavors just like a remember and the finadene took my rice to the next level. Green onions soy sauce vinegar I'm drooling just thinking about it. I ordered the chicken kelaguen plate with red rice and a side of cucumber daigo kimchee. The kelaguen was a little dry in my opinion and I don't recall tasting any coconut. I ordered the BOGO (buy one, get one free) mix plate special on Uber Eats. When my order arrived, it included only one plate. I immediately called the restaurant. They claimed they only received an order for one mix plate. I pointed out that on Uber Eats, the mix plate is listed as a BOGO special--you cannot order just one. The app automatically applies the deal: you pay for one, and the second is free. The staff admitted they were aware of this, yet still refused to make it right. I also tried contacting Uber Eats, but as usual, their customer service was useless--10 minutes on hold, disconnected, and told to write in. Meanwhile, Chris at the restaurant offered no apology, no accountability, and no solution. Instead, he passed the buck and told me to deal with Uber Eats. They knew they had this promotion. They knew what my order meant. And they could have easily rectified the situation yet they chose to do nothing. This place clearly doesn't value its customers. First approach looks closed because the outside has a dark covering but of course it's to block the strong sun from coming through. Once inside the staff is ready to serve you with friendly and exceptional service. Plenty of indoor cool seating to accommodate large groups. The crew made the proper recommendations it being my first time. They introduced me to what tasted like a chicken ceviche. It was cold, citrusy, spicy and loaded with flavor. On the side a soy base cucumber mix to balance the citrus, all complimenting the wonderful flavors of spare ribs and charred chicken.... I'm all in. So thank you for these great flavors. Pork ribs was nice and charred with good seasoning. My husband ordered the mixed plate (forgot the name) but it consists of bbq pork ribs, bbq chicken, fried shrimp and chicken kilaguen. So much flavors. We love the red rice as well. To wash it down we had the melonade and chamorro punch. Too sweet but just water it down or add extra ice then it's perfect. Whenever we're in Vegas, this spot is a must for us--all the way from Texas! We always make it a point to support this place, easily spending $60-$70 on food each visit. I never leave without grabbing a shirt and some stickers to represent Guam, where I lived for four years.
